Aura Aldridge Indian Cuisine in Walsall

Had vouchers for this place as a gift. Food very mediocre. Waiter completely rushed is through our meal with no one checking we were satisfied with the food. Chose a quiet Monday night to eat our. Think they can fit about 75 people in the place, less than 20 of us but couldn't wait to get us out of the place. Won't be going back, worst food ever.

Starter portions were really small, but the mains and sides were large and high quality.

Groupon deal. Very rude staff. Booked for 10pm as this was available and the first thing the waiter said when we sat down was “we close at 11”. Twice he said this before taking our order. Why give the option of 10pm when you want people out by 11. Staff were hoovering the restaurant and some had coats on while we were still finishing our drinks. Would not return. Customer service shocking!

I’m normally skeptical about establishments that do several-course “deals”, you tend to get what you pay … not here, not tonight anyway! The food was absolutely fabulous! So fresh, so ‘spicy’ … the king prawn purée was simply full of tasty king prawns, the butter chicken was simply rammed full of buttery chicken, the rice wasn’t greasy & the cheese-naan was simply oozing fresh-cheese Big hand to the chef and the cooking team; decent service and if you wanted in/out fairly quickly they didn’t mess-around; the ambience could have been a little less-brightly lit but not so bad for a sizeable place … 10/10 food, 10/10 value-for-money on their Sunday-to-Thursday “deal” We’re going back again next week, going with family this time 👍

Excellent food and great service.

Food not good, came home with bad tummy.very upset with the approach of senior staff who over charged us and refused to listen to genuine discussion. They promoted a meal deal and renaged on the deal. The manager and waiter attitude was atrocious Created an embarrassing scene.I strongly suggest you avoid this restaurant at all cost.Very disappointing.

Recently moved to Aldridge , so we are working through all the Indian restaurants in the village, to find witch one is best. We were "welcomed" by a waiter with a straight face, and served by 4 more staff throughout our meal without a smile between them. We had the special 4 course deal, but were told we had to pay cash ,as if we paid by card it would be £1 more each. The poppadoms were served with sauces, they were all delicious, but the onion salad needed some coriander leaves. Our plates were taken away, then about 2 minutes later, the starters arrived ! These were all very nice, but , again the salad garnish needed a bit more love , rather than a bit of lettuce, 1 slice of tomato & lemon. The plates were taken away & we couldn't believe it , but a couple of minutes later, out came the mains !!! No one asked if we were ready for them as we would have said, give us 10 mins for the starters to digest. The mains were perfectly acceptable, I've had better, but I've had a lot worse. The waiter took the plates away, & asked us if we wanted a Baileys, but by this time we just felt that they wanted us out, so we asked for the bill, paid and left , with not one waiter thanking us for our custom or if we had enjoyed our meals. Even though the food was very nice, all 4 of said we wouldnt return , because of the staffs attitude and the way the food was rushed. Its not like the place was packed , it was a Tuesday, and there was plenty of empty seats. I hope their management read this, & have a staff meeting on hosting skills !

Great delivery service, I was kept updated with the order times. The driver was polite. The order was incomplete, as one if the items was missing, I received an immediate refund once I made you aware, brilliant customer service .

What has happened?We have visited many times over a number of years and celebrated many occasions but our last 3 visits have not been good..is there a new chef?Chicken tikka dry,mixed grill main was very small no lamb or prawn on it but has been previously?The curry dishes were not very hot,in temperature,and we had ordered rice and had to ask again for it..the warm welcome and atmosphere was missing...very disappointed,thought it may be a one off,but we have been back 3 times now and have been disappointed each time.So unfortunately we won't be returning,but we wish you all the best and we thank you for the times we have had in the past...

I must point out to begin with that we have been coming to Aura for many years and have celebrated many occasions during this time,but unfortunately on the last 3 occasions we have been disappointed..and were hoping that it was just a one off,so we returned for a birthday meal in May and again,not good..and again last night for another birthday meal with friends,and yet again it was not good at all.. Chicken tikka was dry and very small portions,the sheek kebab meat was extremely dry,mixed grill main was like a starter no lamb or prawn on it,very dry.. Other mains were curry and 3 of these were served warm and not piping hot as you would expect,only 1 of the curry mains was enjoyed,we had to ask for the rice we had ordered... The welcoming atmosphere appears to have disappeared in what has always been fantastic in years gone by.. So Aura,we are sorry to say that unfortunately we will not be returning but we wish you well and thank you for the times we have had with you...

Food appauling omekette tiny + cold curry 3 chicken pieces no onion salad with poppaduns chips soggy cold awful

Good Indian restaurant with a large menu at reasonable prices. We'll worth a visit but recommend you book. Cheap fixed price Sunday to Thursday.

A fantastic meal as always and delivered on time, I would always recommend this place for a most enjoyable meal.

I’ve never had a nicer butter chicken curry, food is always fresh and delicious. I wouldn’t eat a curry anywhere else!

The restaurant isn't going to give you any money back for your delayed order. They say: "We're really sorry your order wasn't delivered on time. The driver was stuck in heavy traffic, sorry." Ha! Yesterday's stories were different. Liars!

We always come to the aura, the staff are lovely the food never disappoints and the prices are hard to beat. We have tried other places and they have either been double the price, half the food or the food has been bland. Stick to what you know I say and you can’t go wrong here.

Lovely food arrived early, possibly our new favourite curry house.

Ordered a takeaway and it’s the worst one ever. Starters dry and tasted like dog food. No onion accompaniment with ratia dip. Asked for chicken tikka but got tandoori chicken, Not the best at all and we go there and have takeaways often. VERY disappointing.

Went for a birthday party with 18 people, food was excellent, scallop starter was very good as was the vindaloo curry, service was good considering there were 18 people. Good curry overall recommend. Parking was an issue but large car park at the back.

My order was 40 minutes late. Called to ask about my order and they said it was out for Delivery.The Driver told me a different story bunch of Muppets

I have ordered through Uber eats .The mixed grill which is for 2 people absolutely low quantity.Its even not enough for one.masala fish was just boild fish.I won't recommend this restaurant to anyone

The chips where burnt like they had been reheated the Kenna nann had hardly any meet in it and the mixed grill was burned to the point the onions where black very disappointed.

Absolutely lovely decor, great service and delicious food. Bring your own drinks or buy at their bar, nothing is too much trouble. Aura is now the place in Aldridge for the finest Indian food

Saturday night had a takeaway off just eat, it arrived exactly on time. I was slightly worried as haven't had one from here before and read some very negative reviews. However this is probably one of the best takeaways I've had! Everything was fresh, hot, and more than what I expected. In the just eat notes I asked for extra garlic and mushroom in one of the curries which they did. Poppadoms were crispy, curries were perfection, pea rice was beautiful, keema nann was full of meat. Defo will be ordering again. Very much enjoyed. Thankyou aura beautiful takeaway

Not welcoming at all food was bland has soon as you put your knife and fork down they was clearing the table very rushed 🤬🤬,double vodka and coke and just a glass of coke was 11 50 never again

Food arrived cold after waiting 2 hours from placing order. 3 phone calls later the driver arrived to say he had only left the restaurant 10 minutes ago. One of them is lying!!

We arrived on a Wednesday evening,to a far from friendly welcoming.We hadn't booked and initially it looked as though a table wouldn't be available for us.We were then offered a table for an hour,then told that we'd have 2 hours.The waiter who came to take our order,stood behind me for quite a while,not saying anything at all as he approached,nor whilst he was waiting.After a while,my partner,out of awkwardness,made a comment to acknowledge his presence.Our starters came,and almost immediately after taking the plates,our mains came.I asked the waiter if we had only an hour at the table,as it appeared we were being rushed.He assured us that was not the case.At no point,during the whole meal,was there any politeness or friendliness offered our way.When we asked for the bill it was almost dropped onto our table,whilst the waiter in question was looking the other way,folding a tablecloth.Unlike what it says on the special menu we were not offered a drink on the house either.After paying the bill,our change wasn't returned,so as a matter of principle I went to the bar to collect it.Regarding the food,it wasn't bad at all,but safe to say,we won't be returning.

Balti and tikka masala were great, korma was a touch bland. Overall a good meal

Missing items chips were stone cold and the madras tested like powder really really not happy. To the point the whole meal went into the bin and re ordered from a different restaurant. Complained to just eat got ignored

Ordered at 17.08, eat delivery 18:15-18:30. 18:15 said order was on the way 18:40 still not arrived. Chased to see where our order was told that they were busy and new time was 18:55. Finally arrived at 7pm cold. Won’t be ordering from here again.

Well what can I say ? Its much better than Regards ! The staff have a laugh and the place it self is very clean and modern .. but the important bit is the food ...... the poppadoms were fresh and the tamarind sauce was bang on ... also the mint sauce . Mango was chutney was tasty too ... my king prawn starter was spot on and the mrs was pleased with her chicken tikka ... then the mains ... my well done garlic nann had no complaints and came just as i asked , her chicken pathia was a little greasy for her likening but very tasty . My lamb and potato balti with peppers came just as I like it and very tasty even better when i asked for a side plate of coriander to mix in myself .... beautiful ... then they brought us coffee , chocs and a shot of irish liquor ... defo going again and I will say what a nice experience and lived up to what I was told when recommended ... see u soon lads ...

Well I was so looking forward to this evening for my birthday night out but what a huge disappointment our Curries came soon enough my partner had the Chicken tikka tawa so I opted for the plain Chicken & mushroom tawa it looked lovely accept mine was the same chicken tikka with not a mushroom in sight just lots & lots of onions not once did a waiter ask if we were happy with the meal so I called a member of staff over to explain who moved my food around with a fork to claim he’d found a mushroom NOT…. a offer to exchange it would of been nice & to top things off my partner couldn’t eat much of her’s has it was ruined by too much salt unfortunately she doesn’t like complaining even when the waiter collected the bill he didn’t even ask if we he’d enjoyed our meal no good evening or goodbye service none existent anyway won’t be going again very disappointed indeed don’t be fooled by the decor!!

Foods great worth a visit value for money

Unfortunately I cannot comment on the food as I did not stay long enough to try it, this was because of the experience we endured during the first five minutes of our visit......yes, it was an endurance. We entered the restaurant and there were no other customers there, the one staff member we saw was sat at a table at the back, he looked up and then chose to completely ignore us. A second staff member was bottling up, he also ignored us until we said hello and then very grudgingly came over to us. We asked to sit in a specific place to which we were told 'no', by ways of a grunt. Once we were sat the menu's were practically thrown at us and we were growled at that if we wanted seafood or king prawns there would be a £4 supplement. He then just strode off with a very unhappy face. That was enough for me, if that's how they welcome customers then I wasn't interested in actually giving them my custom. The food might have been the best i have ever had but I will never know as I will never darken their doorstep again.

Two portions of chips were missed off the order so had to phone and chase these then wait for them to be delivered. By which time two in our party had pretty much finished their meals. Not a great first experience of using Aura.

Really fatty lamb and no free popadoms other then that all nice.

Everything about this place is fab. Good food etc. etc. The midweek 'deals' are great value.
