The tastes, portion sizes, location, service and price were all fantastic. You have the option of using chopsticks (badly in my case) or forks/spoons. We were also given a selection of small complimentary starters. For my drink I ordered a Korean Plum wine which was absolutely delicious!!For food, we ordered dumplings, rice/fish cakes and calamari for starters and they were all amazing. For the main, we ordered the BBQ Rib and Pork in ginger and they cooked it right there in front of us on a hot plate/burner they have in the middle of every table. Again, the flavours were out of this world! At the end of the meal we were offered mints and given £5 vouchers for the lunch menu! The ambience and decor in the restaurant is perfect and we will definitely be returning (once I can learn how to use chopsticks a little better, perhaps!)

Of all the Korean restaurants I've eaten at, this one tops all. Unpretentious and sincere, Cah Chi is simply an excellent experience. Attentive service, with explanations and help, a varied menu easy to understand, and most of all, very flavourful food well done and presented. I had the pork dumpling soup which came full of vegetable shards added; a delicious broth. Then the smoked duck breast starter -- wow, what a smokey taste, very tender breast meat, with a mustard sauce perfect for dipping. Then the BBQ -- both tenderloin and pork belly. The pork belly was done perfectly crispy at table, and the beef was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Fresh lettuce wraps and condiments -- even the tray of complimentary veggies were perfect. Final dish was the baked cast pot of cooked rice with steak tartare bits and veggies -- mmmm. Delicious and hot. An excellent experience all the way through. Be forewarned though, they do not take any form or card as payment -- cash only.

I won't pretend to know what a lot of it was but we had spicy cabbage in a red sauce, squid, these strange little bean things (that tasted great!) an odd, cold thing that was like mash potato, eggs in soy sauce and salad in a really tasty dressing. Waiters explained what every dish was - I just have a terrible memory. Then the main event was the meat bbq'd at the table and served with rice and spicy sauce in a lettuce leaf. Loved the presentation, flavours and service in this restaurant. Meat grilled at your table which adds a bit of a personal touch. All elements can be wrapped in lettuce leaves or eaten separately, healthy and delicious, just make sure you order enough. Marinated aubergine and the grilled meats a standout. For dessert, the chocolate fondant is good if a bit derivative. But the black sesame ice cream is a total winner.

I have been here on a number of occasions, the service is always excellent. When I have been with kids they are well catered for. It is not expensive when you consider the quality of the food. Especially for the BBQ as the meat is lean, good quality and v fresh. Similarly they use fresh vegetables, large prawns and seafood. This costs. I have always enjoyed everything I have eaten not just the BBQ but the noodles and also the rice. My favourite local restaurant.

Had the lunch special, it was not terrible, but not good either. I left hungry as it was really only a snack sized portion rather than what I call a lunch. I know I am not the only one who think's so as the guy on the table next to me ordered a full extra lunch after the first one because it didn't fill him. It got worse when I was deceived. They gave me a voucher with "£5 gift card, all lunch items" written on it. I went back to use this, because even though the food isn't great, a £5 reduction off a £5 meal seemed good to me. I was then told the coupon actually means all lunch items are £5. Very deceitful coupon, especially as lunch is £5 anyway. This doesn't fill me with confidence of honest management

Bullets points is the only way I can get this across.- Attended this restaurant for 5 years to date, regularly, always received excellent service- Tonight, appalling- Service, waitrons did not listen once - Served incorrect food and argued that it was the right meat - We ordered Duck, Sirloin and Pork - We received gammon, quick fry fatty beef and forgot our duck - I highlighted this to the waiter, he argued that the gammon was duck (how?!) Then proceeded to show me a vacuum packed smoked portion from a supermarket of duck. I know what duck is, we all do. My family used to own a butcher, I am WELL accustomed to meat types - There were other annoying issues but please read my other friends comprehensive reviews for fryer info- In addition to this, we booked through Open table and they cancelled our booking as to not allow us to receive a bad review...of course they have a 100% success rate of pax Just. The service has always been excellent and food of a high standard to the extent I am a frequent customer and often recommend it to friends. After tonight's experience I will never attend or recommend again. We had our BBQ turned off in the middle of cooking without explanation and were given the wrong meat. When we highlighted this to the staff they argued with us and brought out vacuum sealed store bought meat to our table and continued to argue. Very disappointing after prior experiences. We booked through Open Table and when we left (paying for our incorrect meal) they listed our booking as cancelled so that we were prevented from providing a review on that forum.

Went here as a party of 8 to celebrate my 60th birthday with wife, kids and their partners.I have never previously been to a Korean restaurant, but am very familiar with other Asian and Far-Eastern food. I stuck with the set BBQ menu, with a couple of extra side dishes. The restaurant is unpretentious, bright, very clean, friendly, unhurried, busy. We had a great time and I loved the food. There are some negative reviews below complaining about portion sizes etc - all I can say is that we were all hungry and left replete and satisfied.A nice feature of the restaurant is that they allow you to BYO wine, charging a modest £3 a bottle corkage, which keeps the bill down - there is a Sainsburys just across the road. All up including some (very good) deserts and s/c, worked out at around £30 a head - so not bargain basement but very good value for that.Note that the restaurant only takes cash - there is an ATM along the street, but I knew about it beforehand from this site and went wedged up.Serving staff prompt, very pleasant but not intrusive.Thoroughly recommend.

The staff were very attentive from the get go, I booked a table for 8 people on a Saturday night which was easy for them to accommodate (they did tell us tables of that size must order of the set menu!) We were more than happy to order of the set menu as we had never tried Korean food before so we thought this would be a great introduction.Wow, the food was incredible and loads of it too. Nice fresh salads to start with various accompaniments then followed by lots of varied meats grilled right in front of us at our table. (By the looks of it every table has a BBQ in the middle, a great authentic way to delve into the wondrous flavours that Korea has to offer). During the main course 3 members of staff came over to the table to help cook our meat to perfection. A fair price per head for the set menu as you get great quality and plenty of it. With a £3 corkage fee it can work and really cost effective. Friendly staff, incredible flavours and novelity of a Korean BBQ at your table - well worth a visit!

I've only been to Cah-Chi twice (more than a year apart), but they are consistently professional, welcoming, slick and the food is great. On both occasions I have opted for the set meal (as it seems easiest) and the food is really varied, tasty and actually really good value. It's worth taking up the offer to BYO wine (and pay £4 corkage), and then sit back and enjoy the kimchee - and everything else. The only thing to know is that they are focussed on a swift turnaround, so you won't be having a long relaxed eating affair with trouble getting staff attention - but if you fancy an efficient, good-value Korean BBQ - then you'll enjoy this. Well, there is no doubting that the food is fantastic, along with the service. These items cannot be challenged. However, from the 'off' was seated at a table for 2 which is fine, only there were 3 of us, so it was a bit of a squeeze....understandable though that they sort of squashing us in because within the hour, the place was packed out, with queues at the bar and people 'waiting' for tables. It is a warm friendly atmosphere and I must say, this is the very first restaurant ever, where I did not once look up to 'people watch'. Never had this type of food before so was a little unsure how to go about what and how much to order. Next time will order more starters. Lesson learned. Had the fish barbequed at my table which is a fantastic experience, along with a bottle of red, which was actually really quite nice (not my usual choice). Staff were attentive and very pleasing. However, the only issue I have with this place is the bill....it came up in Korean! As someone from good ol' Blighty, it was totally unreadable to me and therefore, we were unable to check if it was correct! It just so busy and we didn't want to make a scene and so did not ask for it in English. It was very expensive for 3 beers, 1 bottle of wine, one starter and one main each, it came to £135.00. Little disappointed in that, it did sort of spoil the evening as my husband became a little suspicious. However, I intend to return as the food was stunning.

I used to live in New Malden, where there are plenty of good Korean BBQ places but by far this one is the best for a number of reasons.Firstly, the service is outstanding. This place is great because you can bring your bottle, so we took our own bottle of prosecco. They provided a bucket of ice and two flutes. Their service was fast, attentive and very down to earth and friendly. Really have no gripes about this whatsoever. They allowed us space and time to order. Towards the end, they were busier but as soon as we requested something, someone was there to serve. This isn't exactly the most authentic Korean BBQ restaurant, only because they do not have a larger variety of meats such as Ox's tongue - which is amazing. Everything from the starters to mains were fantastic. The usual kimchi, seafood pancake and soups and then two meat selection. The lady who served us was a star, she was ever so friendly, cooked the meat for us whilst making conversation. The food was great, again, no complaints. The price is also very good. It is not cheap but it is not mega bucks! For 4 starters and 2 mains and the sides, including two alcoholic drinks, it was £51 inc service charge. Can't go wrong!! The restaurant itself is great for couples, families, friends and really does suit any event. There were couples with a baby - so it really does! The ambience is on point and the décor is lovely - a good balance between contemporary and authentic.

Although I have travelled extensively and eaten in many places I had absolutely no experience of Korean food. I think I have missed out! This was a lovely meal served by extremely attentive and pleasant staff. They were so friendly and had no issue in explaining the components of each course. As we had no idea of what to order we decided to have one of the set menus. I'm usually a bit nervous of set menus but this was wonderful. Lots of little tastes and experiences including some things I would never had chosen but enjoyed trying. The Korean BBQ in the centre of the table cooked our chicken perfectly. The set menu was only about £20 per head and if like me you are unfamiliar with Korean food I would recommend it. I will certainly have it again next time I visit this lovely place.

We passed this hotel for the last 7 years and I really wished we went sooner. The food is really good, the meat for the BBQ amazing and the service faultless. It is also BYO but they have very good wines and sake on offer. The prises is very reasonable. It is very good value for money. Be sure to book and you will sit in the front part of the restaurant rather than in the back. Having said that the back is not bad as it was where we sat. we will definitely go again!!

This was my first taste of Korean food and I doubt it will be my last. Overall very impressed with the flavour combinations in both my starter (spicy soup) and the BBQ (we decided on pork and tenderloin). Having the BBQ in front of you added some theatre to the meal. The service was very attentive and I thought for what we ordered very good value price wise (2 starters , pickled cabbage, 2x BBQ, 2 beers and 2 plum wines for less than £60). It is the ideal type of food /venue for a large group of friends to enjoy a night out in south west London.

The staff were extremely attentive, the presentation of the food was fantastic, but the food itself was not terribly exciting. It's greatest flaw though is that if you want to leave "not-hungry" (not full and satisfied, just no longer hungry) expect to spend £30 (drinks excluded). Don't get me wrong, it was a fun family outing, my 8 year old was thrilled by the BBQ and the beautiful tempura, but we left barely satisfied. If you're keen on going, I would definitely advise to book a table, the place was completely full on a Friday night.

My friends and I came here after looking for authentic Korean BBQ meals, and this restaurant was one of the top Korean restaurants I saw that had great service. So we booked a reservation and went there. This is just a few seconds walk from Earlsfield station, very easy to find. Just in front of the bus stop. First and foremost, the service in this place is really and truly great. I would love to eat in Cah Chi again, even if it takes 2 changes to get there, with a total of 50 - 60 minutes commute time. The place is a little bit small, minimalistic decor. Food is great. We opted for the set BBQ meal which cost less than £20. For this meal alone, we got small plates of complimentary appetizers which consisted of sliced egg in vinegar, kimchee, pickled cucumber and some sweet caramelized beans. These are really small saucers. Then they gave us some vermicelli noodles with beef- which were really great, spicy squid and somehting else. They also served us miso soup and salad. Then they served the marinated spicy pork and Dak Bulgogi, which the waiter cooked for us on the table. This was served with very little rice in a saucer to be wrapped in the lettuce with a few sweetened veggies and some onions and some korean paste which were spicy and salty at the same time. All in all it was really filling, even though I would have preferred they serve all the dishes at the same time, like in a real Korean setting. Unless you are real hungry, then this is just enough for you. Otherwise there are more side dishes that you can order that are equally good. Would I return here again? Definitely!!

Love the place, love the food and the attentive service. Plus, its BYO, and being a passionate wine drinker, i enjoy bringing my expensive wines and Champagnes to enjoy with good food. And unlike other BYOs i've been to, they have excellent decor, good service, good well cooked food, and most importantly, proper stemware for wines!

The food was great, some of the best Korean food i've eaten (including in Korea itself). Some of our party had the BBQ which is cooked in front of you at your table, and some of us had separate dishes, all of which we enjoyed. The only problem was serving times when we were there. It took almost two hours from arrival to receiving the last of the starters. It was unusually busy for a Tuesday night and I think they must have been having major kitchen problems on top of that, so i'm willing to believe it was a one-off. We were given some free drinks and they apologised several times.Cost came to £30 each, including starter/main, some sides, a couple of drinks each and service.I will probably return, and also grabbed a takeaway menu, just hope they deliver as far as Tooting Bec!

My boyfriend and I went to this little restaurant on a Friday evening after finding in on google maps and deciding to give it a try. It's just down from Earlsfield station so really easy to get to. We arrived quite early (6.30pm) and the place was empty. The first thing we noticed was that most of the tables were reserved, which is always a good sign! However, the friendly waitress found us a free table and was happy to help us with any questions we had on the menu.Having not tried Korean food before we went for the set menu. It had 4 stages to it with little veggie dishes to start (all well flavoured), then soup and salad, then a few side dishes with the BBQ pork coming last. All the tables have little BBQs set into them and the waiter will come to the table and cook the meat on them in front of you! It was a really fun experience and the pork was delicious. The waitress also showed us the proper way to construct our lettuce boats with all the little bits they serve with them. I think she could tell that we were sitting there wondering what on earth we were meant to do other than scoff it all down!Overall, it was a lovely meal. The flavours are fresh and light and even with all those courses, you don't feel unpleasantly full. We also tried some nice Korean beer with our meals, which I would certainly recommend. We will be back for more in future.

Having never eating Korean food before, I had no expectations....Its a small restaurant but very nicely laid out. We were a group of 9 and were easily accommodated without affecting the dining experience of other diners. We did have a Korean amongst our party so we were guided through the various options and ended up sampling a wide variety of food. Honestly, we tried everything and loved everything. Its really that good.As part of the dining experience, there is a gas plate in the middle of the table which I understand is very traditional in korean cusine. I would only recommend that you don't wear your best shirt, as we fried beef and mushrooms on the gas plates. Thats not a criticism, just a good tip!!!Staff are terrific and very attentive. And its great value for money.Hope to be back soon.

I have been to this restaurant (Earlsfield Branch)so many times...it's my favourite restaurant...I believe EVERY restaurant in the world could learn customer service skills from the staff - you have to go there to experience it.The food is also very authentic, tastes so fresh... and the best part is about the barbecue being cooked on our very own table...I would definitely go there again, and definitely recommend.

This was our second visit. Staff very friendly, service very good. We had the bbq dish which is cooked in front of you. We had 3 different dishes which we shared and starters, The starters were quite large portions, but we still had room for the main course. All the food was delicious and well presented. Wine list is limited but you can take your own. Highly recommended but it is quite different from your run of the mill oriental restaurant.

This is my go-to local Indian take away. Particularly love their chicken dansak. Great mushroom rice and paratha too. Very friendly service too if you use the collection service. I recently discovered they have a dedicated app which I have been using instead of Deliveroo etc. great work guys, keep it up!

We had high expectations of this BYOB restaurant as there was a considerable queue for a table when we visited. When we eventually got a table we waited quite a while for our order to be taken and then, throughout the service, had to ask for dishes that had been ordered but not brought to the table. The waitress seemed particularly disinterested. The food was not cheap and was disappointing - surprisingly bland, in fact.. An emotive issue, I know, but the Palestinian flag appearing on the advertising monitors in the restaurant, was, we thought, unnecessary in a commercial environment. All in all, a mildly disappointing experience.
