Place needs a good clean, coffee was burnt, overall a pretty poor experience.

Long opening hours, Nice atmosphere, Good chain coffee with a wide selection of food, Friendly staff.

Often stop here for a coffee if we are in town, dog friendly and nice atmosphere, good choice of cakes and snacks 😋

Lovely little coffee shop and very relaxing

Popped in for a quick coffee early this morning as the Waitrose cafe wasn’t open. This place is ideally situated. We ordered a latte and tea. The floors were dirty by the counter, under the tables were dirty. I used the loo, floor was dirty in there too. Shame, the coffee was really good, but we wiped our feet on the way out.

Walked in and walked out again! Dogs lying on chairs on a rainy day ! Dogs welcome yes , fair enough but keep them on the floor!!!!

In need of refurbishment looking tired and old.

Good coffee although service was rather slow. Didn't try the food as I only wanted a hot drink.

Ordered an Oat Milk Iced Latte and slice of Sticky Toffee Cheesecake. Both were very nice and would order again, even though the cheesecake was on the small side. Queue moved quickly and staff were friendly and efficient. Tables were cleaned in-between customers and the overall cafe was clean and tidy.

My husband and I really enjoy Neros’ coffee and cakes. What we don’t enjoy are the numerous dogs whose jaws/mouths are usually at table-top level. The other day a couple allowed their dog to sit in an upholstered chair and when they left it was covered in dog hairs! The staff are usually very friendly despite being rushed off their feet but in consequence the tables look grubby and the floors filthy. A shame as the coffee and food are great.

This place is hit and miss, some days the coffee is good some days not and the same goes for service, the staff are mostly lovely but over worked. It's very busy often has long queues but the one consistent is that the place is in desperate need of an over haul. Worn out chairs, stained that need reupholstering, grunge in the corners of the floor. It needs to close for a deep clean whilst sending the staff on a well earned all expenses paid holiday.

The atmosphere a colleague created was by far the worst I have seen, a trainee barista subjected to belittling behaviour in front of customers. Clearly this colleague should have chosen to stay away from work on this Sunday morning.

Probably my fave local coffee shop, great coffee, very helpful & friendly staff, & dog friendly/welcoming too.

Very nice staff and good atmosphere; background music is great. Dog friendly. Plenty of outdoor seating. Good position for a cuppa and cake while out and about in Cowbridge. Now offering fine foodfayre from the M&S range of delectables alongside the usual delectable selectables. Link your Waitrose card to the Nero app fir some extra little benefits.

Full of dogs, surely with the dogs being in the press for attacking people the last place you would expect them in in a cafe. Not everyone is a dog lover.

Terrible service at this Nero’s. Numerous issues - not listening to the order, serving the wrong items, overcharging for items (and acknowledging it, but claiming the system won’t allow it to be cancelled or reversed!), and not including extras requested, despite telling us they have. Absolutely awful service. There’s plenty of other coffee shops in Cowbridge, I’d recommend you visit one of them.

Shortages of promotional products make the place a bit difficult to rate higher.

Coffee was lovely as always, however, I wish there was a ban on smoking outside a café as well as inside.

For the last few months this coffee shop has really been badly run, long queues, poor service, dirty and tables stacked high with dirty cutlery. However we visited today and it was a revelation, inside was full, yet a very short queue. The staff were cheerful and polite and most of all the toilet was cleaner than I've seen it in years. I'm hoping we have a new manager because it's a massive improvement.

They need to teach the kids who work there that it's rude to turn your back on a customer and start making the next person's coffee while you are paying. No sign of a thanks. I made the point of asking the young girl who who turned her back on me if my payment had gone through. It's not really even a case of training, it's just bad manners and bad attitude. Never go to Nero again, especially that one.

Twice in the last week we visited Cafe Nero Cowbridge, we were greeted by the trainee barista Cisy who attended to our needs perfectly . It was a joy to be greeted and served by her, coffee was exceptional and she was just a delight more than I can say about others ..

Nice coffee shop, but waiting times to get served are ridiculous on the weekend. I've joined the queue many times, and after waiting and waiting, I've just walked out and bought a coffee and cake in town instead. Lovely high ceilings in the seating area and nicely decorated so it feels open and airy.

The staff are always lovely, but they are quite often short staffed, meaning they are clearly flat out and the queue can get tediously long, and sometimes tables need clearing for a bit too long. They play excellent background music not crashy bangy pop rubbish, making a nice relaxing atmosphere. The coffee is just about perfect. They use quality alternative milks - soya, oat, coconut etc, which some competitors have tended to save pennies on by getting cheap stuff in. Not the cheapest place to have coffee, but definitely the best.

Brilliant... friendly helpful staff

From front door to service took twenty five minutes. It does need to be a little faster, two staff inadequate for the volume of buisness . Toilets need attention too . Having said all of that the coffee was superb..

I like the atmosphere at this Caffe Nero. The staff clean tables after customers leave - pretty quick considering there's not many staff there for such a busy place. The service can be slow sometimes, but that's when people want the more complex orders, not the staff's fault. Clean, tidy, comfortable, good background music. Not cheap, but you can't have it all.

Slow service, overcharged, no apology. Generally rude staff. Won't bother going there again.

Visited Caffe Nero Cowbridge 15th February only to be greeted abruptly yet again by Claire M Staff member. I ordered my first coffee a skinny latte for my mother, then to follow ordered a Caramel Latte (which may I add I didn't get) & 2 pieces of cake only to have ClaireM roll her eyes directly at me then turn and tut. The attitude was aggressive and argumentative and made me feel immensely unwelcomed. I expressed my dismay at her rolling her eyes at me and said there was absolutely no need for the behaviour, only to be barked at "well we are busy". I said retrospect of whether you are busy or not there was absolutely no need for the rudeness. (THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME EITHER) The shop had 5 couples in there max and 2 people queuing behind me. Had I not already paid for my items, I would have just walked out and gone to Costa Coffee 10 steps around the corner. ClaireM then came out from behind the counter to collect cups etc throwing them into a bucket loudly, quite frankly I am surprised you have any left and customers at that with that behaviour. Let's just say I could not drink my coffee and eat my cake fast enough and leave. The young man serving alongside her was pleasant and friendly and greeted the customers the way they should be. AVOID THIS STORE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE DIRT UNDER THIS INDIVIDUALS SHOES!! SORRY NEROS YOU HAVE LOST MY CUSTOM NOW!

Some great staff, but some not so great. Often give this place another chance and often find myself waiting to be served while they chat and gossip and do everything except acknowledge customers.

Lovely coffee, also the YOUNG MEN PARTICULARLY know how to look after the customers well!!!! SO NICE THAT DOGS ARE WELCOME, ALL ADDS TO THE RELAXING ATMOSPHERE

Good service, but very dirty and smells of dirty wet mops

There is plenty of parking just outside the door and anywhere in the Waitrose carpark. Service was really fast with plenty of choice. We had coffee and cookies both of which were lovely. We also sat in the outside seating which has quite a few tables. Only negative point were that a lot of the outside tables hadn't been cleared.

Not enough staff. Long wait for service, server forgot my wife’s lunch which she had heated but forgot to bring over with the rest of the warm food or charge me for, had to go back again, whilst having my lunch to pay for it. The food was only half warm and my wife didn’t finish it. There was food all over the floor, dirty plates and trays everywhere. My sandwich was nice and our son enjoyed his brownie. This is the second time we’ve visited it was bad the first time too there won’t be a third visit.

Excellent service from two very hard working young boys. Very busy but very safe and well run. Lovely coffee and cake. Well worth a try.

Always a warm welcome from three female staff employed for long while, lattes tea cakes superb though past two Saturday visits lattes scour and heard another customer say the same, new staff on duty and too busy to wait and complain.

I couldn’t get over how downhill this place has gone. The furniture is positively dirty, with animal hair on most of the seats I sat on. Keep animals off the furniture and clean the place up. Shame because Nero coffee is good

The 2 ladies serving were fab...Just tried the new Salted Caramel Pistachio Frappe....delicious. Highly recommended.

It's a Caffè Nero with some tables outside. Staff are lovely. Nice cup of coffee.

A lovely atmosphere and coffee very nice. Not certain why customers are expected to queue at the till and no table service only, surely this is a legal requirement at the moment.

Love this coffee shop. The staff are always polite and the coffee nice and hot. It does get busy and sometimes the wait time is longer than average but the ladies are always apologetic.

Awful place, staff had a stinking attitude & we felt very unwelcome

Greeted with "hello my love" - ordered a coffee and the whole time it was being made the woman making it was turning around and talking to other member of staff. Ordered a Cortado which was like boiled milk - awful. Didn't bother going back to complain as she seemed like someone not to be messed with. This was Thursday 18th March 2021 approx. 2.15 pm Threw coffee

Always upbeat and friendly even through the hard times. Remember their regulars and always have time to chat while keeping busy. Hard working and great service. Keep up the good work guys and gals 👍

Love Caffe Nero. My local is Cowbridge however I will not visit there again. My husband and I have had a few bed experiences there during our last few visits. The older lady that served us (on both occasions) is very rude. We ordered a soya latte and a vegan cheesecake and she laughed at us. Very rude person. She then tried to correct herself by saying someone else had ordered one and it's supposed to be nice. Other staff member was a lad who was so busy talking to his colleague about his relationship troubles and charged us twice. Good coffee shop, awful staff.

Such a lovely warm welcoming place! Fabulous cappacino and toasted teacake. The staff were so helpful and happy - chatting to the customers as if they had known them for years! Absolutely adorable! In general all Covid regs in place. Regarding Track n Trace ,the assistant was slightly offhand,and assumed I was able to use the App. I hadn't downloaded that as I've not been to many cafes etc, and so she took a note of my name and phone number. But also there would be many people who wouldn't even know what that was, nevermind have downloaded it. Especially if people aren't that tech savvy. Thought it should be taken in a rather different way by explaining exactly what it was etc.In addition due to the Covid regs, my toastie was served in a paper bag,but there was no napkin with it ir any available to pick up. I used my own paper tissues.

Great place for a high quality beverage, staff always friendly in these tough times, I can imagine it’s very stressful being so busy and trying to work around all the different Covid restrictions.

Friendly staff, food nice if a bit expensive. But got nice seat outside in the sun, would definitely visit again 🙂

Could be cleaner especially in these times. Appreciate it is busy but maybe more staff are needed to wipe chairs and tables regularly. Bins were also overflowing so we couldn't tidy up after ourselves

Ordered a latte machiato, got a machiato. With social distancing and the noise of the machines they couldn't hear me properly nor me, them. Prefer Costa anyway.

With Coronavirus a real threat - surely better hygiene is called for in cafes. The waitress was very pleasant but careless in personal hygiene. She kept coughing into the palm of her bare hand. This is a dog friendly cafe and she coughed into her bare hands, did not have food gloves on. then stroked two dogs, and did NOT was her hands, she then continued to handle cups. Training must be stepped up on basic hygiene let alone Coronavirus threats considered. I tried to find an email to notify management for better training, to no avail. Ringing the telephone number would not resolve this issue as the waitress would likely take the call.

Love Cafe Nero in Cowbridge but come on guys do some clearing of tables and tidy up. On numerous occasions it has been a tip. Not what you want from a good quality coffeehouse. Prices have gone up and this is typical of places opposite a Waitrose.

Visited Caffè Nero cowbridge a few times in the last couple of weeks, every time I visit it’s gorgeous coffee, gorgeous cakes with plenty on offer, the staff are super friendly and welcoming. Rachel the manager has a beautiful shop and a beautiful team! Had a hot chocolate made by Abby tonight, and she accommodated to my pregnancy craving of chocolate perfectly by making it extra chocolatey! Can’t recommend this place enough 😍

Popped in for coffee and breakfast, always busy but a lovely atmosphere with great, friendly staff. Lovely flat white and banana and walnut bread a must. Love coming here.

I went to sit in a seat by the window and there were two upturned tables there which I went to make upright so me and my family could use them, only to have a very rude woman say 'No, no no no you can't do that, no' I felt like I was being told off by a teacher, she could have been much nicer about it and it really affected my visit to this place. Also it was incredibly hot inside and uncomfortable to stay in because it was so warm

Whilst waiting at the counter to order, a barista brought the bin back in..placed a new bag in it and without washing her hands continued to take my order and make our drinks. I didn't say anything to her as there were other people waiting. Unfortunately..i will not be using again.

Female server didn't seem to see me, was more interested in stocking up miniature jams somewhere. Seemed to see the gent next to me though.. strange that. Male barista excellent service and very polite

Good service and I loved the goats cheese and ham toastie.

Lovely place and dog friendly. Ate a gorgeous ciabatta with goats cheese and beetroot and salad. Sat outside in the Sun. Super friendly staff. Food is nicer than costa.
