“Happy to help” couldn’t be further from the truth! The attendants all just hang around in big groups talking all the time and begrudgingly do their job (sometimes!) Not a great reflection on ASDA, or the East Midlands…

My wife and I have been coming here for several years. Unfortunately we have noticed a deterioration in the time it takes to get served and the quality of the hot drinks. It is a pleasant cafe to sit in but it seems good well trained staff have left and this has led to poorer service and quality of the coffee drinks served.

Fabulous food, beautifully presented. A combination of traditional pub food and a select choice of more unique dishes. The service is very much more pub grub than restaurant. No one offers to take your coat, service is tardy, often no one to be found in either of the restaurant rooms and a long wait for anyone to appear. Fussing over trying to top up wine after every sip. Ambiance - nice old building and decor, shame that although the fires in the bar were lit, the ones in the restaurant were not, 4°C outside, lady sitting by ‘fire’ wearing jumper had to put her coat on. Refurb included cheap tacky toilet seats that don’t fit and move about in the ladies! This place has the potential to be somewhere really special but …
