Caribbean Tastes in Nottingham

Very tasty meal that satisfied our taste buds. On our visit to Nottingham we popped to get a light dinner of oxtail, callalloo, plantain and fry dumplings. The portion sizes were just right for us to share between the two of us and was lovely! Clean plates all around. The oxtail was super succulent and tasty. Best dish was the callalloo which was seasoned with just enough pepper. The plantain was soft and the dumpling was just right size. The meal hit the spot. Thank you Caribbean Tastes.

I received a meat dish and I am a vegetarian. I have never eaten meat in my life. The order of steamed veg x2 didn't arrive but instead something I have no idea what it is and I thought it smelt odd and I went to touch it and realised that its meat.

The driver was very helpful, I ordered the food to my friends address by mistake and he made sure I got the food at my address .. if there is any confusion please feel free to contact me

Food was horribale haven’t ate it it’s just bone and over cooked chicken the plantain is dry and hard like drinks are warm veg is tasteless

Food is diabolical! No cheese/ cheese sauce on the macaroni cheese, rice n peas lacked flavour. I won't bother again!

Ordered over £50 worth off food when delivery had stuff missing call the store said nothing they could do part from call just eat for a refund customer service wasnt the best & when asked if they would resend it said no because he gave it to the just eat man but when asked him he said there was only one bag overall i wouldnt order from here again.

Delivery time was quick. Wrong food delivered and I’ve tried contacting just eat and they have not yet got back to me.

I have ordered from these before. There is no difference between a normal size and large size meal. 3 pieces of oxtail is not enough for a large meal. The large rice portion is also the same as a normal size portion. Not happy 😒

Rice quantity was fine Mutton was fine Dumplings were fine Cheese and macaroni was a disgrace I don’t expect big portions for side but you paying for pasta a cheese my 6month baby could eat that amount

Really enjoyed my meal, the jerk chicken and rice. I couldn't say how authentic it was, but was a good portion and very tasty. I would certainly try again

wouldn't ever order here again. paid over £8 for large mutton. and got 4 tiny pieces in the tiniest tub. ordered the Jersey chicken which was dry, dry and dry through and through. even when I rang to ask if they got the size of the mutton wrong. they said no, and that's their large size. would hate to see their small size. Will never order again.

The rice was stale and seemed like the bottom of those pot. The oxtail was chewy and hard. I got a large but it was more like a small. Avoid ordering from here

They forgot to deliver my dumplings and mac and cheese. I called them and they said they forgot and lied that they'll deliver it shortly. Called them back 5 times no answer and now they're closed and i don't have my food. Wotless bunch. Never again. Waste.

Fish looked old but there is no veg with fish rice was cold had to warm up food disgusting won't order from you again abysmal

Not jerk chicken had it many times much closer to grilled chicken. PSA this is with extra extra jerk sauce

The stew chicken was a bit too rich and thick, more like a thick bbq sauce. Didn't enjoy it. Wouldn't buy again.

Order for 1st time and it be last.the fish was good 5 days ago it was so dry and hard. Order large meal got small. Had curry without goat only bones. Macaroni and cheese was hard and disgusting! The worse food experience I've had.

Ordered chicken rice pea, mutton soup and fry dumpling. Mutton soup didn't turn up, chicken was foul, I literally spat it out, rice and pea were alright.

I was looking forward to this but left underwhelmed. The Jerk Chicken, Rice and Peas were chucked in a microwave for 3mins to heat it up but it was cold by the time I walked the 2mins back to my digs.

Ordered a portion of chicken strips. My chicken was hard after being in the microwave for 5mins in a polystyrene box. Could taste the polystyrene on the chicken too. Had to throw it all away. Wasn’t not happy.

Gheeze! Ordered brown stew, there were three pieces of 90% knuckle chicken. Absolutely disgusting! Avoid at all costs. For 7.50 absolute rip off! Wouldn't feed it to the dog

Didn't get what I ordered states rice and peas got rice and kidney beans. Asi don't like kidney beans it went in the bin won't use again

Ordered the mutton, it was more like mutton soup, all gravy very little meat. There was no veg in the meals. Bought fried fish, not even a little piece of onion or pepper with a whole fried fish. This is a real barefooted style of food presentation. I am not impressed.

Food was stone cold, and it was delivered really quickly so the travel time wasn't the issue, also the plantain was missing and the mutton was all bones, only 3 pieces of meat

Ordered two ride and peas and curry mutton on Uber eats and the order came without the two curry’s, just the rice. Blocked my phone number from calling. Dissatisfied

This is my favourite carribean take-a-way place in Nottingham. If you want proper Jamaican food, this place is it. Guys the only thing is the last few times I’ve ordered there has been no Mac and cheese and it’s the best so please get that sorted. Love, love, love the food, so much so my husband and I want to hire them for a private party.

Food over an hour late (2hrs from order time). Delivery driver didn’t know where he was going, we had to come to him, not sure what I paid service and delivery charge for?

Love this place yes food was late but I gathered they was busy. Food arrived hot and delivery driver was apologetic and polite. May have been late but worth it food is always great and well cooked.

Ordered via uber eats. DO NOT order the Mutton. Got about 3 pieces of actual meat, rest of the tray was just full of bone and liquid. Complete waste of money!

Never ordering here again. One time they just sent me completely the wrong food, and the next time I paid for two meals and they charged me the full price but only sent one. On top of that, they try to charge £6 for a can of coke on Uber and didn’t change it even when I told them the error. How hard can it actually be just to check you’re sending the correct order? And then they don’t bother picking up the phone when you call to tell them. God knows how they’re still in business when they clearly aren’t interested at all in providing a decent service.

Food is nice when it arrives but been late on more than one occasion. Try to contact by phone and no one answers!

One of the worst food you might have avoid even if it is for free I had her food and had to spend the whole night in the toilet. I personally believe hygiene standards agency need to double check this place.

Horrible, Horrible Service service!!!!!!!!!! Ordered food via Uber Eat, not Only did food take almost 1 `& 1/2 but they sent no fork no spoon like is a anti utensil really them dry pot, food dry and crusty like peanut shell. the fish wasn't bad but it mad fi cut mi throut like the bride of Chucky. I had to Uber 10mins to get some utensils from dem after trying to call them for over 15mins. when I got there no sorry, no apology just that mi need to order fork and spoon with my meal and gravy fi di dry fish. I have never been to any restaurant and had to order utensils and I tried explaining to the woman but nothing. no sorry no apologies nothing. its the 2nd worst restaurant service I have received after spending over £22 and them waa mi eat wid mi hand like dog.

I can’t believe they warm the food up in the polystyrene containers in the microwave! That causes cancer for gods sake! How can health and safety regulations allow this to happen! These people have no common sense! They do this all the time. Shocking !

Food came early and was hot, but food was not nice, mostly bones in the curry mutton, the dumplings were like rock balls, the macaroni cheese was awful, a lump of pasta with half melted cheese put on top, the strps of chicken was hard and over cook. First time I've ordered from here and will never order from here again....

I placed my order through Uber eats, the order took 1 hour & 40 minutes, which in its self is poor. I ordered rice, peas & mutton, I received rice, pea & mutton gravy (No meat at all) the rest of the food ordered was correct and was cooked well. They have a contact number, but don’t answer it. 2 stars on the basis the other parts of the order was nice.
