Cams Mill is our local and we always adore it here but tonight was a new high, my friend and I had a girls date and the service was perfect, Yulia and Jacqui looked after us, they were fantastic - so attentive, went the extra mile, really kind and just lovely people. Cams Mill is lucky to have them. The food was gorgeous and the atmosphere was great. Highly recommend. Thank you.

We hired out the mezzanine floor for our wedding reception. Steph who helped us plan was attentive throughout the planning process. Also on the day of the wedding and throughout the reception itself I cannot fault the staff! The food was amazing and our drinks were kept topped up throughout the evening. I would definitely recommend cams mill as a place to go if you want to dine in a warm and friendly environment. Thank you to all the staff at Cams Mill on the evening of the 8th November 2023 and for making our special day even more special!

Uninspiring menu.3 out of 8 starters = chicken dishes.6 out of 12 "sides" = potatoes cooked in various way. Main meals mostly heavy /battered /pie /burgers /fried limiting choice. No inspiring choice of fresh vegetables or lighter meals (except the ubiquitous salad.) Those which I ordered in lieu of a main course were unavailable (twice) so I ended up with soggy cabbage and peas. Overpriced for what is in effect unremarkable "pub grub". Modern building, spacious ,wood beams, probably built to accommodate large groups ,for which best suited. Car park dark and gloomy, some lights not working. Toilets ( upstairs) are very clean. Real fire in bar area. Lacks authenticity of traditional "pub" . Useful place to meet as is easy to find near main junction roundabout. Doubt a vegan or a vegetarian would be happy.

The venue itself is lovely. Couldn’t fault it. However the organisation + communication was a huge negative. We held an event for 40 people, the most stressful part was probably the actual people in control. Everything in which we booked was confirmed to us yet when we showed up, we were 2 tables short, 6 chairs short, nothing was set up and ready for us and tables were left dirty from previous users. The food was promised to us at 1.45pm and didn’t arrive until 2.20pm, we ordered for 40 people and were given 2 bowls of chips to split between all of us. When I had arrived staff communicated to me that management hadn’t communicated what was needed for the venue hence why nothing was set up. So much potential with this place but a disappointment especially after paying to hire it out. Emailed them with complaint on 29/07/2023 and no response so feedback left here.

Although I live in Portchester and pass this pub quite often, this was my first visit to Cams Mill. I went with three mates for a chat over a Friday lunchtime drink. We all decided to eat from the Sandwich menu (2 x Cajun chicken wraps, 1 x prawn & crayfish, 1 x haddock finger sandwich). They were all served with triple-cooked chips. We all agreed they were very tasty, well-presented, substantial helpings and good value for money. Although the waitresses were busy, they were always friendly, helpful, polite and attentive. As a wheelchair user, there was plenty of space inside and outside the building. Also, I was pleased that there were accessible facilities on the ground floor. I shall definitely go again.

A meal booked online approx. 6 weeks prior to visit, has turned into a bit of a disaster! Upon arrival, we were greeted and shown to our table by a pleasant lady. Once at the table, we were told about what the kitchen didn’t have, due to it being a busy day! We counted ourselves lucky, as what we wanted was still potentially ‘available’. The time came to order. What my wife wanted was available - excellent! What I ordered - “I’m sorry, we don’t have that”. This particular dish wasn’t mentioned as an ‘unavailable’ dish upon arrival at the table. I understand, stock changes often, and quickly, in this industry. But, clearly, this establishment has no grasp on ‘supply & demand’. Little bit of background for those not familiar with this venue; this is predominantly a ‘summer pub/restaurant’, due to the fact of the location/outlook alone. The visit was made on 30 June 2023, which, believe it or not, was a damp/drizzly day. This, of course, isn’t an indicator of how busy an establishment should be: I am merely taking this from personal/local knowledge. Drinks arrive: Pint of lager, house rose, ‘Appletiser’. Pint - flat as a pancake, so ordered a replacement. The replacement was fine, no issues there. Food arrives: Wife’s ‘Seafood Linguine’ priced at £19.95, contained x3 prawns, and a few flakes of salmon, accompanied by some tasteless linguine pasta tossed through some ‘soft cheese’ and topped with an obscene amount of cress, clearly to mask/make ‘pretty’ the bowl of overpriced pasta. To put this into perspective, the local Italian restaurant serves the same dish (albeit, with fresh pasta!), for approx. £5.00 less!! Daughter’s ‘Ham Hock, Egg & Chips’ was accompanied by a thick layer of fat, and an over-cooked egg, of course accompanied by a slathering of watercress. Mine - picked at random from the menu due to not having a ‘back-up’ (how silly was I…?!), was the ‘Pie of the Day’. So disappointed by the other guest’s meals, I reluctantly tucked in. Pie was ok, but, £18.00 for a 6cm diameter pie with (clearly) packet mash and a small amount of cabbage. We had a word with the server. Apologies were made, and references to ‘what a busy day’ it had been. Whilst you can excuse certain things, this was just a tad too far. We all left out food, and were offered compensation to return, which I think, we will probably use on alcohol!

Great setting by the estuary…lovely garden to sit and overlook the water … but the meal was very disappointing. The starter charcuterie board was really great and I ordered the bacon chop for my main , I took one mouthful and realised it had a spicy coating ..this was not mentioned on the menu and as I cannot eat spicy things it had to go back . I also asked for fries instead of triple cooked chips but they didn’t have any . The roast new potatoes were soggy and had no flavour. I sat and watched my family eat their dinners while I waited for a burger to arrive… but by the time it came I had lost my appetite and they had finished their dinner. So I hardly ate any of it. They offered me a free dessert , so had blackberry and apple crumble but this wasn’t great either . One member of my party asked for treacle sponge pudding but they had run out. All in all a very disappointing evening , we might be back for drinks but not for a meal.

Went to Cams today for a quick lunch and drink following our walk along the shoreline. Service was quick and plenty of seating was available. Ordering via the app was easy enough and the food and drinks came quickly. However, the soup was stone cold...

Cams Mill, not local to Fareham but what can i say, I have been using this over the last few weeks. I have enjoyed some amazing Cocktails by Aaron and a perfect Sunday roast with my Boyfriend. Lamb was cooked to perfection and roast potatoes...

Greeting good. Socially distanced tables good. Waiting staff not so good - they spent more time chatting amongst themselves than asking if the food was ok. The meal I ordered had chips with it. The chips were at least 80% bits. As if the bottom...

Called into this place for lunch today with my daughter, A lovely, clean, airy place, Maybe it was once a barn. Service from a young girl was good ....But the food prices are a joke! I had an ordinary Burger with a small bucket of about 10 chips £14!!!Something that would cost about £7 elsewhere. And the pudding prices made us laugh even more! We are both seasoned, “ Eater outers”. What a shame, could be great place.....

We went here for dinner mid-week, the table setting was brilliant with a quiet spot for two at the window looking over the water. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The menu was very uninspiring (but this is personal preference I guess) so I decided to order the ploughman’s platter, it was very nice. However my partner ordered the chicken burger which came swimming in oil and the bun was soggy. The only saving grace on that meal was the triple cooked chips which were lovely. For pudding we ordered the warm chocolate brownie which was ok but not warm, and the coconut rice pudding which I sent back as it was watery and bland. There was no hesitation in taking it off the bill. Overall an ‘okay’ experience but nothing more.

Great location, just off motorway, lovely scenery especially when the tide is in. Whilst acknowledging Covid issues service was distant and cold, you were sat down and advised to use the online app to order and pay. Food arrived very quickly and no complaints, fish finger sandwich was handsome and tasty. London pride as you would expect from a Fullers pub very good. If you dine/eat as the local school kicks out expect a lot of kids around , took the edge off somewhat with many going upstairs to use the toilets. Can’t fault the food and drinks, but when compared to other local venues we have dined at during Covid the difference is the service which meant only 3 stars on this visit.

We were really looking forward to a meal out here after staying away since February when we had a very enjoyable lunch for four of us. It was just my husband and myself enjoying a meal out on a Saturday evening. We were greeted by a very friendly young lady who showed us to our table, sadly not upstairs as was advised when the table was booked. The table had sticky food already on it and crumbs left in the large grooves of the wood, bit disappointing considering the current climate. We ordered online which was not too difficult and had our wine brought to us quickly afterwards. The problem came with the salad we both ordered. It was only a Caesar salad with extra toppings but what came was just a basic salad with dressing which very disappointingly had loads of brown ends on the lettuce and throughout many of the leaves. Looked like it had been cut days ago. I could see the staff doing their best to wipe down chairs etc after the tables were empty but anyone looking at our table would feel it was mucky at best, and to top it all our cutlery, nicely wrapped in a napkin, had the ends exposed which were placed on this mucky table. We will go back but not for a while.

Second time we have visited and the second time we said never again. Very limited menu with poor choices for starter and main. Beer overpriced for London never mind Fareham and best beers not available as they had been recently changed. We ordered the squid which wasn't fully battered and was thrown onto a bed of paprika aioli with no salad and was chewy due to over cooking. There was a lemon on the plate as an afterthought. For main we ordered sea bass and rump steak the sea bass was good but the new potatoes and fennel were running with grease and totally unpalatable, the steak looked good but was rancid as the oil used had burnt and flavoured the steak, the peppercorn sauce was runny and had no flavour, luckily the chips were edible however the mushroom was undercooked and jelly like and the tomatoes were also undercooked and tasteless. The only good part of the meal was the cheesecake and that probably wasn't made on the premises.

Fish and chips - with nine a a half chips, only worth the price paid with the eat out to help out scheme. I have eaten here a handful of times and each time it fails to impress.

After trying for 10 minutes to attract attention, unable to use app as it kept wanting me to download yes auto (and no I didn't want to buy a car). We decided to leave. Can't comment on food, but service not good obviously. We left the same way we came in as my elderly disabled mother needed to get to the car by the shortest route. It's not worthy of 1 star, but there's no option for no stars.

A wonderful Friday lunch with me, my wife and my elderly in-laws. Very smooth operation with the COVID restrictions being extremely well handled. Main courses were a little bit slow in arriving (hence only 4 stars) but staff were fantastic.
