Caffe Nero in Birmingham

Use this cafe quite often - drinks, cakes and service are not an issue. However, on this occasion, a floor spillage was mopped up and the paper towels used were discarded. The girl immediately went on to handle clean cups and glasses ( holding them with her fingers inside ! ), also handling knives along the cutting end. Absolutely no attempt to wash her hands and no sign of disposable gloves. Looking round, some other girls were likewise paying little attention to hygiene. Come on Cafe Nero, get your act together so we can continue to use it.

I always use this cafe and would recommend however today only 2 girls on both with long hair. The one constantly touching and flicking behind ear. Surely in a food place long hair should always be tied back? Still 4 stars as a great place to visit.

I come here often for a cappuccino coffee and whilst most of the time it is good, sometimes it is too frothy with not enough milk, other times it taste more like latte. Also, the consistency of temperature is variable.

I normally love Caffé Nero but this was a disappointing experience. Server messed up my order and I ended up with the wrong drink. Only realised afterwards and the place was so busy, I couldn’t be bothered to complain. Much better to do some passive aggressive complaining on here. Cinnamon swirl was still top notch though.

Tried here as a change from Costa coffee, which were quite rude on our last visit in Mere Green. Where their coffee was undrinkable and just looked like hot milk. Anyway enjoyed our toasted sandwiches at Nero especially the cheese and mushroom one and cheese and tomato was very nice too. Pleasant staff, asked for extra hot lattes and that’s what we got, unlike Costa. Could do with a bit of a clean up as nothing is getting swept from under the tables, just a quick wipe on the top. Hubby visited toilet and said that could have done with a good scrub too and seat needed fixing.. Not rocket science ! But will visit again when shopping local.

Dream team baristas that work in the week at lunch time! Always speedy and perfect coffee! Super friendly and happy to chat to.

My husband and I ordered a mocha & hazelnut latte from Cafe Nero in Sutton Coldfield but they both weren’t drinkable. The mocha looked like a lukewarm cup of tea (in fact, we couldn’t work out what it was as it didn’t taste like coffee, chocolate or tea) and the latte tasted like watery syrup. No froth or coffee by the looks & taste of them. 100% don’t recommend

Nice Hot chocolate. Carrot cake was really good. Staff were friendly. Only had skimmed milk but no problem, was still nice

Great place to rest and get good coffee. The staff are welcoming and good music was playing. A good atmosphere. You can sit here , watch the world go by, relax and the read the newspaper they have.

1550 today I went in for a Chai Latte there were 4 couples in front of me and it took 15 mins to get served (I am sure if the time as text my wife when joined the queue and checked when I had paid). There were two people serving one was a trainee the person who served me took the order, made the drink and took payment. Unlike other similar coffee houses who have a barista making the drinks constantly. Next time I’ll go over the road to Coffee #1.

Popped in for a tea - nice tea. Good service. Super efficient multi tasking lead barista on duty this morning. Great service.

Popular coffee shop in the Gracechurch centre on The Parade. Outside seating in fine weather. Friendly staff, good coffee choices and nice cakes! Just wish the interior was more spacious as it can get very busy.

Catch up with friends,nice food I had cheese n tomato toastie and my wife had chicken and bacon salad,both had tea which was also good,staff ok and clean place too!

I've been going to this cafe for sometime and whenever I go here the service is always friendly and swift. The choice of drinks and food is brilliant and is always served with a smile. Being a chain the prices are set but are reasonable. The atmosphere is always chilled and you're able to relax.

Love it , meet family here twice a month , end up munching on fruit toast aswel ! Comfy cosy and relaxing to drink ur coffee and have a good catchup with people ! Will always come here

Nice coffee and the choce of something sweet to eat with it was great. Maybe they could put a ciabetic friendly cake on , eg a carrot cake using carrots as the sweetener and wholemeal flour.

I find myself writing as a disappointed customer who has repeatedly visited Cafe Nero in Sutton Coldfield in the hope that my bad experiences will be found as a “one off”. I visit the store almost weekly and I almost always find myself disappointed with the customer service skills of the staff (who seem incapable of getting my order right) , length of wait in the queue (20 mins when there are only a few people in front of me) and also the general attitude of the staff whilst I am there. Only today I visited the store and ordered two hot chocolate milanos without cream and two porridges. My request was met with a very curt “we’ve got no porridge” to which I found myself ordering a chocolate brownie and a teacake instead. When the hot chocolates arrived they were both topped with cream and to my dismay my tea cake took 12 minutes before it was acknowledged that “the timer hadn’t gone off” and I would have to wait a “few more minutes”. When the teacake arrived it was almost cold and really quite unappetising. This was just my experience today, as previously mentioned I have a similar experience almost every time and it has left me very frustrated and thinking of not coming again. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone unfortunately!

This is where I usually go when I meet friends. Yes, it is a chain and I would rather support independents.Everything is pretty good, the staff are always friendly and helpful even when the queue is long they don't get flustered. The coffee is reasonable.The cakes and snacks are all reasonable, not much choice for those wanting to avoid SUGAR/CARBS, let alone gluten or dairy. This is an area that should be improved.There are plenty of tables/chairs both inside and out.As in most cafes the table clearing not a priority :(

Changing buses in Sutton Coldfield during a photography day out - walked in for a coffee and got good service and a good coffee. Place was clean and tidy - looked like very young manageress sitting in a corner - she could have smiled - otherwise no problems

We went into Cafe Nero in Sutton previously and had a great experience. However we went in to today and were left feeling very disappointed as the customer service approach was lacking, as was professionalism. Firstly the barista did not get our order correct, there was no receipt given at the point of sale and when I went back to ask for it the barista showed through her attitude that she was not happy. After checking the receipt we found that we had been charged for a drink that should of been free because loyalty points I earned.When I went back to point this out, the manager did give me my money back but I was disgusted at the way in which the barista was quite clearly talking about me and the manager was nodding and agreeing. When we approached the manager after wards the managers response was she was 'frustrated'. I would put it to the manager that if as an employee you become frustrated when a customer asks to be reimbursed for a drink they shouldn't have been charged for in the first place, that this is not a place I would recommend. Instead of apologising for their error, we were made to feel that it was our fault and I was told you should have shown the card at the beginning.Which is exactly what I did. I know that mistakes can be made and that was not at all the issue. The issue was the total lack of professional attitude and the way we were left feeling degraded as customers. This has not put me off Cafe Nero as we have never experienced anything like this before but we will never go the the Sutton branch again.

I was out shopping and decided to go into Nero as I wasn't that impressed with the other coffee shop over the way, drink was good but a few tables had empty cups and plates on,the young lady serving me seemed to be more interested in talking to someone ahead of me in the queue even though she wasn't serving them,I am a firm believer that you sort your customer first and chat to friends after,may give it another go sometime as none of the coffee shops in Sutton seem to have it "bang on"

Just been to Nero for a quick coffee. The place is so filthy! Tables have food crusted onto them, the floor looks like it needs a good scrub and the toilets are disgusting! I love Nero’s coffee, but I won’t be going back to that one again!

Decent choice of coffee and cakes and the outdoor seating is a bonus to watch the world go by. Friendly staff and efficient service - definitely better than some of the other coffee houses in the area.

The service sometimes lets it down but good outdoor seating areas and nice pastries as well as good coffee

Coffee shop in Sutton town centre with outdoor tables on a corner. There is considerable competition between coffee shops in Sutton and this one is not so good as the others. Not for the coffee - that's fine but the housekeeping needs some attention and there don't seem to be enough staff to manage it. Tables left uncleared for customers to do and toilets less than spotless. If things like that are left unattended to, what is the rest of it like that we can't see.

went in today for a coffee. it was nice. friendly people to and a nice place to sit in for a cuppa and a chat with the locals. will be back next time im in the area. plus a mini selection of snacks to buy to

I believe well behaved dogs should be allowed. After all, dog owners walking their pets like to stop for a coffee too and enjoy the experience and surroundings. It is just a matter of changing our culture to suit pet owners - 'a nation of dog lovers' I'm surprised it hasn't happened sooner so well done Cafe Nero!

Pleasant staff but run off their feet. No time to clear tables. Toilets always in a mess with the hand dryer not working and little toilet tissue and wet floor. Sorry going elsewhere In future,

We have been frequent visitors to the mere green Caffe Nero newly opened with no complaints until recently. It seems that they now allow dogs into their premises. We have never seen dogs in places where food is prepared and served until now (except guide dogs). The manager was unhelpful and said it was now policy to allow dogs inside. Further research informed me that it depended on the discretion of the manager at the time so you might or might not be confronted by dogs scratching around or sniffing under tables! Great. So from now on, no more Caffe Nero until they stop allowing dogs in.

Caffe Nero is on the corner of the Gracechurch Centre and The Parade in Sutton Coldfield and is a very busy coffee shop. It has some outdoor tables, usually frequented by smokers and a very busy interior. Service is friendly and helpful, though one gets the impression they need more staff to keep the tables clean - often I have had to clear away the remains of the last occupant's drinks. Coffee is good - up to the usual standards of this chain and prices 'average' for a cafe of this kind.
