ANTES DE NADA: NO ES COMIDA ESPAÑOLA Conscientes de que estamos en Londres y que la comida es lo que es… pues a ver, como explicarlo. Vimos varias cartas de comidas varias por ahí, ya teníamos más hambre que un perrillo chico. Y leo “TAPAS”. Y digo: HOMBRE! Pues allí que fuimos. Un salchichón colgado, un jamón en un altar y mucho vino. Y ajos, muchos ajos, como decía la Beckham. Allá vamos: pimientos por aquí, croquetas, que si corderito… bueno vamos a ver… pedimos unas croquetas: jamón y champiñones. Bueno, pasables ( 3 croquetas, 10 euros al change)… pero bueno… yo con toda la ilusión que leí HUEVOS ROTOS… y viene con ¿sobrasada? Pues nada pa dentro… más que ardor… y luego pollo con mojo picón, o algo así… no he comido el pollo en España así en mi vida. La cuenta: más de 60 euros y a rematar a otro sitio porque… A ver, que no era mala la cosa, pero que se venda esto como COMIDA ESPAÑOLA, es de locos… así luego vienen a España y alucinan en colores… que pena que una de las marcas más importantes de comida mundial, la ESPAÑOLA, se vea representada por este tipo de negocios… con lo fácil que es!!

Comida exquisita. El trato inmejorable. Lo visitamos con 2 niños de 2 y 5 años. Fantástico. Tania nos presto una atención inmejorable. Tienen trinas para los niños. Y menú infantil lo cual se agradece. Volveremos segurisimo.

Disappointing and bland food, we were left by the tiny welcome desk for a couple of minutes before being acknowledged ( the manager/ welcome person was behind the desk!) had to get someone’s attention to order drinks then eventually I went back to the reception to ask someone to take our food order. The truffle is a tiny lump of something black grated with a micro plane grater and both waitresses didn’t know how to use it. Butter bean dish contained hard beans, hispi cabbage was rock hard rather than charred and unctuous as it should be, potatas bravas were cold and had to be sent back. Underwhelming to say the least. We were early diners at 5pm so it was not very busy - staff need trying in basic manners, eye contact and info about the food being served. Over the years we have been to Brindisa in various locations - we will never return. If you want great food, service and atmosphere got to The Barbary or Bubala or any Ottolenghi establishment.

We had the best time. Tania looked after us so well. We stayed on a bit longer than we should have and she was so accommodating.

We came for some tapas after a concert at RAH. Brindisa is one of the few establishments round South Ken station that can be reserved. We had a very underwhelming experience - the food was bland, not well presented or executed. You have to pay extra for bread with dishes like mussels. Pretty disappointing although there was nothing technically that we could complain about or send back. As is the case when you book through Open Table I got asked to review so I submitted a review to say it was quite poor, unexceptional food and wouldn't return. They then e-mailed me to say they were sorry to hear that and they would like to make it up to us by offering us a free drink and snacks on our next visit. "That's very decent of you" I replied - "We'll be in the area on this date... can you fit us in around 9.45?". And then nothing...... I sent a follow up e-mail the day before we were due to visit and got no response. Not quite sure why they would go to the trouble of making the offer and then not bother to follow up. Needless to say, won't be returning.

Pues después de días comiendo “comida” fuimos a este español con miedo pero pensamos.. el peor español será mejor que cualquier comida que estamos comiendo.. sorpreson!! Comida riquísima y buen servicio. Recomendable

We have visited Brindisa South Kensington several times in the past and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, but our lunch today was an enormous disappointment. The waiting staff appeared totally uninterested, and delivered the various dishes to our table one after the other in quick succession, giving the impression that they wanted us to eat our meal quickly and vacate the table for the next customers. The tapas, which we shared, were of no more than average quality and certainly not what we had come to expect of Brindisa in the past, but the main dish we chose - arroz negro - was a disaster. We have spent a great deal of time in Spain over the past 40 years and have enjoyed arroz negro on many occasions. Brindisa’s version bore no relation whatsoever to real arroz negro. The squid was overcooked and tough and the rice, which appeared to have been drenched in oil, was heavy and glutinous, and left all three of us feeling quite queasy for the rest of the afternoon. I think that Brindisa, after years of success, has become complacent and is resting on its past reputation. Not only was the food unexciting - the prices did not represent good value for money and the 13.5% service charge was an insult, in view of the poor service we received. We won’t be returning to Brindisa any time soon - if ever.

We have visited Brindisa in Richmond twice in the past and have had great experiences on both occasions. Tonight we went to Brindisa in South Kensington and it was quite disappointing. Amongst other dishes ,we ordered the Txuleta Rubia Gallega (250g) and I was asked how we wanted it cooked. I responded as I usually do for a beef steak dish - "medium rare". At £30 for a tapas dish I was expecting something fairly decent. What we got was disappointing to say the least - a wafer thin minute steak which I very much doubt was 9 ounces and, was so thin, it would have been nigh impossible to cook medium rare. In the age old tradition of not sending a steak back to the kitchen (we all know why) I did not send the steak back. We finished it but it was possibly the the most mediocre steak I've ever had. Visually It had a lovely layer of fat but even this was dry - not the succulent buttery taste you would expect of a sirloin fat. The waitress did ask if everything was ok and I expressed my disappointment regarding the beef to her. She said she would relay my comments to the kitchen. I hope she did. At over £110 for a meal for 2 this is way too expensive for the experience. I don't think we'll be back.

Khushi was absolutely fantastic, she was an absolutely incredible presence and suggested wonderful cocktails. Me and my colleagues WILL be back to visit again because of her amazing service. Highly recommend this place.

Our second visit to Brindisa, lovely food, but low staff! The place was full due to Valentine’s day, and we could only see 2 waitresses, taking orders, cleaning, serving etc. One of our plates arrived cold but the waitress changed the dish immediately without hesitation!

Very disappointing. The food was mediocre and expensive. (A weird service charge of 13.5% applied, what sure of charge is that?). The service was unprofessional and grumpy. On three occasions waiting staff tried to clear dishes which were still being eaten. Presumably they were hoping we would vacate the table. The ambiance was not particularly pleasant. It was noisy. The tables were placed so close together that I had difficulty vacating my seat without dropping my coat in the neighbours lunch. Not an experience to be repeated.

We had a relaxed family lunch with just three of us- the food was delicious - the best tortilla that we’ve ever had and the seasonal Ajo Blanca crema - chargrilled baby gems with an almond chestnut sauce with pickled mushrooms was exceptionally good.

We had a lovely dinner at Tapas Brindisa pre-Christmas. The food was delicious, and our server was very helpful. Thank you for a pleasant experience!

The atmosphere friendly with gentle soft music, the food is good, the staff excellent! Will recommend to friends who want great dining out experience.

Very rude staff. The waitress has literally thrown the receipt to us and told us that she is waiting for the table after an hour we had our table and we ordered a bottle of wine and 7 tapas dishes. Food is not good either.

Service was abysmal , our drinks turned up 10 min after our food after asking for them twice, part of the food (which was frankly average) order turned up 15min after the rest yet again after begging for it and the person who dealt with our bill (bald man ) was incredibly rude , uttering « I’m not a which, calculate it yourself » when asked to pay the balance on ONE card because the rest was cash . Expensive , bad service, meh food . Go somewhere else

We have eaten at Brindisa's a few times over the years at various locations and would recommend and return back. Although we had an issue with food we were served when we visited the South Kensington restaurant in October on this occasion, it was dealt with swiftly and very professionally. What could have been a bad experience with a negative review ended up being a good experience, as a result of the way in which our concerns were managed. It was unclear to us if we were dealing with a manager, as we did not ask and this was not important to us. What was clear was that the person who dealt with the issue, dealt with it in one of the most professional ways we have experienced in a long time. We would continue to return to Brindsa's as our experiences are often good. If the restaurant read this review, the person who served us, informed us that it was his last day before he moved on (To Borough Market from what I recall) and we were both very impressed with the way in which he dealt with our concerns. Our end result was nice, hot, tasty and fresh food.

As a Spaniard myself, I wanted to take my friend to a Spanish restaurant, so after a visit to the V&A museum, we went to this place. We didn’t have a reservation, however we were quickly placed on a table inside. The service was fast, we were attended by 4 different members of the staff during our meal, but all of them were nice. We ordered some dishes to share, since I wanted her to try different things. Be aware that the portions are tiny. We literally got 3 croquetas, 4 prawns in garlic sauce, 2 small eggs with a bit of pisto, and some mussels. Except for the mussels, everything was delicious. The mussels on the other hand, were bland, just boiled, the sauce was tasteless and we didn’t like it. We got 4 small pieces of bread in total, priced at £4, so it was £1 per slice. As a dessert, we had some orange and chocolate cake, which was more like a tart. Apart from the orange on top, it didn’t taste like orange at all, which I didn’t mind, overall it was very nicely prepared. We also had a couple of pacharán. The bill came up to nearly £100, which we thought it was a lot for the amount of food we got. I understand this is London and the restaurant is in one of the poshest areas, but still…Be also aware that VAT is calculated later in the bill, and also service is included, which I’m not a fan of. I have also worked as a waitress when I was younger, so I appreciate the hard work, especially in a busy place like this, but I prefer to decide how much I tip I would like to leave, depending of how good or bad the service is. We both thought, as an experience, it was ok, but we wouldn’t be returning any time soon.

We were asked to wait for 15 min for a table when 5 tables were available. In the end it took us 5 minutes to get seated. Lots of clients left because they didn’t want to wait. Staff clearly didn’t want to bother having too many clients to serve. Took them ages to take our order. Staff was rude. Food was ok. We ordered a dish that was supposed to be for 2 but would really serve one. We won’t recommend or return.

Bad bread. Bad choice changing to that Sallys Bakery. Asda has better bread thanwhat we were served when ordering Pan de la casa. Pan de la casa used to be a great sourdough but instead now is a heavy plaster white thing that can not be called bread. Plus the butter spread doesnt taste anything. You used to offer a nice Spanish olive oil and some vinegar with the bread. Why change? The rest of the food was a bit mediocre. Manager gave us another bread (apparently the good one) but it was horrible too. The papas with sobrasada were ok but not great...... boquerones great, but thats the merit of the producer. The chorizo on bread...and rocket....is a bit sad. I don't know...I ahve been a client of Brindisa for years....and it has really changed. The last time before this one (at Borough Market Brindisa) I said to myself i was going to give it another chance. It was my first time at the brindisa South Kensington but it wasn't good.

Surprised to read reviews from disappointed diners and can only comment on our experience. Very busy crowded lunchtime but service was outstanding. Smart, engaged and knowledgeable. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious - the best of Basque. We couldn’t find anything to fault and everything to praise. The Huevos Rotos and the baby squid and grilled octopus were just fantastic and we really enjoyed everything we ordered. Will definitely return and recommend.

Dreadful place ….lots of tables that hadn’t been cleared from previous occupants . We asked for a table and were greeted with a shrug. We sat at a table that had dirty glasses still on it assuming it would be cleared. We waited 10 minutes before somebody came ….i think it was the manager who was rude and offhand in clearing the table. We left .I assume they were all having a bad day and couldnt cope with the volume. Maybe need to hire a new Manager with better organisational skills.

This restaurant is in the very middle of the main museum area of London, so "tourist central". It's London, it's well located, so it will be (very) expensive and it is ! Nice tapas, friendly/helpful service, great outdoor seating. (13.5% service charge)

The spot is nice to sit outside in the sun but the food is average at best. We had various tapas dishes to share and it was pre prepared. My dessert was inedible. The table next to us had meat and it looked good however. I left my dessert almost untouched and the waitress left it in front of me when clearing and didn’t ask about it. I’d rate the place as an average and overpriced fast food restaurant from my experience.

I cannot tell you about the food. We got a table. The waitress threw the tin down with the cutlery and napkins then literally threw the plates down. We were then ignored for 10 minutes. Despite making eye contact We left I have never ever had this sort of service anywhere. Just because you are ina busy area can you really excuse this sort of staffing? Disgusted And it’s not cheap

Visited with my family. The seafood didn’t taste fresh in our opinion. When addressed the issue to the manager he responded in a tactless way that he believes that everything is fine and perhaps “these are not our tastes” even though we have eaten seafood countless times. Kind of ruined the whole experience. Apart from this the charcuterie board was alright as was the potato tortilla.

Delicious tapas! Food and wine were amazing and fresh. It's a cosy restaurant with vibrant vibes, comes with great service too. We had a few small plates and about two mains to share - all the food were good.

Excellent attentive service throughout our meal even when it got busy. Good recommendations and the dishes were served tapas-like - all well prepared. The chicken with olives was a standout and so were the prawns in garlic and olive oil.

This restaurant was chosen by a friend of mine but I had to pay. The food was OK I suppose but nothing at all special. The main problem was that there was little of it and it was absurdly expensive for what it was. A few bits of chicken for £14 and an absurd £12 for a small bowl of gazpacho. My asparagus dish was three small bits of asparagus in a rather ordinary red sauce for a ridiculous £12. We asked for bread and this rip off joint charged us an outrageous £4.50 for four small pieces of bread, which should in any decent restaurant be free. No butter. To add insult to injury they add on an outrageous 13.5% service charge. Because of the situation I was unable to complain about the bill. I am very unlikely to eat here again, but should I do so, I will wipe out the whole service charge to right the balance.

Inexperienced staff delivering completely inattentive haphazard service, missing many opportunities to generate revenue. No management presence. Food cooking woeful. I run restaurants through London and this visit was eye opening for all the wrong reasons.

Initial impression was of a vibrant and very busy establishment. Our original reservation was for the terrace. This was ignored by the greeter who placed us inside and next to the “Family From Hell”. 4 adults ignoring out of control children shouting and generally obnoxiou! We asked to be moved due to the noise and original booking but was told we could not be even though there was empty tables inside and outside. Anyhow, apart from that and not being able to hear the waitress or each other, the food was excellent, fresh and well portioned. Very fair prices given the location.

As doses são muito pequenas, muito gelo nas bebidas. A quantidade da comida é bebida é super, pequena. Qualidade é ok, mas para comer algo para reconfortar a barriga tem de se pedir muitas coisas, o que vai tornar o preço super excessivo e não vale isso. Não recomendo, não volto.

Good service and lovely selection of Tapas which we both enjoyed greatly. All washed down with a couple of bottles of rose! Good coffee too I have a weakness for the ham croquettes and the deep fried baby squid - chopitos! Well worth a visit!!...

Always the best experience in Brindisa! Nice location to sit on the terrace and enjoy some Coca bread with Jamon with a bottle of sherry, in an ice bucket next to you. Service is great too, especially when Andrea is around. Will soon return!

Friendly service and good food. Don’t expect your food to arrive in any particular order, it just comes when they’ve cooked it in a bit of a random way, but if you can get your head round that then you’ll enjoy some really tasty dishes.

Have to say we visit here at least once a year when we are in London. This time service was a bit slow but did not bother us. As usual the food was excellent, and still reasonable.

We really loved Brindisa tonight! The food was super good and the staff very welcoming and attentive, especially our waiter Vincenzo who looked after us and made sure we were happy with everything. We will definitely be back! Croquettas, jamon and gambas our favourites.
