I was looking for somewhere to have a pot of tea and do a little work and stumbled on this little cafe. What a lovely place - felt really friendly, warm and cosy! The world needs more independent cafes like this!

Amazing cakes and sandwich lunches to takeaway or eat in. Anna is a star baker and the petite atmosphere is perfect for meeting friends at lunchtime - which I do regularly. Reluctant to announce best cheese scones in the world in case they run out before I get there 😀. I am your best cheese scone customer. See you later today and thanks again for another lovely year of La Petite. Xx

What a lovely cafe i always walk past this place and look at the yummy cakes on display in the window. I thought must try this place one day so popped in. Friendly lady who took my order. Had a lovely pot of tea with a blueberry cheesecake which was delicious. Nice selection of hot and cold drinks. Lovely selection of cakes and snacks on offer. It was very reasonably priced and they offer takeaway too as many people popped in while I was enjoying my food. Very small eating area but nice setting and a great location. Will have to return and sample some more yummy treats soon.

Walked in but noticed that all cakes et.c, were uncovered and in the window close by the door. Looked lovely but it did not look right to have all the cakes exposed in such a manner in the window, open to street dust and summer flies

The display of cakes in the window lured us into this lovely independent coffee shop. My husband and I like a good latte and we were not disappointed. Taste and temperature were just right (I like mine hot so the coffee doesn't go cold while you eat) . Equal to any of the other specialist coffee shops. The toasted panini was tasty as was the lovely vegetarian roll and the gluten free almond, fig and honey cake, which was so yummy we bought some to take home, along with a cheese and a fruit scone. All made on the premises and still crispy crunchy fresh and tasty. It was nice to talk to the owner who explained they wanted to make their food the best it could be. A lovely find.

Near the centre of the city, this small café is a delight. I chanced on it as I walked down Magdalen Street, a lively and interesting area with a great mix of people. I was lured in, just minutes after opening time, by the array of home cooked foods in the window. I was told that the sausage rolls were still warm so had no hesitation in asking for one. Warm sausage rolls score very high as ‘grazing food’ in my estimation, outranked only by warm bread. I usually drink a skinny latte but on my first visit to a coffee house I always order an Americano, as I did here, so that I can taste the quality of the coffee.

I've been eyeing this establishment for a while now, having often walked past and admired the purportedly homemade cakes and scones in the window. First disappointment was finding it closed at a quarter to nine in the morning. The sign on the door claimed opening at eight. The window was loaded with, clearly fresh, produce so maybe it was going to open. Fortunately I had another task in Magdalen Street so there was an opportunity to return half an hour later. I'm glad I did. The coffee was of good quality and the scones, with a crisp crust and nicely flavoured fluffy insides, worth tasting. The staff were friendly and several of the other patrons clearly regulars. It's a nice location from where one can watch the comings and goings of Magdalen Street. The only disappointment was the terribly cheap quality paper napkins. I shall certainly return in the future.

I am not too fond of the Magdalene Street area but it has such quirky shops decided to go exploring one Saturday. The weather turned horrid so decided to treat myself to somethinig homely. The outside is a bit of a deception as the inside is really charming. There were lovely aromas of coffee beans, home cooking so I really got settled in watching the rain. Their latte was superb and as for the cakes - spoilt for choice but in the end plumped for the scones as I am a bit of a connoisseur and was not disappointed. Definitely home made and was so impressed stayed on for some more! What a little find.

I was actually going to another cafe along Magdalen Street which was closed so thought I'd give this place a try as the cake in the window looked so tempting, it's very small but beautifully presented, there's not a huge menu but you should find something to tempt you from the cake selection which included a gluten free option, there were sausage rolls and sandwiches too.

We happened across this charming little café on our first ever visit to Norwich. We initially noticed it on our way around the city after our trip to the cathedral. The fabulous décor (the owner was an interior designer), and delicious looking cakes in the window enticed us in. We enquired whether the cakes etc were homemade. They were, so we said we would pop back after we toured the city. We returned to La Petite Caffe as promised a few hours later. Thank goodness we did. The lady who owns the business is truly inspirational; the cakes are delicious and as mentioned, all homemade. The coffee is good and the hot chocolate is nice and thick; very chocolatey! We tried three cakes (it was hard to choose as they all looked so good!). One was a delicious gluten free cake which I can honestly say is one of the best I have ever had. A keen baker and cook myself, I can categorically say that it was fantastic; light and moist with good flavours. This wonderful little place is up there on my 'best ever' list and the owner deserves all the recognition she gets. If you love and want good, honest food (without all the additives and poor quality grade ingredients sadly used by many other places today), then you must visit La Petite Caffe.

I go here regularly. It has never failed me: excellent food, excellent drinks, excellent people. We have lived near the city almost 4 years now and I don’t think I have ever gone longer than two months without visiting. I wanted to write this review to thank this small cafe. Thank you for providing me with all the food I can eat, will all the advice on how to cook the nut roast at Christmas and for looking and smelling nostalgia to me- I don’t know what it is, but walking into the place, especially autumn/Christmas time just makes me feel at home. Thank you Tofurei, I will deeply miss you. Oh and thank you for introducing me to spiced chai syrup in my oat iced latte- I will NEVER go back to regular lattes again. Like Christmas in a summer drink! (Ps- picture was from a while ago, only one I could find but perfectly encapsulates the beauty of this place)
