Visited early Saturday morning for breakfast. Restaurant was quiet but food was freshly cooked and the service we received from Jess was excellent and made our breakfast experience very pleasant.

Great place to hang out with good company, enjoying wonderful food and drinks in an informal atmosphere. Fantastic offers are available all day every day. 😀

I have been coming sometimes twice a week for two months Midweek told kitchen shutting 9.00 pm Tonight despite so many emails encouraging attendance 8.20 no walk in service But can book two later tables on phone from car park . Apparently they would ring to say not available but nobody rang weird.

We went on a Tuesday when they do the six courses for £27. I had the beetroot tortellini appetizer which was just one large tortellini but tasty and unusual. The entrée was asparagus - ok, not my favourite. Lamb was cooked as I had asked and was a lovely dish. The pork from the normal menu was also very good and very tender. The chocolate puddings was dark and rich. The coffee even darker. A very pleasant meal for two (one six courses and one two courses) came to £50. Service was spot on. The waits were fine. The restaurant was half filled with a good atmosphere.

A group of four, we came to Bistrot Pierre having walked out of a nearby restaurant where the service was diabolical. We couldn't have asked for a greater contrast. The staff were very welcoming, attentive (without being over fussy) and professional, the service excellent and the food outstanding. So, after a disappointing start elsewhere, we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. My only slightly negative comment would be that there were very few diners that evening, so the restaurant perhaps lacked a bit of atmosphere, and I hope it is normally much busier as it certainly deserves to be.

There were no other diners in the restaurant when we arrived. A couple arrived after us and had eaten a two course meal and left before our food arrived. Apparently, it was because the chicken took so long to cook. You'd think on a Sunday they may have anticipated some demand for chicken and had a bird or two prepared in advance. My partner and I had the veggie option, which was a butternut squash wellington. Despite specifically asking for regular gravy, we were served the vegan gravy, which was an unusual shade of pink and rather unpleasant. My partner asked for the vegan gravy to be removed from her plate, and when her plate was returned there were fewer vegetables and no greens. It looked like a child's meal. This backwards and forwards with the gravy meant that by the time my partner was happy with her meal, my Dad and I had nearly finished. I would have expected some kind of explanantion regarding the long wait for chicken but none was forthcoming. We'd long finished the first round of drinks and only obtained further refreshment after I flagged down the waiter at long range. When I queried the long wait for food, by way of explanation, the waiter said,"If you're not happy, you can leave us a negative review." I think he thought that would make me feel better. But it hasn't.

My friend and I had a meal on Friday afternoon at your restaurant the food was good and the service was very good. Our waiter Alex was excellent nothing was to much trouble all in all we had a very pleasant afternoon.

Where do I begin? Firstly parking - the restaurant has no official parking, and nearby parking is ANPR 3 hr parking, which you would think would be enough, but later on found out it wasn't. Drinks- asked for a guiness on draft, only to be told not working, only lager on tap, anything else in bottles! Next payment in cash told me yes but has no change??, obviously don't carry a float. Table of 8 for a special birthday booked. Only 3 other small tables in, but over an hr before starter arrived. We were splitting the bills and told service staff several times whilst ordering that this was happening. Food was average a best, the baked camenbert had been microwaved or over cooked as was very runny, the Diane sauce with the chicken tasted of curry, and having to wait 10 minutes for bread that had been accidentally dropped by server. By the time we had had our 3 course meal, the 3 hr time limit was near, so we had to move cars to another location, which was a joke. The worst was yet to come, as the bill arrived and all meals had been added to one. We mentioned this, that we had asked for separate bills, but due to it already being done, and that deposits taken before meal, it took a further 30 minutes to get manager to re print bill, still with one total, as couldn't split the table as asked for at start of meal. This was a terrible end to a special occasion, and will not go back again!!

Ignored when entering. Left waiting at table for 15 minutes. Staff rude. When asked if I was to be served the manageress was aggressive in her tone and body language.

Beef Bourgogne,No honey roasted carrots 🙈, had a triangle of pastry in stead. Spent £400 for 6 dinners. Disappointed, had lovely meals several times previously. Must have been an inexperienced chief. Will go again but not in the near future. Sorry 😣. John G

• No one came to ask what we wanted to drink • When asked which lagers were available the waitress listed every drink on the menu. • Two drinks we asked for were not available. • Waited 45 mins for first course. • The meal was poor quality, no seasoning or flavour and was luke warm. Disgraceful. • Gave us someone else’s bill. • Replaced it with a bill that was part ours part someone else’s, putting the deposit someone else had paid on to ours. I should have kept it. • Delayed by half an hour sorting the bill, made me late for the car park. • Added 20% VAT to the total • Without asking added 10% service charge. • ‘Challenged’ me to remove the service charge. • Poorly trained and overstretched staff.

A very poor experience. Not sure what was going on today. No Manager on site. Waitress didn't appear to be able to take order confidently. Waited for 2hours 15 mins to get mains. Paid deposit in advance online with reservation and advised it was father in laws 90th birthday celebration. Zero acknowledgement of that. The staff did apologise at end, but this entire disaster was a management failure. No Manager. No one taking responsibility. Correct response should have been to check in and update us as to the issue regularly and at the end take the drinks or 50% off the bill ( or both!). The service charge was initially included. I mean with the best will in the world, we couldn't justify including it. The staff shouldn't have to suffer because of no management on site.

0 out of 5 Terrible does not even fit the description for this review Took over 30 minuets after ordering for starts to be brought out, I wouldn’t mind but these were simple dishes I.e hummus and bread The meals then came out not long after, however none of the meals came out at the same time and the Children’s food came out last 2 for 1 cocktails; these were ordered at 18:50 and because the server didn’t get too the till until after 19:00 the offer was void and this was not honour by the manager. Overall the Service extremely slow and really. The only person at that restaurant who truely cares about the service and its customers was a young lad called Alex.

We had booked a table for 6 people on a Sunday evening (bank holiday weekend) and I phoned up in advance to check that the restaurant would be open. We arrived at 7 pm and were not allowed to order either a pudding or coffee at the end of the meal. I ordered a medium rare rump steak which, went it arrived, was both overcooked and underweight. This was a really disappointing and expensive evening!

Had booked a table. Was in the taxi on the way to the restaurant and then received an email from Bistro Pierre to say 'as per your request, we've cancelled your reservation'. Really disappointing considering we had it booked, nor had we cancelled.

Lovely, bright and welcoming atmosphere. Jess and Kai our servers were amazing and sensing our personalities they were really fun and having a laugh with us. This alone made the experience more wonderful. I pointed out to Jess my numerous allergies and how I had been treated by restaurants before because if this. She was so lovely and made sure my food and drinks were OK and I knew what was on the menu that I could have. Give these two employees a pay rise! We were a party of 16 and accommodated really well and encouraged to take advantage of the 2 for £12 cocktails before the offer ended. Drinks and card machines were brought over to us so we didn't need to leave the table and there wasn't any problem with us all paying separately either, which has been a problem at other places.

We dined at Bistrot Pierre, its a fantastic restaurant with impeccable cleanliness and cozy ambiance. Our order included chicken escalopes and pan fried salmon fillets, both of which were delectably flavorful. The presentation of each dish was exquisite, and the flavors were simply irresistible. We thoroughly enjoyed the culinary experience. The service was also commendable and greatly appreciated.

The waitress had no personality really didn't interact very empty understand why after the food I had the chichen coq au Reisling as did my my friend chicken over cooked very dry food luckwarm told the waitress she said she would pass our comments on wish we had gone to wetherspoons food looked far fresher so disappointed I really dont go out much but wont be going back any time soon

We come here most weeks as very good value for money and staff very friendly and Norbert always ensures we have good service, always with a smile.

I have eaten here many times and the Food, atmosphere and service are exceptional at a very reasonable cost. The Polish Waiter "Norbert" has amazing humour, as well as a detailed knowledge of the menu. These people deserve good customers and I shall continue to oblige!

Had booked here for an afternoon tea with a friend I hadn’t seen for a while. Unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. The sandwiches and cakes were dry and tasteless. Considering there were hardly any people in the restaurant the service was slow. Can’t say I’ll be back for afternoon tea again. It’s a pity because Mere Green really need decent restaurants.

Booked mothers day breakfast. Cold eggs benedict - I was then sick that evening. I will not be returning. Ruined mothers day.

This was not our first time here and we have always enjoyed it. Unfortunately we went for Mother's Day it took over an Hour for our main course to come, when we mentioned it we were told its on its way but at no point before we asked were we told it would be delayed. Then when it did arrive my son had the fish and there was a piece of plastic in it! We did inform and the bill was reduced. The service was awful by the female waitress, then we had a lovely young man called Yusef who was very attentive towards us.

Great food but sadly the wait for the starters was too long. The service was generally slow with limited checks on us, some of the waitresses didn’t know what the wines were when we were asking and one never came. Although, Jess was great and was very friendly.

Two of us went for lunch on a quiet Wednesday. The restaurant is roomy, the decor modern and welcoming, and the food acceptable. We ordered from the lunch menu - 2 courses for £18.95. For starters, calamari was crisp, the mushrooms were enjoyable, although the sauce was a little over thickened. Main courses were Chicken Diane - tasty, but again, the sauce was a little gloopy, and Fishcake, which was well executed. although the beurre blanc was split. Service was good, and on balance, we will return.

We were pleasantly surprised with this place as we had heard mixed reviews about it, but the food and service were both very good. All of us really enjoyed it and would definitely go again.

We love it here. The food is fantastic, the service friendly and attentive and the prices are very reasonable. Last Friday 16th Feb we had another great meal. A late Valentines date treat, one of us had three courses and a soft drink, the other (me!), had two courses, a glass of lovely red wine, and a fantastic dessert cocktail, all of which came to £88.00 (inc 10% gratuity), which I think is really good. Plus we had a free bread board with our Pierre Bistrot points.

Me and my husband visited for a belated valentines meal, the food was wonderful and the there was a warm atmosphere. Our server Millie was very accommodating from the very start, and delivered very good service. Drinks and food arrived quickly and was at a high standard, would recommend 10/10.

We enjoyed a very nice meal Tuesday afternoon with a shared chicken liver parfait for a starter, then two mains which were the fishcakes, then ice cream and a sticky toffee pudding. We had a bottle of the red cuvee 94 wine which was on promotion for February and free. The service was excellent and with a reduction with the Rewards card the price was £32.00. Regards Gary

Went today with the wife to Bistro Pierre, Mere Green, around 1pm. This is a spacious and warm restaurant. The waitress was very efficient and showed us to our table almost immediately.She took our order and showed my wife how to download and use the app which had special offers. The ambience was very relaxing, and the customers all seemed to be enjoying themselves. A friendly and warm atmosphere. We had a starter and main course on the set menu. The food was hot,well cooked,tasty and fresh,a generous amount,and arrived promply. Great! Just what we wanted on a cold day. We left well satisfied and happy. We will be back again. Thanks.

The waitresses were amazing. We waited for over thirty minutes for a drink. The manager, a lady with lots of tattoos, and long brown hair, snapped at my mother when she politely stated we had been waiting. Not even an apology. I can honestly say it was very disappointing as enjoyed the food. The service was slow in some areas. However, I am sure the management team is there to uphold the reputation of the organisation. We will not be returning to this restaurant and are extremely disappointed with the way we were treated by the management team. We noticed that there was no one in the bar area, except there must be a shift change but this did not warrant the response.

Terrible for gluten and dairy intolerance. No understanding of dairy intolerance, no flexibility. Staff don't know what dishes contain dairy. Very bad. Never met such ignorance in any pub or restaurant. And cashless! Pathetic! My husband had brought cash and had to depend on the friends we were with. Will NEVER eat here again! Next morning 4 episodes of diarrhoea, the type I recognise as linked with dairy intake. Horrible.

Highly recommend this restaurant which has been transformed since new management and staff led by the Manager, Norbert (if he's not already the Manager, he should be!) - food is great, really well presented and high quality. The £10 menu that is frequently offered is amazing value, but even when not on, food is excellent and well-priced.

We came here at 5 o'clock and it was the perfect time for us. Lovely and quiet. It got busier as it got later, but not overcrowded. We used the £10 (mains) menu, an absolute bargain. Food was delicious, we all loved it (also the berry mocktail - fabulous). Staff are really helpful and polite especially the guy who brought out the birthday cake to my friend and me. Totally loved the overall experience and I'll definitely be coming here again

Went to Bistro Pierre early Friday night,not been here before. Fairly quiet. Chose the £10+£3.50 menu,fantastic choice even for a set menu. Calamari one of the best, Fricassee,Tagine beautiful,pork medallions perfectly cooked and presented. Service was good not pestered and there when you needed anything. Only minor comments,sat facing other guests with a mirror behind that reflected traffic outside,bit of a distraction,but minor. The only other thing I would recommend is stick to bottled beer or perhaps a larger,love cask ales and the first Camden had to be sent back "Flat". Other than that food perfect,good value, piping hot and staff good. Definitely looking forward to next visit. Liked the Vibe here.

I can’t explain how disappointing I was attending this venue on Christmas Day, restraunt was chaotic service was utter shocking the food was uneatable. Every one who worked there seemed to lack in experience and no clue on what to do. The whole day was ruined, this place needs to be moved out of mere green. Shocking! Don’t ever go

We were a party of eight for a Christmas day lunch. One of our group had done the organising and through her I had initially ordered my steak as rare, but then jokingly qualified it to 'rare on the side of lightly bleeding'. Well blow me down, prepared by Vik the chef, this was melt in the mouth superb, not bleu, not just simply rare, but exactly rare on the side of lightly bleeding. Never met you but thank you Vik, you made my day. Service was not rushed and can be described as attentive but relaxed, yet I could see that the major domo's were on top of everything. Other parts of my meal were as expected, sourdough baguettes with various butters, de-pitted olives on the side and a great little bite-sized chorizo sausage - all good, Melted brie with cranberry and raisin toast and a superb smooth relish that tasted sublime... Black Forest Yule log for desert. I will be back for more.

After travelling from North Devon to Sutton to spend Christmas Day with family and dinner at Bistrot Pierre. We had a reservation for 1pm for 12 people this was moved by the restaurant to 4.30. We arrived at our reserved time and there were so many people waiting to be seated it was ridiculous. It appeared our table would be ready when the people sitting had finished. This is obviously a case of overbooking and pure greed. Thank you for ruining our Christmas Day. We left after waiting for nearly an hour with no food and a reluctance to refund our deposit. Shame on you Bistrot Pierre you should be ashamed of your obvious greed on what was supposed to be a wonderful family treat.

Really enjoyable lunch today. We had excellent, friendly service from Rohit. He couldn’t have been more helpful in sorting out our menu requirements.

I was in Sunday night served & greeted by Samantha and I’ve never spent a better evening anywhere else. The service was remarkable the welcome we had was friendly & she made us feel very comfortable. The food was lovely. Not a bad word too say we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be back again. Highly recommended

Absolutely brilliant, I come in with my husband this evening and I must say we both enjoyed ourselfs, the food was amazing but our waitress Samantha was an absolute star. She’s very helpful and so polite, she’s a credit to your team. Always had a smile on her face. Thank you Samantha for making us so welcome .

It was a pure fluke we came across this restaurant. I'm so glad we did! The menu choices (food and prices) were amazing and the service was impeccable (big shout out to Jess). We both had the three courses for £20.95 and it was was worth every penny and more. I won't need to eat for the rest of the day. I've already booked two returns, I'm that keen to try something else on the menu.

Great night, good service, good food although portions could be bigger. Re looked at receipt this morning however, to find a £20 surcharge had been automatically put on our bill. £20 for what?? To bring food to our table?? Which is your job? Noticed on the receipt after the event that you can ask for it to be taken off, but no one makes you aware of that at the time. Few drinks and you just pay the bill. We will be certainly asking for that money to be taken off next time as it’s a bit naughty to put it lightly. Left a bad taste in the mouth after a nice night.

This event was attended by my wife. The evening was meant to be special, but was spoilt by the experience there. I pre-ordered my meal 3 or 4 weeks in advance and after arrival, they stated it was unavailable. The meal I had was indifferent. There were 17 of us and they had only laid the table for 16. The service was acceptable, however, the owner was most rude. Our husbands/partners were collecting us before 11pm, after their own event elsewhere. The management tried to make us leave at 10.30pm on a cold wet night. The restaurant knew our intentions when the booking was made.

Disappointed as would have preferred crepes. Had 2 croissants they were the smallest I have ever seen . Had to ask for butter and jam. My husband had set menu. It wasc£12.95 although says 9.95 on web site.can only say I understand why restaurant empty at 10.00 on a Saturday.

We were greeted and seated quickly, the restaurant was cosy and warm, our orders were taken promptly as one member had to return to work. We ordered fish cakes, chicken dish and vegetarian option-all were generous in portion and tasty. The waiter Rohit was super friendly, lovely smile and looked after us really well. The manager on duty too provided great service and it was a lovely lunch. Thank you!

Excellent service, very nice food.

Visited for the Sunday roast lunch. We both had the roast sirloin, cooked pink. Excellent meal both meat and vegetables were great. As we have the App this cost £40 with a bottle of house rose included. Our waiter, Rohit, was also very good. He was attentive and helpful. We finished with a shared cheese board. Nothing else to say except to repeat how good the whole experience was. Dated 15/10/23.

Service was slow..and food was average.

First visit in a long time to a place I frequented regularly……. And last Portion size has been reduced to the point where questions have to be asked . The previously good sliced baguette and French butter is no more , a victim of savage cost cutting . French onion soup was served in a small bowl containing maybe half a ladle of tepid brown liquid. No cheese crouton oozing after being placed under the grill , but instead a piece of stale sourdough “ bread” sliced so thinly by machine that it looked like Melba toast . Main course boeuf bourginon was 1/2 the size of previous examples , served on the same plate now as some strange mashed potato A once decent bistro ruined by savage cost cutting. I suspect it won’t be around for long

We visited the Mere Green restaurant for lunch and it was our first time trying Bistrot Pierre. We didn't know what to expect after reading some of the reviews. We decided to try it and make our own minds up and so pleased we did! We had the set menu, 2 courses for £17.95 and opted for a main course and dessert. When the mains came out, we were impressed with the size considering it was the set menu. The boeuf bourguignon with potato was lovely. The chicken chasseur, the same. For dessert we had creme brulee and chocolate pot. Again, the portions were huge, so much so,I couldn't finish the chocolate pot(which is unusual for me where desserts are concerned!) All in all, a fantastic meal, great customer service and a comfortable, spotless restaurant. We will definitely be returning very soon. I don't understand the negative reviews on here from a few months ago because we couldn't fault our experience. The only thing I would say is the staff were run off their feet as there seemed to only be two of them serving. Not a problem on a fairly quiet lunchtime/afternoon but maybe on an evening it would make a difference to the time people would be served. That's the only negative thing (if you can call it that) I can say really.

Came here for lunch and we enjoyed the 3 course meal for £21. Tasted superb and represented exceptional value. Ordered the mushroom soup, calamari, beef beef bourguignon, toffee pudding and chocolate mousse The soup was served warm rather than hot, but still enjoyable. We were too hungry to send it back, just a minor thing, calamari was good and flavoursome The beef bourguignone was very tasty, with little onions s, bacon and mushroom, carrots and mashed potato. We asked for extra gravy as it was so good! Presentation was great, plates were very hot, service very good. My first experience of eating at this French chain and was very impressed. Desserts were good portions and delicious, toffee pudding was hot and came with lots of sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Very good overall, airy spacious interiors, nice layout and great service. Look forward to visiting again!

Meal last night was fantastic. Steaks all cooked to perfection and presentation of food good. Apparently new chef Alex who was excellent food all piping hot and came out promptly. Service from new assistant manager also first rate and very welcoming and quick with taking orders and bringing drinks to table. It was my birthday and we were there as a family and he made the occasion enjoyable and memorable as did our waitress. Thankyou to all the team.

Me and my girlfriend decide to there to celebrate our anniversary. We have given nice rud table next to the window. We've been served by nice tall French guy. The food was lovely from starters to desserts. We will be back for sure.

If, like me, you haven't been here for a couple of years following miserable experiences both with food and staff attitude, be prepared to be surprised! This restaurant has improved beyond measure. New management? I have been several times now mid-week and each time food has been consistently excellent. The staff are now professional and attentive. Mere Green branch has become a new favourite place to go!
