Carberrys in Norwich

We found this little cafe online as we were looking for a dog friendly stop in Norwich. The staff were so friendly and definitely dog lovers. The lattes were really good. We both had panini's which were toasted and came with a lovely little bit of salad and coleslaw which were delicious. The other food, especially the sausage rolls looked good. It has a relaxed friendly atmosphere.

This is a lovely friendly cafe with a varied menu. The scrambled egg on toast is a favourite of mine whereas my son can’t quite decide over the homemade sausage rolls or the breakfast. Today he chose the breakfast where he requested his eggs were scrambled (standard is fried). He commented that he ‘loves’ their bacon. The iced coffee can be made decaf. Dogs are made welcome with water and biscuits offered- and spillages are cleared up without any fuss. A lovely spot that can set you up for the rest of the day

This was a fabulous little find. Sat in the sunshine in the little courtyard out the back. Had a lovely cake & pot of tea. Price was about average. Great service & friendly staff.

I had an hour to fill so having been past this pretty looking little place many times, thought I'd treat myself. I wish I hadn't bothered. It started well with a friendly and accommodating lady agreeing to all the chabges I requested to my cooked breakfast, including my specific instructions as to how I wanted my bacon cooked but then it was all downhill from there. I didn't wait long for my food but when it came I was extreemly unimpressed. The flavourless bacon looked very unappealing and was barely lukewarm. When I told staff it was not hot enough the response was "it has just come out of the grill but I can put it back in if you want". This did absoutely nothing to improve its appeal and I should have been offered a replacement. The mushrooms had no flavour whatsoever and had leeched so much liquid onto the plate I had to absolutely saturate my only napkin mopping it up which really put me off. The sausage was lackluster to say the least and there was only one piece of toast. To top it all the lady tried to take my plate before I'd even finished - I still had egg yoke which I wanted to mop up with my toast crusts. So to sum up I paid £9.50 to leave hungry and very disappointed and will definitely never return!!

Good stop off venue on our walk around Norwich. Friendly pleasant staff with a good choice of hot and cold drinks, food and snacks. The boss is definitely the huge dog which sleeps in the middle of the floor.

Visited with a small group(9) of Horning walkers on a wet Wednesday, we could not have been made more welcome, highly recommended.

Called in for a quick coffee. Their cheese scones are delicious and excellent coffee too. I must say, their baked potatoes looked quite amazing.

Toby is a big sweet loaf who lays around the restaurant. Small and cozy atmosphere surrounds the large nice coffee bar. Service was great and it was a nice way to get out of the cold for an hour while enjoying a salad and coke.

Pleasant, welcoming, relaxed cafe. Good value, great coffee and a majestic, huge dog sleeping on the floor. Would definitely visit again when in Norwich.

Relaxing atmosphere where dogs are welcome. I booked ahead as we were meeting family there. I had a delicious vegetarian “sausage” roll which was fresh. All of us were happy with our meals and drinks. Highly recommended

I really like Carberrys and have been returning for years and it is always so reliably good. The people that work there are so friendly and the entire atmosphere is just cozy and warming. I have eaten lots on the menu and can't say I have any complaints, the sausage rolls are fantastic and so is the gelato in the summer! 5 stars all round, really recommend checking this place out.

Came here for lunch with my fiancée, close friend and our dog. The food was delicious and freshly made, the drinks were tasty and reasonably priced. They gave our dog a warm welcome and made sure she was ok. Would highly recommend coming here especially if you have a dog as they are great with dogs of all sizes.

This is one of my favourite little cafes in Norwich. A great range of food for lunch and afternoon tea, good range of drinks, gluten free and dairy free options, dogs welcome.

All covid safe, hand sanitiser on a table just inside. We picked a table in the window and placed our order. Lovely people serving and we didnt wait very long at all. Never been here before but will definitely go back.

Came in for lunch mid-week. Our group had panini, sandwich and jacket potato - all tasty. Ideal portion sizes and nice garnishes of coleslaw, salad and crisps. The cafe was taking Covid-safe measures.

Mi chocolate caliente era encantador . 2ª visita Toby, el perro estaba cerca del mostrador durmiendo un poco pero feliz de saludarte con un movimiento de su cola. Este lugar tiene una encantadora selección de pasteles y bollos de salchicha y una maravillosa selección de tés especiales que probará la próxima vez. Pedí una taza de té (desayuno inglés) y un pedacito de pastel de café que estaba delicioso y muy abundante. Todo el pedido llegó a menos de 5, que fue excelente. Un lugar tranquilo y encantador muy popular durante el día. Carberry tiene wi-fi, lo que es más útil, solo pide la contraseña. En general, es un pequeño lugar encantador para venir y escapar. Tendrá que volver y tomar el té de la tarde pronto. Fue encantador estar sentado al lado de Toby, de acuerdo con otras críticas, definitivamente hace que el lugar sea especial para ser un lugar amigable para perros. Simplemente encantador. El personal muy amable y servicial volverá.

Honestly I come here to see Toby (the dog)… however it does also serve a good light lunch! And I do like their sausage roll. Could do with a couple more vegetarian options though...

Sin embargo, este se destaca por un par de razones. ¡El primero y más importante es Toby, el perro de la cafetería! ¡Trae un ambiente tan frío al lugar! ¡Está feliz de venir a verte si lo llamas pero también te dejará solo para disfrutar de tu almuerzo! ¡Siempre se ve tan tranquilo y solo se suma al lugar! Ahora a lo que todos quieren escuchar. Comida y servicio!Salto entre paninis y baguettes cuando visito y el único problema que he tenido es cuando ¡muuuuuuuuuuuuuucha mantequilla se puso en mi panini hasta el punto en que podía resolverlo! No mantequilla gracias! ! !Las porciones se están llenando y definitivamente no escatima en ingredientes. Los ingredientes que usan son buenos y los precios son promedio y están en línea con la mayoría de los lugares.El personal es muy amable y puedo decir que a ninguno de ellos no le gusta trabajar allí.

Pequeña cafetería encantadora! Se nos permite mover mesas (¡molesto para nosotros! Lo siento) a medida que nuestro grupo seguía creciendo. El servicio fue atento, la comida era deliciosa. Encantador de tener un lugar para traer a nuestro perrito también, se sintió a gusto con el perro residente que yacía cerca. ¡Amo los lugares que permiten perros! Se sentía como almorzar en la casa de un amigo.

Of course the main thing which got me through the door was the lovely big dog Toby laying in the doorway. Great food, fairly priced, friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

Estábamos buscando un lugar para almorzar en un miércoles muy concurrido y húmedo en agosto y todos los lugares que buscábamos estaban llenos de largas colas. Vimos a Carberrys y algunas personas desocupando una mesa, así que entramos. Inmediatamente nos encantó el entorno, la sensación del lugar y el personal muy amable y servicial. Nos advirtieron que habría que esperar un poco, ya que estaban muy ocupados, pero valió la pena esperar a los paninis y también a buen precio. Nos sorprendió que a las 2 de la tarde se habían quedado sin la mayoría de sus pasteles, seguramente esperaban estar ocupados en un día húmedo en el apogeo de la temporada turística.

Made very welcome and helped me bring my friend in who is in a wheelchair. Quality of the drinks was good and prices reasonable. Cake selection and drinks menu looked varied and appealling

We were feeling distinctly out of sorts in Norwich for a variety of reasons nothing much to do with the place and Carberrys cheered us up.We went in specifically because it was dog friendly. If you actively dislike dogs, move along, although Toby the resident dog is not bothersome if you are merely indifferent, he's perfectly good at just lying there.The staff went to some trouble to rearrange the seating well for us, the food was good and promptly served (we were a little short of time). Tea for two was very ample.Generally a nice vibe.

This is the second time I've visited and had a pleasant experience both times. The staff are friendly, the food is lovely and Toby the dog is a brilliant greeter. Will definitely go back again.

Stopped in here for lunch on the way past as it looked pretty and inviting. The sandwiches were very nice and came with salad and crisps too. The staff were friendly. It’s quite small but plenty of room for couples and a couple of larger tables too.

Looking for a café while daughter visiting NUA interview - just round the corner from Colegate car park - friendly staff - made my egg-mayo sandwich to order - yummy with salad on side - daughter had massive slice of cake - nice tea - reasonable prices

We had a truly fantastic lunch here, the paninis are to die for. Great service and fantastic food. I would thoroughly recommend that anyone in the area takes the time to eat here. Great atmosphere too. Cannot recommend enough.

A good exciting lunch time menu with the usuals and a few goodies, inc ice-cream sundaes. Plenty of cakes and bakes too with a good selection of teas and cold drinks. Friendly service and all nicely done. Good prices too

Great little cafe! Amazing homemade sausage rolls. Lovely staff and service. The milkshakes and ice-creams are particularly enjoyable in the summer. A new courtyard has been opened too, which really enhances the place (plus offers more seating). I love that it's dog friendly, and you can met Toby, the mascot. Don't go if you're scared of dogs, but if you love dogs? This place is heaven!

We stopped for a coffee this morning, which was so nice we decided to go back later for some lunch. We both had a very nice panini followed by some delicious ice cream. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and Toby the dog is just gorgeous.

A great cafe for tea/coffee and cake ... but today I had lunch. A warm welcome and great atmosphere.. A delicious granary egg mayonnaise sandwich served with coleslaw and crisps with a large pot of tea.. I enjoyed sitting in the window table. I see other people have commented on the dog .... it is the most well behaved one I know..sits placidly by the door.

delightful local coffee shop... friendly staff, friendly dog, excellent drinks and i had a fantastic 'real' baked potato. there were lots of sandwiches and cakes going out too and they looked pretty tasty from my window seat. in a world decimated by trump, austerity and absurd hipsters proffering £5 shaved brocolli, zaatar & chia seed muffins - it's so very nice to have a warm drink in a reasonably priced cosy cafe.

Carberry's genuinely brightens my day every time I go (which is every week). They have the sweetest dog who is super lovely to everyone that comes in and their food tastes great (they also give you proper portions). The staff are so kind and create a real family atmosphere. I just love coming in and reading a book by the fire with a milkshake. I honestly couldn't recommend this place enough!

Nice enjoy place, staff attentive, food okay. But I wouldn't go back! Why? They allow a massive, smelly dog to wander around the place. Pretty offputting!

Best sandwiches around, lovely cakes & delicious scones! I always have a chicken baguette filled with salad which is always fresh - with all the trimmings. Staff always smiley & chatty. Prices are cheap too, everything you would want from a cafe!

Spent an hour or two alone in this little gem of a café. Good and reasonably priced coffee but what made this café out of the ordinary to a foreigner was the owner's Golden Retriever which roamed around the place and enjoyed a nice treat from the staff every now and then or a scratch behind the ears by me . A visit worthy if you like coffee and like to make a furry new friend.

Perfect place to pop in for lunch... either to eat in or take-away. I usually take away after the warmest welcome and having a chat with Toby who is the resident handsome boy! Carberrys make the BEST sandwiches in Norwich, fresh, huge doorsteps of bread stacked high with fillings and enormous baked potatoes generously filled. There is always a great selection of cakes to tempt and a huge range of icecreams too.

This is charming cafe situated in a busy road that is also full of atmosphere. The coffee is great and there is a range of food available. Around the walls there are works of art to enjoy as well as great people watching opportunities in the street outside.

I have been refurbing a property close by and it was 4pm and I was in desperate need of sustenance. I walked in the place looking tired and bedraggled and speckled with paint. The owner, Ruth and her staff (and Toby the most magnificent Golden Retriever you are ever likely to meet!), made me feel so so welcome. The Tuna Melt (OMG!) was fabulous - the ingredients were all clearly top notch and the service was and is just so very welcoming, relaxed and friendly. Carberrys has now become a firm favourite and you know what? If you don't like dogs (in this very dog-friendly fine city of Norwich) there are plenty of other places to go. I thoroughly recommend Carberrys as a great fuel/pit stop in a lovely part of the city where you can walk off your massive tasty gorgeous sandwiches/cakes/ice creams along the wonderful Quayside.

Have been back a few times now to this friendly cafe in this cool part of the city, Dog friendly,wood burner, friendly service, fresh home made food and fresh coffee a pic and mix of gelato ,a great place to stop off and wind down .
