A good old fashioned pub on the edge of the city, seasoned regulars and a great landlady. What more could you ask for? Service with a smile and a community drinking in their local, fantastic!

Still a great place to meet up with family and friends, also a great pub to meet up before and after a Norwich home game. Still one of the best pubs around.

Brilliantly formed pub just outside the city centre. The beers looked after as are the customers. Great chat with the staff whilst just popping in. Will be back for sure

Ecxellent beer chioce and well kept. Taster flights availible. Local celeb is poppy the brown lab pub dog. A great place to relax with friends. Pub snax only but encourages eat ins from local take aways like the chippy a few doors along. All in all decent evening that felt like a evening in and out at the same time.

Visited on a Wednesday evening with friends. Good selection of ales. The Batemans Dark Mild was very tasty and well kept. Highly recommended.

Traditional pub with an extensive range of perfectly kept real ales. Batemans always great! We came in with a group after work and there was a lovely atmosphere and the rolls were fresh and tasty. Never disappoints!

As always, the best pre-match pub in Norwich with a superbly kept range of real ales, brilliant atmosphere, great range of tasty rolls and exceptional service. Brilliant.

Freehouse offers a range of beers, ciders, and spirits. Prompt service, by friendly staff. Never had any of their own food, but they are happy to allow you to bring in food from outside to enjoy with your drinks.

Great choice of beers and you can take fish and chips in as well

Nice friendly pub!!! The bar has a good selection of beers and other drinks. There is plenty of space to sit, including a conservatory space which is nicely decorated and a pub garden with a shelter area, good for smokers. The staff are friendly and accommodating and it’s perfect to sit and have a chat with a few drinks. Dogs allowed too!

Walked in the pub at 6pm. It felt like the Mary celeste. old boy sitting in the corner reading a newspaper was the only person in the pub. l waited at the bar for 5 mins and nobody was to be seen. l then thought l would check out the ales to see what delights were on offer. Very pleased to see Dark star APA but then saw the price. £4.90 a pint. l made a sharp exit and shall not be going back. No wonder the pub was empty. Reading the reply from the owner made me laugh. l drank in this pub for 25 years before the present owner arrived. Not once did l ever arrive to a empty bar and the prices were always very reasonable. Thank you for your offer adnams theres a reason its cheap. l would not drink it if it was free and you paid me to drink it. Your prices are extortionate perhaps you should make a visit to the fat cat nelson st. You might well learn something if you want to stay open. Please do not make references to wetherspoon, they are not pubs and in my opinion neither is yours.

Batemans pub with local feel, nice ales on

Nice pub with range of seating areas including an enclosed beer garden. Good range of real ales. We didn't have food so can't comment on it.

this pub is for locals only. I got moved from a table because it was for local people. it was straight out of 'League of Gentlemen'. I wont use this pub, and neither should you.

Was asked if we are finished 3 times in a span of 40mins though we had taken 2 big plates of food with 3 round of drinks. Couldn't finish our food and had to leave as I couldn't stand the bugging. Never faced such service. Very bad behaviour.

Cracking pub, always a welcome awaiting you here. Great range of real ales and you can bring in your carry out food, plates and cutlery provided by the pub. It's about 10 mins walk from the city centre and well worth the walk. I can recommend Roti Indian restaurant for a carry out - about two minutes walk if you decide to eat in the pub, alternatively there is a fish a chip shop a few doors away (not open on a Monday though!).

Nice clean place, friendly staff and the food is amazing! Would recommend the DINGLEY DELL PORK BELLY & FILLET it's devine.

Had dog bowls outside front of entrance but when entering, was told no dogs allowed inside. Had to sit in patio area with coat on as cold. Barmaid was fantastic, polite, great service with a smile. Landlord sat in corner drinking.

They don't pick up after their dogs and they walk them in a children's play area nearby.

Proper pub! Slick and efficient service, good beer and great location. Top marks all round.

A friendly, decent boozer. Sports channels available. Fish and chips can be brought in from the chippy next door.

A proper pub. Great selection for real ale and a great atmosphere when we visited, partly due to the lovely bar maid who chatted with everybody. There are so few pubs like this now. We went in for one drink and stayed much longer than we meant to.

Food awful but the beer is great. In covid days you'd think a more reasonable price rather than a fiver for what truly was atrocious fare would generate more interest in those of us going out for beer with a compulsory snack. It's almost a tax which I will pay but will leave the food in future.

A beautiful old fashioned pub, great welcoming staff. Good selection of. Ales, cider and larger. They do a few bar snacks but are happy to let you buy else where and eat in as long as you are drinking.

Good real ale pub, one of my favourites for a pre-match drink. There and the Coach and Horses. Can get very crowded. Let you bring food in from the nearby chipper which is a bonus.

I live very close, I love when the weekend comes and I can sit on my balcony and soak in the atmosphere from the pub, I have only visited once to buy a packet of rizla which they kindly obliged despite me not having a drink, maybe one day I will visit because it does appear to be a really nice and friendly pub.

Great pub they have a great selection of real ales. This changes on a regular basis. Good atmosphere more like old fashioned pubs. Food is not sold here, but plate's, cutlery and condiments supplied for use of brought in food. Plenty of seating including outside area with seat's.

A great little pub on the Hall Road. I think you can bring your own food in from the nearby Chinese takeaway or the Fish and Chip Shop, which is great. Nothing beats a pint with your curry or your fish and chips. On the times I have been here, it has struck me as being a typical local pub. I had an Aspall Cyder, and a pork pie, which was for me, a rare treat. The atmosphere during my visit was friendly and it seemed to be busy in the front bar area. I will recommend it to others if you like a friendly atmosphere.

Certainly one of the better pubs in Norwich and they have one of the best selections of real ales in the city.

Since changing hands at the beginning of 2015 the Kings Arms has been somewhat blandly redecorated and lost some of its former quirky, cosy character. Ales are still pretty good quality, monthly Wednesday quiz is happily reinstated but not hitting the heights of its legendary predecessor: Rik's quiz was bound to be a hard act to follow! They still let you bring your own takeaway food in and provide plates and cutlery, this was always a big customer attraction for a pub that no longer does food itself. So far I'm encouraged to keep coming.
