Horrible place. Racist staff who made me feel very uncomfortable.

Relaxed, casual place with all vegan food. Nice salad options. They ran out of hummus, so rosemary chips were an alternative. Friendly staff. All good.

£4.5 odd for a tiny bowl of chips :( I bought a burger and a side the portion size was very small. Chips are basically free don’t be cheap!

Cafe Kino is a nice little cafe that is perfect to hang out in when in this area.

We only wanted drinks and we had to wait a long time to be served even though the place was quiet. The staff didn’t seem interested. There are better places nearby.

A really lovely queer, vegan cafe. I came here almost weekly when I lived locally, and I always come by when I am back in town. The burgers are incredible!

Attended a gig in the basement downstairs. There were seats for the small performance which was great. It does get very hot and stuffy down there which perhaps the venue should consider doing something about. Friendly staff, positive LGBTQ friendly venue.

We had two delicious fully vegan breakfasts, and amazing coffee. The staff were really friendly, and its in a great location in the heart of Stokes Croft. Twenty years open this year, heres to twenty more. We’ll be back for the Biscoff brownies later :)

I loved everything about this cafe. The food was so lovely and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

Sat for an hour waiting for our small breakfast for two. Rather than keep us updated on the ETA they preferred to ignore us and prioritise serving drinks for others. We ended up walking out and getting a bagel a few doors down.

What a warm n welcoming lovely space. I arrived earlier than friends I was meeting and was soon talking to someone who attends regularly. The food & atmosphere was so inviting.

Fantastic cafe for vegan students ! Such a great atmosphere, service, drinks and food. The staff are always kind and lovely.

Friendly ambience and service was prompt. Ordered a tasty vegan sandwiche; olive tapenade with roasted squash and feta, a little crunch would have made it perfect (perhaps grated carrot, or slaw, or toasted pine nuts), garlic mushrooms on toast ordered looked good.

The large vegan breakfast is large and set us up for the day. Lovely food, friendly atmosphere and great community spirit. Highly recommended.

Very chilled out spot with some really great coffee. The service was a little slow, but if you're looking for a fashionable cafe to relax in, this comes recommended.

You can tell what they're trying to do here but just really miss the mark, the interior is quite run down and gloomy, service was weird like they don't actually have any customer service experience and the food just feels like it was prepared by someone who has zero chef experience, the most basic meal I would have cooked at home blind, for £11, it's fairly disappointing; canned beans, store bought bread, over seasoned tomatoes. I didn't even bother with the coffee because their attempt at steaming milk that I witnessed sounded horrendous. It's great that there are venues trying to raise money for good causes but then ripping off their customers with a sub par breakfast seems a little cheeky. I ended up having a second breakfast and a good coffee down the road somewhere else coz I was so disappointed.

Sipping on this matcha latte is like being transported to Japan! a perfectly balanced sweetness!

After waiting a long time to get served (the person serving was also constantly taking drinks to the tables) I ordered a toasted ciabatta. Big mistake. I should have just had it cold because 15 minutes later I asked if my ciabatta was ready and it was brought to me but the bread was warm and the filling cold. I wished I wasn’t vegan after this experience. Never going back as life is too short ☹️

Sorry, don't want to be rude, but there I had the worst espresso I had in my life.Service was friendly but honestly I believe that they have no idea how to work in hospitality/eat/food and drinks industry.The "barista" spent long time making my order.(1coffee,1Capuccino, 2 juices (already bottled) Tables were really sticky, no napkins and hygiene was inexistent. Atmosphere is good , but the other topics play against the place. Very disappointed. Never go back .

If they could just be organised about table numbers. How hard can that be?

Let’s be honest “worker’s cooperative vegan cafe” doesn’t always inspire faith the service and food will be amazing but this place is grand - the staff were welcoming and funny, the vegan breakfast muffin is hearty and satisfying and the coffee delicious.

Went for a gig in the basement. Really great venue for live music. Great service and friendly staff. Everyone was super helpful. Amazing selection of teas and non alcoholic drinks. Brownies and cookies looked amazing!

This is a house of kindness, nourishment, and connection. I really felt looked after here, and like people care! Made a friend too and had nice exchanges. The staff are magnificent. They offer refills for tea, which is the definition of living the dream. Absolutely worth stopping by this place, it’s got soul.

Curly fries and coffee were good but, the sausage sandwich was disappointing, the bread should be toasted to avoid sogginess. Our curly fries were forgotten initially and the meal took longer to arrive than it should have.

Delicious, simple vegan food at a great price. The coffee was great too. I love the idea of a co-op working space so I was really happy to support! Berlin cafe kinda vibe. The tables were a bit sticky but everything seemed very clean.

Relaxed community run vegan cafe. I didn't think much to the coffee but enjoyed the bacon muffin I had and the vibe generally.

Great little cafe and a delicious turmeric latte. Shame that the booths were taken up by lone people spending the day on their laptops and we, as a larger group couldn't fit around one table. Otherwise, lovely.

Affordable vegan food served with a smile!

This is my favourite cafe in Bristol. Both food and drink are excellent. The sausage sandwich is excellent. The small breakfast is great and is has good portion sizes. The only frustrating thinf about this place is long waiting times.

This is a cute coffee shop with a nice atmosphere. I saw a server bring an iced coffee drink to someone and I stopped her on the way back to ask what it was because I didn't see any iced drinks on the menu. She said it wasn't on the menu but it was a "slotter". Or maybe she said ice latte and my ears just aren't tuned to a British accent! Some confusion on my part as I didn't realize you go up to the counter to order and pay and no server comes to the table to take an order. I ordered the BLT sandwich and it was the same woman at the cash register who I'd asked about the iced drink who asked me if I'd like the slotter so I said sure. There is a jug to self serve glasses of water, so I took one, and went back to my table. It was just after 1pm and the place was a little over half full, though many of the tables already had their drinks/food. My slotter came out and it was just an iced coffee as far as I could tell. It was OK. My sandwich took about 45 minutes. Wow! Server did apologize for the wait. It was all good, because I was reading my Kindle and it was a very relaxing place to be. The sandwich was very good. I was very happy with it. Definitely recommend, especially if you are vegan/vegetarian.

If Bristol was a cafe … Brilliant food, brilliant people, brilliant atmosphere!!! Pretty art on the walls from local artists, lots of leaflets advertising local initiatives and shows, great range of teas, salad and the fried cauliflower is just perfect too!!

Such a cool unique place, owned by a cooperative which is amazing! Went there twice in the two days I was in Bristol because people were so friendly and the food was so good! Will definitely be returning

The coffee is tasteless and very much textureless! The espresso was more on the sour wide ! Not comfy chairs.

Lovely cafe with great food and drink however lacks customer service. Me and my friend were not greeted by the person on tills and felt judged he needed to be more personable as it was a effortless conversation.

Visiting from Brighton and was going to have lunch at Fi Real but then realised not open until 4pm. Found Cafe Kino and thought would give a try. Absolutely amazing. Friendly service, great options on the menu and the food was delicious. Love the forward it on scheme where you can pay £2.50 that will help someone who cannot afford it to be able to get a drink or some soup. Thanks for a great meal and hope you're still going for when we come back to Bristol again.

Vegan cafe run by a cooperative in Stokes Croft. Long time since been here. Service was a tad laid back on a Monday morning. Ordered a small breakfast which was fine. Well cooked - pretty standard with tomato, sausage, hash brown, beans and mushroom. However, Americano with oat milk was coagulating a bit as if it was with soy milk.

Great vegan cafe, kids loved their cookies and cake. Fab coffee, smiles all round 😀

Went here today for the first time. Reading the reviews here it made me curious, especially about the milkshake. Unfortunately no milkshake today... paid for a chai latte £3,40 and it was more foam than the actual drink. Very expensive for what you get. The kitchen is an open space and it looked like the ventilation in the kitchen did not work because the whole cafe was quite smokey.

All vegan coop cafe that gives me Berlin vibes. Very buzzy on Sunday morning brunch time. The breakfast we had [small vegan British and a breakfast muffin] was solid 3.5⭐️ coffee was not particularly great tho. They also have Club Mate, which was my special highlight drink here. The most annoying part is that there’s an open kitchen, that clearly lacks a better extraction system, we could smell all the “burning” and cooking happening on the stove. On the positive side: Super affordable prices and friendly staff

I could write an ode to cafe kino, but I don’t think I’m allowed to use that many characters on here. I love the cafe, I’ve been coming here for years, my friends and my child love it, so does my dog. The food is always excellent, coffee always tasty, they’re intersectional, accessible, just lovely lovely lovely.

Hilarious that this place is listed under ‘quick bites’ . There was literally one ticket ahead of ours and we waited an hour for our food. No idea why. Won’t be coming back.

Amazing gluten free breakfast! They didn’t have one on the menu - and they ran out of gf buns for lunch so they whipped me up a delicious plate of crispy tofu, tomatoes, mushrooms, kale, beans and hashbrowns that they reassured me were made in a separate fryer even though I said I was just intolerant rather than coeliac. Really lovey staff too!

Simple but delicious vegan food. Welcoming and laid-back atmosphere, with a great story behind the cafe.

Wow what a find!! We didn’t fancy queuing in the rain for the cafe opposite so came into Cafe Kino instead. I don’t think it’ll be long until there are queues outside this place as well. Super friendly staff, nice atmosphere with lots of space, you’re not cramped in like most breakfast places on this road) Good music, and the food was incredibly tasty. Both myself and my friend aren’t vegans but loved the breakfast and will certainly make this place a regular stop for food. Great value as well. For two of us, we had two big breakfasts, plus a coffee and an orange juice each and it was only £30.. this is whether spoons territory without the grease. These guys have got it spot on, simple straight forward menus with a good base set of choices which makes choosing what you want super easy. We will be back for lunch there as well as the lunch menu looked equally as nice.

The burger I had was nice, but not great, I'm afraid. I found the way that everything was handled was a little 'amateur hour,' in that they forgot something on my order despite it not being busy in the slightest, (I reckon about 6 people over than my girlfriend and I) and when they brought over most of the food, the guy had next to no customer service skills, almost looking at the floor as he handed the food over, I could also barely hear whatever he did say. But alas, the food tasted okay. I ordered some rosemary chips (the item that was forgotten) and when they brought them over (after I finished the "first part?" Of my meal, they were basically normal chios with dried rosemary leaves sprinkled over the top. I was at least expecting them to be tossed in rosemary oil or something, but no, you could have just brushed the small amount of rosemary off of them and had normal chios haha. The staff are friendly and I understand this cafe doesn't advertise itself as being 'flashy' in any way, but man, bit of a let down for the price of £28.(something)

Went for a quick breakfast. I really liked the open layout, booths, and the staff were all seemingly having a nice time working there. It's always great to see a cooperative do great things.

I really enjoyed my breakfast! I had the full English and it was lovely. We didn’t realise the cafe had a full vegan menu, so the staff were patient with us and explained the menu. The menu had a variety of vegan dishes, some of which were quite unique. Everything fresh and yummy!

Garlic mushrooms are beautiful, good coffee as well. Oat and cranberry cookies are delicious. Sitting is a bit tight.

I happened upon this cafe and its my first time in Bristol. Its a vegan place and the food is delicious!! Had the full English and a yummy turmeric latte. Really chilled and lovely staff and the architecture of the cafe is stunning. If you want good food in chilled vibes this is your place. 10/10.

First experience of Cafe Kino and unfortunately will be the last. Very slow paced service and average food considering the cost. Waited almost an hour for a quarter pounder cheese burger and fries. The kitchen staff seemed overwhelmed and the place wasn't even busy.

Lovely place if you're looking for a some good vegan food, or just good food as most people call it. Great staff who were friendly despite being incredibly busy when we visited. Definitely going here again.
