Caffè Nero in Newport

Visited today as our favourite coffee shop.a huge thank you to leila and Harrison for spending time with us .fab coffee x

Normally when visiting Newport for training at the velodrome I stop at another coffee house but for the last few weeks the training sessions have been earlier, and the normal place has been shut. The staff have been pleasant, and the coffee was nice… I did have a toasted teacake with jam on one occasion, but the jam was far to sugary… Next week I think we'll try the place next door and see how that is, but all in all a reasonable place for a coffee and I would go back. Some of my reviews may seem unforgiving but I come from a time when everything was not “Awesome” and “near enough was not good enough”. So, if I say something is “Excellent” that is because it is somewhere better than most others… and well worth considering visiting. Dirty, dirty, dirty, flies everywhere! Flies on the pastries, on the counters where food are warmed and in the general café area. Cups and trays littering the tables. And very short and rude staff.

I was so shocked how dirty this place was! The ladies toilets are filthy and the floors in the Cafe look like they’ve not been swept in a long time!

Queuing for ages, tables littered with dirty cups and plates and staff walking passed them not clearing them and working in ‘slow mo’, losing the company money hand over fist and the only thing successfully delivering is poor service.

What have u done with yr coffee? Was using this Nero quite often but since the coffee changed,,no more, tried using a different branch but still yuck. Now Coffee no.1 my favourite
