Nice staff, shame about the food, we went for a Sunday Roast. The vegetarian offering was frozen Richmond sausages! I’m told the Beef was tough and gristly, the chicken ok apparently . The carrots were hard, the green beans squeaky, cauliflower cheese tasted of smoke, the broccoli and red cabbage were nice. The Yorkshire pudding was stone cold and one of us had a roast potato so hard that it was inedible. The staff were lovely and very apologetic and offered us 10% off but didn’t make up for the poor quality in general!

Had a lovely Sunday dinner with my wife and sister last week. The pub is now owned by new folk who are out to please and make this the best pub in the village. The food was great with really fresh veg. and large slices of perfectly cooked beef and chicken, with Yorkshire pud, perfect roast potatos and lots of rich gravy. Service was very attentive, getting us extra drinks as needed. We will definately be back.

We went a couple of weeks ago on the Saturday for a drink and the Sunday for a roast. The roast was absolutely lovely and too much of it- almost. Still made room for the dessert which was biscoff cheesecake and it's the best cheesecake that we've ever had. Service was fab too, highly recommend, thanks.

Went for a Sunday lunch with family. We ordered 3 roast beef dinners, one of which was a child's portion. The beef was cooked perfectly for us (some might like it cooked a little more), the vegetables, of which there were four including cauliflower cheese, were cooked al dente. As it was a two course meal we ordered our desserts from a choice of four (all homemade). The chocolate brownie with ice cream was to die for and the Biscoffi cheesecake was sublime. Well done to the team but a special thank you to the very talented patissier. You're amazing!

I would highly recommend this pub as the food was Amazing , tasted so good and didn’t have to wait long to be served , portions were great and all very nice ..staff very friendly and also pub was dog friendly …

Took my wife and Grandchildren here for Mother's Day and had the best Sunday Roast I have had in a long time. We eat out quite a lot but this was superb. I had the Lamb which was presented beautifully. Great choice of veg and Cauliflower Cheese was a dream. Great Value, wonderful service, good beers, good atmosphere. I was very impressed and to be honest surprised. Have paid a lot more money at the humble vegetable next door and this surpassed it. Will definitely be back. We'll done

My husband brought me to Cross Keys for Sunday roast on Mother's Day and I'm glad he did. This is our 1st time eating at the pub and it did not disappoint. The food was served hot and fresh and there was plenty of it and the price included dessert, which put it over the top for value. We will definitely return and we highly recommend.

Myself and a Group of friends go to watch the rugby, always a warm welcome,great food and lovely hosts.More than worth a visit for a great atmosphere and warm welcome 😀

Went for a Sunday lunch, food was amazing, Much better than Toby carvery and coopers carvery by culverhouse cross. Would 100% recommend. really generous with the portions, a ton of meat.

Family was invited for Sunday lunch today, food was absolutely gorgeous! Homemade Yorkshire puddings, fresh veg and Beef to die for 🫠 will most definitely be returning and will be first on our recommendation list! Well Done to the new owner 👏🏻

Staff were good. Service was good. Group of loud, obnoxious boys, smoking vapes, shouting football chants and being general a holes, whilst also putting so many chairs around their table next to us, firstly squashing us in, then causing myself and Mrs to have to move, made for a slightly uncomfortable atmosphere

OK. On international day (when Wales play England at egg chasing) barman attempted to charge me £33 for a Round of drinks when it should have been £23.;" oh I charged you for a large bottle of prosecco instead of a glass" No sorry. No apologies. Funny how this didn't happen to Welsh friends. Just the English people visiting.

This pub is now family run.I do not mind microwave food in a pub,you get what you pay for but all the Keys food is now home made and the place is now clean and sparkling Worth a try now if you were disappointed in the past.

First Sunday Lunch at the cross-keys won’t be the last. Lovely home made food, generous portions. Good selection of deserts. Staff tentative ensuring you have everything needed to enjoy your meal. Would recommend.

Been in better pubs , but not to bad

Stopped in for a G&t and what a great old school pub.

Called in for lunch. What a great find. The staff were really friendly. The food was freshly cooked and delicious. The deserts were homemade and seriously stunning. The owner was very attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. Prices were very reasonable. We will certainly be coming back for more.

Sooo glad to have found this little gem for an amazing Sunday Roast. The food was amazing, good sized portions, including cauliflower cheese and the homemade brownies. Would highly recommend and will be visiting again soon!

Great pub always has been had some great times there over the years

Ryan and Calum have transformed this place. We eat out at different pubs/restaurants every Sunday and this is one of the best Sunday dinners we have had. Service was impeccable too.

The food was cooked fine but the portions were tiny. Particularly the chicken. Never seen a chicken breast so small. The chicken burger was like a portion for a small child. Cheap processed cheese was used as well. The food is VERY overpriced,probably double what I would usually pay for the portions we had.

The chips are frozen not home made. They weren't at all nice. The BBQ chicken & bacon melt was much lacking, not enough sauce although more was provided when requested. There was hardly any cheese. Not the usual tasty dish I'm used to. My husband enjoyed the tikka although complained that the poppadoms were chewy. Thought it would be nicer as Dinas is such a lovely area but unfortunately not. Staff were accommodating, the waiting time however was a little long.

Great pub, beer is nice and there is a decent choice! Had some food too and it was excellent. Show all the football and have a few screens so can show 2 games at the same time. Jenny the barmaid is amazing as well, really friendly and very accommodating 😊

Friendly staff, hard to get served when busy. Did prefer when you could order on the app.

Had a light lunch there with family and it was very good. Nice and light now decor has changed and pleasant staff

Nice relaxing atmosphere and like the changes in the pub, under new management. Mum and I both had chicken tikka masala and fair play there was plenty of chicken and the chef, Josh was lovely and came out to check the food was ok. Mum has dexterity issues and he brought a dish to move her curry, chips and rice to, making it much easier for mum to eat her food.

This is a great local pub whether you're looking for a night out with friends or a family meal. The food and drinks are very reasonably priced, they have a great gin selection & the staff are always friendly.

Great real ales, come on CAMRA make a visit. Friendly staff always a good time. Regular customer, always my choice.

Great locals pub with several rooms so despite its small size there's always a table available. Seating outside too which is at the front of the pub and with it being just off the village square makes for a lovely setting. All in all the Cross Keys is a pub that's well worth a visit. Dog friendly too!

We visited this pub on a trip to Dina's Powys to see family and were welcomed instantly, we were treated so well by all of the staff. Our family and their friends even came down on another day to watch the rugby and were very impressed too. Great food, great drink, great prices and friendly locals. We would definitely visit again

Worst pie ever, no meat, just very dark brown mush which tasted awful and the texture of custard.

The team at The Cross Keys is impeccable, very friendly and understanding. They have made coming to the pub during COVID an easy and enjoyable experience. During my time at the cross keys I had excellent service from the staff. Mark, John and Ellis made me feel very welcomed and were a great bunch

Came here when restrictions were lifted last year, just a couple of pints outside on a sunny afternoon. Felt really safe, staff explained everything and were extremely helpful and attentive. Looking forward to visiting again maybe next week as outdoor hospitality is re-opened.

Difficult times at the moment but glad to see the team at the Cross Keys adhering to the rules. Allows you to go for a meal and a drink and remain safe. Relaxed atmosphere, great service and good food. Recommend a visit.

All staff are friendly And helpful in guiding you through the rules. The manager was really helpful in finishing us a table and making sure we were comfortable.

I was astounded to read the negative reviews regarding Ryan and his team. They are always extremely friendly, very professional, with very good service. Would certainly recommend a visit to this very friendly pub.

Needs a new manager. Barely working and when he is he is rude and very unprofessional. Very surprising he is in this trade.

Me and my wife have been regular visitors since the re-opening. Staff are incredible and are doing everything they can to keep themselves and everyone safe. However, the manager, I believe his name is Ryan is hardly ever there and when he is he is drinking with other customers, moving table to table (which I’m sure is putting everyone in danger now with the virus circulating) he is never working. His language is disgusting after he has had a few pints and I have noticed he isn’t very nice to his staff. Good job other staff members use their initiative and manage the pub.Would be nice to see a manager supporting staff through these difficult times and adhering to social distancing rules.

Busy and friendly pub in the centre of the village which shows sports. Went to watch the rugby there and an excellent variety of drinks available. Shame about the girl who insisted on blocking our view of the match just to make a point, not the pubs fault though. If you're in the area give it a try

All TV channels for sport (bt,sky and more!)... 2 high quality darts boards. Very friendly staff.
