Big thanks to Jamie who was wonderful not only with me but also with my little one. Knew my order without even being told and added a little extra for my little one 🥰

Unfortunately baristas are rude and every time I have been in there they have made the wrong drink or not bothered to heat the milk up before adding it to the coffee so the coffee is lukewarm at best. Go to St. Mary's place instead, so much better!

Stood in the queue, waiting to place our order for our drinks and noticed that one of the brass pendant lamps over the counter was covered in a relatively thick layer of dust. Looked around and noticed that, pretty much everything on and behind the counter was also covered in dust. The very obvious cobwebs in one of the counter displays pretty much inspired us to leave the queue and go elsewhere. Didn't see a great deal of acknowledged food hygiene practice being demonstrated either. It's a mess. If you're charging ultra premium prices, (£3.70 for a doughnut), at least make the place half-decent for people to feel comfortable with what they're getting and what they're paying for. Avoid.

Wanted to go in for a sit down coffee at about 5:50pm, despite the closing time on the door saying they close at 6pm, there were still a lot of people sat down so I thought I’d go and ask about the closing time in case it was out of date or changed. Instead of giving me a straight answer the male staff behind the counter with the long hair thought it would be funny to make a cocky comment about the closing time on the door. Quite shocked at his reply. Very cheeky!

I visited this place few times and every time is getting worse. It doesn’t deserve not even one star. Staff who take orders is completely rubbish. Won’t be back.

Usually cafe Nero is a lovely place to have a coffee but the women working today had no smiles or warm welcomes. A man before me had picked the wrong panini and it had been cooked, he brought it back to ask if he could swap it an the woman who did was not very nice. She took it away and just said out loud ‘right we’ll this will have to go on wastage’ as if to make the customer feel bad. She then came back to make the new one and was huffing and puffing so the customer could tell that she wasn’t happy. No sorry or anything. Three stars because I then sat upstairs and there was some lovely classical music on that I could do my work to. Overall, lovely coffee shop but not very welcoming staff.

I have been to the coffee with my kids and ordered caks, chocolates and drinks. When I asked for a tissues papers I was just given a one small piece. I told the staff that we are a group not just one with two children and I would need extra pieces of tissue papers and she said that she can only give one. I have then requested her again that one piece is not enough for all of us then she agreed and gave me few more, but she made me feel like I am begging from her. Are we all suppose to share the same single tissue paper or what!!!. Nero you can always save little moneyfrom tissue papers but you will loose customers who pay for it.

Popped in with the wife for a quick coffee the other day. Normally choose other brands but we liked the location of this one. There was plenty of seating available, albeit the space could be much better-utilised, and service was decent. It was a busy shopping day. Call me old fashioned but should people not be tying their multi-coloured hair up and taping piercings down so my wife isn't drinking hair and bits of tacky jewellery in her festive cappuccino?! Also I understand equal opportunities and all that, but one of the 'glass collectors' or 'Trainee Barista' staff looked like they came off the last zombie train and couldn’t run a bath let alone conjure a coffee. For a classy outlet in a really popular location and with great products might I add (lovely Blueberry muffin), I think the current staff presentation attracts the types of people I try and avoid thus pushing away people like me, for the better or worse to each preference of course. Otherwise lovely views, decent decor, love the books available to read, hate people with laptops hogging whole tables nursing drinks for hours for free wi-fi no doubt and standard price and variety.

I love Caffè Nero! I love the coffee and food! I do not like this store or the staff here! Not only are they all miserable and moody, incredibly impolite and rude, racist and homophobic (the things they say when there is a large queue in front of them), but also the manager hates the customers. She once told me to; ‘Hurry and pay so you can f- off.’ I asked her name so I could report her but she only replied with a boastful fact that her manager, I assume is the Area Manager, kisses her butt so nothing will come of it. Avoid this store at all costs!!

Went for coffee with a friend and waited 15 mins to be served as only one team member (male) serving guests as one member of staff cleared tables the other cleaned a coffee machine and a team member who had finished helped her self to a coffee then left and the line of customers was out the door not once did any other members off staff bothered to help the male staff member. Also no apology for the wait. Good job I was not in a rush.

Nice venue and one of the few places that can actually make a macchiato. Pleasant staff too. Great to watch the world go by

Service was prompt and even though it was fairly busy, the staff were keeping the tables clean and free of litter. Excellent comfy seats and great views. (only damper was that my croissant had a thumb-shaped imprint on it, possibly from being placed in the stand. slightly off-putting)

Quickest Nero service I've been to. Good coffee and plenary of seating - unlike some of the other coffee shops in Newcastle. Clean toilets. Staff friendly.

Have visited various branches of Caffè Nero but was not impressed with this new branch. Downstairs was very busy, not enough seating. Big quee at counter followed by steep stairs when carrying trays. Will continue to use Caffè Nero as they are good for food and drink but not keen on this branch.

This branch of Nero is one of the nicest I have been in - and I have sampled many. It is a large, light, airy shop and the staff are extremely friendly. One can sit in comfort enjoying first class coffee or one of the various other drinks on offer whilst enjoying watching the busy world of Eldon Square walking by. The caffe has the usual range of cakes, pastries etc on offer and prices are what you would expect in a coffee chain of this kind. The store is extremely conveniently located for shoppers in Northumberland Street and Eldon Square.

Coffee time agin, and we head for the familiar destination. A good range of slices, a friendly greeting, good hot drinks to order. We venture upstairs where there is a large comfortable area with tables and chairs, but also lounge seating. It is quiet and restful. There is quite a library of books up here, and also the expected pictures of Italy. An Italian firm promoting their homeland?

After 1:30h of waiting for our jacket potato salad box, it eventually came. For our surprise it cost £22 for two boxes, when the woman of the phone said it was £6 for each box. Jacket potato came cold. Won’t be ordering from here again

As this is in the airside terminal at Newcastle Airport. Service was quick, but unfortunately they still use disposable cups. I would much prefer non disposable, but I guess its a bit hypocritical to claim the climate while waiting to board a plane. Coffee is fine, prices, given the location, is fine too.

Not bad for what you’d expect from Tesco cafe. Decent enough but the cooked breakfast was quite cold.
