Fue fantástico, toda la comida estaba recién hecha a pedido, caliente, grandes porciones, comida italiana muy auténtica servida en un restaurante moderno, el personal era muy amable y atento, buen precio también cerca de Southwark stn y enfrente del Union Theatre.

Al principio, cuando lees los precios en el menú, puede que te desanime un poco, pero la cantidad y la calidad que obtienes lo hacen. Ambos pedimos Insalata Di Halloumi, que fue excelente y abundante. 175 ml de copa de vino tiene un precio muy razonable. El servicio fue bueno. El restaurante estaba muy limpio y se veía bien. Por eso nos detuvimos aquí.

Pasé la noche en la ciudad y encontré esto en mi tarjeta de comidas del Times. La comida era excelente y muy bien presentada. Lo recomiendo a fondo.

We were staying at the Travelodge and with a full on day in London this was an excellent choice as it is next door. Staff are welcoming, and the food is excellent and authentic. Plus they cater for gluten free - pasta and pizza. Highly recommend a visit if in the area.

Visited Carlo’s many times, recently it has gone downhill. Service extremely slow on a lunch break waited for 35 minutes for four dishes and restaurant was not even busy! Drinks served warm in a warm glass. I had the seafood risotto the risotto was hard and the sauce was watery and the prawns were translucent. Other people in my party also had inedible meals. The prices seem to have drastically increased £17 for lunch is very over priced for the area especially with the low standards provided.

Great place went for a stop off coffee and decided to also get an omelette well it was great the portion size was so big I could not finish. Staff were so polite and atmosphere was amazing beautiful relaxed music cheered up my morning will definitely return.

The menu is wide. Four of us chose fish and one had a pizza. The swordfish was fresh and well presented. Service was very friendly and efficient.

I visited this restaurant twice last week, I had mix seafood salad for starter that was tasty, really enjoyed the chicken Cajun for my main course, Authentic Italian taste, freshly prepared, good quality food and wine. reasonably priced. the staff were helpful and attentive. I am quiet fussy when it comes to cleanliness at public places I have to admit this restaurant was very clean specially the bathroom. conveniently close to southwark tube station and Tate modern. highly recommended for lunch or dinner.

Had breakfast here Saturday morning, cooked to perfection, great service. The food was all cooked to order and all grilled, very healthy. Reasonably priced, found as we were staying at the Travel Lodge next door. Highly recommend the full English

We had a late dinner in this lovely restaurant following a theatre visit under the nearby railway arches. The restaurant is 10 mns from Waterloo and near The Cut. We had mains of rigatoni and risotto and both were delicious.The staff were very helpful and there is ample space in the restaurant with tables well spaced out, a rarity in London. Definitely recommended!

Essendo in zona hotel e avendo il bimbo che aveva fame e voglia di risotto leggiamo le recensioni e decidiamo di provarlo soprattutto perché ci garantiscono il gluten free. Il locale non è per nulla male, cosi come il menù a prima vista. Visto che mio figlio aveva voglia di risotto lui e mia moglie optano per un risotto Salsiccia e Broccoli. Be chiamarlo risotto sarebbe stupendo ma purtroppo il risotto bisogna saperlo fare. Alla vista ci vengono già i dubbi, ogni verdura al suo interno è praticamente intera tagliata a pezzi grandi e croccante, la salsiccia lasciamo perdere. Lo so siamo abituati bene in Italia ma era meglio un riso in bianco. A me è andata molto meglio devo dire, un buon Petto Di Pollo In Crema Di Limoni E Capperi, dove la crema era davvero gustosa. Le cose negative erano le patate servite assieme, ancora con la pelle non sono un amante e il petto con qualche nervo ma devo dire un piatto non male. Abbiamo bevuto acqua. Il conto nella norma di Londra. Nota positiva al servizio. Purtroppo non posso consigliarlo, magari c'è andata male con il risotto ma veramente ci voleva coraggio a mangiarlo.

Abbiamo mangiato qui una carbonara (con prezzemolo), un secondo di pollo con patate e verdure e la pizza, tutto buono anche se ovviamente non come in Italia. Prezzi consoni. Personale cordiale, servizievole, disponibile.

Passavamo spesso davanti a questo ristorante perché ci veniva di passaggio andando o tornando dalla fermata metro di Southwark e ci chiedevamo come potesse essere la sua cucina "italiana". Premesso che io e mia moglie, quando siamo all'estero, difficilmente sentiamo la necessità di mangiare la pasta, per una o due o anche tre settimane riusciamo a sopravvivere senza... Però, questa volta, spinti dalla curiosità e dal consiglio di una coppia di nuovi amici indiani, una sera ci siamo decisi ad entrare. Abbiamo usufruito di un'offerta che prevedeva un primo e un calice di vino a 13 sterline a persona. Abbiamo preso due tipi di pasta diversi, una penne alla calabrese e una fettuccine allo scoglio. Beh, mi sembra logico che gli ingredienti delle fettuccine non potevano essere freschi, ma era comunque commestibile! Le penne un po' meglio... Il vino era un buon rosso. Non abbiamo preso altro quindi non posso giudicare altro. Da sottolineare l'ottimo servizio del personale ( un saluto e un ringraziamento particolare a Savannah!). Valutazione globale positiva.

Intenté este lugar basándome en buenas críticas y el atractivo menú a un precio razonable en su sitio web. No decepcionado. Servicio muy acogedor y amable, ambiente encantador, porciones generosas y comida muy sabrosa a precios razonables. ¡Sin mencionar que tienen sillas muy cómodas, incluso en las mesas exteriores! La pizza fue un poco pastosa para mí, ya que prefiero las cortezas más delgadas, pero aún así lo disfruté. Sin embargo, la próxima vez iré por la pasta, ¡ya que mi amigo ordenó el penne y se veía delicioso!

We visited every morning during our 4 night stay at the Travelodge next door. The family really enjoyed the yogurt, muesli and fruit option as well as the different toast toppings and cooked items. Service was always with a smile and it would have been 4 star rating if it hadn’t have been for several mix ups with orders. The mix ups were always sorted quickly without any fuss.

Recently ate here when staying at the adjacent Travelodge. Does good value breakfasts and nice pasta dishes for lunch or early dinner. Friendly staff and nice decor. Would certainly recommend if staying next door.

We were staying in a hotel next door and after a lazy morning and check out decided it was time to eat. Had a look at the menu outside which showed breakfast type items plus some paninis,sandwiches, small lunch items. We decided it catered for both our likes (my partner wanted breakfast and I wanted a sandwich or similar). When we entered we were shown to a table by a nice gentleman (I assume manager) who provided us with menus and a wine list. The menu provided was more a full lunch type menu and a waitress nearby obviously saw our confused looks and asked if we wanted the breakfast menu; she then provided it. It was so varied my partner changed her mind and ended up not even ordering a breakfast. We did see breakfasts being brought out to other patrons and they looked amazing! We opted for a Carlos panini with a soup and a 'My favourite' which was served with salad and chips. There was a slight wait for food as it was cooked to order which we prefer. For less than £30 we had 2 meals,plus a coffee and 2 cokes which kept us going all day. Would highly recommend.

We got breakfast rolls, a chocolate croissant, and a mocha. Pretty good Everything in the case looked amazing.

It was lovely to be back here again for breakfast aftera good while away. The staff are really welcoming and friendly and the restaurant is clean and well decorated. There is a great choice of breakfast and lunch items available to suit all tastes and every thing looks delicious. Breakfast rolls are fresh and tasty and more elaborate options exist up to the full breakfast. The place is a couple of minutes walk from Southwark tube station and extremely convenient for the hotel I stay at which is virtually next door. A great place and I look forward to my next visit.

Lovely full English breakfast (no 2 on the menu). Great coffee and orange juice too. Good quality furnishings gave it a classy cafe look.

Had a ceaser salad and a fish pasta, both great quality and well priced. Pleasant surroundings, friendly staff and clean. Would recommend for a lunchtime or evening meal.

Located right next door to the Southwark Travelodge this place was a great find. Our party of 5 all really enjoyed the breakfasts and hot drinks at this restaurant. Good quality ingredients, nice setting and great service we all stated we’d visit again.

A hidden gem next to the Travelodge hotel Southwark. Lovely ambience, food and service that we almost missed out on due to their not so good website. Don’t walk past this lovely little bit of Italy!

Staying in London, we visited here twice, once to grab a sandwich and go (delicious - my husband said his BLT panini was one of the best he had ever had). The next day we popped in for breakfast, he had a full English & I had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. The food was perfectly cooked, nicely presented, service was exceptional both times - London is full of Prets and coffee chains, sometimes it’s nice to support more local businesses. A great little find.

Popped in for a lunch, we asked to share a pizza and was glad we did as the pizza was very large, it was tasty and the cafe had a nice atmosphere with friendly staff.

I booked a table at Carlos kitchen to meet some colleagues for appraisal meeting on our lunch break. We really enjoyed our time there, great food and lovely environment. We were served by friendly and smiling waitresses. It is a busy place which I understand is due to its good quality of food, they offer plenty of options and reasonable prices. The restaurant is nicely decorated with a mixture of classic and modern themes and it is nothing like the generic cafes and restaurants nearby.

Right next door to travelodge Southwark had an amazing breakfast! Freshly cooked tasty bacon and sausage. Fantastic service.. would definitely recommend

He estado aquí para desayunar varias veces cuando me hospedé en Southwark y siempre lo disfruto. Hay una amplia variedad y todo (vegetariano) que he tenido ha sido recién preparado y bien cocinado. El café es bueno y el servicio muy atento y bueno. El lugar es limpio y acogedor y no tiene prisa si se encuentra con otras personas por negocios. Las comidas se sirven durante todo el día a precios promedio para la ubicación.

Used this cafe on Union St, Southwark whilst staying at the Tate Modern Premier Inn.

A group of us went here for our lunch break at work. The service was poor with the waitress serving us not knowing basic information about the food, such as if it has nuts or not, let alone much else. When the orders came, half of us did not receive the meal we had ordered. We had to either send it back, or after pointing out the glaring mistakes were offered free food, however some of us were pressed for time so did not get to enjoy the relaxing lunch we were hoping for with so much going backwards and forwards.

3 of us visited for breakfast before our day out at the Radio 2 festival in a day at Hyde Park. We were staying next door at the Travelodge.

We ordered a smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich and a panini with the same filling. The waitress did not seem to know what a panini was as my husband was asked whether he wanted a baguette or a ciabatta. He re-iterated a panini and eventually a ciabatta arrived. The bread on my sandwich was so thick that I left most of it. The filling was good though.

My niece and I stopped in here for lunch today after going to a Tate Modern exhibition. Very near both the Tate Modern and Waterloo Station - as points of reference if you are in this area. We had a really super late lunch + a bottle of wine, and coffee afterwards. The food was extremely nice - If we lived nearby, I would frequent this restaurant. The only negatives: No one came back over to ask if our food was all right. It was very nice, so no problem, but it would have been nice if the server had asked.... we had a pepper shaker that was not working, and a gentleman (owner/ manager ?) did notice us fiddling with it, and immediately asked if he could help us...and tightened the top. So, very nice of him...!!!!! Then my niece proceeded to chat - and finish our wine ---- at no time did the server come to remove our plates. Over 30 minutes went by. Nor did the server ask if we wanted dessert or coffee. Well, as far as marketing goes, the server should promote both - in my opinion. We did say we would like our finished plates to be taken away, and we wanted coffee, please. The coffee was good, and the server was pleasant. I would be very happy to come here again. Visitamos La Cocina Carlos en dos ocasiones durante su estancia en el Travelodge de al lado. El restaurante es muy luminoso, ventilado y moderno, la comida era deliciosa y el tamaño de la porción generosa. El menú era excelente, el servicio muy bueno y los precios muy razonables. Nada de poner una cruz. Recomiendo encarecidamente

Carlo's Kitchen is right adjacent to the hotel I was staying in so was extremely convenient for breakfast/brunch or a casual snack. It is a 'no frills' place but is clean and welcoming and serves a very good range of breakfast dishes which can be modified to suit individual wishes. Vegetarians are well catered for. Service is friendly and fast and coffee is good too. Prices are very fair for the location and ambiance.

We'd missed breakfast at our hotel next door; seeing the menu in Carlo's window, we walked in and... it's huge!

Nothing special but does the job. Wide selection of food from vegetarian to meatlover. Price range from £3-£9 I think it is average London price for breakfast. Was really close to our hotel so was handy. Staff was really friendly. Good.

Good food, service and setting make this a good venue for a bite to eat. Staff were friendly, the food well cooked and the coffee was pretty good too.

Carlos looks small from the outside but inside it goes way back and has plenty of seating. The breakfasts are good as are the lunches. Sadly not open in the evenings anymore which is a shame as the pizzas were excellent.

Met my daughter in here for lunch as I was at a meeting round the corner from her Halls of Residence. The food was great and a good choice. Service was very good and prices were reasonable. Thank you Carlos Kitchen.

The chef here knows how to cook. Very tasty food, ranging from an English breakfast to lovely Italian fare. Catering for business breakfasts, lunches etc but also family meals.

We had breakfast at Carlo's on five consecutive days last week. We were staying at the Travelodge next door.The food is very good; freshly cooked and a wide and varied menu from traditional English to sandwiches and hot ciabatta with interesting fillings. The staff are attentive, friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. We will certainly be going back there when next in London.

We had been to this place before when we stayed nearby. Always a warm welcome. Excellent coffee and my husband was impressed with the tea. They do good soya milk as well. Service is excellent. Warm and friendly. We ve only ever eaten breakfast in here. 4 times now. And it's always been superb. Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed porridge with honey and a flat white coffee. Good service, tasty and quick. We will return again tomorrow for breakfast.

Visited for lunch. Staff were slow in their service. Sandwich choice good and reasonably priced. It's bigger than it looks outside with seating inside. Not sure I'll be rushing back when in that area.

Great little place for a coffee or a quick bite to eat. Ask for the sandwich menu at lunch times as they don't always remember to hand it out. Service is generally pretty quick and whilst the food is a little pricey I've always found the quality to pretty good.

Amazing place. A must place to eat. I have ordered many times, they are quick as well. Ordered vegetarian pizza and lasagne. It was properly made and for take away there is drink free

Visited many times. Cosy and welcoming. Good choice of coffees. Pleasant setting, a a cafe area and area for eating food. Staff are attentive. Sometimes not enough staff but they are always polite and helpful. Never tasted the food but it does look appetising. Maybe soon.

It took a while to get our breakfast and when we finally got it two out of the three orders were wrong.

While staying at the Premier Inn Southwark Tate Modern we ate breakfast here every morning. Outside of rush hour it was easy to get a table, the staff were very friendly and the food was great. Between us we tried, muesli, pastries, toast and a cooked breakfast. All were very tasty and none were over-priced. The cafe is a few min walk from the hotel and a couple more minutes to Southwark tube so definitely worth checking out

Spotted this place which looked great but I was in a bit of a hurry. Plenty of room inside, excellent service, very friendly and professional staff, good range of Italian food, much available quickly. Was served and managed in and out in under 20 mins. Obviously you could take things in a more measured way, but this suited me very well on the day.

Walked in here without any plans and were very pleasantly surprised by some very nice authentic Italian pasta.

We had the worst most disgraceful service in this restaurant! Lunch was using the Tastecard! The service was appalling! We did not want to pay service charge because the pizza took forever to arrive, then their attitude at first taking orders was the worst!!! Attitude from the waitress! I will never ever again go there again! When we did not want to pay for service charge they threaten us to call the police! This sounded so ridiculous they also made us late at work! I will also write a complaint to their site!!! We have left disgusted! The pizzas are awful also!

Stopped by on the way the the Tate Modern and had a most wonderful, generous sized coffee. Just the thing for an art adventure. A lovely café that made us feel very welcome the moment we stepped in. Well done guys!

Had breakfast in here on 2nd Aug it was beautiful. Excellent friendly staff.They could not do enough to please nothing any trouble.

We stumbled upon this place whilst looking for lunch.It's a beautiful little venue which must look very funky in the evening. The day:lunch menu was varied and whilst they do not have a specific children's menu, they are happy to make smaller or half portions of what is already available. The front of the venue serves as a take out, deli style.We opted for the sand which menu as a light bite. I can highly recommend the antipasto choice, it was super tasty, with a lovely side salad. Staff were really friendly, good choices, portion and pricing.If I was in the area again I would definitely try the evening menu.Lovely find!

After a long morning walk visiting the British museum and St Pauls we stopped at Carlos for lunch. It was almost empty and we weren't sure about eating here. We thought we would try it anyway as it was clean and a nice room. We ordered a pizza margarita with arugula and spaghetti bolognese . The pizza was delicious and the spaghetti bolognese was excellent. It was as good as I have had in Bologna. Service was professional and the price with bottled water was only £20.

Had lunch with friends on Saturday afternoon. Nice environment and good location, just few minutes walk from London Waterloo station. Staff was nice and helpful. Main course was good enough for an adult, price is reasonable.

we had a lovely breakfast here on our arrival to london, we stayed in the travelodge located right next to it, everything was so delicious including the cappachino, freshly squeezed orange juice and our food, lovely place with very friendly staff

My son said he had the best bagel of his life here. Keep in mind he's only seven so haven't had a NY bagel. He enjoyed it because it was done on the press when we requested toasted. I tasted it and it was quite yummy. I had the BLT and it was on a good size baguette and it was very delicious. The food is fresh and good service. I definitely recommend.

We have visited Carlo's three times now and the food and service is excellent! Breakfast menu is served all day over the weekend and the omelettes look super yummy. We ordered from the main menu; pizza for hubbie and roasted salmon with bok choi and tzatziki for me. Both delicious and washed down with a refreshing pint of Moretti beer. When we next visit London, we will be making sure we visit again.

Often call in for a business meeting with a client, this is a small independent and has been improved over the years, offering a full range from breakfasts and coffees to a gull lunch. Always welcoming the food is freshly prepared, coffee is first class and value much better than most of the chains around the place.

This is a cute little place to grab some lunch (particularly for friends or couples).I stopped for lunch here with my partner before heading off to the Tate. The waitress was very friendly and patient (we stood outside looking at the menus for ages before deciding if we wanted to eat there, let alone what we wanted to eat). I chose a lasagne and my partner chose a carbonara. Both dishes were served within about 8 minutes and were piping hot when served. They both tasted amazing and I do not regret our choices. We actually sat outside as it was a sunny day - there were little tables and chairs outside in a cordoned section as well as ashtrays if necessary.I must say - their toilets were among the cleanest I have ever seen in a restaurant and you could smell that lovely lemon-bleach when entering the toilets!Really good food and great cleanliness!

I cannot fault the food & service but I wish they would serve hot food on warn plates!A breakfast cools down very quickly when it is served on cold plates!

We have been going to Carlo's for the past 4 years for breakfast when we are in London. The staff are very friendly, great service and the sausage and egg bloomer is to die for! We wish they opened for dinner as the lunchtime fayre looks amazing. All home cooked and delicious. If you're passing go in for even just a coffee Best cappuccino in Union St. Well done!

Found this place on our way to the Union Theater, which is a 2 minute walk away.Excellent service, nothing too much trouble, food excellent.Highly recommended.

Visited for tea and hoping to do breakfast tomorrow. Good food, very reasonable prices and lovely staff. Highly recommended.
