We actually had a bad experience here, but the way it was handled and the professionalism of the staff was incredible, and they more than made up for the issue. The flavour of the food was excellent and the staff we dealt with front of house could not have been better. I would recommend this restaurant.

We where at Cribbs for our daughters 6th birthday. Had no set plans for lunch but she fancied pizza! Our son is in a wheelchair and the other pizza restaurant was up a set of stairs and not accessible by a lift (we couldn't find it if there is and saw people carrying prams up the stairs). There was a bit of a queue for Carluccio's but only waiting about 5-10 minutes before a table became available. The whole team worked efficiently to serve customers during the busy lunchtime service. Our waiter was polite, engaging and very friendly. The food was great as were the cocktails we had with our lunch. I work in hospitality and have done for 10 years plus and couldn't fault anything. Spoke to the manager on the way out, he has only been there a short while but he certainly seems like he's doing a great job. Well done to him and the team.

Cribbs Bristol. Goats cheese, walnut and fig jam pizza served without fig jam! Offered strawberry instead! Couldn't they buy some in M&S? Why did they not warn us before cooking and serving? 😞 Don't contact me to say 'we are sorry and will learn.' (see previous review below). A refund or free meal would be best.

Part of a food court at Cribbs Causeway, this is a popular restaurant, but if you sit near the front near passing shoppers it can be noisy. That said, we arrived without a reservation and were seated quickly. The staff were pleasant but very busy and it took some time to take our order. One of our party is vegetarian and had difficulty getting something suitable as there few options, however she liked the Goats Cheese Salad. Risotto Di Mare, Chicken Milanese and Pancetta Mushroom pizza were all enjoyed. Desserts of Affogato with Coffee, Pistachio White Chocolate and particularly Chocolate Bread and Butter Pudding were liked. .

Booked a table online for 1pm. After waiting at the entrance behind two lots of walk ins, we were eventually seated after 10 mins by a very casual employee who didn't even bother asking our reservation name. Why bother with a booking system at all? Water and a glass of wine took another 10 mins, when we insisted on ordering lunch from a reluctant server - a not very inspiring set meal at £20 each for two courses. First course ok but bread overtoasted. Another 10 mins and main courses ricotta and spinach ravioli arrived. Undercooked pasta and a watery sauce. One hour twenty minutes after we arrived we asked for the bill, glad to be leaving. Our visit was disappointing, mediocre food and poor muddled service. Many tables not cleared for reuse and it seemed demoralised staff. Not sure we we go back ( then found out when I checked the bill at home our food had been charged as individual courses not the qualifying set £20 menus!)

We had always been fans but a while ago had a bad experience in the Solihull branch. Today in Cribbs, we decided to give another try. Surely it was only a one off in one restaurant. I had the Rigatoni Piccante, my wife had carbonara and we shared a salad. The Piccante had about 3 pieces of meat, wasn't at all spicy and only the very bottom of the pasta was hot. My wifes carbonara turned up as a solid lump and was barely warm. When eating the salad I found something crunchy, like egg shell in a couple of mouthfuls. We were left alone to eat the meal and when the waitress came to check, my wife did tell her about the carbonara, and we had left half the salad. This evening, I have become rather more familiar with the bathroom than I would like. We were shown, on the bill, that we have a 50% discount if we visit any Carluccios within the next month. I don't think that's going to happen.

Waited a while to be seated, ordered drinks which arrived quickly - Not able to order a pint as stated on menu so was given a bottle instead (£5.95 for 330ml), a bottle of coke £3.80 and a cup of tea for £3.25 (wasn’t asked what type I’d have liked even though it listed many on the menu so was given (in my opinion crappy Yorkshire gold)…Glasses were changed when we asked for clean ones. Told 3 different waiters/waitresses we did not want food - we decided this when we saw a lady changing her babies nappy whilst sat in the dining area (the restaurant is across from the toilets). Always love to visit as we love the food but today was exceptional service. Visited today with my mum and baby. Baby managed to grab my plate throwing my brunch all over me and the floor. The staff went above and beyond. Moving us and all our things to a nearby table so that we could sort ourselves out and getting us another plate of food whilst clearing up. On top of that they didn’t charge us for the replacement meal saying accidents happen. What was quite a stressful experience was made so much easier by the team. We were able to laugh about it rather than cry! Thank you so much.

Was told by the host there weren't any available tables even though there clearly were. Her excuse was that there were people coming back... for all of them??? There was a group of people behind us who I could hear didn't have a reservation either as we step aside, I was then shocked to see the host clearing up a table and offering it to them as we started to walk off. My only explanation for this is that as me and my partner arrived with our 7 month old baby who made a loud squeal noise (maybe she was excited at the thought of food who knows... she's a baby) I could see the host face wasn't too impressed by the noise so perhaps this discouraged her from offering two hungry parents and their young baby a table. As an ex waiter/host myself its a shame to see the immediate FOH member of a restaurant be so dismissive and uncaring. My advice if you've got a young family maybe go to GBK who were far more accommodating and sweet to us when we arrived at the door. They couldn't have been more helpful in fact.

I must state that whilst I will review, I can not judge food quality. This is purely due to never being served. As stated in other recent reviews, the wait was absurd. Attended at around 11am, maybe 6 other customers sat. Taken to our seats and then left. After around 15 minutes I went to the bar area and queried how I could order. Abruptly told that a server will come when free. A few minutes later we were approached. Ordered two simple drinks. Time continued to drag. Couldn't wait any longer, apologised and left.

We should have read other peoples reviews before we went. The service was terrible. The server that greeted and seated us was polite enough. From there we were just left for around 10/15 minutes before my partner went up as asked for service. The response he got from the manager was “someone will be with you when we’re free”. Bear in mind there were only a few other people in the restaurant and the manager was making drinks whilst a waitress stood next to her with a tray just hanging around waiting for an order of drinks to be finished. We eventually got our order taken, though no apology for the wait. We then watched the manager try to work out how to make one of the drinks from a sheet. It was clear she didn’t have a clue. It was at this point we cancelled the order and left. I can’t comment on the food and drinks I would just suggest people avoid it due to the rude and incompetent staff.

Possibly the worst experience I've ever had. Myself and family came here for lunch Monday afternoon. It was dead quiet, yet after sitting for nearly 20 minutes the waitress came and took our order. We ordered from the set menu. The starter came first and was delicious. But after this we waited over an hour for our mains and they obviously forgot as the waitress came back over and asked if we'd had our starters yet?! We then received our mains which was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. It was some watered down poor excuse for spaghetti with hardly any sauce and not much in the bowl (pic for reference). We then waited ages after and they came to us again to ask if we wanted dessert even though we'd pre ordered already ! Come on guys ! Overpriced with dreadful food and poor service. The bill came and I loathed paying nearly £70 for that awful food.

This was a difficult review to write as it was such a mixed experience. One server was quite friendly but the rest of the staff were miserable and one was borderline rude. Service was very slow and inattentive, it took an hour to get two burgers. The food was ok, quite tasty for the most part but i specifically asked if the burger was cooked through as opposed to served medium rare as I detest pink beef burgers and would not have ordered it had it been served pink, considering their health risk and I also just don’t like the flavour, I was assured they are cooked through and not pink and unfortunately that is not what I received.

I went with a friend just for a coffee and a tea. The shop was fairly empty but no drinks menu was brought to us so we could see what was available. Nearly fifteen minutes later, we asked a waitress to come and take our order (we'd given up waiting for a menu so went plain). The drinks came in an acceptable time. Then, no-one came near us, either to check that everything was OK or to see if we wanted anything more. In the end, we called over the waitress and asked for the bill. No tip: no-one deserved it. If you want to sit in a lovely, light airy space and be ignored, this is the place for you. Such a shame: it could have been so different.

It wasn’t our first time here. It has a big name and reputation but in reality it’s not top notch. It has perfect location on the corner of the food court. This used to be such a nice place to come after some shopping. But has declined. The waiting staff were very friendly. The restaurant was just about clean enough but the menu's and the floors were really grubby. The starters were all fine but this was because not much cooking needed for the burata, tomato salad and some prawns. Then the mains came, 3 beef ragu pasta. The beef was not a ragu, it was large chunks of stewed tough beef. We could not eat it but did eat some of the pasta leaving the beef to the side. The desserts came at all different times. Both the canoili and the doughnuts were disgusting, raw in the middle Obviously the chef cannot cook. The manager did not charge us for the food we just paid for our drinks , this was fair. Booked a table via the Carluccio's website for the Cribbs Causeway restaurant, for 5.45pm. Arrived and ordered drinks to then be told around 6pm they were closing early as they had a chef shortage, so we rushed to order. Shared 2 starters, the meatballs and bruschetta. The meatballs were barely warm, so were sent back. The bruschetta was basically tasteless tomatoes on bread, not a hint or garlic and barely any basil. Thankfully the cost was removed from our bill. The mains were OK. However the Chicken Milanese is extremely overpriced for what was essentially breaded chicken (no hint of rosemary in the breadcrumbs), a smattering of rocket and gem lettuce, with 3 halves of baby tomatoes. I would not book another. With every increasing costs, I would rather spend money elsewhere and ensure I am getting the quality I am paying for.

Carluccio’s excellent legacy is being sorely undermined by this slapdash branch in Cribbs Causeway. We arrived at around 11.30am last Saturday morning and waited in a cue ( which several people eventually left) whilst the well meaning waitresses cleaned and reset the empty tables making sure that the didn’t make eye contact with anyone waiting in the cue to be served. Then the extremely unhelpful manager eventually came over after putting the palm of his hand up to the waiting cue in a “ do not enter “ gesture and said ( get this) “ Yes ?” to which I replied “ A table for two please “ “For what , because we’ve finished breakfast and we don’t start lunch until 12” he replied. As it was now 11.45 I said “ how about we come in for a couple of flat whites and when 12 o’clock comes around we will order some lunch.” He said nothing and showed us to a table. The lunch was pathetic, a couple of bruschettas with a tiny scattering of lettuce and one tomato cut in half. I had to ask for olive oil. On the up side the waiting staff, who spent most of their time all gathered around a serving station, were charming… all of them were really nice , however this once favourite eating spot was let down by surly management and very average food.

A disappointing first visit to carluccios. We popped in for a quick lunch, sat at 11:40 and was happy to wait to order food at midday. We ordered drinks (one coffee, one coke) and it took 25 minutes to arrive. Even after seeing another table receive theirs who ordered after. Shortly after drinks we ordered food, I ordered the chicken milanese burger and my partner the spicy sausage pasta with tomato sauce. Food came rather quickly! However, pretty average, my partners dish with hardly any sauce - it just looked like plain pasta with sausage. My burger was OK, however half way through found quite a big bone, quite odd after googling this should be a flat fillet… either way - these things happen. Our waitress was quite quiet but seemed friendly, however did not have a check back on our meal. When being cleared picked up the bone and popped it on the plate without comment… I did then mention before she walked away that this was in my burger. Not really acknowledged and didn’t see further comment to the manager. Asked for the bill which was given promptly, but was then left sat there for a while waiting for payment so we went up to another waitress to pay ourselves. Not ideal service considering the wait was noticed PLUS the bone in food… Not sure if service is included and wasn’t put on as a reflection on the bill but we had no further comment or a goodbye. Real shame!

Ordered a carbonara from Carluccios. And am extremely disappointed. Rather than a creamy egg sauce I received scrambled egg and spaghetti (as I thought this was cheese on top I took a bite and tasted purely spaghetti and scrambled egg). Alongside this the Guanchiale tasted burnt and was hard. A classic Italian dish and an evening ruined. It is barely edible. Surprising for a more up market Italian restaurant. However, upon reading other reviews (as I should’ve done before ordering) recently this particular Carluccios clearly needs a lot of work and better direction to reach the consistency and standards expected at such a price point. I would Avoid. Go to Zizzi or Bella Italia for basic italian food cooked correctly. Even Frankie and bennies is a better option. Edit: tried to salvage this by eating the garlic and mozzarella forcaccia I had ordered and, failing any other description, it tastes like nothing. Tastes as if the olive oil used to coat the bread contains very very little garlic or seasoning of any kind. Only thing I can’t fault is the Coca-Cola Zero I ordered. Thank god they aren’t able to ruin that.

My partner and I were shopping in the Mall and needed a quick bite to eat for lunch. We were seated quickly and offered menus for normal and gluten free meal options. Our drinks came very quickly and the mocktails were really tasty. The waitress advised due to requiring gluten free meals, the manager had to come and take our order. Within a few minutes, the manager had taken our orders. Our meals arrived really quickly and were so good. I had a gf chicken and mushroom risotto, and my partner had gf seafood pasta - both were full of flavour. We could pay for our tab easily via the QR code on the table. I would recommend this restaurant to all.

Poor service and average food. We waited 45 minutes for a salad, whilst people coming after us were already eating. The waitress slipped water over the table and my husband’s napkin and just left it. The reason for the lateness of the food was due to the ‘tuna still [being] under the grill’, however, it came out cold. My goats cheese salad was extremely limp!

We visited on a Saturday. If you want lunch orders are only taken from 12:00 noon onwards. We were served by Ida, who was helpful and charming. We nibbled on olives and the bread selection with olive oil and a little balsamic. I was a little disappointed that the mixed olives only contained about 4 black olives but not that big a deal. I ordered the tuna steak, seared, no more than a minute either side. What I received, strongly resembled a piece of shoe leather. Ever the optomist I cut into it, just in case, beige coloured throughout. I explained to the server that I'd asked for my tuna steak to be seared and that this was over cooked. He duly took it away, returning 10 minutes later with exactly the same piece of tuna but even more over cooked! I politely explained, yet again, that this was not what I ordered and could I please have the seared steak that I'd asked for. Another 10 minutes elapsed and another tuna steak was brought to the table by a manager. This time it was perfect, but what a faff to get something edible. My husband ordered the mushroom risotto and paid extra for truffle to be added. He couldn't spot any shavings on top and asked our server if the truffle had been forgotten. Apparently the truffle was included in the parmesan crisp. Very disappointed, especially after having had several excellent lunches in the Leamington Spa Carluccio's.

We visited today based on a prior visit during which the service and quality was excellent. However, sadly we cannot say the same today. On our last visit to this outlet, the staff were very accommodating of my children’s requirements, and adapted the menu to suit them. Today, after I asked if my son could possibly have a plain beef burger instead of a chicken burger, I was told a blunt “no.” I pointed out that the chicken and beef burgers on the adult menu are the same price, and so really there should be no issue - seeing as the chicken burger served for children is exactly the same as the adult one - but was again told this was not an option. We were therefore forced to order an adult burger for him at £16.50, taking away all the accompaniments (no cheese, no lettuce, no mayonnaise, no pancetta). The staff forgot our starter - we had to prompt for this as the children had finished theirs before we had even been given ours. The starter when it came - mixed breads with a tiny dribble of balsamic - was very underwhelming and not worth £5.95. When we received our mains - which were simply placed in and among our empty starter plates with no attempt to clear the table - we were told there was no tomato sauce. When we queried this - as my son will not eat his food without ketchup - we were told that the manager would have to go and buy some. When the tomato sauce eventually arrived - so say having just been bought, it was a half full Heinz bottle - definitely not new! One of our main meals was very sub standard - supposedly chicken in a white wine sauce with crispy potatoes, but instead arrived as a big brown congealed mess. My mother did her best to eat it but left most of it as it really did not taste good. We were aware that little else had gone right with the meal and so didn’t want to complain again - at this point we just wanted to pay up and leave. This was a very disappointing visit and we will be very unlikely to return.

We arrived at the place, we had our drink and food quickly, the waitress was good but the food wasn't great, we found some tin foil inside of the dishes and the other meal some pasta must had been warm up in the microwave barely hot, inside cold and not really tasty. Then we've been waiting a long time before someone came and check because out of 3 staff 2 were on they phone in the restaurant infront everyone and only one waitress was working. Such a disappointment

Such a fabulous place to start the day with their perfect breakfast or carry on the day with their dinner. Delicious meals, friendly staff, class services and relaxing environment.

Carluccio’s Bristol Cribbs Causeway has gone a long way downhill. Being kind, the food was really average, no real taste. Child starter never arrived, child lasagne not available although adult one was!? Wine was extortionate - we could have bought 3 bottles in a store for the price of one large glass. Manager was turning people away without a reservation due to staff shortages and was so in the zone that we had to repeat “we have a reservation” . This place would have Carluccio turning in his grave - instead of standing out for good reasons, it’s now remarkably bad.

Quite a nice breakfast, but smaller portions for the money. The coffee was superb by the way and I would recommend this. The atmosphere is always going to be difficult given that it is situated in a retail shopping venue.

Oily, tastless food, and not cheap for the quality. The staff were trying their best, but seemed fundamentally depressed to be there. Won't be coming back.

Good coffee. Terrible, overcooked breakfast - even the toast was burnt. It felt like there was no care taken in preparation or presentation. Not worth the money.

We first went to a Carluccios’s when we visited london in 2002 and have been every time to one of their places each time we come back. But this place was terrible. Front of house didn’t provide us with the fixed price menu even though it was prominently advertised. We chose from the standard menu. My cesarecce piccante came with a single slice of overcooked spicy sausage. The pasta was not so much al dente as undercooked and chewy and just above lukewarm. My wife pointed out to the waitress that her mixed leaves in the chicken Caesar salad were old and wilted. Perfunctory offer to mention it to the kitchen. The rest of the salad was bland. Very poor overall given the price which should ensure a consistent standard. Should’ve gone to the gourmet burger or Mexican place along the way.

Breakfasts always enjoyed recently but on latest visit very nauseous and stomach upset after eating when at home. Noticed a half hearted incomplete attempt at cleaning tables by waitress and that was in my view! Lovely coffee but think will stick to pastries in future.

Very poor meal for the £50 spent. Chicken milanese was beyond basic, as was the carbonara. No effort, no passion. Sadly, Antonio Carluccio is no longer around to give this place the kick up the backside it requires.

This is one of the Cribbs Causeway coffee shops with assorted patries and snacks. I had the latte which was well produced and brought to the table. Staff were friendly and offered to give table service as I walk with sticks. It's situated at the food centre and competing with other various fast food and restaurants. Would certainly use it again due to its central location.

Visited at lunch on 29th April 2023. We had not been to Cribbs Causeway in years and had not been to a Carluccio's for years too. Decided to have lunch at Carluccio's. A very pleasant, Italian host (the gentleman with dark hair) greeted us. We had the option to choose where we would like to be seated as it was not very busy when we entered. Waitress, Sofia was very lovely. Though the restaurant does cater for gluten and dairy intolerances/allergies, which is very much appreciated as they have quite a lot of options, Sofia was very aware of what could be served without having to consult the kitchen. As Sofia mentioned that she is Coeliac, I guess she could empathise with me as it is not a choice to avoid gluten and dairy. Sofia clearly takes pride in her customer service. It was a pleasure to have such a lovely, polite waitress. The only negative regarding the food would be, Carluccio's should have a better range of desserts for gluten and dairy intolerance instead of just having sorbet as an option. Sometimes, we would like to have something more substantial like a tart or a slice of cake and in this day and age it should not just be a sorbet on offer. Saying this, Carluccio's is not the only restuarant who has this problem when it comes to desserts for people who can't eat both dairy and gluten but seeing that the rest of the menu is quite good for people with these intolerances, the desserts, let me down. However, the great customer service received and the tasty food that all 3 of us enjoyed, are reasons to return. Have to add that some of the seating does need repairs as the rips in the leather/fabric is not very attractive looking when being shown to a table with rips in the seat. I do not know if this is an issue that Cribbs Causeway Maintenance/management should deal with, but it would be worth addressing.

No idea what the other reviews are talking about - read them before coming to Carluccio’s for the first time and wasn’t 100% sure but wanted to make our own mind up anyway. We were greatly surprised as the food was amazing, delicious and plentiful, service was fantastic and quick, and the atmosphere was lovely and calm. We ordered the mixed bread to start which was yummy and our mains were fantastic. I particularly thought the minute steak was so tasty - and huge portions too! We used the £10 voucher valid for a few days and staff took it no problem. We will definitely be returning! Thank you.

Unfortunately bad experience for food. Flavorless "Calamari Fritti", First course "Penne alla giardiniera" with tasteless pre-cooked pasta, overcooked in some parts and dry in others and ridiculous spinach ball. Ricotta and spinach ravioli also tasteless. Friendly staff.

Two third of the tables are empty. Yet, the starters came after half an hour. It's been an hour since we have arrived still waiting for three pizzas.

Myself and my daughter came for the Tuesday steak offer. I have to say the steak was cooked beautifully! Tasty chunky chips and salad. Also came with wine as part of the deal! We had a wonderful night and the staff/service was fantastic as always! Jimmy, Jen and the team always make you feel welcome! Thank you again.

I recently visited Italb and it was great! The atmosphere was cozy. I tried the pasta and it was delicious. The pizza had a nice crispy crust and the toppings were tasty. For dessert, I had tiramisu, which was the perfect ending to the meal. Overall, a lovely place to enjoy some authentic Italian food! Also, I’d like to thank the staff for being so friendly and making sure everything was perfect for my birthday.☺️❤️
