Fantastic meal tonight to celebrate my son's 13th Birthday . We got amazing service from us arriving to leaving . The meals were Fantastic and presented well . Special mention for Nanna for looking after us all night . Thank you to Pedro and his team for the Fantastic service that they always provide.

The food at Francesca’s is always delicious. The calamari rings are some of the best I’ve ever had, and well worth going back for. The service is attentive but not always the most rapid. This is an extremely busy restaurant, and because of that the staff are somewhat busy at times. The restaurant is now starting to look a little old and tired. Still pleasant, but it could possibly do with being a little lighter and fresher.

Nana went above and beyond to make our evening extra special. She was friendly and sweet, made recommendations and even brought me out a happy birthday ice cream as that’s why we were dining out! She made the whole meal an experience we won’t forget! Thank you Nana <3

We have been coming to francescas for years and always love it here. The menu has changed over the years and recently I tried a dish that I've not had before, risotto pollo. I've seen a review on here of outrage the rice is yellow, though that will be the saffron as listed in the menu 🙂 delicious and would definitely order again! I do hope they bring the pasta bake back at some point though too!

Took ages to get served both after sitting down and trying to order drinks . Wasn't busy but the staff stood at the bar/serving area and my family member had to Aproach the bar to get an order. We had menus provided on entry but the wait for both food and drink really let the Establishment down.

I never really liked the food here but when we last visited it has improved massively. Had garlic king prawns and they were delicious, would also recommend cheese garlic bread

We have not been to Francescas for quite a few years as it was closed for quite a long time. It was great to go back again and find it was as good if not better than before. The food was great and there was a nice buzz about the place. We will be back soon

We came here as a group of 5. The main courses were great, big portions, everyone liked them. We all had eton mess for dessert, also great! a nice busy cheerful restaurant. Good price.

We come here regularly as its one of our favourite places to eat as a family. We are warmly welcomed and it's always delicious food and great portions, and the kids love it... Tonight I got the Beef Stroganoff and it was seriously good. Loads of perfectly cooked tender steak and really good rich sauce served with rice and amazing chips 😋 so thought it was worth a review.. Yellow Risotto!!! 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢 Absolutely disgusting management here, food was horrible and more than food customer service was absolutely disgusting as well, upon raising the concern to the manager "Pedro" who was very rude and dismissive, would not recommend this place at all, as the food was not nice at all specially for the price they charge and moreover the service was disgusting.. very very rude management.. , "Alert" please be aware of the scorching fiery plate in which the food is served can leave you with some blister on hand this is how hot the plates are in this place and no generosity shown from the member of staff to inform us that the plate is fiery hot and be careful ! End up leaving blister on arm, specially to the family with kids and elderly as this place done give a flying cockroach to let you know atleast you might burn your arms.. No care attitude completely waste of money.. This place needs some real Italian authentic Chef real one who knows how Italian food is cooked and taste like, and a good manager who knows how to speak to the customers and resolve the issues instead of arguing...

I’ve just returned home from Francesca’s and I’m disgusted to have witnessed such rude behaviour from the so called “manager” towards two gentleman sat on a table next to us. I was unhappy with my pasta which was seemingly very overcooked but I felt uncomfortable addressing this to the waiter and so I stomached as much as I could to get my moneys worth. The plate was red hot but the pasta was lukewarm which I found very strange at the time but didn’t think much of it. That was until the gentlemen on the next table received his food and unfortunately burnt his arm on the plate set down in front of him. He was in clear distress and as a medical worker I offered my assistance to which he politely declined. He shortly after raised his concerns to the Francesca’s staff who were nothing but dismissive of the entire incident and did not even ask the poor man if he was ok. His arm was all blistered and he was clearly uncomfortable, yet the waiter was extremely arrogant towards him. At this point the “manager” came to deal with the situation. The gentleman expressed his disappointment with the food to which he was belittled by the manager which I found astonishing. For the prices they charge you expect edible food & service with a smile which isn’t a big ask. This restaurant should take health and safety seriously before a more serious burn is the result of their negligence to inform customers of hot plates. RUDE STAFF, DISGUSTING FOOD & AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN!!!!!

Ate here twice , a busy Wednesday evening and last Saturday late lunch. Food and service was excellent on both visits , menu very well priced.

Fantastic meal for a family meet up

We literally came in here by random because of our lousy hotel food and we came across this restaurant, and I must say chef very generous on portions and my wife ordered twice the tiramisu, omg great job!!!

Visiting Barrow for the weekend. I was looking for somewhere to eat out. Looked over a couple of places on Google. Narrowed down to 2. I chose here. I'm happy that I did. Great atmosphere from the moment I walked in. Having not booked I was found a table immediately. From the moment I got there to the moment I left, the staff were really nice. Food, starter and main arrived hot. All good arrived quickly. Very tasty food. Tiramisu was the best I've ever had. Price was fantastic. Thanks to the team.

The service was absolutely amazing, our orders were taken really fast and we didn’t have to wait long at all for our starter or main course. The inside of the restaurant is decorated beautifully with comfy seats and big tables. We ordered the asparagus with honey, balsamic and goats cheese for our starter which was lovely, the carbonara was nice and cheesy and not bland at all. The pizza was okay, next time I would just order a full size portion of pasta rather than the half and half. My partner had the seafood linguine and said the seafood was nice but nothing special, it had a good variety of seafood. We would definitely come back as the staff were all really friendly and it is very reasonably priced

Lots and lots of really nice Italian food. Huge portions and very tasty.

The pizzas were very good but didn't enjoy the pastas they tasted like synthetic tomatoes.

A pint of aspell cider, awesome chicken pate followed by salmon tagliatelle. The orange and caramelised onion taste coming through the pate was brilliant. It complimented the apple cider. Tagliatelle had smooth creamy source and taste of smoked salmon. A tad bit salty for my liking but still managed to finish. Decent portion sizes. Spent £22, i had paid more than this to holiday inn next door for microwave fish and chips.

First time I had been there, Wednesday night and was lucky to get a seat. Staff were friendly and accommodating, atmosphere buzzing and the food was good too. Will visit again when next there.

Eat here often for dinner and always have a lovely time. Fresh cooked generous meals with great ingredients that don't leave you feeling unhealthy. Had a minor issue recently with a meal and the manager was incredibly apologetic and understanding. Excellent on all fronts, can't recommend enough 👌

Great pizza and good value. However we were put on the worst table in the restaurant when half of the place was empty; we could have been offered a nicer table for a nicer experience.

Myself and 3 other friends visited here on a Friday evening. All meals were delicious, especially the steak that two of us had. Cooked to perfection. The chap that served us I believe was called Tom - outstanding service and we all had a great laugh with him. Just what you want when dining out. An all round positive experience

Good food & service made a celebration extra special

I highly recommend the steak dish if you’re looking for something meaty and filling! This was the 8oz Ribeye served with mushrooms & tomato and I ordered chunky chips as the side accompaniment but you can either have chips, vegetables or salad. I also ordered the Dolcelatte sauce. Everything was cooked to my liking and tasted incredible. Can’t wait to return and try out other main dishes off the menu.

What has happened to this resturant? I used to be a frequent customer, the food was excellent as well as the service. It seems its been given a face lift but has lost everything else. The food was tasteless and I only mentioned this when asked if everything was OK. I had eaten my starter as I was hungry and was not expecting to get it for free but at the end of the day, it WAS tasteless! An opportunity for improvement ✨️ I was made to feel I had no idea what I was talking about, well I can assure you, I DO! My father and brothers were fishermen and I've eaten this dish in many countries around the world. I have only one tip....If you do not want an answer........don't ask the question!

Been twice this month and it's a lovely restaurant with very attentive staff, gorgeous Italian scran and the atmosphere is great. Love that they offer an NHS discount because most places locally don't honour Blue Light or show much support. My new favourite place to eat, drink and enjoy!

Good food and friendly service. Place was busy which was a good sign but service was authentic and prompt, food was good and quick to the table but they made it very clear we had the table for as long as we needed. Would visit again, an easy recommendation.

Good interior. Good service, there is a large selection on the menu. Food quality needs to be refined , salads with no dressing. My chicken milanese was very thick.

Me and my husband come here every week for date night. We always have a great experience here. The food is fresh and delicious - best bruschetta and past dishes I have ever had! The pizza is made fresh on site, you can see the guy making the dough at the front of the restaurant. Even when they're busy, the food is always brought out to you quickly and you won't be left waiting. The atmosphere is perfect, and one of the waiters has a true Italian charm which truly adds to the experience! Have to say that this is our favourite Italian restaurant in Barrow. Thanks team, for giving us amazing, authentic Italian food and for just being great 👍🏻

"A warm, friendly welcome awaits you at Francesca’s Restaurant & Pizzeria." Well not really. The food was great, decor was lovely, but the staff were so rude it spoiled everything for us. Our waitress slapped our menu on the table. It was as like we weren't wanted there, so won't be going back.

Well what can i say, the seating has been refurbished since last i ate here, staff are attentive and friendly and the foods amazing. Highly reccommend here.

Nicely laid out. Good atmosphere. I don't eat out very often, but I thought just under £16 for a main, share of a garlic bread and a lime snd soda was not too bad. The Samon Linguine was very nice. I was one of a party of 12. One meal was totally wrong, which was disappointing. Cheese and 'biscuits' was actually cheese and bread. I thought, £8.95 was a bit steep, but it was not mine. Our booking was for 6.30pm and it was quite busy throughout. Some of the staff lacked basic manners and were a little 'touchy' with one of our party. However, the young man who came to collect glasses was lovely. Would recommend to others.

we visited this restaurant for dinner and had a great time. lovely food and good atmosphere. we couldn’t book table in advance but the staffs were happy to assist. carbonara, veg risotto and bolognaise were really good. will go back

I can't say enough good things about Francesca's Italian Restaurant. Their half pizza half pasta offering is the best. It's such a great option that satisfies all cravings! Whenever me and my daughter's dine there, we always leave with big smiles on our faces because the food is so flavourful and well-prepared.

We had been through a long day of travelling, and were recommended this restaurant by the hotel we were staying in. I'm glad we went! The portion sizes were absolutely massive, and all the food was fantastic (it's been nearly 2 hours since we had food, and I'm still stuffed!) I had the beef stroganoff and my partner had the pollo crema, with chips and salad on the side (had we known the portion sizes, we probably wouldn't have had the cheesy garlic bread as well. Even though it was absolutely delicious!) Absolutely first class food and service. If we're down this way again, we'll definitely be back!

Lovely, lovely, lovely. We were worried we wouldn't get a table as we hadn't booked but they squeezed us in. My husband ordered the smoked salmon starter- it was huge and some of the most stunning salmon I've ever tasted. We then both went for the steak which was absolutely stunning and cooked to perfection. Although it was packed, our waiters were super attentive- topping up our wine and checking in that we were okay. As it calmed down, one of the waiters had more time to chat to us for longer and brought over some Limoncello for us to toast our honeymoon which was a really lovely thing to do.

Great value for money, and the food quality is unbelievable. Portions are massive for the price, and some of the nicest seafood. Everything tasted fresh.

I had the pollo caliente with fries. It was not bad but portion wasn't large enough to justify £16. It certainly was caliente bit the chicken was a bit tough. Chips were good would have liked more. A collegue got the calzone and BOY was it HUGE. And much cheaper than my thing. I'd really like to try it someday.

Absolutely ridiculous arrogant staff wouldn't seat us saying no tables despite the place being practically empty... I find sone people shouldn't be in jobs where customer service is paramount... obviously judged us as undesirable were from out of town none of us drinks so its not asif we're drunk making a nuisance of ourselves

Just been once on a weekend away, the food was great, price was great and service was great. The thing I loved was the half pizza and half pasta which suited me down to the ground.

We came here with out a booking, and they were very welcoming. The food was delicious. The staff were lovely and we had a fantastic time. I personally recommend the sea food linguine. My partner and daughter both had half pasta/pizza and thougherly enjoyed it. Well done Francesca's if we are in Barrow again we will definitely come here again.

Would like to thank the manager and his staff for being so helpful and accommodating last night when our booking expanded and they had to swap tables around. Staff apologised for an inconvenience when it wasn't their fault. With their help we had a great night, great food, great service in a great atmosphere, thank you again.

Pasta not cooked enough was like rubber

A few years since we've been in but we'll definitely be back soon. Very good food, fast service, friendly staff and good drinks. The bases on the pizza and garlic bread were perfection.
