Capital Restaurant in East Staffordshire

Ordered last night, was about to pop on an slàg this place off due to expense, had a mouthful of cold beef in blackbean and ended up in a food induced coma, so ate some more, worth being financially violated 👌

Worst Chinese I’ve ever had, ribs were so dry they could not be eaten. Dim Sum was chewy and cold and the crispy beef was just crispy with no beef. Woman on the counter was in helpful. I highly recommend you don’t eat here.

Rough! Curry is that watery yellow stuff instead of the nice brown spicy one won’t bother again

This is amazing that there are no reviews about this experience Firstly lady who served me rude Secondly had to warm the already mush that was served as Singapore chow mein,pot noodle has more substance Asked for Extra hot two ends of a chille Chips dry Absolute disgrace and portions were tiny Surprised I'm not going to be ill tomorrow Don't go here and please 🙏 leave your bad experience on this platform they are robbing this community

Food was nice, however not everything I ordered was bagged up & when I questioned I was told I hadn't ordered, I knew I had as they read they order back to us but all we were arguing about was a £2 pot of sauce ( not trying to get a free meal), they kept it up, got the owner/manager out & only when I said I'll have a full refund (as still in shop food untouched) & go to Ruby's did they finally give me a pot of sauce. Such a shame as nicec enoygh food but will go elsewhere!!!

Takeaway last night. Fresh, hot, really tasty food. Good portion sizes. Would have had a 5 other than one of the dishes was made with chicken rather than king prawn as ordered. Thoroughly recommend.

This is a take away. Food varies from good to terrible. I use this regular because it convenient. Reception again varies from polite to ignorant i get the impression that staff varies. Suggest they try to integrate with uttoxeter people more not normally done with Chinese people

Decided to try capital last night… wish I’d not bothered! Chips came cold, salt and pepper chicken was soggy and the sweet & sour sauce was disgusting will not use again. Very disappointed.

I ordered quite a large order for 20 people, the lady on the phone wasn’t exactly helpful and manner quite rude whilst taking the order. I chose to ignore that because we were all so hungry and needed food. Plus Mr Woos was shut so we had no alternative. When the food arrived and we checked it all there was £45 worth of food missing. I rang up to ask them to re deliver it and the lady again was extremely rude and accused us of lying. After lots of arguing they sent £30 worth of food back but still missing 3 meals worth approximately £15. They wouldn’t send this food and basically ended the phone call and not heard back. Very disappointed but not surprised. Again we only use because Mr woos was shut. Will never use again. Disgusting customer service when we have spent nearly £165. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Every time we go the service is always quick and the food is tasty. Good value for money too 👍

For me, the best chow mein in town. The salt and pepper chips have to be tried. We always collect so nothing to say on the delivery front. Good sized portions.

Considering this is the only take away that delivers and takes card payments over the phone other thann Dominos's to our area, they are a godsend :)The food was excellent and delivered on time. The portions were very generous , so much so that we had leftovers for the next day which was a treat. Definately will be sing again

Ordered a delivery from Capital, for starters the driver had ago f-ing and blinding at me as the postcode takes them slightly further then straight to our gate, despite me giving clear instructions when I ordered. Once the delivery was handed over, the lettuce was hot and all flimsy, and the pancake roll smelt of vinagar once cut in half. We called up to complain and was then charged again for the meal, to which I demanded a cash refund.We have been a customer of these for over 3 years, and can definitely say we won't be ever again.

Delivered very quickly, as ever decent food and good value. The fillet steak cooked in black bean sauce is particularly good.

Ok granted it's not the best Chinese in the area but our food is always nice and good size portions for your money. We go here quite regularly and always treated well by the staff who are all friendly and polite

Capital fried rice - lovely, the beef is nice and not chewy at all. S&S chicken balls - very nice, not greasy like most takeaways. Chicken chow mein - really tasty. Prawn toast - really good, 1 portion goes round a small family easy. Seaweed - mmm. Overall portion standards - very good for what you pay. Service - very good. I would recommend this takeaway, our experience was very good and we will be ordering again.

My wife and I used to go here all of the time back in the day when it was owned by "Tony" and we have not had a Chinese for a good while. We decided to give it a go as it is now only take away and we wanted a quiet night in. I will not be going back. You cannot pay on card if it is not over £30 so I then had to go back out in the pouring rain to the cash point. For what we had it was expensive, and the food!! Terrible to be honest. Both my wife and I could taste the food for the next couple of days, it was awful, made us feel unwell. I would give this place a wide berth in the future.

Worst takeaway we've ever had. Chips like rubber, pancakeroll only had 2 small pieces of chicken in it then just beansprouts, spring chicken well over cooked. And all of it was cold. DONT eat here. OURS went straight in the bin. Not even worth 1 star.

Ordered a take away Friday, paid by card (£53!!) Asked for it to be left in a safe place. No signal on my phone (my fault but had asked for it to be left) no meal no come back!! Now £53 lighter as 'they don't do refunds'

3rd takeaway meal from Capitsl and you can tell the difference in quality. Generous portions and really fresh. Latest dish seafood delight and it was cooked to perfection. Would definitely recomnend!🥢

Ordered and deliveries within 40minutes - myself (chicken curry, rice and ribs) and my partner (sweet and sour & rice) thought the food was very good - fairly good value for money

5th November 2016 Where do I start with this review that's the question as from start to finish to whole experience was a disaster .I phoned up for a delivery at 5.45 pm on a Saturday night placed the order and was told it would be delivered in 45 minutes . I understand that places get busy but after an hour and half with still no delivery I phoned back to be told by the owner " it was just going out of the door as we spoke and would be with me in 5 minutes " ( no apology given for the delay ) .I then waited and waited and waited and still no delivery so after another 35 minutes rang again and after the owner eventually answered the phone he said " it's just cooking now will be another 10 minutes"To which I replied " so 35 minutes ago when you told me it had left the shop you were actually lied to me " which he never answered.The food eventually turned up some 2 hours 13 minutes after ordering and after thinking things couldn't possibly get worse I was proved wrong once I opened the food .The sesame prawn toast was basically fried bread with a few sesame seeds on which either contained invisible prawns or they had escaped on the journey .My partner who only eats chicken opened her Malaysian fried rice advertised as containing 'chicken pineapple peas and chilli ' to find it actually contained pork, beef , prawns and anything else that could be squeezed into the carton .Next time the local authorities are looking for salt to grit the roads during a shortage I suggest they visit here as the taste of salt will live me for the next 3 days . Never again lesson learnt a truly shocking culinary experience!!!!

the food is rubbish and full of salt since it was taken over, the old capital was far superior, its just takeaway know would not recommend at all

I phoned up and made an order to be delivered. When my order turned up I was missing my curry sauce. I phoned up and told them in missing some of my order and they wouldn't delivery it.

We like a Chinese now and again , lady behind counter very friendly, food was bit salty 1st time so asked for less salt and they sorted it, great choice of dishes best Chinese in uttoxeter, shame you can't sit down, must visit

The capital was a good Chinese when Tony ran it but since its been under new management its awful, at one time you could sit in and have a meal now it's just a take away Rubbish

What a great Chinese restaurant the meals here are to really good, i have no dislikes at all as the food is good

Very average food, nothing like authentic Chinese or as good as it was for many years under its original owner, But is on a par with any of the other Uttoxeter Chinese restaurants, which is no recommendation,

Great value tasty food however bit salty get loads of food plenty of dishes for set meal for 2 £18.80 will go again service great take away only

We have had plenty of take aways fro mCapital and never a bad one. Traditional chines cuisine with interesting Thai menu that I still havent tried yet but definitely will be. Very good all round, quick and they deliver.
