Lovely environment great food staff are wonderful. Highly recommend the salads!

This place served one of or top 3 meals across our entire 10 day trip. I had the jerk chicken wrap and my wife had a cauliflower bowl of some sort. They were phenomenal! If looking for a nice lunch in the area, don’t miss this. The sign says Biblos, so don’t pass it by accident. And if you need ideas of things to do, Lexi was very helpful! Enjoy!

We went here for lunch, two salad boxes; one vegan jerk "chicken" and one cauliflower! Both were amazing :) (and the music was fun!).

We had a wonderful birthday meal at the Calypso Kitchen! The food was incredible, the vibe was perfect - relaxed and friendly - and the staff couldn’t have been kinder. We can’t recommend Calypso Kitchen highly enough - we only wish the Tripadvisor rating went up to eleven! Thank you so much, Calypso Kitchen - we can’t wait to return!

We stopped to grab a late lunch on a very wet Sunday afternoon. Ambience seemed ok but you have to order your food by scanning a barcode on table. I thought, wow, that’s efficient, however, it took 2 of us over 15 mins to work out how it all worked as kept defaulting to Deliveroo. Someone eventually came over and told us to just put in a made up address as it will then allow you to order from menu. Which we did. Finally managed to select food we wanted but then couldn’t pay due to potential fraud alert that came up on our phones. After a frustrated 20 mins with a very hangry 14 year old we decided to leave. It would have been much quicker if someone had just served us at table. I am sure food is amazing but have scored it low due to lack of service./ difficulty in order food.

It was our first time here, unfortunately they only had a limited menu: Jerk or fried chicken wrap's, houmous, halloumi and spicy chips and more. There was mutton or dumplings etc. 😑 Some of us did not like it much as it was full of more salad than chicken. It was also expensive considering that there was 4 adults and 3 children. The location is really niche with lots of shops and restuarants to visit. Would visit the area and maybe this restaurant again.

We chanced upon this place when walking along the harbour and glad we did. At the moment they are only serving outside but there are plenty of tables and it was a really sunny day when we visited. I had the Halloumi salad box and it was one of the best I've ever had, would really recommend. There might be a lot more fancier places in Bristol, but many of them are style over substance, this is really fresh tasty food.

I was told about this place about 12 months ago and usually, I'm not a wrap fan, but I think ever since I first went I've been eating there every fortnight and it's still not getting old. I absolutely love it (currently eating it right now as typing). Great Vegan Fried Chicken, would HIGHLY recommend it, so good! Hummus tastes great too but it is a little expensive for what it is, but if you're after great taste then it's a winner. Love this place!

Very tasty, lots of fresh salad and halloumi. Quick and friendly service :) Only downside is the sauce leaks out of the bottom!

They didn't tell us they are serving wraps instead of Jamaican food when we booked. Told us we had to take an inside table although there were unreserved tables outside on the hottest day of the year. This then meant we didn't eat out that night. Absolute shambles.

I had lunch at Calypso with my husband on my birthday as it had vegan options on the menu and it’s close to his office. The place is nicely decorated and the starters of fish cakes and Bajan fritters were quite nice. Then the vegan jerk “chicken” arrived and what a let down it was! My husband’s goat curry looked seasoned and flavourful whereas my “chicken” consisted of hard, salty balls of battered and fried seitan with no spices to speak of, let alone any jerk seasoning. The sauce that came with it was a thick, black, overly salted treacle which was inedible. When I asked for a spicy sauce, I was given a mild, creamy concoction unlike the tasty range of Caribbean sauces I’ve tried before. The chips just had a bunch of coriander on top and no other seasoning. It lacked flavour and with the amount of great vegan food available these days, this seemed of very poor quality. I won’t be coming back.

I visited the calypso kitchen with my girlfriend for an evening meal. As others say it is set in a great area and we both liked the rustic look of the place. The let down came with the food. We were firstly told that a number of dishes were not available (we came at 8pm on a Saturday night). We then ordered jerk chicken (which as others have commented was flavourless) and curried goat (which had way too many bones). The waitress was efficient but not friendly. I’m not expecting overly attentive but when they won’t look at you when you are paying I think that’s too far. As I say above I’m disappointed, I really expected and wanted more.

Set in the trendy Wapping Wharf area of Bristol docks, we were hungry but didn't fancy eating in on a busy day. We stopped to read the menu and a very friendly lady said we could get a wrap quickest. I am Vegan and my son is a meat eater but we both really enjoyed the vegan chicken wrap which arrived quickly.

Wondered around the cargo restaurants for a bit looking for a good selection of gluten free food, as my friend is celiac. Nothing came close to this. We ordered the vegan sharing platter, a few items contained gluten and the waitress said they'd swap bits to make it fully GF which was great! We had falafel and hummus, plantain, sweet potatoes, corn on cob, Mac n cheese, sweet frittas, salad and fries (and flat breads just for me) and 2 glasses of wine for £29 (Wriggle offer). Great value for money, we both left feeling full. Hummus and falafel was best bit. Service was very good and attentive
