I visited on a rainy afternoon; I appreciated the bright and happy greeting I received and the oat milk cappuccino I was served. The pastry I got was also excellent. Recommended.

Clean well-maintained space, exceptional service, good food

Walking down the football ground on Sunday as i was thinking of where to go for a brekkie , so i have seen this cafe before so i just asked if i needed to book the owers said no come in and sit down and will serve you . I had a nice mug of tea with a large breakfast so two of everything didn't wait to long for my brekkie and it was tasty.

Was in Norwich for work and found this little cafe to have breakfast in. All the tables inside (there're not many!) were occupied but they brought one in from outside for me. The vegetarian breakfast was lovely and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommended!

This is one of my favourite cafes in Norwich. Very reasonably priced for a great full English breakfast with decent ingredients. Friendly staff and I always have a chinwag and catch-up when I pop by :) I normally get a big breakfast, a fruit smoothie, and a coffee. A lovely place to eat or meet!

A warm welcome from the owner and his assistant . Really friendly cafe couldn’t have done enough to make us feel at home even though we were from Ipswich ! Slick service and a very tasty breakfast . Thankyou so much for making a wet and windy day get off to a great start

The Butterfly is a local gem and hub of the community. It has a great atmosphere and happy vibes. Steve is so warm, friendly and welcoming and Karen makes the best lemon cakes. The vegetarian breakfast is delicious and the perfect size. It’s also a great place to go for a coffee, and is so cosy on a rainy day. Best café is East Anglia!

Myself and a friend popped in yesterday about midday for a late breakfast, I had scrambled egg on toast and pal had big breakfast it was awesome. A very friendly atmosphere, staff were very friendly and engaging will definitely go in again

Such an amazing little cafe! The food was really good, portion sizes was perfect (the vegetarian breakfast was amazing) and the staff are so genuinely lovely.

We found this café as we were walking from the Holiday Inn into the town centre. For us, it was in an ideal location for a light breakfast. We both had toast with a pot of tea and an orange juice for a very reasonable price of £5.

Just stopped in for a coffee which was nice and reasonably priced. Owners really friendly. Food looked and smelled great - shame I wasn't hungry. Nice couple of outside tables on quiet street good for people watching!

First impressions, clean and the staff really friendly, had time to have a chat,didn't hurry you to make an order,when the order arrived it was piping hot and presented well. Would really recommend this cafe. Well done to the owner and staff.

I LOVE this place. Everybody is really friendly, food is great, and it’s a lovely place to eat. Not much more to say, to be honest. Amazing.

Lovely food good atmosphere good service, a cracking little café

Food great but it’s not fast food so visit with that understanding. Friendly hosts but we got the impression it wasn’t the usual crew. I ended up with a strawberry shake I didn’t order (thought it was my smoothie so drank it!) Then our smoothies came out and had those too. We opted for the breakfast wrap each and although I think you’re intended to hold it, we couldn’t as it was so packed with delicious ingredients. So we had deconstructed wraps, smoothies and a surprise shake. Everything was tasty and we were not in a rush. Deserving of its four stars from us.

I don't give 5 stars very often but the Butterfly cafe certainly gets a place in my club. Popped in for a quick breakfast after the gym. I instantly felt very welcomed, clearly family run by a genuine down to earth couple. My large breakfast was lovely - fresh good quality ingredients, had a very nice latte with it and there was a little table check half way through to make sure everything was alright.. What more could you ask for? Will definitely be back 👍

First time visiting today and a small breakfast which was amazing was served by the lovely Jess who was very polite and Karen who was cooking both absolutely brilliant would definitely recommend and be going back again.

LOVELY staff, fantastic value (£1.70 for a generous cup of tea and a biscuit), just a great and friendly place that made me feel instantly at home. If I was in Norwich for longer this would definitely be my regular café, will definitely be back if I'm ever in the area again.

Great find for a morning coffee and breakfast. The owner and staff were very friendly, great Latte and poached eggs and reasonably priced.

Very friendly cafe, 5 mins walk from the Travelodge. Full English breakfast and tea for £9.50. Selection of other items. Steady flow of customers sitting in and takeaway so obviously quite popular. Very clean, bright, and cheery - both the cafe, and the staff!

A lovely, friendly cafe which is highly recommended. Had breakfast here a couple of times during a long weekend visit to Norwich. Staff were great, booked us a table for our 2nd visit as there were 8 of us and supplied coco pops! Excellent breakfast choices for all appetites. Can recommend the big breakfast, great quality sausages and bacon. We also had cake, sandwiches and sausage rolls to take away for the journey home. Hope to visit again.

What a gem of a cafe! We found this lovely cafe on Saturday & were blown away by how friendly & welcoming the staff were. The ‘hangover’ breakfast is delicious - especially the sausages - and very reasonable. We booked in again for breakfast this morning and Steve & Karen (I hope that’s right!) treated us like old friends! We left with many slices of delicious chocolate cake for the journey home. Thank you all for making our trip to Norwich so memorable, we’ll be back as soon as we can 😊

We've stayed for a few nights to visit and explore Norwich and eaten in and had takeaway from this lovely little cafe. Delicious food and great value for money too. Really friendly and helpful owner and staff. Def recommend!

Just a short walk away from Norwich railway station, this delightful cafe on King Street offers a tempting menu and a truly friendly welcome to regulars and visitors alike. The Eggs Benedict is always spot on and chef, Steve is very particular in making sure he cooks things just how you like them! For those with a sweet tooth, talented baker, Karen produces the most beautiful cakes. Today's speciality, in recognition of St Patrick's Day, was a Guinness Cake! I don't think it will see the day out as slices were flying off the shelf!!

An absolutely lovely little Cafe which I will definitely be returning to. Visited with a friend the other day and was immediately greeted by a friendly and bubbly member of staff. We ordered a coffee which was served within a couple of minutes by once again the lovely member of staff. The atmosphere was lovely with a really homely air to it. The surfaces were immaculate with everywhere seeming very clean, even the bathroom looked sparkling with was pretty impressive for a busy little cafe. If I could I’d rate 10 stars. Real thumbs up to the team here!!!

Small, friendly, cheap and just across the road from the National Writers' Centre.

Lovely little spot close to the train station and such great value! Good coffee and selection of food. We come in here for coffee, breakfast & smoothies and can’t believe how good value it is for what you get. Particularly love the mango smoothie! We also bring my baby and the lady and man who work there are so accommodating and lovely to him. Breastfeeding friendly also which is important to me. Overall wonderful spot!

I ordered a Tuna melt panini which is normally my favourite. However, the Tuna was a brown colour and looked off. The panini was small, thin and had tomato sauce splashes on it. And there was a dark thick hair attached to the cheese. Safe to say, I've been put on tuna melts and will not return.

A lovely little cafe where you are always greeted to a warm welcome. Lovely, freshly cooked food. A real treat every time.

We had a fantastic brunch at The Butterfly Cafe - we’re new to the area and Gaynor and Karen couldn’t have been nicer to us (and Theo our 6 week old baby!) We finished the visit with two slices of Karen’s homemade chocolate cake - which was delicious 😋 We will be back!

Friendly cafe, great to grab a bite

A little stroll away from the town centre is this lovely little cafe. Had the big breakfast and a cuppa tea. Quality toast and quality sausages which you dont get in all cafes. Perfectly cooked eggs and bacon as well. Friendly local feel and seating for around 10people as a guess.

A lovely little cafe run by a very friendly couple who gave us directions to our accommodation. We are the Aussie couple who got lost and came back twice to this great cafe. We would certainly recommend it. Val & John.

Went for a quick break and grabbed a smoothie and avocado 🥑 toast. The owner was kind enough to make me a vegan avocado toast. It’s a lovely cafe and people seated their were enjoying their time. Some of them were working from the place too, very relaxing atmosphere. Staff were humble. I would recommend the business owners to bring sustainable packaging in their takeaway boxes as it will be environment friendly.

There's a very friendly and welcoming reception from Steve and Karen, they know most of their customers by name. I've been coming here regularly since 2020 when Steve took over the Butterfly Cafe. He serves up lovely traditional cooked breakfasts along with rolls, pancakes, paninis,...

Never been to Norwich and my family and I had a wander and happened on the butterfly cafe. Tasty food, great coffee and awesome staff. Would highly recommend as an alternative to the chain restaurants the other side of the river.

Just spent four days in Norwich, found this superb cafe on day 3 for breakfast, used again on day 4 and wished we'd found it on day 1. Splendid cafe, very friendly proprietor and staff who are happy to chat with customers. Great food prepared to order and served hot and tasty. Very clean and comfortable and close to the Riverside. Would recommend to anyone. Cheers, a very happy customer.

We found this lovely cafe online while we were staying at the Premier Inn Nelson. A quick walk across the river and we received the most friendly welcome and delicious breakfast. My daughter had a milkshake that she said was the best she’d ever had...

A wonderful find on King Street, frequented by residents, local workers and tourists. A great welcome, friendly service, comfortable surroundings, and outdoor seating where i enjoyed a small English breakfast, cup of tea and a smoothie. Everything was quality. I certainly will return on my next visit to Norwich.

We were highly impressed with this lovely little cafe. Superb vegan options were much appreciated, lovely coffee, smoothies, and best of all the staff are so friendly. My sister loved the pancakes and my son loved the breakfast burger. We will definitely be back!

Only been here twice so far and both times been blown away by customer service! The paninis are delicious and so are the smoothies, and the prices are great especially considering the city location. Will definitely keep coming back 😍
