Cardomon in Walsall

Visited Bombay (was Cardamon spice) on a recommendation. Food was delicious and service was really good. We will be back.

Mainly Kerala menu NOT tandoori but equally tasty. Had selection off the menu across the four of us and everything was excellent especially the onion bhaji starters enough to share! Well worth a trip as this is surprisingly large tucked away you can pass it without giving it a second look, just give it a chance don’t think you’ll be disappointed

Placed order for a takeaway - £35 meal for two. Was told would be a 15-20 min wait, ended up being 45 mins. Could hear other customers complaining on waiting times for their orders too. Food was not worth the money - not as described, masala fish was two tiny pieces and no onions/mushrooms. Such a shame as we’ll now use a different curry house.

Ordered a takeaway said be about an hour no.probs waited an hour & half still no curry was told on its way 30 mins later still no curry rang up to cancel took them 2 mins to show on my phone they hadn't even done it disgusting

Takeaway - delivered on time. Lamb chops were delicious. Chicken and lamb in mixed grill were overcooked and dry. The chicken was also very salty. This is normally my favourite curry house but this was quite poor so I think I’ll try elsewhere next time - sorry

Our first and last visit. Samosa came out FROZEN in the middle. Replaced but no real concern. Service was shocking!! on 2 tables eating on a Friday evening at 8pm. Now I know why! We sat for a good 10 mins after finishing our meal and had to ask for the table to be cleared. Had to ask for the bill twice. No attention to us at all. Very poor service. Most of the food was good but definitely wouldn't return.

Best Indian around! I can’t say enough about this restaurant, the staff are friendly, welcoming and very attentive. My husband is lactose intolerant and it wasn’t too much trouble for them to help advise what dishes he could have. The food is fabulous, we wouldn’t go anywhere else for our Indian!

Lovely meal. Lamb was tender and meal was sooooo tasty. Will definitely return. Delivery was spot on. Overall excellent

Food never turned up!!! We placed our first ever order with this restaurant and we waited 1.5 hours before ringing to see where our food was!! We was then told at 20.18 pm that the driver had just left with our order. We waited and waited and at 21.15 pm and many of attempts to contact them , could not get anyone to answer me. I have now given up and will be going to bed with no tea as I can’t eat this late!!!! I have now called over 20 times with the engaged tone.

Went last night for a family meal, it’s local to us and have been there lots of times over the years, but last night the food, service and atmosphere was first class, from the waiting on staff, to the management to the beautiful authentic Indian food all superb. (They even do half curry’s for the smaller eaters ) we are so lucky to have this “proper” Indian restaurant on our door step.

Used this restaurant for years, my recent visit had a number of issues which i have communicated to the owner who after some communication has now chosen to ignore me. As we are in the midst of a global pandemic this business has poor procedures. Seating less than 2m spacing, staff talking to customers with masked removed less than a 1m from guests. Online booking not working at booking and poor track and trace on guests. Restaurant was using menus ,which as it turns out where "take away prices". These menus where reused. No explanation was given by waiters so this is a misrepresentation of prices and must be illegal practice. Waiters more interesting in chatting to customers than attending to orders. During our visit we we unfortunately sat by a table of lairy guests uttering the "F" work loudly this was unchallenged by staff. As i pointed out to the owner, i would have thought that his priority would be to retain customers not lose them, he said the restaurant had an "easy approach", i would use a different word "Sloppy approach" Very disappointing experience in a restaurant i used to rate.

Have been visiting Cardamom spice for 20 years now , food is always amazing if we visit or opt for a takeaway, pleasant staff good service, can see why the main chef has won so many awards. Steve & Sue Cornish.

we had a take away and it was disgusting. couldn't taste my curry for the mint they had put in . made it very grainy and vile

i came with my family like alwayes they greated us and made us welcome, we booked in and they made us a table my dads friend works there his name is Mo he is our friend and he is always talking to us in his free time he is friendly ,kind and always makes our night enjoyable /my dad says make me somthing spicy ,i try food out of my comfort zoom and its always amazing the desert was amazing i always enjoy the the staff and the owner let my nana pat take a photo we allways go there when my dad gets payed my name is casey and i am 10 i always enjoy the service of the cardomon lounge they are kind i rate this 5 star and ill come more often

We've eaten at many Indian Restaurants in the last 15 years, this place is so poor. Decor looks like it's 20 years old, the chap serving us was more interested in his reading material than being attentive, the chef had to bring the food out, when we mentioned our Keema Naan tasted like fish, we got told it's because it's cooked in the clay oven, and because they don't use colouring... ive never heard such B.S in my life. Why hasn't any previous Keema tasted like fish... EVER!? It's clear they prepared it in something they'd previously cooked a fish dish in. He completely refused to offer anything to compensate for this. My lad had a dish that was so sweet, it must have had half a bag of sugar in, he ate 3 fork fulls, I couldn't even bring it home to eat the day after. My lad wouldn't even drink out of their glasses because they looked 'Grey'. All in all, a complete waste of £50. Robbery. We'll never enter the place again. You shouldn't either.

Visited not so long ago service was lovely food not as up to scratch as normal! Normally food is lovely though

I’ve been using this place for the last 30 yrs,in which time there’s been 3 different owners.I must say the food never fails you, in that time I’ve probably complained about 2-3 times.We have a curry every week ,if not a sit in meal we have a take away,We have taken many friends to the cardomon who have never been disappointed. The portions are all large and they certainly don’t scrimp on the amount of meat you get in your curries.The prices are excellent,We took friends last night, had poppadoms,a curry each, shared rice and nam breads, couple of cans of pop.£44, that takes some beating.The staff are brilliant,Zaff,Kal,Ash and the guys not to forget chef are so helpful and friendly.The menu is amazing, but I must admit I tend to stick with my chicken Parthia most times.Keep up the excellent standards Cardomon.

This has to be the best Indian food anywhere in the midlands I have meals and take aways from here on a regular basis all my friends that I have taken here love it

Cardomon always make you welcome and always have a standard menu with standard prices. Food is good especially the Tandoori Mixed Grill and the Special Biryani

This is my favourite balti house, by far. Good value for money and excellent food. The service is always great, too.

Myself and family have visited this restaurant countless times always good food, great atmosphere and very well priced. Would recommend booking a table as quiet often on weekend in can be busy.

Si quieres un precio razonable, gran sabor y luego has que intentar este lugar. El único inconveniente es la zona de espera, fuera de los papeles de día y asientos cómodos, también saben que los clientes habituales son como el personal son mucho más agradable con ellos.

Gran lugar para una toma estado comiendo aquí durante años. La comida siempre es bueno caliente y a tiempo. Ajo chili pollo Balti es precioso. También hay pollo puré chatt ofrecido a los perros. Keema hongos arroz es para morirse. Si tuviera que quejarme de...

Siempre nos dan nuestra comida de Cardamon en Brownhills. Tomar distancia, entrega o comer en - siempre es bueno. Las raciones son grandes. La comida es sabrosa y caliente. El personal es amable y educado. ¡Nos encanta!

We go to the cardomon on a regular basis and have to say it is the best Indian restaurant we have eaten in. The staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. That along with the authentic balti dishes the food is served in make the restaurant what it is. If you like a bit of spice, I recommend the South Indian garlic chicken.

A nice little Indian that is warm and friendly. Lovely atmosphere, full of warmth and laughter. Generous meal portions with a great taste. We visit each time we are in Birmingham and we are never disappointed!

Have been here as part of a large party and the food and service was great. Recently had a takeaway and food was ready within 10 minutes. The dish did not seem to have had much care taken with it, more just quickly shoved in a pan then a box. Both visits were after 11pm. Will try this place again but only in a group eating in.

We use these regularly. Food is good although I think they may have changed chef because it isn't as good as before but still the better option locally.

A real local gem of a restaurant. Consistently high quality food and great value for money whether eating in or taking out.My favourite is the Balti Lamb Masala closely followed by the Lamb Balti. I cannot recommend highly enough!!!

I have been here a few times and fount each visit quite pleasant however have forgot a few times that it is only Cash payment only and had to walk a good 5 mins to the nearest cash point. (Not good n the rain :-)

Went this evening for nice meal out with the family it's the second time we have been here and both times it has been lovely nice food,lots to choose from good service and value for money would recommend it.

Having used this place now for few years now I've finally decided to let you know what your missing out on if you love your Indian food.You can take your own drinks with you if you like.not long after we were shown to our table we were brought out papadoms with onion salad and mint sauce which always goes down well.We decided to go for a starter each I went for the tandoori king prawns which were absolutly delicious while the wife went for the chicken tikka which she said was very succulent and went down well.For our main I went for my regular of chicken tikka Jaipur which I had with fried rice which is not a very spicy dish but you can ask them to ramp it up a bit if you like but it went down an absolute treat and well recommended.The wife opted for the chicken tikka rogan josh with boiled rice and was equally superb meal with both of us having clean plates and full bellies we gave it before asking for the bill which was £25 and worth every penny.The staff are all very friendly and booking may be advised as it did start to get very busy.

The best Indian restaurant around the Brownhills Walsall area in my opinion, my family and I and there are a few of us share the same opinion , The staff are very friendly and obliging and the choice of menu is excellent a meal for every taste including the English alternative. The takeaway service is also very good.

We visit this restuarant regularly and can honestly say that it is the best around Brownhills area for miles. Never had a bad meal staff always friendly and food delicious can't beat it ! Thanks

Nice relaxed friendly atmosphere none pushy great helpful staff. The meals are all at great prices and you get a generous servings, like our meals from there.

Good value for money and quality food. The only issue I had was they seemed to welcome the regulars and be more talkative and welcoming to them, I think as new customers surely they should make us feel just as welcome. 10% discount for takeaway collection is a good offer.

Recently moved to Brownhills and we haven't tried any curry houses in the area so we gave this one a go this evening and we were very impressed!There were a few regulars in there but we weren't treated any different, staff very attentive and the food was superb, adding the perfect amount of spice to my Chicken Sagwala after I explained I didn't like it's too mild neither did I want it to burn my mouth!!! Very happy will definitely be going back! Thanks Guys!!!

We have used this restaurant on lots of occasions most recent was December 19th and January 24th both were excellent meals everyone in the party enjoyed the food. We use it for take away meals too these are also excellent would recommended.

We were recommended to this place by friends of ours, who are quite fussy eaters, and having eaten in at the restaurant and had one of the best curry ever we now regularly order take outs from them and get them delivered despite there being two or three Indian restaurants local to us.The staff are friendly and the food is always hot even after a 3 mile drive...if you are looking for a great meal at a reasonable cost give these guys a go, you won't be disappointed.

Wow!! This place has greatly improved, the ambiance & cleanliness is excellent. Staff were so relaxed, attentive & friendly, it was a busy Saturday night but the atmosphere was very relaxed & laid back. The food was amazing, we experimented with dishes not tried before & wasn't disappointed, we were also checking the place out as we have guests staying over Xmas, we will definately be reserving a table for when they arrive.

First time ordered take away but will definately be back. Yummy hot food and didn't have to leave the house. Well done Cardomon!

Brilliant service family friendly very reasonable pricing a must visit for any curry fan. Take your own drink or pop over to Aldi.

Over the past 20 years my passion for curry has seen me visit most if not all the asian food establishments around the Walsall area , and the Cardamon in Brownhills currently stands head and shoulders above the rest .The curries are of the highest standards and the portions are extremely generous and of course they come served in authentic balti bowls which is a must for myself.Poppadoms are part of the course and are immediately placed on the table as soon as you have been shown to your seat by the polite and courteous waiters accompanied by dips and onion salad.My dish of Tandoori chicken and mushroom balti madras hot was served sizzling hot and was at the appropriate spice level tasty and fresh, served with a house special naan bread , i was in curry heaven.I can't praise this establishment enough and the prices are extremely competitive .Its an unlicensed premises so take your own drinks , glasses are supplied.This is definitely highly recommended , try it you won't be disappointed.

We have been here many times with family and friends and can honestly say this is one of the best Indian Balti restaurants in the area. Has won 1st place in Walsall area for best authentic curry many times. Superb service and great food, cash only and not licensed. Best to book Friday or Saturday
