My wife and l stayed over night in our motorhome. We were made very welcome and had a wonderful evening with the locals. The beer was superb, 3 real ales on offer. We had Lasagne to eat while being entertained by live music, on offer two nights a week. What more could you want.

Visited with my family including my disabled daughter for Sunday dinner, we were absolutely blown away by the above and beyond service and beautiful food we received. My daughter was in her wheelchair and the staff went out of their way to make sure we were seated with plenty of space for her, we all had chicken roast which was all completely faultless, beautiful meat and lovely fresh, local veg! My daughter has a blended diet through her feeding tube and the wonderful chef blended her meal for us with no hesitation, it’s the little things like this that make all the difference. We all had a lovely time, highly recommend! We will be back!

Proper lovely old village pub with varied choice of fizzy ciders as well as flat ones, beer, lager etc too of course. Home made food at reasonable prices and everyone very friendly… including the landlord and landlady 😊 Live music on some nights and motorhomes welcome… ring ahead for where to park up overnight. Arrived too late to sit outside but plenty of tables in gravel beer garden… nice setting. See Google for more pictures. Will definitely be back!

We sent for Sunday lunch with friends. On ordering, one of our group queried whether the roast chicken was carved as she didn’t like meat off the bone and was assured that it would be carved. On delivery it was still on the bone. She politely pointed out this wasn’t what was ordered and the bar staff apologised and said they would sort it. A few minutes later, an angry woman who we later learnt was the landlady came back with a fresh meal as ordered, plonked it on the table and accused our group member of being rude and not being clear when ordering. This was factually incorrect, extremely rude in itself and a most unpleasant experience for us all. The other meals were adequate if you like small portions on small plates and frozen vegetables. Apart from the rude landlady, her staff were delightful. Go elsewhere!

My wife and I like to do one night stop overs in our campervan after a round of golf. We played nearby and found the pub through Britstop. We were met by the pub manager who had reserved a parking area and table for us. He could not have been more helpful and accommodating. We had a nice drink in garden and then moved in for a meal. Fantastic food in a proper traditional British pub. Lovely walks and very interesting local history. Would thoroughly recommend and hope to visit again. Nick and Andrea

Sadly the Sunday roast was disappointing. Boiled parsnips and other blanched veg really weren’t appetising for the cost. Beef also a bit chewy. Despite great location I wouldn’t eat here again.

Everything a proper pub should be. Excellent beer, food and service. Great for couples, groups, kids, dogs, you name it. Telephoned and booked overnight in our small campervan as a stopover on our way to Devon. They have one spot at the side of the pub for a small camper but we were also told that the local primary school, just around the corner lets you stay in their car park overnight throughout the school holidays for a small fee ( Honesty box on the wall) What a lovely greeting we received by Karl and we were made to feel very welcome. The village of Miserden was peacefull. beautiful and idyllic. We parked and stayed for the evening, drinks selection great, they also made me my favoutire Gin drink. We both had Sunday dinners, which we both really enjoyed. Beef was generous, veg cooked perfect and roast potatoes were superb! I had a bread and butter pudding which was lovely. Staff, owners and other village customers were really chatty and our eveinng was a relaxed , fun ,cosy and homely atmosphere. We had a great night and slept really well as it was really quiet in the evening. We had such a nice time on the way home from Devon, we decided to stopover again. As it was impromtu, we stayed in the School Car Park. School teacher arrived to work, who was really friendly and advided us there was a public toilet, open through the night , just a little way down, over the road. This was helpful for us. Again, had another great chatty evening in the Carpenters Arms and this will be our stopover when we travel South again. Remeber, your night is what you make it, join in converstatons, ask questions, speak up if asked if everything is alright or if you would like something, I asked for extra gravy and a special drink making, nothing too much trouble. Thank you to everyone, we felt very much part of the Miserden Community.

Popped out for Father’s Day lunch. Food ok, wouldn’t say outstanding. My husband had the roast which on appearance looked underwhelming. Gravy appeared watery. Went to pay the tab, paid, my husband then stated it was more than he expected. Requested a receipt and had been overcharged £10 + an £8 service charge (10%) of total bill bill high was wrong in first place. the service charge seemed a tad cheeky as you order at the bar and collect your own cutlery, napkins etc so wasn’t exactly table service. Would we return?…. Probably not

Visited on a busy Saturday lunchtime, having eaten at the pub many times over the years so expecting previous high standards to be met. Sadly it seems to have dropped off a bit. Several in our group had the burger, which in itself was fine (seemed to be good quality meat) - but the way it was served was quite poor. The burger was served on a dry bun - no sauces or relishes, no leaves, onion or tomato, no cheese: nothing. There was a salad and chips on the side, both of which were good - but overall the dish was a bit underwhelming. You don’t really expect to be squeezing sauces from sachets over your burger these days. Other dishes were better (pie was good, perhaps a bit too much gravy on the plate). As I said at the beginning it was busy and a very hot day - you could see the staff were feeling the pressure so maybe just an off day.

This is an old favourite, a traditional country pub without pretensions. In opening up after lockdown they have gone to great effort to comply with social distancing rules etc. which inevitably dampens the atmosphere a little but it remains an excellent venue to incorporate into a country walk. Prices for food and drink are very reasonable and not hiked up to recover lost business through Covid.

It's located in a beautiful but much overlooked part of the Cotswolds. There are plenty of great walks near by. We stumbled on the Carpenter's Arms on weekend away in the Cotswolds - in the middle of Storm Denis! We were made welcome by staff, landlord and locals - so much so that we returned the next day for another meal. All meals were excellent, and the range and variety of ciders a reason to visit on their own - my only regret is that I had to keep to a minimum due to driving away.If you want a "perfectly" manicured gastro-pub, then look elsewhere. However, if you want a genuine local pub, serving good food, used by locals and visitors alike and with character and warmth - in welcome and in a blazing fire - then visit the Carpenter's Arms.We will be back - hopefully with more family in tow.

A really friendly welcome at this characterful pub in a pretty Cotswold village seemingly unchanged in 100 years. If you are looking for gastro-pub surroundings, this may not be for you. Instead the Carpenters makes up for it with considerable charm - plus a wide selection of locally-sourced food (pheasant, venison) and vegetarian dishes at decent prices. Not forgetting the fact it is 2019 Camra cider pub of the year - go easy on the Old Rosie.

A great welcome when 13 strangers turned up in a quiet country pub for a birthday meal. Nothing was too much trouble and they even cooked a birthday cake. Good food patient service and the kids were welcome.

We recently had a wonderful meal here, the fishcakes were spicy as promised and there was a long menu for vegetarians. Also a gluten free menu. We will be going back.

I'm sorry to say, that after reading great reviews and having high expectations of what to expect....the experience was a huge disappointment. 6 of us booked in for Sunday dinner at 2pm,which started well,to be honest....as we were given a choice of the main room or a table set up for 6,in a separate room. We opted for the separate room and took our seats accordingly. After awhile a man came through to take our drinks order and I went 1st....."a o% Guinness please" sorry we don't have that "but I do at my other pub" OK then "could I have an elderflower please" ...."sorry we don't have that" again was the reply OK...."could I have a lime & soda please"....."sorry can't do that due to the trigger on the mixer not working" was the reply. OK...."could I have a lager shandy please"....."sorry can't do that either came the now familiar reply! By this time,it was getting embarrassing in front of the other's waiting to order their drinks and exacerbated,on the point of dehydration....I ordered a tap water.....which along with a gin & flat tonic didn't have ice in. Then.....dinner arrived. I had ordered the 3 meat roast, pork, beef & chicken (£23.50) and my expectations were high....well sadly it wasn't to be. The 3 meat roast consisted of a slice of pork,a slice of beef and a chicken leg plonked on the top...how bizarre! The meal itself was only warm and not piping hot as I would have expected.....after the drinks fiasco,I didn't feel able to complain without drawing attention myself in front of the other members of our party at the table. Finally....the bill came and as well as charging us for £2 for a lime & soda which I couldn't have, an £18 plus service charge had been added to the bill. That was the final insult.....£18 service charge for what exactly?? No drinks of choice and a luke warm meal. I wanted to dispute the service charge but again....I didn't want to draw attention to myself and possibly put my other party members in an embarrassing situation. I would like it refunded to be honest, as another issue I encountered while there....no soap in the soap dispenser despite visiting the toilet at the start of our meal and then again an hour or so later after the meal. I'm sorry, but I wouldn't eat there again or recommend to others to do so either......maybe it was "just a bad day at the office" for the pub on the day of our visit, but then the service shouldn't have been added automatically,if all of the above had been taken in to consideration.

Last time visited “ small Americana “ was 1.95. Then 2.10. Today……2.60. No reason despite costs…..to elevate to this price… There are unfortunately not a lot of “ good coffee shops in Dursley” could do with “Costa” or Coffee1 “ Wake up call……for these stupid prices…..if you want to “ stay open” I’d review all your prices/ ….or you soon will be “ gone” No one wants to fell “ conned” last visit for me!!

Stayed at the Frocester George and ate in the dining room whilst walking the Cotswolds way. My room was lovely- room 12, relatively recently done I think with everything you could want. Spacious room, organic tea and coffee, small fridge with fresh milk in it (yay!!!!) lovely bathroom. The meal was delicious, and the breakfast great, including a wonderful selection of fresh fruit. Would happily return for another stay if I am in the area.
