Very clean,spacious room.Lift was broken so Sam offered room on lower floor.Great night's sleep and comfy bed.Breakfast was delicious lots of choice,great atmosphere.Would definitely return.

The sasuages, beans and bacon looked re-heated. The fresh apple snd orange juice was 100% watered down

We only stayed 1 night B&B but my thoughts on it are quite different to a lot of the poor reviews. The room was basic but clean. Nice bathroom. Good shower. Comfortable bed. Tea and coffee in the room. What more could you want for the price ? Plenty of free parking and breakfast was good. Not a massive selection but you could get a decent start to the day from what was on offer!! Reception and breakfast staff all very pleasant and cheerful. Multiple good mornings from the cleaning staff in the corridor. My only negatives - Last day of the blistering heat and our room had no AC. Luckily we managed to get a fan otherwise it could have been a really uncomfortable night. There was a window but for security reasons it opens ‘ajar’ so not alot of air through that. Also no lock on the bathroom. I’m a bit old fashioned I guess! If there are only 2 of you in the room you probably know when the other half is in the bathroom so that’s not a real deal breaker. All in all excellent value for money.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel & were upgraded to a family room which was comfortable. Breakfast was good , croissants, scrambled eggs etc. Good free parking & a cab away from city centre. Pleasant staff.

I came to the Campanile to charge my car and get some food and drink. I logged in on their online system as required. When I got home i received a bill for £100 for charging my car on their premises!!! I have endeavoured to query this with Parking Eye and have even provided a copy of my bank statement showing the payment for F&B. I received a thoroughly non sensical response from Parking Eye and threats to take procedings if i didnt pay. This is sharp business practice. I would strongly recommend any EV user not to use this stop.

My stay at the hotel with my girlfriend for New Year Eve was very peaceful, 5 minute drive from the centre, staff were very polite and helpful, room was very comfortable, only problem is we found a plastic bag with some litter in the draw of the wardrobe but apart from that very good!

Loved staying here. Didn’t have a problem apart From one of the staff calling me sir. But I just laughed it off. They were all very helpful. Clean rooms. Nice comfy beds. And I enjoyed my first gig with out my Kids yay

Basic hotel that served its purpose for the works do in Birmingham. Room was basic but adequate. Breakfast was good.

Difficult to give a longsighted review of this hotel as it is undergoing a major revamp at present and may, or may not be, superb in a few months. Location: Not central, but good access by car from motorway and foot from city centre, along canal tow path. But in industrial site, not the prettiest. Staff were all great, very friendly and keen to help - five stars there. But met in portacabin, enter by fire exit whilst hotel having major revamp. I think only one of four floors was being used by guests. I would not have booked if I known about the refurb. Rooms basic but good sized. Sleep quality was good but walls paper-thin. I wouldn't like to be here if the hotel was busy or had noisy guests staying. Meeting rooms was acting as temporary dining room at first - which was ok. Food better than expected but limited choice. But then I returned the next evening to be told that the restaurant was now closed of an evening (due to insufficient custom) which was a major disappointment. Breakfast was not available until 8am on Saturday -which meant I missed out.

There is basic and then there is basic. This hotel is greatly overpriced, both for the facilities and the breakfast. The room was very basic, no drawers in which to put smaller items of clothing. The beds are not secured to the floor, so that when I sat on one it rolled away and I nearly ended up on the floor. The hospitality tray consisted of the usual coffee and tea together with paper cups which also had to be used in the bathroom. There was no heating or towel rail in the bathroom. The Continental breakfast was advertised as having fruit, continental meats and cheeses but consisted of melon, grapefruit and pineapple, slices of Italian meat and prepacked tasteless Cheddar. The 'ultimate all you can eat full English breakfast' consisted of 2 slices of bacon, egg, a few mushrooms and a sausage. I could go on forever about this hotel, but it would fill the page.

The food is just what you would expect from a 2-3 star hotel restaurant. Wide choice of food and drink at good prices.

Friendly staff. Easy to get to off motorway. Nice walk into city centre. Did not eat here so cannot comment on food.

Visited here for dinner prior to going to a Concert at SSE Hydro. Eaten here on many occasions and wasn't disappointed this time either. Waiting staff very friendly and helpful. Great knowledge of their menu also. I have to recommend the Nachos as a Starter however one portion is sufficient to feed 2 so could be shared. They are absolutely amazing. Not your bog standard Nachos - these are made fresh and are certainly worth it. Not too much cheese either which suits my taste. Don't need a hammer and chisel to separate them due to a heavy amount of melted cheese. Honestly, these are absolutely to die for. Wonder if they do takeaway lol. Honestly, go and eat here - well worth it and excellent value for money too. I will be back.

The hotel is in a pretty run down part of Birmingham, and there’s not much of anything in the surrounding area

their are lots of menu options and the have a squedule for breakfast and lunch which we found really good i would go here every day if possible

Not a huge variety but my meal was possibly the only redeeming feature of this hotel. Not worth risking the stay for it though.

Arrived at the hotel mid afternoon, check in was straight forward and the staff were polite but didn't give any info regarding the restaurant, check out times, breakfast options etc.

Arrived to very busy car park it seems popular with trades men who work away from home. The room was ok but walls were patchy where fresh paint was used to cover stains on wall.

El baño estaba sucio y tenía manchas de orina encima del váter, enchufes son tan alta que no podía usar y cuando nos preguntamos por qué la habitación estaba tan sucio y si podían venir y hora pero se negaron, que no teníamos derecho a un reembolso aunque la habitación estaba sucia, en general, aconsejaría a la gente a gastar el dinero extra para un mejor servicio

Had the special which was pizza.Better than some Italian restaurant pizzas i have eatenin the past.Reasonably priced and friendly service.Pretty good overall.

Had an overnight stay on Good Friday..lovely clean and comfortable accommodation. Pleasant and helpful staff...Great breakfast..would use this hotel again.

I was up here on a business trip and had a couple of meals here. Staff were very good. Service was quick. The food was very nice and reasonably priced. Bar prices were not too bad either.

Let me start by saying my employer sent me here, as it was convenient for the meeting venue. The staff are brilliant here, very helpful and friendly but dear god the YMCA has better rooms. Mine was fairly clean but do not know who's hair was in the bath? I would like to say I was well rested but when all you can hear during the night is someone peeing in the adjacent and next room it does get to be an eventful night.Would I recommend this hotel. Guess what I am about to say? I have even told my employer who will be taking the chain off their accommodation listings.I had to travel to the city centre about 12 min's by taxi or 30 min's to walk as you are on an industrial estate bar the canal cum outdoor pool?

This Campanile is like all the others, reasonably conveniently situated - basic no mistake, because of the budget rates it caters for people on a budget - Bar/restaurant ok and to be honest great value, Steak & Fries very good priced well below anywhere else I have stayed.Great service from the bar staff and happy chef!

I stayed here for 2 nights. It is slightly out of the city centre and other attractions. Average stay, room was good.

Room was clean and had everything I needed. A picture or two on the wall wouldn't have gone amiss to add a bit of character but I was very happy with my stay. The staff were very polite and accommodating. Definitely recommended, thank you.

I chose to stay at this hotel because i searched for a pet friendly hotel on line. I usually stay at a Premier Inn when i visit my supplier but this time i wanted to take my dogs with me. On arrival it was good that there was a car park that was safe enough, check in was ok, the guy who checked us in chose our room carefully for us so our dogs didnt disturb any guests, not that they would anyway. The room was ok, pretty basic really but it was ideal for what we wanted, it was clean and warm with a view of the canal outside. Spot on. Oh it had tea making facilities an decent TV. I wasnt impressed with the shower much as it was one of the mixer showers but there was plenty of hot water and the pressure was good enough once you got the mix right. Lucky enough the weather was good so we could eat outside on the veranda as we had the dogs. We were told to walk through the restaurant by the reception staff onto the veranda outside but when we did the girl Jackie behind the bar nearly had a hairy fit with a bit of bad attitude, i wasnt impressed with her service anyway, had to ask for ice for our drinks, maybe we got off on the wrong foot because we walked through with the dogs, oh also while i remember, we paid for our drinks as we got them but on check out i was asked for £4.80 for drinks we had, the reception girl sorted that out for me, no problem. Another thing was that Jackie charged me £6.60 for our drinks but when my wife went and got the same drinks she was charged £4.80....The food at night: Basic, it was nice enough but it was basic. Not a great deal on the menu to choose from either.Breakfast: Small plated up breakfast came with 1 sausage (budget sausage) 1 bit of bacon, 1 spoon of beans, 1 hash brown and some tin mushrooms. It was only a fiver though and filled the gap ready for our day.The hotel was situated away from everything so you need to travel into the centre if you needed anything. All in all, it worked out ok for us as it was the 1st time we had stayed in a hotel with our dogs and it was a working weekend so i would probably return but i will try other pet friendly hotels 1st. Overall, its clean, warm and was ideal for our 1 night stop over.

Stayed for 3 nights. Check in was resonance and the front areas of the hotel were well presented. Hotel room was basic with TV, wardrobe, tele, bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities. Main issues were the stains all up one wall and the one plug socket by the door, well away from the bed or side table??? Breakfast was resonable, the continental was a little sparse but the cooked breakfast was cheap but well cooked (runny yolks on an egg is pretty good in my book). Comfortable beds but for the price not worth it!

J'ai été très satisfait sur le côté Hôtel: l'accueil, etc., mais beaucoup moins sur la restauration, le repas ne me convenait pas et il n'était pas très chaud. Un voisin de table a demandé par deux fois de réchauffer son plat. Personnellement j'attendais une personne, je n'étais pas là pour faire un plat gastronomique mais déçu quand même.

The staff at reception were all very friendly, the room was clean and had all the basic facilities (tea and coffee, tv). The only downfall for the room is that the bed is wheels, which made getting in and out of bed too fast quite amusing. The restaurant was lovely, and the staff in there were great! Overall very impressed!

My son and I stayed here one night when going to watch Aston Villa V Birmingham city. It's basically a budget hotel but it was very good. I will definitely recommend this Campanile hotel although it's not the same with all Campanile hotels (eg Campanile, CHELLES. France).

We stayed here as we're from worcester and went to watch hairspray the musical. It was very nice. Very clean. Had everything that you needed. Car park, WiFi, restaurant, bar, hairdryer, wardrobe, extra duvet and pillows, TV, heater in room. Very reasonable price and we enjoyed our one night stay :)

We booked this hotel a few months before and was a bit disappointed. The concierge tried charging us more which she eventually agreed not too as we had booked it in advance. The rooms are clean and location great. Restaurant isn't nice.

Avoid this place. Staff are arrogant, lift stinks of wet dogs, rooms are small, dirty bed linen, no locks on bathroom doors, over all the worst hotel I have ever stayed in!!! The restaurant well that was shocking! They got every element of the meal wrong, the staff are rude and never once asked how our meal was, the prices of drinks are ridiculously expensive, they staff haven't got a clue what they are doing and the chef is clearly incompetent. The breakfast in the morning was horrendous with luke warm food and they ran out of eggs, they tried to tell us they didnt have our booking and we hadn't paid for breakfast. The orange juice tasted of water as it was that watered down you could see through it! The hotel needs closing down before someone gets ill. Its dirty in places and I had blood on my bed sheet. Definitely will never stay here again.

My son and I stayed at this hotel on Tuesday night and it was dire. The restaurant wasn't busy, about 15% occupied. They managed to get every element of our order wrong. Initially they only gave us one starter when we order two. The main course was ordered with an extra burger which we didn't get until we complained. They then took our meals back to the kitchen area and left them standing on the counter until they cooked two more burgers. This meant that when we got them back the original burgers where barely warm. we ordered two different sweets, but got two the same. We were kept waiting for over 25 minutes for our sweets as the staff were all standing in the kitchen feeding themselves from a buffet that had been put out for some company groups who hadn't turned up for their evening meals. Obviously had eaten there the night before and not wanted to try it again. The portions were small and the food was not particularly good quality. The Chef needs to look at his hygiene standards and be more aware of cross contamination. The drinks at the bar are a ridiculous price, similar to what you pay in London.Breakfast the following day wasn't much better, the orange juice was watered down to within an inch of its life. The eggs ran out and they took ages to replace them. The bacon was full of fat and very salty, the only saving grace was that the coffee (from a machine) was nice. I've stayed many times at the Campanile at Bradford and it's completely different. Even the staff at Birmingham were miserable, hardly got a smile at all, avoid at all costs.

Only had continental breakfast, very nice choice, cereal, fruit, yogurts, toast, jams. Could upgrade to full English for a couple of pounds more

Good value. Rooms simple. Had restaurant and bar on site. A good venue for one night stays. Parking good. Dog friendly. Shame the Leffe draft wasn't available.

I was at a meeting here with a group of 11 for two days. The first day we went down for lunch. You order and pay at the till then sit down to be served. I waited almost 50 minutes for food. I was second to order and had asked for a baked potato, as had the person in front of me. After waiting for 30 minutes (only about three of the others had been served at this point) I queried where it was only to be told they'd run out of potatoes! They hadn't come back to ask me for any other choice though. On the second day I took menus to the meeting room and came down with a list of what we wanted at 11.10 asking for the 11 meals to be ready for 12.30. It was after 1 before any food arrived. Again the food came out in bits an pieces and the girls serving didn't have a clue what it was they were bringing out, which didn't help. Others who had come into the restaurant after us and who hadn't pre-ordered were served first. We sent one of the omelettes back (it was more like scrambled egg) and another hadn't turned up at all by 1.10. When we asked where it was we were told there was only one chef! Those of us who ordered fish had it served on a lump of mash with the skin on. Lousy food and even worse service.

The restuarant is very spacious, there are several TV screens which show news programmes and live sport as well. The menu is full of choice and variety, and is really quite reasonable, especially the meal deal - 3 courses of selected dishes for £14.50. The food quality is quite inconsistent, and although the presentation is good, the taste can be a big let down. Some of the dishes are pretty decent but others are very average (I would avoid the Eaton Mess at all costs, as it is essentially a bowl of squirty cream). The staff are friendly enough and the service is fairly quick. I'd avoid eating here for a special occasion unless you are staying at the hotel, as you would privavlu be disappointed. The tastes of the beers on tap are very poor.

Poor hotel, room was dirty, cobwebs etc on walls, bathroom was dirty. Food was awful, mostly deep fried and overcooked. Cannot recommend this hotel nor would I stay there again

Burger was super juicy and i loved being able to customize it. Soup of the day (the day i had it it was vegetable soup) was delicious, and i was absolutely blown over by how simply nice and fulfilling the curry chicken was. The menu is varied enough to keep it entertaining for a week stay if you want, and even the selection of beers is fair!

Room was very basic needs updating!! Bar and the restaurant are the best asset here, breakfast was a buffet style affair and was very good for the money....

We stayed at the hotel and looked over the giant menu whilst checking in (great idea). Looked ok and well priced so we ate there. Resaurant was without character but what would expect at this price point. I ordered the "half a piri piri chicken" and asked for it to be hot and spicy. It came rather too quickly and was tiny, smaller than a normal chicken quarter. Must breed micro chickens just for them. The chicken was incredibly bland with not a hint of spice and served with coleslaw and a few chips. Also, no condiments anywhere. Dissapointing

Stayed overnight for a meeting. The room was ok but feels dated. Food choice is fairly limited but reasonably priced. I had Steak and Chips followed by Crumble for £13.95 on a specials offer. Steak was ok but slightly overcooked, service not so great, I asked for some English mustard but it never arrived and I had to ask again for the pudding. Beer was awful and over priced. If you fancy a drink suggest visiting a pub nearby.Breakfast was good and seemed to be freshly cooked.All in all it was ok but could easily be improved if they can be bothered

I have no complaints at all about this restaurant. The food, though not particularly exciting was freshly cooked and tasty, with reasonable prices. Given that i arrived after 8pm, it was frankly a blessing not to have to go out and look for a place.

very good food, plenty of it, cheaper than going into the city. fish and chips came with two fish, all day breakfast came with two egg, two sausage, two bacon, two toast beans and mushrooms, chips all for £6.95. wow. big bowls of curry with fresh warm naan bread and rice.

First thing to hit me when entering my (small!) double room was the horrid smell of wet festering towls. Thankfully the towels smelt fresh but the smell remained over 3 days we stayed, even with the window left the open. Bath tiny!Shower head height too low...at 5'7" I had to duck under to get my hair wet. Hose and taps leaked. No where designed to hang towels (we used the doorless wardrobe rail and shower curtain rail) and extractor fan stopped working. Rooms poorly lit, we had to put on all 3 lights and a lamp so we weren't sitting in dark. Bed comfy, sheet stained with ink(?) or other similar coloured stain. A friend in another room had a light that was sparking. When he notified staff they asked if he wanted to change rooms. He told them it was a safety hazard and it didn't matter where he was in the hotel if he burnt to death because the problem wasn't being sorted. We didn't have problems with the TV as mentioned by another reviewer.Room includes bottle opener and tiny (not very powerful) hairdryer both fixed to the wardrobe.We ordered drinks, guy took payment and disappeared leaving us at the bar. After 10-15 mins we asked another bar tender who served us. 'Restaurant' smelt of burnt meat and was full of smoke on arrival.Took over an hour for a friends food to arrive....over 20 people ordered for before him and ate theirs before his arrived. The order wasn't correct/complete so had to be sent back. They ended up giving him his meal free along with a drink and a side order. Understaffed and staff appeared not to be trained. Breakfast was very good in comparison to everything else, good quality and selection and there was never a shortage of anything.Good points: free WiFi and parking. Location made it easy to walk to Futsal for sports events.Reasonably clean.

Check-in is advertised as 2pm. We arrived at 2.30pm to be told our rooms weren't quite ready but it would not be long. We eventually got into our room at 4.20pm... we got a round of drinks for our trouble, but this still delayed us and made us late for the plans we had made.Rooms seemed to only have one plug socket, near the front door - not useful for people that want to charge their phones overnight by the bed! The shower rail seems to be designed to only allow especially short people to shower comfortably. TV seemed to only allow you to watch one channel...Plus points - free wifi and parking, handy location not too far from city centre, breakfast wasn't bad though a bit pricey.

Once again poor range of food for lunch, the vegetables were disguised in fried spring rolls- mc Donald's are healthier!

Not sure what the remit was but for Drs and nurses attending a diabetes course the food was appalling. It hadn't seen a piece of vegetation at all, content was all carbohydrate and protein and a high proportion was fried, very disappointing.
