Caffe Nero - Bath, High Street in Bath and North East Somerset

Overall, our experience at Café Nero was disappointing. The tables were dirty and sticky, there was used cups/plates/cutlery in a large box next to the seating area, the café was cold, the atmosphere was dark and it looked run down. The toilets were disgusting; they smelt horrible and needed to be cleaned. Nonetheless, the upstairs seating seemed nice and the staff who served us were very welcoming and friendly.

Ik ben een fan van Caffè Nero. Ik hou van de gezellige huiselijkheid van hun vestigingen en van hun producten. Omdat het warm was, koos ik dit keer voor de Iced Cappuccino en die was erg lekker en verkoelend.

The coffee shop was calm, it was kind of clean. The, coffee shop were playing calm classic music and the staff were polite. I purchased an iced latte, the flavor was good and had plenty of caramel.

The coffee shop was very good it was quiet and clean. However, the toilets were dirty and there were stains. The coffee shop played calming music which allowed for us to relax whilst we were there. The staff were polite and friendly and the service was really good. It was a shame about the toilets really as overall we enjoyed our visit!

This is a wonderful Cafe Nero! The service was effecient and friendly with the server making suggestions on how we could improve our coffee experience. If we lived in this area, this would definitely be our go to cafe all the time!!!

La idea era tomar café (el mío con bebida de soja) como opción saludable después de comer estando cerca de la Abadía. Tras varias opciones que tuvimos que descartar por diversos motivos, nos dejamos llevar y llegamos a esta cafetería. La decoración es bonita y disponen de butacas de piel muy confortables que invitan a pasar largas horas en el local, aunque el servicio descuida bastante la limpieza de las mesas. De hecho, tuvimos que ser nosotras mismas las que quitáramos las tazas sucias de los comensales anteriores… Lo mejor que tienen es, sin duda, la ubicación y que el personal es muy amable. Además, el café estaba bien presentado y disponen de bebida de soja, como en casi todo UK. A mejorar: el café no es el mejor que he tomado y teniendo en cuenta el nivel de los cafés italianos me esperaba algo mejor.

This is the 3rd time I hve been here and the toilets have been out of order. This time I chose to eat outside the person who got my coffees and cake refused to carry my tray outside I was a little worried I would trip at the steps. She said she wss sure I could manage it. I would like to see her carry a tray outside when she is 73.

What have Nero done to their coffee recently - it was so bitter? Service was so slow - deliveroo driver took priority over everyone! Porridge was so thin - not sure Oliver Twist would have seen the point in asking for more.

The coffee and toastie excellent. Service was good not very busy. Not a customer of cafe Nero at all but did enjoy the coffee.

Usually love Cafe Nero but this is another example, after Exeter and Plymouth, where the service and coffee is exemplary BUT the cleanliness and state of the cafe and toilets seriously lets it down . Dirty floors, toilet out of order upstairs and no sign before going up to say it wasn’t working, sticky tables and just generally a bit grubby !

Stopped in during rain ☔️ while walking round the Xmas Fayre in November. Busy busy in the q. It moved along fairly quickly.

The wife and I are lovers of Caffè Nero and regularly use them at least weekly visited Bath from Salisbury and oh my god what a difference poor non existent customer service no smile stale cake One trainee barista working two regular colleagues doing nothing apart from pretending to look busy avoid at all costs!!!

The soup we had was lovely although not quite hot enough. Sandwiches were nice. Coffee was delicious.

Coffee was fine, however I could only see two staff working, but the whole place is filthy! Dust and dirt behind the side door, sweet wrappers next to the setee where we were sat.Hygeine seemed non existent.

We popped in here for a light lunch, the place was quite busy but the staff got thing done in good time, this is in essence a cafe so don't expect fine dining or a vast menu and wine list. The coffees were well above average and the Tuna melt I had was tasty and large.

Great choice of Frappes, will be sad to see them go. Especially enjot the pistachio and the white chocolate and strrawberry ones

Won’t be back! Staff more interested in chatting to a friend who was propping up the counter. Tables littered with used cups and plates. Toilets-broken soap and toilet roll dispensers. Visited many Cafe Neros but this is by far the worst ever!

We were in Bath for my daughters graduation so everywhere was busy but our experience in this dump was terrible. The girl serving kept stopping while making our drinks to chat to her colleague and a regular customer, which meant our 5 drinks took ages to make, creating a queue that nearly went out the door. The toilets were disgusting, no soap, filthy and all the paper dispensers were broken. The whole place looked grubby and in need of a revamp. Definitely one to avoid.

It appeared that there was only 1 member of staff. She was nice and calm. The toilets were absolutley disgusting. A health risk. Looked like they had not been cleaned for a week.

We stopped off at this caffe nero. Boyfriend not a fan of chains but this one was fully stocked and seemed very safe and open amidst a pandemic which was reassuring. We have been before so can't wait for the seating areas to reopen. I would say better toilet facilities need to be installed, and maybe better replenishing of food stuffs like sausage sandwiches etc But coffee was well made and excellent.

Entré al baño mientras mi novio nos pedía bebidas para llevar y fue absolutamente repugnante. El piso estaba resbaladizo y sucio y necesitaba barrer y trapear desesperadamente, el asiento estaba sucio, los cubos de basura estaban desbordados y el papel higiénico en un charco húmedo en el piso lo hacía inservible. El grifo estaba sucio, así que utilicé el desinfectante de manos cuando me fui; incluso sin una pandemia mundial y medidas de higiene más estrictas, era absolutamente vergonzoso. Cuando volví a bajar, observé las mesas de las que claramente no se habían limpiado las mesas vacías antes de voltearlas. El sistema de permitir que las personas entraran y se sentaran en cualquier lugar cuando era bastante obvio que no contaban con el personal suficiente para garantizar que todas las mesas y sillas fueran desinfectadas y que los baños fueran realmente utilizables fue una vergüenza. No visite.

I love a Nero's coffee ,so when I spotted the cafe I was in there ,,very friendly staff as always ,even with safety measures in place it was still lovely.

A party of six family members had coffee and cakes during a pre-Christmas shopping trip to Bath. The coffees were very good quality, the food was ok but the decor was untidy and the tables and chairs were grubby. We were slightly disappointed as we have had good experiences with other Caffe Nero shops in other Wiltshire towns.

I am a great fan of our local Cafe Nero in Carmarthen however this branch was a total let down.Although the standard of the drinks remained high I'm afraid the, what seemed like, work shy & grumpy staff were a disappointment to the brand name. The seating wasn't the best and the toilets were disgusting. Definitely not worth another visit.

Estaba visitando Bath hoy por primera vez en años y fuimos a Caff Nero para tomar un rápido impulso de cafeína antes de ir a nuestro hotel. La chica detrás del mostrador era brillante. Siempre me ha gustado Caff Nero, pero me han sorprendido bastante las ramas de Bath. Su comida y café siguen siendo muy buenos, pero las instalaciones no solo necesitan una reforma, están sucias y no hay absolutamente ninguna excusa para eso. Los baños son una vergüenza: una vez que salí de las instalaciones, en realidad usé mi desinfectante de manos que llevo para emergencias. Afortunadamente, mi local en casa está a años luz de estos en términos de limpieza. El personal es excelente, pero la gerencia necesita una llamada de atención.

Lovely fragrant tea. Staff are positive and friendly especially the manager Ntinos - extremely nice yet professional. Nice cafe to sit and relax in. Very clean and tidy with a large range of delicious food to choose from!

Popped in for a quick refreshment after the Bath Roman bath tour. The seating area, service, and drinks are all fine. But the toilets are grotty and unpleasant. I wouldn't normally review a coffee bar, but they were quite bad. I probably won't return.

Went in, was given cups in takeaway cups even though sitting in. There was not ONE clean table in the whole place. We had to make do with one by the toilet because all others hadnt been cleaned. Very conveniently situated opposite the Market and next to the old passages, this is a perfectly OK cafe. Service was reasonably quick, despite the poor girl behind the counter having to do everything herself, and our tea and cake was fine.

This place is very dirty There are stains on the tables stains on the chairs and stains on the floor. The toilets are also not clean. It needs a complete refurbishment. I think you could easily catch something.

Both the English Breakfast & Earl Grey Tea were not very nice. Whether the water was not fresh I don't know but it just tasted yucky. The toilets were an absolute disgrace. The staff were totally not on the ball. Avoid like the plague.

Perfectamente bien y prácticamente idéntico a cualquier otro Caffe Nero en el planeta. Hay (al menos) tres en Bath solo. Es una cadena, ocupada, de buena calidad. Si te gusta Caffe Nero, te gustará esto, y lo hago.

Mi compañero y yo aparecimos antes del trabajo una mañana. Encontramos toda nuestra visita muy agradable. El personal era servicial y atento, en el momento en que éramos los únicos. Las bebidas se hicieron rápidamente y se presentaron bien.

Seriously although this place had a refit about a year ago I don’t think it’s been cleaned since. Had a coffee and sat upstairs today and you could almost scuff the dirt off the floor with your feet! The toilets are the worse in Bath and I had to use tissue to unlock the door. The pastries are also uncooked - very poor, go else where as there are plenty of place in Bath that does better coffee and is cleaner.

Well, what can one say?The tea in this coffee shop was tastier than their coffee!!And, the loos were horrible-it was quiet when we went there so really no excuse for a lack of loo paper and skanky loos!!

I really like the coffee in Cafe Nero and the High Street Bath is as good as the rest. What I fail to understand is how Cafe Nero have allowed this one to get so grubby. Please head office go there look at the walls, floors, tables BUT especially go upstairs to the toilets.

Que venga al café Nero por el guildhall dos o tres veces a la semana. No sólo uno de ellos recuerda regularmente mi orden, pero todos han hecho un esfuerzo para llegar a conocer a mí mejor desde que empecé a ir en más regularmente. Ellos van más allá para hacer que mi experiencia allí, bueno cada vez. Todos son personal encantador y talentoso y continuaré a volver y tener un buen tiempo!

We often stop here for coffee as we did last week when one of us had an appointment at the Mineral Hospital. We had a coffee before the appointment and met up there for another coffee after. It was a bright day and we sat outside watching people enjoying themselves many of which were foreigners. On our second visit the sun had gone in so we sat inside. We were able to take our dog in which surprised me but we were grateful as it was getting cold and we were able to enjoy the delicious blueberry muffins.

Today I went into one of your coffee shops in Bath (the one opposite the bus station )... only to be insulted by one of your male members of staff... Not coffee with a smile ...it's coffee with an insult in Bath.It's not the first time but it's the last ...as much as I enjoy your coffee... Needed a caffeine boost so on my sisters recommendation dropped in to the Caffè Nero near the train station. Baristas were polite, professional and well humoured and the coffees were properly made and very good.

Nice cosy atmosphere, plenty of seats up stairs though if you have a pram only limited space downstairs. Toilets are a little small and could do with better cleaning but not awful. Good coffee and quick friendly service

Here as a visitor to Bath. I have to say that this is one of the best chain coffee shops I've visited. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Service was speedy both for a drink and for food. Nicely laid out. Only large communal table which is different. More space than you'd imagine. Best in Bath and much wider afield.

I went there tired of never enough ng crowds at Christmas market, hoping for a coffee or tea and a place to sit. It was really crowded inside (well, that was something to expect), the staff was doing their best to prepare all orders. Sadly, they were too busy to clean the place - it was quite disgusting, the tables were dirty, the toilets were a disaster.

We generally like Cafe Nero cafes but this one is by far our favourite. Staff were very busy but brilliant! Masses of fantastic seating areas both on the ground floor and upstairs, which is split level. Lots of little nooks which makes it feel very personal and private. I also consider Cafe Nero coffee to be the best of the chained coffee houses. Simply doesn't feel like a chained cafe house. We re-visited a second day and the guy behind the counter remembered our order (both food & drink) perfectly! Possibly the best cafe house we have visited!!!

After walking around a cold Christmas Market,we decided to come here for a warm and some coffee. Lovely and quaint inside with great staff. The coffees were delicious, with generous amounts of cream and marshmallows. A lovely way to warm up.

Had a great visit today. Friendly helpful staff, quick service, great coffee.Shabby chic interior. Relaxing upstairs area, with large variety of comfortable seating, and a large range of books and newspapers. Chairs well spaced, not crammed in.Only downside? Toilets not great.

We arrived at 20 minutes before closing time as we failed to get served at Patisserie Valerie. The experience here was amazing, the staff were so friendly, helpful and the drink and snack were spot on. Such a nice experience and exactly what you want. I stopped in here for a drink and snack (tuna and mozzarella panini - so yummy!) before a busy day in Bath. The man serving me was very friendly and the cafe was nice and clean too.

A subjective view perhaps, but Caffé Nero makes the best coffee you can purchase in Bath. The shabby chic appearance of the upstairs area adds to the enjoyment of visiting this coffee bar, a long term favourite of mine and my wife's that takes the chore out of shopping trips into Bath.

After a lot of walking needed a pit stop and we stopped here for coffee and cake!! New carrot cake is divine and went well with the coffee!! We felt downstairs was dark but upstairs is much nicer with nice seating and lighter atmosphere.

We just needed a place to cool down, relax for a moment and get a nice cup of coffee. We generally like Cafe Nero, so this was a good pick we thought. And we were not disappointed! It is such a lovely quaint coffee shop - although part of a chain, it certainly has its very unique charm. Make sure you go upstairs too, as it is lovely and very spacious.
