An oasis in an otherwise dystopian urban jungle for breakfast, brunch and lunch - smoothies are excellent

Bacon, sausages and egg breakfast sandwich was tasty and the coffee there is the best.

Came across this cute little cafe next to manors station, lovely decor, staff are friendly & the food is delish. I arrived into Newcastle at an ungodly hour (8.30am ish) and had time to spare before I had to go to a meeting. When I arrived the kitchen wasn’t open yet but I ordered myself a hot chocolate and sat down. It was yummy. They do a few different kinds of hot chocolate too which is great. Then whilst I was enjoying the hot chocolate the lass told me the kitchen was open early so I could get food. I went with a bacon sarnie which at £6.50 it is on more the expensive side but it was a large one so I’m not complaining. The lass serving me was really nice and understanding that I do not do mornings 😂 I have been telling everyone since that this caffe exists and they need to go. I think it’s going to be a new meeting point for me.

Lovely place and nice atmosphere

Really tasty club sandwich, and the peppermint tea was lovely, too. The food came quick, and the girl who served me was very pleasant - she even gave me a take out cup for the rest of my tea as I was in a rush and didn't want to waste half a pot.

Friendly service, free WiFi and delicious milkshakes. What's not to like?

Overpriced. I have a serious lactose intolerance and was shocked to see I would have to pay an extra 60p for an alternative to milk pushing the price almost to Starbuck's level for a much smaller quantity. I consider this extra charge discriminatory. My partner's cappuccino was too strong and he had to ask for extra hot milk. The sweet potato fries were tasty but at that price I expected them to be sprinkled with gold dust. The price of the Cawston drinks was too high. There is no wheelchair access and no hand rail to help go up and down the steps.

I loved the cozy vibes and it is quiet enough to do some work. The fries were freshly made and the hot chocolate is amazing

Amazing little cafe right next to Manors metro station and the northumbria CCE building with a warm and welcoming atmosphere and decor having nice music at a perfect volume, fantastic service from the staff being very friendly chatty but not obstructive and some fantastic food with some of the best poached eggs ive had in a while. Absolutely recommend for a place to go with friends or a relaxing environment to do work in.

I think this is a great little cafe in a great little spot. Food was really tasty and the coffee was warming. Would recommend!

Absolutely lovely place. Lovely vibe, decor, food and staff. We aren’t from the area so took a shot on a ‘hidden gem’ and so glad we did. We brought the dog who was also welcomed and given treats. It was nice and quiet when we went which probably helped as it’s not a massive place. The food was fresh and tasty and the lovely Greek lady who was working was so sweet. Would absolutely recommend!

I loved this place. I was for one day in Newcastle and I was looking for a British breakfast and I saw this in maps. It’s a really lovely place, the owner is really friendly and helpful. They help you with the menu and the food is really really delicious.

Quality brunch and great service

Our dogs received such a friendly welcome that they’ll be dragging us through the door next time we’re in the neighbourhood. Great menu, enjoyed the breakfast brioche with some iced white mocha & a chocolate mint shake followed by a lovely sweet treat - everything was excellent. Can’t wait to visit again.

Amazing little cafe!! Gluten free options - absolutely delicious! Great service- they accommodated our family of 5 with varying dietary requirements with no issue, including remaking my dish after I missed an allergen in the ordering. Good coffee, relaxing and inviting space. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Newcastle.

Fantastic little spot, the avo on toast looked so appetising we had to have two, and it was delicious. The Hangover Cure smoothie and the Protein Shake were expertly mixed and presented. Honestly can't fault the cafe. Brilliant.

Absolutely fantastic little place. Right next to the metro station and a 5min walk from town, so super convenient. Popped in there for a coffee (ended up having two) and desperately need to go back to try some of the food, I saw a couple of tables getting full englishs and they looked incredible. As did the range of cakes of pastries which they were making themselves. The lady working at the time, Abbie, was an absolute gem and so lovely, and really made me feel welcome. Amazing place and amazing staff :)

Sweet little café in partnership with those in Jesmond and Gosforth. This one is quite small in comparison to the other two, and has a more limited menu than the Jesmond café but is conveniently located for Northumbria University and Manors Metro station. I went here for a date and had the avocado toast and was able to ask for it without eggs, and it was very tasty. It is also dog friendly and has free tap water to which you can help yourself.

Passed by this place many time and finally decided to come. Their menu is not complete, actually they have more types of teas than the ones listed from the menu. I ordered sencha and it is great, neither too strong nor too mild. Halloumi isn’t too bad but it is a bit chunky and hard to chew. Overall it is a cute place, good for having brunch or a cup of coffee or tea.

Really nice place, close to the centre with a local charm. Food was delicious and of high quality, clearly all made from scratch on the spot. Highly recommended if you like to support small independent businesses !

Delicious food and lovely service

I’m a local student and I just LOVE visiting this place! Whether I’m popping in for a smoothie on my own or a breakfast with my flatmates, I always enjoy coming here. The service is great, staff are just rays of sunshine! They do the best Avocado Toast I have ever had and I always look forward to visiting again. Keep doing what you’re doing guys ✨

Popped in on a nice sunny day for a cold coffee. Abbie our server sorted us out with 2 frappes (1hazelnut, 1 gingerbread). Sat next to the flower wall and had a really nice experience. Will be back.

It´s surely a fantastic place! Friendly staff, nice decoration and amazing food.

I've visited here a few times now, and the food is superb. The bread is to die for. I highly recommend: the Turkish Eggs, their sandwiches on toasted white bread (don't be thinking it's normal white 'plastic' bread, this stuff is amazing - thick, lightly toasted, chewy crusts), the hash browns, the berry smoothie, and their coffees. I haven't tried their cakes yet but I will eventually! The staff are always really friendly, they give off vibes that they really enjoy working there which is lovely to see. It's not cheap but you can see that in the quality of the ingredients, and it's worth every penny.

Beautiful environment, friendly staff. This rocky road cake is vegan and JUST £3.5 The carrot soup (£5.5) was amazing but the best part was the sourdough and the real, churned butter which was rich but light and creamy

First time visiting here and wow the inside and outside decor is lush, gives off American grease kinda vibes! Food was lovely and hot. Great quality and not badly priced, coffee was really good, and the service from the young lass was fantastic- nice to see someone actually really enjoy their job. Place was very clean and great atmosphere - will deffo be back again!

Amazing place with amazing food and atmosphere. We were helped by a really sweet and kind person named Abbie. She was so happy, chirpy and helpful as well. Would 100% reccommend going here it is a perfect place with great vibes and perfect food.

I love coffee in 1901 Cafe, it is lush to have with the chocolate tiffins. The atmosphere is uplifting and vibrant. It is lovely.

Had a nice little day in the 1901 it was just multiple pots of tea and sweet potato fries. Services was quick and efficient and my server always had a smile. Overall great Cafe!

Gorgeous little cafe, came to do some university work with my flat mates and wanted to try the chai latte, ask if syrup would go well with it and they suggested the ginger bread syrup and I’m glad they did! So lush and I would never of chose it otherwise, clearly these people know their coffees !! Would definitely recommend and will be returning

This an my favourite place to eat in Newcastle. It’s my happy place, where I am always greeted with a smile. Usually accompanied by my little pug, we always get a warm welcome from Abbie when we visit. She is friendly, professional and always accommodating. As for the food, I would recommended the brioche breakfast roll, it’s delicious! My pug would strongly suggest that your furry friend tries one of their sausages. All in al, this is a gorgeous cafe, with beautiful decor and a cosy vibe. Highly recommend!

Lovely! For a fair price, myself and my partner enjoyed a filling breakfast alongside a lovely coffee at Manors 1901. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was comfortable; we are already planning our next trip back :).

The food here is amazing. We had the most delicious club sandwich. The portion size was fantastic and Abbie who served us was so lovely. The fact that is is also dog friendly was a bonus too, our Labrador loved the complimentary dog treat. Will definitely be back.

Absolutely unreal breakfast, drinks were perfect and the staff is lovely highly recommended.

Ordered the vegetarian breakfast it was huge. Loads of tasty things including halloumi, beans and mushrooms along with vegetarian sausages just watch out for the baby tomatoes. Loved every bite just couldn’t finish the huge serving. Would definitely come back for more.

At first sight it might appear to be style over substance, but this is not the case. The staff are very friendly and it has a very pleasant atmosphere. I had the Eggs your way on sourdough. Massive doorstops of toast. Worth the £7.50 asking price.

Me and my husband came here for breakfast we had poached on toast which lovely 3 eggs and chunky bread toast definitely worth the £7.50 each.
