Sadly we had hoped to pop in when passing but closed and does not look like been open for some time pity as had been recommended to us as good stop point for coffee - cake and some local provisions

There’s a lot of good things about this pub - service and location particularly. But I was very disappointed with the value for money. We ordered a few dishes including the baked Camembert sharing plate which states it’s for 2 people. But the Camembert was the small, individual portion size - absolutely ludicrous for £10.95. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but don’t like (apparent) rip-offs like this.

service was slow as only one person was serving both the shop and the cafe but it was worth the wait for the hot chocolate and yummy cakes. .Good range of local cheeses, and savory meats on the deli counter, very good range of local brew real ales. Interesting craft shops on upper floor along with the well stocked community library. A very useful all round enterprise in an interesting building.

Stopped at this place after leaving Hay on Wye, and returning to Manchester. Menu read that breakfast finished at 11am, we ordered lunch items approximately a couple of minutes before and the person taking the order looked somewhat frustrated and said they still were cooking breakfast items and it’s not 11 yet. Asked if any pies were veggie, bluntly told No, only have veg samosas and that’s all there is, said in a cold irritated way. Ordered the veg quiche, tasty. Friend then went to buy a brownie, busy at counter, she had correct money and asked another server if she could help herself and was told Yes. At this point the original server said my friend should not have helped herself, again said in a cold irritated way. We’re very easy going, and I work in a customer based environment so I’m aware you have to be friendly, warm and polite for people to feel they have had a nice experience and want to return. We don’t live in the area, but if we did we would be put off returning despite the food being tasty.

Popped in to find now under new ownership, and much friendlier than on previous visits. Regularly use store, and more so now it has post office. Love the Makers mezzanine and have purchased several local handicrafts Have not eaten in cafe as live locally, but have bought food to take away and always delicious Wishing new owners all the best, looking forward to seeing new lines being stocked

Visited for a bite to eat & to buy some local fresh food to stock the fridge. Lunch was nice, a warm welcome was noticeably absent. The fresh food we bought after lunch wasn’t great, despite spending more than £70. At least five items went “off” very quickly or before their sell by date which was disappointing. We received a pretty frosty reception both at lunch and in the shop. Shame. It has the potential to do really well.

This little farm shop and cafe is a good place to stop off. The cafe serves good quality food, such as quiche, pasties and so on served with green leaf or cous cous salad. A good range of drinks also available - cold drinks from the fridge in the shop, fresh coffees and teas prepared as needed. This used to be part of a small chain of such stores. I believe it has now been taken over and is being run independently. Needs to be supported to make sure it survives.

We stayed here overnight and booked the restaurant for our evening meal. Lovely staff, in a lovely surrounding. It’s a shame it was dark so we couldn’t see the views. Nice selection of starters, mains and desserts and we managed to enjoy all three. In the morning, the breakfast menu was plentiful and the sausage and bacon from a local butcher were very tasty.

I went to order a coffee at 5:55pm this evening. The female barista greeted me by saying “for f*ck sake” because she clearly didn’t want to serve me so late in the day. I told her not to bother and stated I’d spend my money elsewhere. Shockingly appalling service.

Pleasant and efficient service. Good value food with plenty of variety on the menu and a well stocked bar. Also dog friendly.
