Have been going there for 10 years. I even held my husband's wake there last year. They very kindly charged at cost. Recently, last week and this week, I have been with friends. One waitress decided to shout at me. This week she shouted so loud the whole cafe could hear. It was about a topic I wanted to talk to the owner about. She must have eavesdropped on private conversations. Because of her behaviour, I shall not return.

Popped in to pick up a couple of toasted sandwhiches to takeaway. While waiting had a lovely cup of tea which came in a little tea pot & a cute little knitted tea cosy on the pot plus milk in a mini milk bottle which was really lovely. Friendly, welcoming staff & delicious toasties enjoyed by myself & husband. We'll visit again very soon!!

2 visits in 2 days, one for coffee and a catch up with a friend and second for a family meal. Despite them being very busy on a Monday lunchtime, we were accommodated on a table for 5 as we had been let down with another booking. The food was all fresh and delicious and the desserts and coffee were lovely. Above all the staff are so professional, always smiling and no matter how busy, always chatty. They take very good care of and are so good to their regular customers. They also do home cooked dog treats, that my dog adores!

I used to go here a lot for oat milk lattes, but it seems like they now use really awful cheap oat milk that is definitely not made for baristas (no froth, tastes bitter).. See picture of the oat milk ‘flat white’ that I was given… Had to chuck it in the bin unfortunately and made my own instead. Such a shame as they used to do great coffee. Still nice staff but I’m disappointed in the huge drop in quality :(

Just been to the most amazing little eatery at Childwall Triangle in Liverpool. With 2 friends who bypassed the local pubs looking for a nice place for a cuppa, bite to eat and a good catch up. We hadn’t booked anywhere, but knowing there are a few places at the Childwall Triangle we drove there. Parked up and spotted cosy little cafe Calisa. There was seating outside but we opted to try get seat inside. We walked inside to a lovely atmosphere of customers sat chatting/eating at various tables. The place isn’t big but it oozes charm and warmth. We looked for a vacant table and a guy and his wife told us they were just leaving/settling their bill and we could have their table. However staff told us there was no need to wait for that table and a guy James quickly moved another 2 tables together further inside and the 3 of us were quickly settled into our seats. We ordered 3 pots of tea whilst we looked over our menus to determine what was on offer and what we’d be choosing. The pots of tea arrived, complete with a lovely colourful (handmade) woollen tea-cosy on each which was lovely and added to the charm of the Calisa. Lovely cup and saucer each, with biscuit on each and separate jug of fresh milk (love that instead of those horrid little milk pots other places serve as milk) 2 of us ordered homemade Scouse, with the option of red cabbage or beetroot. These were served with a fresh baked roll and butter. The chunks of steak in the steak was plentiful. Lovely and hot. Tasted delicious 10/10 x 2. I ordered Tuna jacket potato. I was given the option of Tuna with or without mayonnaise. I opted for “just a little” mayonnaise. It was served just as i’d ordered, jacket potato, portion of tuna mixed with a little mayonnaise plus some salad. Also 2 small packs of butter incase I wanted to use them with my baked potato. Lovely and hot, nicely seasoned. Good size portions. Tasted delicious. 10/10 from me. We were not rushed and we chatted, ate and drank our tea. Ordered another 2 pots. Asked if we wanted fresh cups but we said no thanks we’ll continue to uses the ones we already had. 2 more tea pots arrived, complete with their wooly tea-cosy and biscuits provided to each of us 👍 One of my friends only has small appetite so didn’t eat all her Scouse. James who was looking after us asked if she’d like to take it home as Calisa would box it up for her. She said no but in the end we agreed to have a “doggy pot/box/bag” and take the leftovers home for my dog (a yorkie) as there was plenty of steak in it she’d love 😂🐾 James returned with my doggy pot 👍 Before we each used the the toilet facilities. Small Room on ground floor. Lovely little plaques and quote pictures on the wall (yes i read them all 😂) Most ladies judge a place by how clean/good the venue toilet facilities are. The Calisa’s is full of character, spotlessly clean and has everything you need. The 3 of us agreed this was a little diamond of a place. Fabulous ambiance. Great quality food. Clean and cosy venue. Friendly staff and great service. A fantastic find.. Thank you James for looking after us today. You and everyone who was working there today are great ambassadors for the Calisa cafe. We’ll be back 👏👏👏

I went to Calisa with some friends a week ago for lunch for one of my friends' birthdays. Once we'd ordered we then had to wait a full hour for the food to arrive, which was only lukewarm. However what really annoyed and upset us was this: one friend had brought a small individual birthday cake with her but when she asked the boss if he wouldn't mind bringing it out to us after our meal, he refused. He said that they don't do that, they have their own cakes. I can honestly say that of all the many places I have dined at I have never known any refuse to bring out a previously bought birthday cake. Only last night we ate at the Eureka for my husband's birthday, and not only did they bring out our cake at the end of the meal, but also added candles! (which I had forgotten to buy!) So come on Calisa, let's see some good will, not this mean spirited attitude. I have lunched at your place several times in the past, but I won't be returning in a hurry.

It may be a small cafe, tucked into a corner of quite a busy road, but inside the decor is cosy and comfortable and the staff are extremely attentive but never intrusive. The full breakfast is cooked to perfection and I was advised that everything is freshly cooked - I could tell! My partner ordered a panini and was informed that he could have whatever he liked in it (from an extensive list of ingredients) as these were also cooked fresh. Although it may be more expensive than your average-joe cafe, it's worth the extra few quid as I have never had such excellently cooked eggs and such a cute pot of tea complete with home-knitted tea cosy. I will most certainly be back as I was given a loyalty card entitling me to my 7th hot drink free - after two hot drinks each in one visit, we already have 4 points down! I also enjoyed an amazing Rainbow Cake slice from the delicious selection of homemade cakes, cheesecakes, scones and traybakes. I was told it is also possible to reserve a place for afternoon tea, and I saw another couple enjoying this while I was visiting - it looked amazing! Definitely the friendliest staff and the best breakfast in all of Liverpool. I loved it so much that I got myself a job here, and after only a few shifts I would still come any day to eat the food as the kitchen is clean and the food definitely is the freshest possible!

Went there recently with my young daughter, who has coeliac disease ( ie she cannot eat anything containing gluten, found in wheat barley oats and rye. From the Liverpool Coeliac Support facebook page we found out that Calisa offers gluten free food and cakes, so I felt comfortable taking my daughter there.I explained to the waitress about her allergy and she reeled off a short list of items she could have. I ordered a gluten free wrap for her. The wrap arrived with crisps on the plate and a salad with a dressing. The crisps however contained wheat (I asked them to check the ingredients on the crisp packet) and they were unsure what was in the dressing. The staff were really lovely and apologetic, however my daughter could have been really ill. I did send an email to the manager/owner (about two weeks ago) via there website however as of yet I havent received a reply.

I went to Calisa with a friend this morning and ordered two big breakfasts. Not cheap - £18.10 for the breakfasts and 2 lattes. The pleasant waitress asked if we would like poached or scrambled eggs. I said 'don't you do fried?', to which the waitress said that she would ask so I said if not we'll have poached. We were given 2 lattes and had finished them before the food finally arrived after a long wait, there were only three other customers. As the food was given to us the owner said in a very loud voice 'Why have you done fried eggs? We don't do fried eggs you should have just said no, it's not what we do!'. We were quite embarrassed as it was said in a very intimidating manner for all of the customers to hear. I said to the waitress that I hoped I hadn't got her into trouble and even she was red and embarrassed by the brash woman's outburst. We asked the waitress would she mind if we closed the door as there was a cold breeze all around our legs and the waitress obliged willingly. The owner then started bellowing that the door shouldn't have been closed because there was a smell in the café. We felt very uncomfortable and decided not to get another drink, just eat up quickly and get out. The owner should take a few lessons from her pleasant waitress, maybe a customer care course wouldn't go amiss if she wants to be there to celebrate the cafes 2nd anniversary. We certainly won't be going back, nor will the people that we know were going to try it - not a good way to do business.

I popped into Calisa last week with my mum whilst waiting for a dentist appointment, I have to say, the service was awful! The staff were rude and acted like they were above you and the pace they worked at was shockingly slow. Besides this, the menu is very small, and when I wanted a jacket potato, they did not have one, so I settled for a cheese on toast, which took 40 minutes (even though the shop was EMPTY!) I will not be returning and I will be telling people it is a complete waste of time going there.

Calisa is close to the M62 and well worth a visit on the way to other attractions. This friendly cafe has a good selection of home cooked food and an impressive selection of drinks - including bubble tea. We were spoilt for choice. Egg Benedict, tuna wrap and home made soup were all delicious. We loved the individual pots of tea with tea cosies. The selection of cakes made it hard to choose. The malteser cheesecake was a big hit but then again so was the chocolate brownie, the Victoria sponge and the home made egg custard. We will be back!

I am absolutely delighted to have discovered this lovely restaurant. Staff are very welcoming, friendly and efficient. The ambience is excellent and surroundings are beautifully decorated and maintained. The food is wonderful with an unusual and tasty range of pies and cakes - the cakes are indeed delicious. An excellent hideaway for a little confort and indulgence.

Visited Calisa today with my friend and my wee baby. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing and my goats cheese and roasted vegetable panini was delicious. The cakes were also really well made and despite being vegetarian, I had lots to choose from. I will return!

Es un local donde no notas tanto la peculiaridad de la cocina inglesa.Digamos que es lo mas parecido a los pubs restaurantes españoles y europeos.
