Faultless. The best experience we’ve had for a very long time at any restaurant. The service was impeccable from Riccardo Martorelli, despite being a busy Friday night. His knowledge of the menu was as good as his recommendations. Everything was perfectly cooked, presented & delivered to our table. The Chateaubriand was perfect. Excellent wine recommendations from Marco, who matched our meal choices perfectly. Highly recommended for food, drink & service but an absolute must visit when the view of the city is added to the mix.

Booking Confusion: I made a reservation through The Fork and received a confirmation email. However, I later received an SMS requesting a deposit, which directed me to a link on a different app, OpenTable. This was confusing and inconvenient, as I was not informed that a deposit would be required, nor was I aware that I would need to use a different platform. Promotion Menu Issue: Upon arrival, I informed both the receptionist and the waiter that I had booked through The Fork, and they acknowledged my booking. Despite this, I was not initially provided with the promotional menu. When I asked for it, I felt uncomfortable due to the unwelcoming and dismissive attitude of the staff. Menu Pricing Discrepancy: I eventually received the Fork promotion menu. In the fork app which clearly stated that the 2-course meal was priced at £29, and the 3-course meal at £35, both including a drink (wine). I ordered the 2-course menu and showed it to the waiter, who confirmed that the drink would be included. However, when the bill arrived, I was informed that the drink was only complimentary with the 3-course meal, and I was charged £17 for the two glasses of wine. This information was not communicated to me when I placed my order, which forced me to feel compelled to order an additional course. Booking Cancellation: After paying and finishing my meal, I discovered that my booking through The Fork had been canceled. This is particularly frustrating, as it has impacted my ability to leave a review or receive any associated benefits from booking through The Fork.

Small portions, great views not great value for money. 12.5% service charge added to everything.

My partner brought me here for birthday drinks and it was honestly breathtaking. The view of Birmingham was really good, and the bar is very simple as to not distract from the view. The drinks were amazing and very unique not your regular set of cocktails. They were presented beautifully and tasted great. When we were here there was a live violinist. Overall the experience was very high end and I enjoyed coming here. Would recommend and would return.

Orelle! The views are spectacular! The space is grand, and fellow diners were dressed to match. The food is as good as you would expect. However, the service and organisation is patchy. Drinks served in the wrong order, randomly long waits, confusion about where to wait on arrival (downstairs? Upstairs? Here's a cocktail menu, but the cocktails are different in different places...) and for how long. It felt like a newly opened restaurant or pop up, but concerning when it's neither.

Fantastic food and atmosphere. Michala and the rest of the staff were perfect. While the dessert we got was great, it would be better if there were more halal options for dessert!

I booked a table for 2 during lunch and I was told I had to place the order as soon as... so we rushed and placed the order from the set course meal, we went straight for the mains then had desserts. Our mains got served over an hour from ordering, waiters ignored us amd when the food did come, my chicken main course was dry, I opted out for the jus as it had red wine but I was given no alternative and was stuck with a dry dish, it was a good thing I had a large bottle of sparkling water, even then I couldn't finish it. The two sides we ordered actually tasted fresh and made to order. The tofu dessert was very sticky and not nice to eat. I must say the presentation was good but the taste was way below par. Maybe I'm being too picky, but I expected more at a high end restaurants, especially when you take a date with you. However Deco was amazing and so was the view but lunch time was very disappointing.

You pay for the view. Period. Food was not up to scratch and over priced for the quality and the small quantities. More focused on aesthetics than a flavour experience. Was disappointed. Service very good. Food needs major improvement. Route to toilets so dark it's borderline dangerous.

First time eating at the rooftop restaurant and it didn't disappoint! Came for lunch with 2 friends, we ate off the set menu which I thought was great value and every course for me was perfect! Really great service, the waiting staff were very friendly and helpful and the setting is wonderful - I can imagine at night it would be spectacular. Can't wait to go back!

Good service and good atmosphere but the food was a let down

8 piece tasting menu. Every dish tasted so delicious and looked like a work of art. Service was the best ever.

We visited on the 26th July for lunch. The Prix Fixe Lunch menu was great value for money. Food was very tasty and restaurant was very nice. These are the dishes we ordered: • Betterave - Heritage Beets Tartare, Parmesan smoked almonds, preserved lemon ⭐ • Tartare - Longhorn beef tartare, marmite egg yolk jam, shimeji, parmesan tuile • Daurade - Pan seared Sea Bream, fennel, apple tapioca, lemon beurre blanc • Porc - Beetroot brined Pork, celeriac, black pudding, spelt, chicory • Framboise • Tiramisu ⭐ The tiramisu dessert was our favourite dish. But all food was great, will be back again soon. Meal was beautifully accompanied by a bottle of Nyetimber, very nice sparkling wine.

Ordered 2 steaks both over cooked and over priced. Not once was we asked if our meals were ok This place must honestly survive on the view only which let’s be honest is looking over Birmingham not New York. I cook better at home, seriously not worth the money.

ORELLE exceeded my expectations. Very tastefully decorated, such elegant simplicity on the top floor, as if from France. I was charmed by the tables situated between the trees with a beautiful view of Birmingham city at night. In addition, perfect cleanliness, exemplary equipment in the bar area, including your favorite alcohols from choice to color. All guests and hosts are polite and helpful, with a positive attitude towards solo travelers. Quiet, comfortable, countryside in the best style - I recommend it to those who feel a similar atmosphere and also beautiful live music played by a squeaky instrument 🎻 What a wonderful evening 🙌🌃🎻🫶

It is online that it closes at 11pm and you can’t book a table just for drinks, only walk in. Got there at 9:01pm only to be turned away even though we told her it would just be for drinks. That seems extremely early to turn people away especially because nowhere is that mentioned.

The restaurant has a perfect service, lovely staff and the ambience is high point. The food is not extraordinary, execution and in terms of creativity. But I highly recommend for special occasions.

Popped in to Orelle for cocktails to look at for a future night out, had Asian guy making obscene gestures to my wife and daughters, security spoke to him but it continued, won’t be making that future visit.

The setting itself is beautiful and view is amazing. It feels like a very special place. The food was delicious and very nicely presented. The service was very good apart from because for many of the staff English is not their first language we had issues when we asked the waitress about the cocktail event. After asking and trying to explain several times we gave up. The only other negative was the lack of gluten free options. On the set menu I could have 2 out of the 4 options for main and only one dessert. I’m sure there could’ve been alternatives suggested but instead parts of the meal were simply missing. For example the sea bream came without mash but nothing in its place and I was not advised about this. The staff did not seem very knowledgeable about gluten free and what did and didn’t include gluten. I would’ve expected much more from a high quality place like this in terms of allergy awareness. Having said that I really enjoyed the meal and it felt like a real treat. Just please look at the allergy alternatives and then it would be perfect!

Giving this place 4 stars because the service and atmosphere was amazing! I was awaiting visiting Orelle for 3 years since the announcement that it was opening! I must say in terms of decor, style and views, this is easily the most aesthetic restaurant in Birmingham! Really does give London/Manchester vibes😍 stunning I have visited the downstairs café a number of times as well as the fine dining rooftop restaurant. The service has always been very friendly, accomodating and the breakfast/brunch in the café was excellent. One main point for me was the lack of variety on the menu, both upstairs and downstairs specifically for those who eat Halal or vegan/Veg. As I am pescatarian, I ordered the fish dishes but felt the taste was not quite up to scratch, particularly for the price point. Also, a real disappointment for me was that the desserts also contained pork gelatine, which our waitress had kindly pointed out to us. This is a real shame as they looked divine and I really wanted to try them! I really encourage management and the kitchen to look into halal options further as many other fine dining restaurants in Birmingham offer a service where you can order 24/48hrs in advance. This would really have enhanced our experience and made it more enjoyable! Overall a great dining experience but a menu which needs tweaking slightly to accommodate more dietary requirements Thankyou😊 Updated June 2024: Orelle have unfortunately not taken on board any of the feedback I gave them in 2022 and have continued to have a very limited menu for pescatarian/vegetarian diets. We were told upon reservation that we would have a halal meat option on the Prix Fix menu but when we got there, were offered a completely overpriced whole chicken to share between two people which wasn’t what we asked for. The restaurant manager Riccardo was extremely friendly and gave us complimentary desserts and coffee which was a really kind gesture for the inconvenience that had happened regarding our booking. However, the sea bream dish we then had to have was very salty and not nice. On top of this all the desserts practically contain pork gelatine so we were limited to only one dessert. This was disappointing and just showed they aren’t willing to cater to a broad range of dietary requirements- when every other restaurant in Birmingham has so it was sad to see and unfortunately won’t be returning.

A real jewel in the crown of Birminghams food scene. The whole experience from start to finish was thoroughly enjoyable. Attentive staff, great atmosphere, food was amazing, especially that mackerel starter wow! It was our anniversary dinner and was made to feel very welcome - will definitely be coming back in the not too distant future! 10/10 guys 👏👏

Yesterday, my wife and I really enjoyed the whole experience from when we entered to when we left. We especially love the service provided by one of the staff members Maya, she was professional, attentive, helpful and made the experience even better.

We hired the private dinning room for a special occasion and Orelle didn’t disappoint! The views from the restaurant are incredible! The floor to ceiling windows are very impressive and help you take in all the sights. The staff are amazing! We were made to feel very special. They went over and above to look after us and make sure we had the best evening. The food was excellent and reasonably priced for a high end restaurant. The restaurant had a large event the same night and the kitchen didn’t make a single error and the food was cooked to perfection, well done! I would not hesitate to recommend and would go back!

Amazing 4-course tasting experience! Professional service and scrumptious food. The view was mesmerising at the top and I felt like I was having dinner in the clouds. Would definitely recommend!

Good food, good service, great view.

I had lunch here with a group of ex work colleagues, we take it in turns to choose resturants, near where we live, 4 times a year. We had the set menu 2 courses. I had salmon followed by pork. We shared three sides dishes of mash, fries and veg, and had two glasses of house wine. Sadly the service was so slow we did not have enough time for any third course or coffees. The view from the restaurant on 25th floor is amazing, just be aware the toilets are on the 24th floor, you can walk down the stairs or call the lift to take you down a floor.

Brilliant overall. A little scary if you're not good with heights (as I'm not) but you get used to it very quickly and the staff were really friendly. Top notch service all round!! Cocktails were delicious. Decor lovely. Will definitely go again. I went with a mate, but would imagine it makes a great date. Would also love to go on Bonfire Night!

Went to the Simpsons / Orelle taster menu on 30th April. It was lovely but the second course that was given to me was a sourdough bread. I'd eaten half of it when I discovered a huge and I mean huge black hair baked into the bottom of the bread. I did show the waitress and had an apology but it meant every other course that then came out I scrutinised for foreign objects. This really spoilt a nice evening and a very, very expensive meal my husband had treated me to. Still makes me feel queezy thinking about it now.

Best views in the city! Excellent decor, service is good. Prices in line with the view and interior. Have visited the bar on several occasions and the restaurant once.

Amazing location, the views of Birmingham were surprisingly captivating. We were in the bar area which was lovely. The restaurant looked a bit busy and noisy with chatter. I thought the atmosphere would have benefited from some live music. Cocktails were delicious.

Was here for my wife's birthday for lunch not a great view in the day and vegetarian options are limited for her. Attempted to book a second reservation for an evening booking for business and was told a week before it has been block booked. Not great given these events normally take alot of planning and diary fixing. The Orelles team resolutuon was that they can offer another reservation at an additional restaurant, something which I can do myself. Crazy! Will not be going anywhere near here again...

Lovely experience, booked a table for the prie fix menu however portions were small and would have liked more vegetarian options, service was more than excellent, will definitely be coming back 😀 also no parking had to catch a taxi.

This is a fantastic restaurant with superb service on site. Delicious food, cocktails and amazing views across Birmingham & The West Midlands I'm knocking one star off. However, because online booking was not as smooth as it ought to have been. I'd initially booked via Google, which redirected me to "The Fork" to make my booking and secure it with my card details. Because Orelle uses Open Table, I then received several SMS messages pestering me to secure my booking with my card details again. It was very disconcerting to be receiving SMS messages asking for credit card details from an app that - as far as I'm concerned - had no connection with my booking whatsoever.

Beautiful location, with great service, excellent spot for a celebration. They offer halal beef and chicken for their Sunday roast, however use pork gelatine in most of their desserts, leaving only the vegan tofu option for anyway with halal dietary requirements. Not sure why they don’t use fish gelatine like most places now. Would have been 5 stars from me if they had more dessert offerings.

Yeah really liked it here. I found Orelle relaxed but had high standards. The place is punching above its weight .The service was superb, very attentive but not too much. My Wife and I had the Prix Fixe menu . 3 Course, wine flight to match and a bottle of water for £128.00 (Inc service charge) Bargain! If you don’t want to pay Michelin star prices, then take the time to visit here. Add to that the location 24 floors up, then it’s a great place to enjoy some time out. Well done all, I’ll be back! Visited tonight for drinks really enjoyable time, chilled atmos, live singer and the cocktails were very well made 👌🏽 the staff were top notch including doorstaff very polite on entry. Looking forward to next visit.

Orelle is a really nice restaurant with an amazing view of Birmingham from the 24th floor. The ambience, food and service are good. French cuisine and small portions The only pitfall for me was when I visited, the fire alarm went off and I was surprised to hear that a modern building had no evacuation lifts. We were expected to run down 24 floors in heels. In the end, it turned out that the fire alarm was false due to some smoke from the kitchen

Located at the 24th floor of 103 Colmore Row, this restaurant has an automatic panoramic view of Birmingham and the surrounding areas . Food and service were exemplary with just the right amount of attention. Good wine choice.

By Far, Orelle has probably one of the best panoramic views of Birmingham City I've seen! If you're visiting Birmingham, this restaurant restaurant is must!

Last night we celebrated a family event at Orelle, and it was fantastic. The service was top-notch, the food—the five course tasting menu—was delicious, and the Birmingham city views from the 24th floor were spectacular. It was a memorable evening with the perfect blend of ambiance and flavors. Highly recommend Orelle for any special occasion!

Overall I would not recommend this restaurant. The service was disappointing with the waiter reaching over the table the order instead of moving to each person. Food was fine though a little overpriced. Even though they had been informed that we were celebrating a 21st birthday nothing had been prepared. It took almost an hour before the waiters took our drinks order and then only after we eventually got someone's attention. The kitchen was overwhelmed and unable to cope with the orders in a timely fashion. Acoustics in the restaurant is very bad and should be addressed.

What can I say? Stunning views, stunning food, stunning service. The restaurant is set on the 24th floor and you have the beautiful Birmingham skyline to look out on whilst being treated to such gastronomic delights. Fresh, beautifully prepared dishes that were simply divine. The staff were wonderfully attentive without being intrusive. Absolute winner for me and I can't wait to go again.

Situated on the 24th floor, views were stunning as you can see an almost 360 degree view of the city. The restaurant had a sleek and comfortable design. However, they are the only good things I can say about the restaurant. Service was inattentive, poor and appalling for any restaurant, let alone for a "fine dining" establishment. When my party was escorted to our table, we expected to be served almost immediately (drinks). However, it took some 10-15 mins till my friend had to ask for drinks. Other groups (white business folks) who arrived later than us were served automatically. Throughout the whole lunch, there were many times where I couldn't get the servers. When my friend raised his hand, a server who we thought was going to our table instead went to the next table beside us and asked about their food. My friend was taken aback. I sincerely hope it wasn't a matter of race and discrimination and it was simply a slight mishap, accident. The food was well, sub-standard. The execution fell below expectations. The salmon (starter) looked refreshing and modern. However, the sweet sauce almost cheapens the entire dish. The pork dish (mains) was seasoned well but it was cooked unevenly; one side was almost medium well, the middle was medium and the other end was medium rare. When asked about the pork, I told the server that it was unevenly cooked and received a rather unfriendly and insincere reply and was told that "the pork is supposed to be cooked like that. He seemed to have completely ignored the part where the pork was cooked to 3 different temperatures! Lastly, the tiramisu was mid. I'd give 6/10. I've had much more delicious tiramisus at delis like Cody's. For the set lunch, the wine pairing selection was below average. I do not mind paying more for a better selection of wines as they weren't interesting and were lacking in complimenting the intended sophistication of the food. I don't think I'll ever return again. It's such a shame a restaurant can't perform and match its food with the views and decor. I had hoped to try the tasting menu. However, if the lunch couldn't be executed right, might as well give it a miss.

2 lunchtime visits have both been great experiences, with excellent value for the 2 and 3 course meals and even better value for the wine pairing. Lovely views and decor make this a fun, pseudo-posh experience without a hefty bill. The menu hadn’t changed from one visit to another, 4 months apart.

Unparalleled views of the city and delicious food made this a fantastic bank holiday lunch. We decided beforehand to have the three courses along with the wine pairings and I’m so glad that we did. The atmosphere was very relaxed, despite it being busy and we didn’t feel rushed. The mains were absolutely delicious the seabream with the potato purée and the pork with chicory and spelt are must tries. We will definitely be returning.

I can mirror the other reviews and confirm that the service is excellent, the setting is superb (fantastic views), but it's true, there are better places for food in Birmingham.

This is for anyone thinking to enter this restaurant. The story goes; As one does before a date, I got a rose. I went to this restaurant because of their great reviews. But upon arriving, my date sat down to change her shoes into some heels. And I got accosted by a woman shouting at both of us about picking the rose from their flower bed. We both tried to explain that A) We bought this rose and have the receipt to show. B) There are no roses on the flower bed. Despite this, we got shouted at. And felt incredibly uncomfortable. We still ate there as we were looking forward to it. But, this ruined the night, the food and the complimentary drinks. One has to think it was the skin colour of my date and I that impacted these two women to come and harass us. If anything, this passage is a word of warning to anyone that comes to this establishment. There is a slight chance you might be harassed :)

I'll start off positive..... fabulous views of Birmingham. Lovely restaurant and courteous friendly staff. The food, however, was dreadful, although nicely presented. The £48 fillet steak looked processed. Perfectly round and literally ½" thick. They had no Triple cooked chops or side of Broccoli. When questioned why they couldn't peel some potatoes and cook some, we were informed they were bought in and reheated! A side salad consisted of lettuce. Nothing else. Lettuce. When questioned, where are the tomatoes and cucumber? we were told it's a green salad! The meal for three people, 2 rounds of drinks, 3 mains, 3 sides and bread ( nice bread) was £300. I don't normally complain, but I had to as it was so disappointing. The manager, Lovely young man apologised and reduced the bill to just the drinks, £120!! Do yourselves a favour and go somewhere else.

Second visit to Orelle. Must improve before I would re-visit. Lighting poor, Sommelier and waiting staff require more experience/training, food good if not spectacular, wine list just better than average.

This is probably my sixth visit and frankly I couldn’t care less what other people have to moan about, but can only talk about my own experience. We took my baby sister for her 21st birthday who has been wanting to come to the restaurant for nearly a year, But simply couldn’t find the time. Orelle is simply 10 out of 10 knock the socks off many Michelin star restaurants that I’ve been to in B’ham. The staff are very hospitable, food was incredible and the staff incredibly friendly I just like to say a massive thank you to the whole team and very much look forward to my next visit.

Spectacular views and great food - a very special experience.

My experience of coming to Orelle for the first time was great. We only came for a drink in the bar area on a Saturday night but the atmosphere and service was great. There was a live singer/guitarist performing, setting the tone for the night with really cool renditions of RNB and Pop classics, along with a good amount of people and vibes in there. The drinks selection is great and the views are obviously unmatched in Birmingham rooftop wise.

Overall, the price/performance ratio is quite high, and the same decoration and services will definitely not be so cheap in London. The Sunday roast on Sunday shows the chef's efforts, but the ceiling of British cuisine itself is too low to be outstanding. On the contrary, the few French dishes and innovative dishes on the menu are surprising. All in all, it's okay to recommend it to Michelin, but it's a bit difficult to get one star. Maybe it would taste better if we didn't come on Sunday. The second time I came here, I was a little disappointed. The wine and appetizers were still good, but the main dishes were super salty, especially the rib eye, which had raw meat directly in the middle and was sprinkled with too much salt. It was really hard to swallow when paired with the extremely salty pepper sauce. . I even wondered if the chef drove me away on purpose.

This was a fantastic experience. I was visiting Birmingham and had a dinner booked here. The service is brilliant and the food was top class, highly recommend the duck and pair it with the wine. This restaurant alone is worth visiting Birmingham for!

Cocktails and dining room were great, food was okay, and service left a lot to be desired. The cost of the meal seems to be based on the views of the city, rather than quality of the food. It was let down by the service - drinks menu was taken away after ordering drinks, empty glasses immediately taken away without being asked if we would like another drink, no one checking up on us once food has been delivered to the table etc. That service would have been acceptable had we not been paying £40+ for a main course. Would recommend going up for a cocktail, but would suggest you’re better off spending money elsewhere in the city if you’re after a quality dining experience.

The view itself was stunning. Only the chicken was halal and had no flavour. The cod was also flavourless and bland. Wouldn’t advise going for the going if your dietary is halal. The view and atmosphere was however stunning.

This place has probably the best view for a restaurant in Birmingham. Place on the 24th floor, with high ceiling and floor to ceiling windows, you can enjoy and almost 360 view of the city. The comptemporary decoration blends perfectly with the location and the vibe is very modern New York. The service was correct but a little bit sloppy (at least during lunch) with some new people on the floor still unsure of what to do. The food was OK, nothing remarkable apart from the good value during lunch. Still, the views and the atmosphere will be more than enough to enjoy your meal here.

The most amazing experience in Birmingham. We’ve been to Michelin starred restaurants but Orelle beats them hands down on service & food. The views are great, but surpassed by the attentive staff & food. Try it, you will not be disappointed. Big shout out to Rijan 😁

Absolutelly stunning view. Very good lighting. The menue well thought over. Tartar is great and the cod too. They did not have chateaubriand which was a shame. Wines and congnacs very good.

After some issues with the booking, which were eventually sorted, we ordered the starters, beetroot tart and the mackerel, both looked beautiful but the taste was rather underwhelming. On to the main and we ordered the chateaubriand and went with the recommended medium rare. I can honestly say it was below average, couldn't cut through it and it was very chewy, a major disappointment. We decided not to risk dessert.

I came with a group of friends for their Sunday roast, the food was delicious. The staff were very welcoming & polite. Food and drinks came out promptly after our orders. Thank you.

Fantastic experience celebrating our anniversary. Cost over £200 for 2 people, but excellent customer service and surroundings. Food also very good.
