Cardamon in Northampton

Ordered from here in the past, food was great, sad to see they have shut down, they had great food and a great chef

We used cardamoms as our local and top pick Indian takeaway, no one else in Northampton does the chicken Chatt starter half as good as they did and the overall menu was really tasty! never upset my stomach once, unlike some others in town. Us and the kids are very sad to see you guys have closed.

I have ring and ring by trying to get through, nobody is not picking up the phone for my order. Has the resturant closed down? It is a great shame because the food is great and a quick delivery too.

Went in on a Sunday Evening. Everything arrived early and the food was hot and tasty. Recommend for anyone who wants A+ customer service , top quality food and chilled out vibe. Will definitely come again !

Very disappointed. Food has gone rite down hill but prices seem to have gone through the roof. Used to be spot on. Manager left and it’s never been the same. Still fairly nice but nowhere near as good as it used to be. Also if I’m spending in excess of £100. I don’t expect to be charged for popadoms and dips. Think I’m going to find somewhere else to get takeaway from. Real shame used to be so nice.

Takeaway not very hot, had to microwave it all, shame as we read good reviews after not using Cardamon for some years. Also no chilli's in the chilli dish so not very tasty. Sorry chaps, driver lovely

The food was very nice and spicy no complaints. They serve Bangla which is the best asian beer imho. But the Keema to Naan ration in the Naan was perfect. Top restaurant!!

Visited the restaurant. Staff very attentive and polite. Food delicious. Full of flavour. Staff checked between courses as to when ready for next course. Excellent menu for both food and drinks. Would definitely visit again.

Very disappointed. Starter on sheek kebab wasn’t cooked, still pink inside. Chicken sag was far to dry…..not much sauce, chicken masala was too dry & overcooked. Wrong Nan sent, & forgotten poppodoms. Very disappointed as we have used this service for years, and always excellent.

A large group of colleagues came to Cardamon for a work leaving do and we were most impressed! The service we received was absolutely amazing, and the food cannot be faulted. Definitely will be returning!

Although quiet, the staff were really friendly. The platter for two was excellent and good value.

Just had a delivery from the cardamom and after having food from them for the last few years I can honestly say that they must have a new chef as the food tonight was very subtanded the lamb was like eating leather rice was under cook and why not send pomadoms with out the dips, sent a message but no response

A friend and I went there today. Decor has been changed and looks lovely and fresh. Was served by a very helpful, friendly waiter. It was a pleasure to hear how he explained and reccomend different dishes. Drinks came out fast and the starter...was simply delicious! Had main meal after(I had lamb Biryani...was very, very nice! The garlic Naan and chiapati was melting in the mouth. My friend had...oops forgot name, but she was most impressed. Was a pleasant 2 hours we spent there in friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Definitely would recommend them. Worth every penny!

i was so pleased to see that this fantastic restaurant is still in business i have ordered food many times in the past and have been delighted with the quality of the food and the service i had lost confidence over this covid period and had my own battle with covid but i am pleased to say that i placed a order again this Saturday and i got again fantastic service on time the food was hot and of the highest quality there was plenty in a portion and well priced thank you for the experience and i am happy to be back my wife and i enjoyed every mouth full thank you tony

Found the restaurant from looking at options on Meerkat Meals. Only 10 mins from our house and fancied somewhere new. We are both veggie and found the menu very accommodating. It would help more if the items have a ‘V’ next to them but the variety was great. Greeted by a friendly host and the service throughout was brilliant. Very clean restaurant. Didn’t end up using Meekat Meals as their Sunday deal is equally as great. Starter, main, side and rice/nann for a tenner! Can’t go wrong!

Normally good tasty food. Today everything had the same salty taste. Far too much salt, especially in the duck, couldn't even taste the duck flavour through the salt.

Visited the Cardamom today for a wee treat. I'm a regular there. Putting it simple,..... the food was outstanding as ever. Its the best .....simple 👌

Ordered a takeaway and was relatively avaergae price once the discount was applied or it would have been really expensive. Food was average overall and not as good as ratings i had read. Keema naan tasted strange almost like lemon cleaner.pilau rice not as nice as others locally. Overall disappointing and there are others around that have better quality food.

The food was nothing special but the service was first class.

Ordered food for the five adults in the house and we all enjoyed it. I had the Lamb Mintwala with Pilau rice and a Peshawari naan. All very tasty.

Food was very tasty, with good portion sizes. The staff were friendly, nice and helpful, at your assistance. We went there for a birthday celebration, and the staff were very helpful and accommodating with everything involved in that. I had the Fish Uribisi, Rice, Sag Aloo, and Cheese Naan. Lamb chops for starters. 👌🏾. My wife also enjoyed her meal

On sunday I visited Cardamom around 2.30pm. The waiter introduced me to a new dish yet to find its way onto the menu. I must tell you the lamb in the newly introduced Lamb Boss curry was the most tender I've tasted. The sauce was truly delicious. Combined with beautifully could and presented other components, my wife and I were treated to a delight of meal once again, at a ridiculously cheap price considering the quality and serivce. Thankyou Cardamom. Truly the Jewel of Northamptonshire's Indian restaurants

We have been going to this restaurant for a while mmnow and we've it they have parking round the back . The restaurant is nice and comfortable and clean . The staff are very friendly and accommodating for example if you order something but it says hot and you want it milder they will do it . Good value for money over this place so much.

Lush takeaway except for king prawn tikka masala - £10 for 4 prawns is a bit much. Also a missing naan bread an different pickles to order.

It's open again for restaurant cuisine meals " wow"" it was absolutely amazing " all our dishes look absolutely stunning " brilliant service " really well priced " great midweek deal " great value for money. Also a awarded winner restaurant as well " whole restaurant was really spotless clean " and great tables layout . So plenty of space. Management and staff were really friendly and helpful and attentive service " a great Indian cuisine restaurant to go at any time or occasion ' for amazing and delicious cuisine food ' lovely atmosphere. Come here regular, were the foods presented beautifully and tastes as good as it looks ...superb five stars for me every time

This is our favourite Indian! We've tried near enough all the local indian takeaways and this is always our favourite one to come back too. Delish! And the sauces are never watered down!

I usually have a fantastic meal/takeaway here however, tonight was absolutely terrible!! I asked if the food was being cooked from fresh to be told yes. I was NOT told that the waiter was cooking it!!! I ordered a chicken Dhansak to receive a watered down curry sauce that tasted of tomato and no lentil in sight and the three massive chicken chunks were over cooked and dry! The pilau rice was white and although cooked correctly tasted of NOTHING ! I have complimented this restaurant to my friends/family but will not do so again. I telephoned and asked for a full refund and await the response. It is with great shame that I declare this place as RUBBISH! Please employ cooks/chefs and do not ask waiters to cook for you as your restaurant will NOT otherwise survive!

We used this via the just eat app, while the Coronavirus was going on, I say that as if to say that’s why the food and the service was poor.But the delivery took 2 1/2 hour this was over 1 hour more than stated and for containers of sauce with two pieces of meat in each, it wasn’t worth it.I tried to contact them while waiting for delivery only to have them say they had left but I guess that was not true. Tried contact Just East only to wait for 23 min and then they transferred me and cut me off.They may have been very busy I’m sure, but if they could not complete the service on offer, don’t offer it. The food was very poor , say no more.

I used to rave about this Indian. Regular for takeaways and eating in however that has now come to an endThis establishment appears to have let things slip for whatever reasonsThe decor within the restaurant appears to have been prepared for paint work however this never seemed to ever be done Having regularly ordered takeaways without issues my last takeaway was 2 hours late. In the end I went into the Restaurant to establish why and where my food was. To my shock they brought my food down instantly. No explanation and never had I thought I’d have to collect my own delivery. Food was cold once home and had to be re heated in the microwave. No idea how long it had been sitting waiting I suspect for a driver to deliver. No phone call in the meantime from the restaurant. This unfortunately has negated me ever going back as I feel that things are going downhill

Fantastic Sunday Lunch. Took family for lunch here. Lovely, plentiful tasty good. Great service. Will definitely visit again. Seemed such a shame that despite great value the restaurant was quiet. Would be great if more folk supported local business.

We have family who live near Cardamon and rave about it. While visiting we decided to follow their recommendation and visit.The menu offers some traditional dishes but also some that may be unique to their chef. We'd decided pretty quickly what we wanted to eat. However it took nearly 20 minutes for someone to come and take our order - we had considered going elsewhere for our meal. Not sure whether they were short staffed but the service was slow all evening.When the food arrived we were more than happy - presentation was first class and a decent portion of food. We were able to take home our uneaten food. Staff are friendly and welcoming. A great restaurant experience in terms of the quality of food but just slow service.

My daughter went to order two days ago and was told they had a new chef who was not very good however she ordered from Bombay and enjoyed her meal.I ordered from Cardamon tonight and asked if there was a different chef to be told a different story.overall experience of food was very POOR compared to their usual high quality!Chicken Birianyi: Very poor as huge limp of potato in vegetable curry, boiled egg was tasteless and dry, Vegetable curry lacked vegetables and I ordered vegetable Samosas which are normally beautiful. NOT TONIGHT unless you like an overload of peas.It was also Luke warm on arrival instead of hot as normal! However the delivery driver was extremely polite, well dressed and friendly.Would I eat there again, well I may give it just one more try and if that’s poor, never again!Hubble ordered chips and he has never experienced such poor chips as they were ‘floppy, greasy and nearly cold! In his words, disgusting!!!!!

Ordered food 31st Dec, stated delivered on just eat app food never came! Restaurant has not given me a refund after two emails and 3 x calls! Customer service is appalling and manager seams unbothered and I’, m still £17.95 down. Very unhelpful and terrible service

I live in Sydney, spend a lot of time in USA and visit my Mum in Moulton and mates when I can. We always go for a curry and head to this place and it’s always good. Tonight I had 4 friends who are curry self appointed aficionados with me. They all tipped well! Food was best I have had in a long time. Well done guys. They remembered me and that was extra nice. Disgusting, lots of small fruit flies in the dining area which was quite off putting when eating. The flies ended up in our meals meaning we left a lot of it. Many other guests experienced the same issue. Mentioned this on the way out, staff not bothered. Maybe they will do something about this when people no longer come to eat here.

Seemed good value. Reasonably quiet. Good service.

It's only the second takeaway I have had from them, on both occasions the delivery was swift, food was still piping hot, delivery guys were very humble and pleasant, and the taste was second to none, with generous portions. Will definately be ordering again.

The food in the restaurant and takeaway is second to none with true Indian flavour and excellent quality! The restaurant could do with an update on the layout as it lacks finesse, however the service was brilliant and the food well worth waiting for.The Dhansak is extremely hot but they will accommodate this to tast.The delivery service is the best in town as they deliver within the time specified and this Indian chef certainly knows how to cook for us that enjoy a fast food menu.Well done!

The food we ordered was extremely tasty. It was delivered within the scheduled time frame and was very reasonably priced. Slight comment re the online ordering process - the process was not the simplest to navigate

Pleasantly surprised, the staff were attentive helpful and efficient. I ordered a special biriyani which was excellent, the food was reasonably priced and well presented. All in all not bad at all.

I have had the restaurant experience here which was good and the takeaways have been good but each time lately, have deteriorated as my order (even though I spoke to Russell, the owner) has not been listened to! I usually have a chicken dhansak but because it came too hot, ordered a very mild next time on Russell’s instruction. This again was NOT consistent and got hotter each time therefore tonight I thought I’d try a chicken tikka byriani which is lovely wherever I buy it from.

Yes it is. The food was alright bud seriously ..for £50 you would expect some punctuality...needless to say the microwave also took a hammering to heat up the rice.

Visited cardamon for a Sunday afternoon treat. Whilst the restaurant was very quiet we found the staff very friendly and attentive. Quality of the food was perfect and the chicken was beautiful

We love a korma, but i hate it when it's just watered down like soup. When we call for a takeaway, we ask for a thick korma sauce and it's delicious! I can not fault it. Now our go to takeaway.

Our first 2 take aways in October/November were great but then all 3 takeaways since just were very poor, food was ordered at 5pm to miss the evening rush and all times arriving after 7.30pm resulting in calls from us chasing our food, upon arrival, food was cold, naans were burnt or had raw dough or missing, chicken tikka missing, chicken tanddori was burnt to a crisp and non edible, we were sent a replacements arriving late or raw, extra chicken pieces paid for were not added to order, we put in calls and the items were replaced but hours later and the food arrived cold, one on new years eve arrived after 11pm!

Beautiful food, not oily, well seasoned (I personally like very spicy, this was mild, however very flavourful.) I had the Lamb Biryani and although off menu, my Mum had a Chicken Korma, as she cant handle spicy. Service was a bit slow, but this was a Sunday afternoon, so if you are in no rush....it is worth a visit for their special. Staff polite and clearly explained the special offers. Another positive, it was VERY clean and so was the cutlery. My first visit and on my list for going again.

What a shame that places like this can still continue to trade despite the rubbish service they provide and judging by many of the reviews we tonight are one of many disappointed and frustrated customers. Ordered a takeaway on Christmas Eve which we were really looking forward to, placed the order at 5pm as they opened for a 6.45pm delivery so a good 1 3/4 hours to cook food and deliver, enough time you would think, apparently not!! Driver did not arrive until 7.30pm at which time we had already been in touch with the restaurant and were told ther were busy, well we ordered at 5pm so surely we would have been near front of queue?! When order did eventually arrive, 2 naan breads were missing so another call to the restaurant was made where we were told that they would redeliver, which we took as meaning a new meal as other would be cold by time we waited for naan breads. 40 minutes later! the breads arrived but just the breads! Another phone call and the appalling attitude of the staff is unbelievable and makes me wonder how they stay in business, claiming we were lying and refusing to do anything. Eventually the staff member said he would get his boss to call back, I’m not holding my breath!!!! Won’t be using again!

Ordered a takeaway tonight as received a leaflet through the door and my god, I was surprised to eat the best meal from a takeaway in about 30 years!

First return for several months but once again they didn't let us down. Place was really quiet for a Friday night but takeaway and deliveries just didn't stop. Very efficient service and excellent quality food.

I am still waiting for my food and now it has been more than an hour 15 min I called the restaurant and a rude man said we are very busy. My suggestion is if you can't handle the pressure close your shop. And btw my 16.50 is hard earned money So if you can't deliver return my money else i am taking you to court

Totally agree with Chikku chicks. Most horrible customer service in Northampton. Food is good though. But customer service ruins the appetite. Waiter was very polite when the boss is around.

Didn't eat in as we fancied a take away. The food was given to us on time and the lad on at the bar apologized for the delay anyway. The food itself was decent but not spectacular. We ordered a garlic and cheese naan which turned out to be just garlic. The curry itself was nice and the mixed grill was tasty. Good deal as well as a discount if you collect. Definitely worth a revisit but not the best in the area.

Pathetic people, pathetic service. I used to go here always but they are absolutely racist. If you are white, then only they are good or please don't go. Least respect they have for others and very very very racist. Shame on these guys. You know what, please be authentic and focus on your service.

I took my cousin who was visiting from the US to Cardamom and he considered the meal to be the best curry he'd ever tasted. We had a variety of starters and main courses all of which were superb. I will certainly be going back!

First time in 40 years of eating Indian food when i couldn't eat my curry. Poppadoms were soggy and the curry that followed was so over-salted i thought someone had dropped the salt pot in the sauce! Service perfectly pleasant but shame about the food.

After leaving a rave review on one of our last visits we were disappointed tonight. Our food tasted a tad over salted and lacking in its usual subtlety. We love to see children out with parents but we did get distracted by the constant electronic singing that was louder than it need be. The final straw however was being charged £5 for a bottle of water. Drinks on the house? No thank you, just water at a fair price. Probably won't return. Good food, friendly service but felt ripped off. Don't pay that for water in London. Bye

Took over two hours for my delivery to arrive, in this time I rang up twice, both times being told that the delivery will be 5 mins away. When it eventually did arrive it was cold, all the dishes had poured into one another to a Korma was mixed with a Madras!! it was inedible and then there was also a hair in my curry. I have rang up to complain 7 times on different days, each time they have said they will call me back and never did so I have no choice but to leave a bad review. Oh and the curry stained my table yellow!!

We ordered a Cardamon takeaway at the weekend, having been a regular customer of theirs for the past 2 years. Delivery times have got slower and slower during this time but nothing like what we experienced on this occasion, where we had to wait over 2 hours for our food to arrive after being told 1 hour when we placed the order.

Really good Indian food! Catered well for food allergy.

Disgraceful service! Waited over 45 minutes for takeaway to get home and there were parts of the order missing
