Salvana's in Barrow-in-Furness

This was a nice wee find. Staff were attentive and friendly. The tables were clean and spacious. I ordered a seafood risotto dish that came hot and tasty, although the risotto was slightly undercooked. While not perfect, if I had time. I would have considered a second. On the wall was a notice about not using Scottish money. Being scottish, it felt a bit unwelcoming. However, used my card, so electronic scottish money no problem apparently.

Lovely, haven't been in years, really enjoyed.

I Googled to find a restaurant in Barrow in Furness , initially the staff were extremely helpful regarding parking the car The food was excellent, in fact the best Italian I have ever tasted, Delicious

Steak asked well done, came medium And sauce was unbelievable salty, asked to change, they changed was a bit less salty, but still not tasty

Great food, great service and the most excellent pizzas. We turned up early on a Friday night without a booking. Expecting it to be quiet but it wasn't so. However, the waitress very quickly found us a table and brought us our pizzas in no time. They were great

I tried to order a takeaway and I got told I can't pre order so I rang when I needed it then got told to ring back in 20 mins and when I went to ring again I was spoken to really bad saying 'how is it to busy' and I just don't rappreciate it

We were refused a table probably due to being late , would not give them my time or money in future spoilt my evening

Staff brilliant. It was too noisy where we were seated. Asked to move, it was no problem and so much better where they moved us to. It was very busy and loud. Unfortunately the meals we ordered were not so good. Siciliana sausage and a salmon meal, all we could taste was salt. Very disappointed

My son booked a table here as a treat for my big birthday. Ordered the slow cooked belly pork for starters and we were blown away, huge portions of extremely flavourful belly pork, then had Cajun chicken pasta for main. Couldn't eat It all as we were very full. Had to take what was left home in doggy bags.

Excellent food, exceptional and friendly service. The owner even stopped by our table to ask how everything was - which is a rare sight nowadays. My fiance and I had a lovely Valentine's Day thanks to Salvo and his wonderful staff! Will definitely come again!

Food and service was nice been in twice this week and had to keep our coats on asked for the radiator to be turned on only to be told they don't work and pointed out little air conditioning unit but no heat from them. Food was nice and staff attentive and polite just a very cold building

I visited Salvana restaurant midweek, it was the busiest restaurant in the town. The food was ok & the service was ok. However, from a positive point of view, my visit to Salvanas restaurant was value for money

Good tasty food, good service. Definitely need to book on Wednesday through Saturday. Nice to chill out and take time to eat there.

Staff were very focused on regular patrons. Never asked if meal was OK. Did we want a sweet or coffee. Asked if we get a shot with our bill,as others were getting. We were told these are regulars . Just not good enough.

I just want to warn all customers who eat at this restaurant, the prices are extremely high and the food is very bad. many times I have found hairs in my food, I will never go back🤮🤮🤮🤮

Lovely food and good service but always feel cramped in as there is not alot of room. Cheese garlic bread a favourite. I had Cajun Penne which was gorgeous

Dropped by here mid week with no reservation. They were very busy, but managed to get a table after ~ 15mins. (would advise you book in advance). Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Good menu and food was excellent, best lasagne I've had in a long time. Highly recommend this place.

Good welcome, efficient service

The only Italian restaurant that I fully enjoy, I’ve had lots of Italian food from different restaurants and have always been left feeling disappointed because nothing gets close to salvos recipes, he knows what he’s doing and knows how to make the best food around, nothing can beat it, he makes the best garlic bread, carbonara and pancetta dishes (they are my go to) defo need to go for a meal for my birthday, it’s not a good birthday if I don’t have my fave meal 😂

Absolutely loved visiting here today, the food, the service, the atmosphere were excellent. I was a little apprehensive at first when I saw the prices of meals, what we were actually going to get. I needn't have worried. Best meal we've had in a long time, excellent pork, excellent carbonara.

The family love it in here the food is and always has been awesome. They always help us with the wheelchair. staff are always really welcoming and friendly.

I have eaten here for over a decade but it has now become more expensive and not the great place it was. I appreciate cost have risen and overheads are now crippling the service and restaurants but my last two visits I've been shocked at the final bill. Sorry salvo it's just not the value for money it was.

Simple, quick, tasty, fresh authentic Italian food

The service is so-so, you sit for an hour waiting for someone to just come to you. I don’t recommend coming here and celebrating, just spoil your mood. The waiters are no better, as soon as you express your opinion they will do something.

Food always great here, service good but atmosphere at peak times is shocking. Loud, noisy overcrowded to get through numbers, rushed when busy to get you fed n out the door for more bookings. It’s good food in groups for after work dinner but would have to pick wisely if you wanted a romantic meal here.

Really popular place! We went at 5pm on a Tuesday and it was thriving. Great service, friendly staff, quick service for food which was all delicious. We had garlic bread to start and two seafood dishes off the specials list. All really tasty. Great value with wine and desert all coming in just over £60 fir two.

Attentive and helpful in every way you'd imagine; that's all the staff too. They're all willing to step in and provide a great time and service. The food was blitzed out of the kitchen in an extremely efficient fashion that didn't sacrifice any of the quality either. It's just a shame the wine ordered wasn't apparently so nice and the only beer I believe they serve is Bud light. If you're there for the food and quality service, it'll be a great experience. The drinks if you're a draught drinker though are sub-optimal. I'd recommend a nice red. The last time I went here, that was great! For reference I ordered the Bistecca and my partner, the tagliatelle faggatini.

I had the most amazing experience at Salvana's Italian Restaurant! The chicken livers as a starter were absolutely mouthwatering, and the cheesy garlic bread we shared was divine. The seafood tagliatelle with salmon and prawns was beyond delicious – each bite bursting with flavour. I can't stop thinking about going back for those incredible chicken livers again. Definitely a must-visit for any food lover!

Just two of us rocked up unannounced, they were most accommodating and managed to seat us after a fifteen minute wait. Food was great as normal, massive selection. Staff attentive, what more could you ask for?

I went to Savana's restaurant with a group of friends. There were 10 of us and we were all made to feel very welcome. We all had a great time and the food was fantastic, which is what you would always expect it to be. Please keep keep it up.

Very busy for a Thursday lunchtime, was suprised. The service was excellent and the staff where very attentive. Food was ok. Dont need to rush back. Not bad but not great

2 stars for squeezing me in without a booking. How is this place rammed? My Masala Chicken main was so sweet it was like eating main and dessert in one. I asked what this chicken dish was served with.... I was told vegetables! They used the term loosely..... It consisted of a slice of green pepper, a slice of red pepper and slice of yellow pepper, a slice of courgette and the smallest baked potatoe i have ever seen. Very disappointing. Nothing like other Italian restaurants i have been to, where you get beautiful Italian roasted potatoes, tender stem broccoli and roasted whole carrots. Come on Salvana's..... Your veg is a cop out. I wont be back..... However the service and the wine thankfully made the journey worthwhile.

Excellent experience. Booked for 4 people at short notice, we were fitted in on a busy Saturday night. Restaurant appeared extremely busy when we arrived but we were seated very promptly. The food was wonderful (loved the chicken stuffed with haggis) and the service was speedy and friendly.

Went with husband, and granddaughter.He wasn't keen, as he doesn't like pasta, he loved his Pizza though, so all good. I tried something new, recommended by lovely front of house person, and it was gorgeous, also thoroughly enjoyed by granddaughter. Happy hour! Nice surprise.

Always lovely tasty food freshly prepared and a friendly atmosphere. Excellent choice of regular menu dishes (antipasti, pastas, pizza and more) as well as the Special Menu selection which is changed regularly. All the staff and the owners are attentive without being overbearing. Always popular and busy but the staff are still great even when full.

Been going for years since I was a kid and first off lovely place and I will always go and lovely staff but unfortunately I had raw meatballs and sent back I never had bad food from them before all theses years so I was very disappointed but felt bad because they’re normally so good so I had 5 bits of pasta so I got banoffee pie which was lovely but bill was 65 pound I would of thought they would of at least taken my dessert off like to apologise so very disappointed 😔 and sad.

I come down to work in Barrow a lot and i always come here, Food is amazing, chef is ***** FIVE STAR, staff are first class and the atmosphere is brilliant, IF u was to put this restaurant in London and triple the size the owner would be a multi millionaire, it is that good ❤️

Lovely restaurant Very attentive servers who are really polite and helpful. I had garlic bread and salt and pepper shrimp with aioli sauce for starters. Wow that sauce is amazeballs. The mains were meatballs with gnocchi. Tbh, it was well cooked but probably not my cup of tea. I felt the prices were decent. Some other guests in there were quite loud though but no fault of the restaurant.

The food here is amazing and the staff are lovely, we have been here quite a few times and we haven't been disappointed. Fresh ingredients and the price is affordable with a lovely relaxing atmospher.

I was prepared to be underwhelmed but is was actually very good. All 4 of us had great pasta dishes, my wife is gluten free and the garlic bread was among the best she has had. We will be going back.
