It will take another visit to convince me that Casa Italia is 5 stars. It's a very nice place but very small and hot so if you get there at peak time, service will be slower. During our visit, the waitress had 12 tables to look after and that is a lot! Food was overly salty to the point I couldn't enjoy it. Hard to believe this would be a standard salt amount as it was impossible to finish a great looking salad. I'll try it again as maybe this was a one off experience. Sad that my comment about salty food wasn't acknowledged in any way.

We visited on a Friday night for a 21st birthday celebration. We were looked after by Judith who was so helpful and attentive. The platters to share are outstanding, and the orecchiette ‘nduja sublime. Fabulous!

Wonderful restaurant in the heart of Wilmslow where you dine with real Italian food. The i suggest are the parmigiana, which is like the one my Italian mother makes, and the cannoli which is better than all the ones I've tasted in Italy. Complimenti, I can't wait to return!

We come to Casa regularly, it is like our little piece of Italy in wilmslow, the atmosphere is truly authentic, food is amazing as is the deli - imported cheeses, meats, specials are always delicious and new for us regulars. Service is friendly and staff always seem genuinely pleased to see us! You can risk a walk in if at the right time and also just go for coffee or drinks which is great. Love casa and would recommend it 100%,

Disappointing! Cannelloni lacked meet at the point that I genuinely thought that for a mistake they served me the vegetarian alternative. Sausages alla cacciatora were in a poor red sauce with two (2!) pieces of pepper: you can't call it "alla cacciatora". Desserts on the specials board: either slice of panettone or pandoro £ 7.90. How can you propose a Christmas cake at the end of February? And at that price? Seriously? In spite the decent selection of Italian products on the shelves, the cousin is a poor attempt to be truly Italian, and nd offered at excessive price. By the way: I'm Italian.

Awful service - bought a gift voucher, wasn’t advised was only 2 months to expiry at purchase, when I went back in to try and resolve was basically told “nothing we can do”

Excellent food and wine for lunch if a bit expensive (£50 for 2)

Booked a table for our anniversary by phone 3 weeks in advance. Called them on the way last Friday night to say that we would be 5 minutes late, only to be told they didn't have a booking and couldn't fit us in. Had to find somewhere else last minute. Not impressed. EDIT - don't be making excuses about spam folders, you clearly haven't bothered to read my review properly, I phoned you to book the meal. Obviously, whoever I spoke to didn't book us in and you left us high and dry last minute with nowhere to go.

We love this place! The food is so deliciously fresh that it's difficult to choose which dish to get! This time we all got the lasagne, and it was superb!

Casa Italia is our go to place for a family dinner when we are visiting our family in Wilmslow. We usually come in a big group of about 10 and always manage to have a lovely time! The food is absolutely amazing - delicious and so authentic. The staff never fail to look after us whilst going out their way no matter how busy it is - a big thank you to Ruth and Rosario especially!

Excellent and proper italian food in a cozy environment. I have been coming to Casa Italia many many times during the years, and I cannot stress enough how good it is. The food is earthy and flavourful, the portions are good and the staff is very friendly and makes you feel at home. It's a place where you can eat, as well as purchase authentic italian drinks, snacks and ingredients if you want to bring Italy at home (or order takeaway from them alternatively 😂). Very good, highly reccomended! 😊

Always enjoy the experience here. Feel like the food is 100 % freshly made. Service is always lovely. Good selection of wines. I enjoy coming here even if it’s coffee and a cake.

When I asked if I could add olives, I was told no. I found the waiter exceptionally difficult no matter what suggestion I made, so much so that I didn't order anything at all and just watched as my family ate. I have never experienced such a rude attitude when politely trying to find something suitable to eat, and that's including time I have spent in Italy itself, nevermind a premises in Wilmslow, in the UK. Its not difficult to offer a simple veg and tomato pasta. I am half Italian so an Italian being so reluctant to make their guest happy is really disappointing. If you're wondering why we didn't tip, that's why! None of my Italian family will return. AVOID IF VEGAN

Called in for an early dinner tonight. Only people in there so no atmosphere. My friend had lasagne which she said was ‘ok’, I had penne pasta with what appeared to be tinned tomatoes with grated cheese on top. Very bland and tasteless, hardly Italian cuisine. I cannot recommend this place and will not be returning.

Authentic looking interior but with basic Italian flavouring. We left disappointed, service was disjointed from the beginning. Burrata with prosciutto arrived with bacon, mains were bland and dessert was bought in and served in plastic tubs.

Food was great and service as well. It was a bit weird that we had a time limit how long we could spend there so it felt a bit rushed to finish food and leave. I am not local so maybe it's a regular thingin area. Not complaining - just pointing out. Very satisfied with visit.

A lovely, cosy place with beautiful authentic food and atmosphere. This is my second visit to this hidden gem and every time I’m working in the area i I’ll make a point of eating here. The menu is small but well rounded. The food is traditional and tasty. Service is great and the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend.

Unbelievably rude staff and food that isn’t good enough to make up for the attitude! Arrogant chef/waiter who is always right and clearly thinks no one as ever been to Italy before let alone Sicily where the food is amazing and the people friendly and charming - nothing like Casa italia Wilmslow sadly! If you don’t like the customers perhaps hospitality isn’t for you?

An absolutely terrible restaurant in my opinion with rude and arrogant management. We had appalling and unauthentic tasting ice cream and coffee and through a lack of transparency ended up paying £27 for just three ice cream cones … more than what one would pay in a typical fine dining restaurant! A very modest and uninspiring restaurant in Wilmslow with a dilapidated looking shop frontage that is tired and dated both inside and out. To be avoided at all costs if you have any sense.

Booked in for a Mother's day lunch. Brilliant atmosphere, superb service, amazing food! We will absolutely be coming back & I'll definitely be having a Cannolo Siciliano again! Possibly the best desert I've ever had.

My partner and I popped in to this cafe on a whim to get some Italian produce to cook at home. We stayed after seeing and smelling the wonderful food on offer. The staff are excellent and really helpful and the deli produce to take home is top quality. We ended buying some meats, cheese and wine to take home and had a delicious lunch of lasagne, pizza and salad. We will definitely be going back

Too expensive for small portion of at best average quality food. Other local restaurants are both better quality and better value.

A small but genuine style place,max capacty about acouple of dozen. Cafe /retail effort in day time,good varied menu in the evening. Very much shows real 'local italian 'items using correct ingrediants. Good range plus daily specials. Good starter plates (fine for 2) Very attentive staff happy to explain style and constituants of dishes. Note Take some cash to tip the excellent staff!

A lovely small restaurant and Italian delicatessen run by food enthusiasts. The food is yummy, the service is flawless and if you want to take some of the ingredients home with you, the shelves are well stocked.

Absolutely loved it good food good service good company reasonably priced. Went again on Saturday after a trip to the artisan Market the coffee and cake were just divine.

Had a decent meal, albeit lacking in flavour. The meat in the lasagne was decent but not great quality. In terms of value it was middling to decent, again not special. There are better Italian restaurants in Wilmslow which are at a similar price point.

First visit to the this Italian restaurant - it’s focused on smaller plates but the quality is first class- owner is Sicilian so the taste and standard of food is truly authentic. parmigiana di melanzane, a particular highlight. Would highly recommend

Popped in for a takeout(late lunch). Fabulous!! Gorgeous veggie bruschetta and coffee. Lovely service too. Great atmosphere, all in all, fabulous!

Came in for lunch around 1 pm. Sat out on the covered patio. Two of us ordered a pasta (Orechiette al pesto and orechiette al ‘nduja) whilst the other ordered a salad. Service was prompt. Pastas were knockout. Great portions and cooked perfectly. Definitely would recommend for fantastic Italian food.

I took delicious burrata vegetariana and lasagna with spinage and vegetables, served fresh by friendly people. It's also possible to drink good wine, coffee and to enjoy with a delicious Italian gelato 😋 buying products are possible also online.

Excellent authentic Italian restaurant. Food the best we have had for a long time. Lovely staff, very attentive and friendly We travel 35 miles to visit this place and will continue to do so.

The ricotta and spinach cannelloni was excellent. However, I have to take issue with what we were charged for some of the other dishes. The vegetarian bruschetta was three small bits of toast with a minimum of the stated vegetables - £9.30. And when we asked for some simple pasta to go with the children's meatballs (only 4, but they were good), we were charged £7.50. I don't mind paying for good food, but not for such sparse dishes and excessive pricing.

Lovely atmosphere, the food was very good, nice fresh salad. Beautiful fresh mozzarella and parma ham. Also a lovely chat with Pasquale as well. Highly recommend, I will be returning soon.

Great Italian food in town center

We were coming back from the airport nearby and decided to stop here for a late lunch. We ordered two pasta dishes and a sandwich which were nice, but the portions were too small.

I went to this cafe/restaurant with a friend, I ordered lasagne and my friend ordered a vegetarian lasagne. My lasagne came swimming in a pool of clear liquid, it looked like a cheap frozen meal which had been microwaved and from which loads of water...

Located in the centre of Wilmslow (they have another branch in Didsbury), Casa Italia is perhaps more café and deli than full-on restaurant. They’ll welcome you for a slice of cake or a panino and a coffee, as they will for lunch or dinner. And...

Had a lovely meal. The place is very friendly and the food was lovely. It's a simple menu, a bit like Italian tapas. It's ideal for a meal after watching a film at the Rex. PS they don't do pizza.

Really one of the most authentic experiences of Italian food you will get in England. From the hearty cry of bonjourno as you enter to the simple but rich dishes, it is hard not to adore this place. I would return multiple times to sample the whole menu if I could. Don't miss out!
