** Last-Minute Letdown - didn’t honor booking** I had a reservation for two at Casa Argentina to celebrate a friend's birthday. Despite confirming my booking through email and receiving a reminder, they canceled it unexpectedly by phone less than 30 minutes before my arrival! When I asked them why, it transpired it was due to a walk-in. It's disappointing when a restaurant can't honor a reservation, especially within short notice and on a busy and rainy Friday night. Won't be returning and wanted to share to save others from a similar experience.

Cozy little restaurant with an Argentine touch. The menu is accessible only through a QR code, which may slightly affect the ambiance. The starters, especially the empanadas and sausages, were enjoyable, and the wine selection was pleasing. The main course (steak), while just alright, left me with doubts about the homemade status of the fries and the absence of proper chimichurri sauce. The service was a bit rushed, and there were some challenges getting our dessert orders taken care of before 10 pm. The staff seemed preoccupied and not entirely accommodating, we must have left at about 9h45. In summary, the restaurant provides a genuine taste of Argentina, but there is room for improvement, particularly in the service department.

I have to say I was disappointed. The restaurant itself and the owner and staff give the place a good ambience. However only way to access menu and wine list is with a QR code and that's not always the best. Unfortunately the food was a disappointment. The empanadas were good but one was enough, we ordered a bread basket but that never arrived - we did ask. Our plates weren't cleared before our main course arrived. Chips were sent back twice because they were cold. One of my friends meal was supposed to include a salad but that was just a pile of rocket and a piece of lemon. I ordered a side salad and it was totally underwhelming, load of lettuce with a bit of tomato, raw onion and small amount cucumber. The wine we ordered was full of sediment, although I have to say good but it would have been better if it had been decanted. It's usual price if £37.99 a bottle. The desserts were all Dulce de leche based, personally not a favourite of mine. The Owner is charming and we did talk at some length with him, he hadn't realised the online booking system wasn't working properly. It was a real shame because living locally I'm always looking for somewhere to have a meal with friends. The place has a very comfortable feel about it, maybe I just went on the wrong day. I do know there have been some problems getting staff.

As an Argentinian living in London, I always feel tempted to visit restaurant in which Argentinian food is served, however, not all Argentinian restaurants cannot be called like that as their products are not from Argentina and because their menus include dishes from other countries such as South American and Spanish ones. The worst of all is that their prices are quite high pretending they are serving real Argentinian beef, what is not true. Well, Casa Argentina is completely the opposite of what I am saying here. Casa Argentina is a real Argentinian restaurant in which real Argentinian food is served and is prepared by Argentinian chefs. The menu includes most of our local delicatessens from starters to desserts, but I would like to point that all the beef cuts offered in Casa Argentina's menu are 100 % Argentinian, what are very different from other countries beef. Apart from that, staff attention is always great. They are all welcoming and, for those who are not too familiarised with the different beef cuts served there, they are quite happy to help with your selection. Casa Argentina also has a corner in which all Argentinian residents in London can find our favourite typical products such as alfajores, yerba mate, biscuits and sweets, empanadas ready to cook and beef cuts. Casa Argentina is not a big restaurant, in fact it is quite small, so it is very important to make a reservation before attending. The good part of its small size is that attention is more personalised. About prices, Casa Argentina is not a very cheap restaurant for attending it every weekend (it is not McDonald's or Burger King), but it is excellent for celebrating special occasions or just for eating very good food. On the other side it is not expensive either as its quality deserves it. Their prices are right for what you can get there so, if you are looking for real Argentinian food, Casa Argentina is the best place you can go. I absolutely recommend it.
