Caffe Nero in Chichester

I have been a regular visitor to the North Street, Chichester Cafe Nero - for business discussions, a quiet spot to work, etc. However, unless the current staff are trained not to shout their private life discussions across the cafe, I shall not be returning. The previous staff here have always been helpful, discreet and efficient. Today's visit was very disappointing.

We visited Cafe Nero in North Street, Chichester for a snack. Seating is available both inside and out, but only two tables are available outside. There are quite large amount of seating inside. The usual Cafe Nero selection of sandwiches and other hot snacks, were available and all well presented. My cup of tea however was was pretty awful, weak with a strange taste. The cafe premises were kept clean.

Visited the city today and wanted a quick lunch so popped into our favourite chain. Plenty of space and separated tables plus the obligatory hand sanitizer. Took a while to pay as my Caffè Nero app wasn’t working but all sorted in the end. We had a tuna melt and a ham & cheese croissant which were both very nice. Two hot chocs too. Always a fan of Nero.

I was disgusted that one of my favourite coffee houses has replaced ceramic cups with non recyclable disposable cups. When I asked to use my own cup I was told no, because of Covid. I will not use disposable cups so I took my custom elsewhere to a coffee shop that is using ceramic cups and are able to fill my reusable cup in spite of the pandemic. Very disappointed.

Having tried a few independent cafe's recently, I decided to revert back to our old favourite. Their espresso is just right for temperature, depth of flavour - without the accompanying acidity that some independents offer - and of course service. Priceless!

Nice space with variety of seating. Food is tasty eg Sicilian lemon cheesecake and cheese twists when they have them

The team are lovely, warm and welcoming. The dog thinks it is his home and stands outside late at night waiting to get in. The cortado's are perfect, time after time. A great little coffee.

First time in Chi for a while and noticed that whilst the Patisserie Valerie is no more a second Cafe Nero has spring up just up the street. Roomier than the one in east street but still pretty busy. We had two hot chocs and a tea which were nice and hot. Finding a table was ok but it always amazes me when one person sits themselves in an area that will sit five! A good new Nero addition though.

Atmosphère calme et détendue, serveur hyper disponible, gamme de café variée. Rien à redire sur ce café .

Had an Americano with hot mik. I was told it was double shot as standard. It definitely needed to be least triple shot. It was fine though and I grabbed a window seat to play my favourite people watching game.

My daughter and I have brunch there on Saturday mornings and are served with a large smile. The staff fulfil our order carefully and bring my daughter's favourite toasted sandwich as well as the delightful cappuccino cake to the table. Nice people.

Yes it's newer, but streets ahead of the branch in East Street. Does Chichester NEED two branches? There must be 50 cafes in the city, indeed there is one (an independent, one off?) right next door.Good service, light and airy (again compare East Street). A pretty fine macchiato. My test for any cafe. My wife risked a cappuccino which actually tasted of coffee! They are so often very milky, almost as bad as a latte. (I think latte s were designed for those who don't actually like coffee, but cannot quite bring themselves to be seen out drinking a glass of milk).The Belgian cheesecake was an indulgence, but rather good, and again not too sweet.And rounded off with some artistically fuzzy photographs of the world outside.As with most cafes, sadly, there never seem to be enough staff to keep the tables clear of dirty crockery. It really presents the wrong image. Apart from that, recommended.Hayling Seagoon

A comfortable and relaxing cafe. Nicely furbished with really friendly staff. Coffee always great and I never feel rushed. Highly recommended.

It's located between lots of shops, near the cathedral. I drank the winter edition flavored coffee, and it was way better than starbucks coffee! Enough roasted, nice blending flavors, really feeling the christmas spirit. The atmosphere is friendly and cosy, and also, I think it is pet friendly.The staff is very well organized and prepared, always smiling and professional. Also, do try the cheesecake or the carrot cake ;) Overall, a coffee experience worth having!

Met my son for lunch. Drinks-latte and hot chocolate ok. The cake was expensive and dry! Service ok...bit slow. Won’t bother again. Nothing to write home about I’m afraid.

This is a much better alternative to the original Nero in East Street which is really grubby. By comparison this new offering is clean and spacious. Much better.

Visited twice since this Nero store opened in March and what a fantastic shop it is!
