We ordered crispy wontons, a pulled pork CHIMICHANGA, Red Thai curry and salt and pepper chips. All tasted amazing, will definitely be going back here. It was definitely worth the wait and was even delivered by the owner.

Recientemente accidentalmente encontré este lugar y fuimos. . . . . . Dios mío el menú amplia puede ser desagradable, pero después de tener una palabra con el personal vino con un cartón de deliciosa comida encontramos comiendo fideos asiáticos y verduras por primera vez y qué gusto, sin duda volveremos mantener el buen nivel

Quite shocking considering the owner bigged up his wife to celebrity chef status the whole time my food was cooking i was left mortified at the lack of taste and pure greased filed carton I had in front of me . Best salt and pepper chips in town the owner said get some with your order he said.....ha Possibly the worst I've ever tasted never ever again.

All a bit squashed in and not too tasty, mostly tasteless in some and just heat in others. Not very appetising to look at.

Just a lot better than your standard take away for the same price. Nice food, well cooked. Not 5* restaurant standard but it isn't a restaurant. Pad Thai is nice contrary to other reviews - it's just a bland dish unfortunately. Nice to have a change from the tens of other thoughtless, msg laden 'Oriental' take always in the area

I took the opportunity to try the Phad Thai while out shopping. Like the previous reviewer I had been assured that it was not to be missed. I was also treated to the owners continual chatter. The food was ghastly, a tub full of soggy tasteless noodles with 1 yes 1 solitary prawn. I cannot over emphasise how bland this meal was.

I tried this place as a few friends had recommended it with some vigour. However on arrival I soon recognised I had made a mistake, if the awful decor at the counter and cavalier use of ridiculous fonts don't put you off, then the relentless chatter of the Owner and his endless pursuit to promote his wife to celebrity chef status will.I ordered the Yaki Soba (traditionally thick Japanese noodles) and my wife ordered Katsu Curry, My wife and I spent quite some time in Japan, so like to think we know a thing or two about these Japanese dishes. Both were disgusting and far from being 'authentic' , my 'Yaki Soba' was no more than damp spaghetti pasta in some kind of sauce and the Katsu....well there's no words to describe how awful that was.Portions are very small, thankfully, and even if you can eat the portions it doesn't represent value for money. It brings me no pleasure having to write such a bad review for a local business, if it wasn't promoted with such bombast and hyperbole I would be less stinging. But if this Or any other of his restaurants ( he owns/owned a few oriental ventures in the local area) existed in a city they wouldn't last a month as their brand of unauthentic and bland oriental cuisine would be soon found out. But for Barrow and it's unadventurous culinary palette, this place remains popular.....god knows why.

My hubby and I called in here and expected the food to be fabulous given the coverage Chef Ooy gets in the local paper. The noodle dish was lukewarm and uninspiring. To say the noodles were cooked fresh they tasted a day old.We won't be eating here again.

Had our first takeaway from Canoodles last night. We pre-ordered & the food was ready when we arrived to collect, no waiting. We had spring rolls, pad Thai & drunken noodles. All were delicious and good portion sizes for the price. Thoroughly enjoyed the food, good service & we will return.

Worked in Barrow for 8 months and never actually got to eat their food because the only time I tried I was told that noodles would take 30minutes to prepare because they were busy with orders. My order was one they didn't get. So much for fast food!

You can see Chef was working hard in the kitchen through the glass window. The menu is restricted mainly to noodle dishes when I went but basically she can do anything and everything Thai. Authentic food, friendly service

Tastes nice and a good idea. But get a regular size and you get a box of noodles and a sprinkle of meat on top, not mixed through. Get a large, and you get a bigger box of noodles with the same amount of meat as a small, inside is covered in pink carpet glued to everything not very well. And you have to wait a long time for a very simple meal in a box

I've been working as a contractor in Barrow for year now so I've had plenty of time to scope out the competition. Barrow (and Ulverston) have a strong Eastern food community, with a fair share of Chinese and Thai restaurants, but this tops them all.Sure it's a noodle bar, not a restaurant, but the service from the staff is excellent, the food is quick to prepare (although there may be a large queue some nights), and the quality of the dishes is superb.Although the menu is primarily Thai (Chef Ooy herself is Thai) there are extensions to popular Japanese and Chinese dishes.A final note on the portion sizes, as other reviewers have mentioned, the standard 16oz box may look small but don't be fooled, it'll be plenty. The 32oz New Yorker may look more your style but is a wok full of noodles, and a meal to be shared (or a food challenge in the ilk of Man vs Food!)

My boyfriend recommended and took me to Canoodles after he'd tried the Drunken Noodles on a previous visit. The staff at Canoodles are the friendliest take-away staff I've ever met and I really enjoy going there as we always have a good chat whilst we eat. You can see your order being made and there's a lot of choice, including vegetarian dishes. The prices are fantastic value for the amount of food you get and are always filling. If you like hot and spicy noodles then the Drunken Noodles is the one for you. I enjoy the Singapore Noodles which isn't to spicy and are full of flavour. The staff are always happy to help recommend dishes you may like depending on your tastes and how hot and spicy you'd like it. I would defiantly recommend people go to Canoodles for a take-away meal!

Feeling the need for something spicy I made my way to Canoodles to carry on my culinary adventure through the wonderful menu from Chef Ooy.Choosing from the Hot and Spicy section I went for the Drunken Noodles and being particularly hungry i choose the largest size container. WOW! the amount of food i got was amazing and the taste was wonderful, a real classic. There was enough to feed two hungry people or in my case have an extra spicy breakfast! If your not in the mood for spicy I highly recommend the Kastu Japanese curry, a sweet fruity curry that is sublime. Its subtle flavours combined with a real curry punch has to be one dish to try if you find yourself in Barrow. You can watch Chef Ooy, a true master of the culinary arts, prepare your meal while you wait and John is always good for the craic!

I have been to Chef Ooy's Canoodles every week since it opened and have to say the food here is better than even the food I have tried in Thailand (I have been to Thailand over 20 times). it's a very busy takeaway and it's best to put your order in first and you can even watch "Chef Ooy" Cook your meal through the glass viewing screen and the prices are probably the cheapest in the area, but I always upgrade to super size American noodle boxes and have it over lunch & dinner.

This is by far the best takeaway I have had. We gave just about tried everything on the menu now and everything has been lovely but my favourites are the Katsu Japanese curry and the Yaki Soba Japanese Noodles. You can tell that everything is made from fresh ingredients and that the food is prepared with love and attention. We haven't had any other kind of takeaway since we first went here as nothing compares to it.

Great takeaway! Definitely beats spending £8 on a tasteless pizza from somewhere. The food is cooked fresh in front of you and is really tasty. Its great that the owners are so passionate about food. It's a much needed change to the Barrow takeaway market and they are setting the standard very high.

Went after being recommended by a friend. Ordered the Thai Red Curry and the Drunken Noodles. Both very very tasty. The small box made me think I wouldn't get enough. How wrong was I! No idea how they manage to squeeze it all into the small box but it was more than enough! The salt and pepper chips were amazing. Been back three times since! Highly recommend

I am bored with normal chinese/indian take out. We decided to look for thai for a change and were rewarded with canoodles, in Barrow-in -Furness. First thing, the food is great!!! There is no other word for it. Beware, this place is busy and it does not deliver!!, The best way on a weekend is to phone and they will tell you when to turn up or you will wait for a couple of hours at the premises. This place is very popular. I had Balmi Goreng and my Wife had Pad Thai. The standard size is £5.50, add £2 for medium and another £2 for kings size which is HUGE!! I advise only the middle size if you are very hungry. I could eat here every day and not bat an eyelid. The food is that good.

I hadn't prebooked a room but one was available, and I was so glad! My visit to Barrow to help a family member with a move was extremely stressful! My room was warm, comfortable and the shower was fab! Breakfast was perfect too! A big thank you to Rick and Jackie! You went out of your way to help me and it is very much appreciated. I will be back!

Excellent Sunday lunch in the king Alf. Tables are well spaced out and everyone following the covid rules including a one way system. The staff are extreamly professional and this is evident soon as you arrive. My wife had roast beef with all the trimmings and I had a 14oz gammon steak with fluffy home made chunky chips. The onion rings are superb too. Both meals were very good with huge portions so this is worth bearing in mind if you order a starter.

This place used to be nice food, shocking now the last two times I’ve been, the guy working behind the counter puts me off my food, dirty clothes, and handles money then handles food with his bare hands then wipes his hands on his clothes…. Minging won’t be returning after years of been a customer
