After a previous positive experience here, my boyfriend and I came for a meal here in December and had a less than positive experience due to an extremely lengthy wait for food and the fact that we felt squashed in to a small corner due to them adding extra tables to the restaurant. We let this slide as it was Christmas and so, understandably, everywhere will be that little bit busier and the food was still lovely. We came for a meal again last weekend and were welcomed and seated very quickly, with our drinks orders being taken and drinks being served in really good time. This is where it starts to go wrong - after a 35 minute wait for our starters, they were served barely luke warm and, while we both agreed the food was tasty, we felt the food has been left to stand for a while before being served. Nevertheless, we did enjoy our starters and I would definitely recommend the dough ball stack. After a significant wait - 1 hour and 15 minutes after our starters were served - our mains arrived at the table, but without the chips my partner had ordered, which the waitress assured us would be 2 minutes. Our main courses were superb - Bella Italia really do the best lasagna ever, so it is such a shame the service is lacking. My boyfriend said his pizza was delicious, but unfortunately his chips look another 15 minutes to arrive at the table, at which point we had both finished our main courses. He was told the chips would be on the house, although on receipt of the bill not only were the chips not removed but 3 extra drinks had also been added. This took a further 10 minutes to be resolved. I will say, our waitress was absolutely amazing but the kitchen staff seemed so disorganised and the extremely lengthy wait for food has honestly put us off returning to this particular branch of Bella Italia. A huge shame, because the food is delicious, just not delicious enough to make up for the shockingly bad service!

Waited an hour between starter and mains with two hungry kids. The staff had forgotten about us. All they said was 'i can only apologise'. Actually what they could have done is compensate us. They then told us they would get the pudding quickly, and again we waited upwards of ten minutes and had to remind them that we needed to leave quickly. Very poor service. Food was also a joke- we were told we would have garlic dough balls, and we got dough balls without garlic. We were told we would get mushrooms al forno with a side of garlic ciabatta, and what we got was a side of a nub of plain bread which was not enough to pick up the sauce. Would very much not recommend and we will not be visiting again

me and my friends dined here the other day for a birthday, the food was amazing, the drinks delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. however, the real stand out was our server jana. she went above and beyond to make our experience special. she was so helpful when we couldn’t decide what to eat and made us feel so comfortable. a lovely experience, special thanks go to her xx

The staff were amazing, our server Sam was very attentive, helpful and hardworking!

No one took our order. We were waiting for over half an hour we had to ask someone to take our order. Then it took an hour to get our food which was only warm. Garlic bread never arrived. Food was finished before we got a second drink and then the order was wrong as they bought 2 cokes instead of Fanta and a coke. Very poor service

Pats was a kind an accommodating hostess. There was a delay on our starters in which she compensated us with a round of drinks. When the food arrived it was piping hot and full of flavour. Great service despite the delays.

I visit once a month with friends. Dannielle looked after us exceptionally well when we met for lunch yesterday (Friday). She was very kind, quick and attentive.

Danielle was fabulous. We only pop in every so often but she remembers us and what we normally have, so the service is excellent. Food was good too. Would like to have had the 4 cheese pizza but that has gone from the menu. Thanks Danielle, you are fab

A rather hostile welcome as they were too busy on a tuesday evening so didn’t have enough staff. Told we couldn’t eat as not booked, but then said we could wait but it would be a long time, we were fine with this but she then changed and said that actually we still couldn’t eat. We went outside and booked s table for 30 mins later, she clearly wasn’t amused and said she couldn’t seat us until our time. So many empty tables this was a ridiculous comment. Would recommend you choose a different bella italia is you want a warm welcome! Customer service training +++ required here

If I could take stars away I would. Awful staff abruptly and ignored us. No pizza as they had run out of dough. Salad starter took 45 mins to arrive. We left after 90 mins I would definitely recommend NOT going there.

Visited for lunch with a friend, Tuesday lunchtime. Waitress very nice and friendly, started with what was not available from the menu, at least 5 dishes, 2 of which were veterinarian options so the choice for us as vegetarians was immediately very limited. We ordered drinks, lemonade, they did not have any, so we ordered sparkling water, 5 minutes later the waitress came back to say they had no sparkling water. I would certainly have left at this stage if I had not already spent my Tesco vouchers for the meal. We ordered the baked camembert to start, not available (surprise), Our second choice starters were nice - Bruschetta and garlic mushrooms. For main I had past pomodora with mozzarella, ok but very bland, my friend had mushroom risotto which was actually rice in mushroom soup. Their saving grace was the poor embarrassed waitress who was polite and funny, I would be surprised if they have any returning custom. Perhaps a candidate for Gordon Ramsay's programme.

Absolute shambles of a venue. Italian restaurant that has ran out of pizza bases and dough balls, cannelloni and pretty much everything. Waited over an hour and a half for our main. One guy walked back in fuming after being handed an empty pizza box with no pizza in. Shocking!!!

This was mediocre, bland plain food. Service was initially really rushed but then took ages to get the bill. Wouldn't rush back.

Danielle and her colleagues welcomed us after our diabolical service from Las Iguanas. Danielle serviced our meal very well. My daughter’s drink didn’t have enough syrup in and she gave us some extra and the tomato bruschetta! Brilliant and highly recommend

Decidedly average generic large chain ‘Italian’ food. Over cooked spaghetti with a bland Bolognaise sauce . But the real treat is to go the toilet afterwards. No toilet paper and urine all over the floor. Delightful. You might want to wash the soles of your shoes when you get home.

Thursday lunchtime.....shown to table and given menus. Went to order drinks, diet cokes, and then after 5 minutes, the waitress returned, saying that the fountain machine had broken, but they had soft drinks on the menu. We then ordered diet coke bottles from the menu, and again, the waitress stated that they had run out of them. We moved onto food, and my husband ordered a burger. The waitress then informed us that they did not have any burgers at all. With this, we started to leave and was met by the manageress who started to try and explain the problem and offered us free drinks (which they didn't have)! I tried to tell her that nobody told us any of this when we were given the menus or shown to our table. We have been numerous times before but won't bother again.....went next door to Frankie and Bennys and had an excellent meal.

Simin was great, she greeted us warmly and was so helpful all the time. She was very friendly and quick. Overall, good food, great environment, good music, and a lovely person like Simin mad our experience very pleasing.

Service was very slow, took 30 minutes for someone to come get our food and drink order. We did the 2 set course and when arrived (30 minutes after) the starters and mains arrived together. My pasta was over cooked and got send back. Then took a long time to get replacement and the servers came to clear the other people food and did not realise we were waiting, and didn’t know what was going on . Will not be coming back

Booked a table for after movies, early evening Saturday. The movie was great (Venom 3) and looking forward to dinner here. We'd arrived a little early so had to wait for our table although plenty of unoccupied tables . Okay, I forgive that. They turned away plenty of walk-ins. Bookings only. Husband ordered meat feast pizza, I ordered half pizza with salad (virtuous that it was), with two glasses of wine. Food arrived in good time. Food very disappointing. My half pizza was primarily dough, very little topping, so very little taste. Small salad, all served on a wooden board. I generally cut the crust off (too much carb), so ended up with very little pizza. Hubbies full size pizza was not much better , although slightly tastier, in that the topping was sparse. No offer of black pepper or parmesan, which was offered on a previous visit, during the day when food and service so much better. Decided not to waste our hard earned money on a further drink and dessert, so left. No tip left as food and service poor. I will add we are happy to tip but only in positive experiences. I was still hungry when we left so picked up a burger from BK onvway out. Not so virtuous! Sorry Bella. We won't be returning. Second disappointing meal here. Much better places to eat.

Oh my.. where to even start... the most disrespectful, rude, racist restaurant I have ever come across! Service was diabolical and because had to repeatedly ask for cutlery..sauces and main meal (after others in our group had already finished eating their main!) Members of staff were bad mouthing and talking disgusting about a member of our group, loud enough to be heard and when approached and asked not to speak badly about her they responded with they didn't hear or understand her order when asked if it was because she is Asian the staff responded with yes! Absolutely disgusting! Just to make things clear my friend speaks perfectly clear English so this was just an excuse to be racist towards her. If there was a language barrier why was no attempt made to try and get her order? Because they heard perfectly fine and chose to act in a disgusting manner! Absolutely terrible. Anyone who chooses to go here should proceed with caution!

Have eaten in the restaurant at Cribbs Causeway and had lovely meal. Staff attentive and friendly. Last night we had a deliveroo delivery. Never, ever again. Garlic bread was not the same as that when we ate in. Sadly, all we received on delivery were two small triangles, tasteless, dry and not worth the £5+. Chicken fries ok, although cold. Husband loved his pizza and my pasta dish was probably better than when I ate in (spicier for sure) Lemon cheesecake, tasty but the tirimisu was dry and tasteless. That's the last takeaway on delivery ever again. Not worth the money!

The poor waitresses (x2 during lunch) work tirelessly whilst the restaurant is under staffed. This i feel is a management issue which then has a knock on effect for the customer waiting times and experience. Food great but long waiting times (45mins between courses) meant we walked out before desert arrived after settling the bill.

We had ordered two set lunch today. We only had the starters and drinks, then waited for 45 minutes for the main dishes. There are around 8 tables with customers, I don’t why it took so long. Finally, we had to cancel the orders as they said it would take 20-30 min more to ready the pasta.

I had to give 1 star as it wouldn't let me do zero. Went in and before we even sat down a server was asking if we wanted a drink. Ordered food, garlic bread & dough balls for starters. A pizza & risotto for mains. 50, yes 50 minutes later no starters. When I asked what was happening I was told we don't have many chefs so it will be a while. Why couldn't they tell us when we went in? We had cinema tickets and planned 1 & 1/2 hours for food so there was no time to wait any further for the starter as we would never have had the time to eat our main course. So can't review the food as we didn't get any. All I can say is shocking service. They should mention any problam they were having when you enter the restaurant, not leave you for nearly an hour. I tried asking various servers but they all ignored me as they obviously knew what the problem was. Awful

Probley been there a bit to much and so losing the feel for it. Food not great pasta bit chalky. Service show you have discount card at start as instructed but still being you while bill. Had the bill three times once before it was right as added on a drink but it was a refillable one

I wouldn't recommend it if you have an hour or less to eat. I'm here semi regularly with a group of just 4, because while it takes a long time, the food is good, but it seems each time the service gets slightly worse again. I've been in twice recently where they said they'd bring cutlery round shortly because it wasn't on the table already, only for them to forget and we have to ask once our food is there. Then there's times they don't ask if we want drinks at all so we're sat waiting for 10 minutes until they come over to take food orders, then we have to additionally ask for drinks before they speed off. The bill takes another 10-15 minutes to come after being asked for, and I'd understand all this if they were packed but only 4-6 tables are being used when I'm in there. Additionally, I wouldn't recommend sitting next to the bar, as the fly situation there is pretty horrendous. Also if they ask if you want any sauces and you say yes, be aware they do charge 65p for it for a tiny pot but they don't mention that it just appears on the bill.

Website clearly states open at 11am on Saturday. Arrived at 11 and the doors were locked, still locked 20 minutes later and we were ignore by the staff inside when we tried to speak to them. Had to look elsewhere to eat. Disappointed

Had a great birthday party here yesterday, with table of 9 people. They treated us like royalty! Fantastic service - anything we wanted, they produced and quickly. My mum was 95 and very difficult to feed, but they cooked something special ial for her and were wonderful. We'll done to you all! Xx

Visited Saturday 1st after doing some shopping. Upon entering, I gave my name and reservation time and one of the waitresses just rolled her eyes and threw our menus onto the table. Luckily, our server was much nicer and the food was amazing. The only downside was that we couldn't order from the 2 course menu as everything was showing out of stock on the ordering site but yet was available to order off the normal menu making it more expensive which was convenient.

I had an hour or so between Hospital appointments and needed somewhere to get some work done on the laptop. I was offered a table with a power socket and got to work! I ordered a meal and a couple of drinks while I was there. All good.

A very filling meal. The 3 course set menu is good value for money. Our server, Pat, made us feel welcome which is always appreciated.

We have now been sitting at our table for 45 minutes. When we arrived, the greeter snarled at us that despite all the empty tables, the kitchen was backed up and she couldn't sit us for another 15 minutes. We asked if we could sit at a table while we waited out our 15 minutes. The greeter turned her back to us and told us to follow her. We sat for 30 minutes until we got the attention of a server and asked if we could order. She said she had been instructed by her manager not to take our order until they told her. So now we are sitting here almost an hour and nothing. Treated like we are an inconvenience and an annoyance. If it wasn't for my family all being sat and tired we would have left by now . Pathetic.
