Best avocado smash on toast I’ve ever had….by far.

I am a regular patron. The staff are always friendly and helpful. They provide very good service. I like the food , especially the bacon sandwiches.

Coffee and food was lovely! Really friendly service, very welcoming and the cafe was well maintained and clean. Cake selection was great and very allergen friendly! Will definitely be back!

Decent, plenty space, but nothing special. Amazed at why you would bring food to someone's table and the table next to it is covered with dirty dishes but return to the kitchen empty handed. Counted 4 tables on leaving with dirty dishes and two service staff having a good chat behind the counter? And why give me a sausage bap full of nice sausages with two wraps of butter on the side of my plate? So to butter my bap I need to remove all the sausages?

The place was quite dead when we went and the staff were just ok. Not overly friendly but not rude but didn't not feel massively welcome if that makes sense. The atmosphere is ok but the metal chairs are super uncomfortable. Feels odd they have dog treats etc and water but you aren't allowed to bring dogs inside. So if you're alone with your dog, you can't actually go inside with your dog I guess to get a drink anyway unless you were to leave your dog alone. I had the breakfast brioche and was disappointed. Barely any sauce on it and the presentation was average. The portion size for £10 too wasn't brilliant. Did not enjoy using the toilets either they were dirty and smelly. Probably would not return in a hurry but may consider trying jesmond.

Here every weekend with kids as they do ballet in the church. They love their milkshakes. Really busy so often queues and loud depending what's happened in the church that day. Pricey but always a treat for the kids

Coffee was good. It was very busy mainly with mums and babies or young children. Staff were pleasant. Very clean

A lovely cafe with excellent cake! We host our bookclub her, once a month on a Sunday, it's a great location.

It was my first time to come to the place, as one of my best friends suggested that it was a nice place to grab a bite and chill - wasn't disappointed at all! The place had a cosy, homey feel. It was spacious, with ample seating, and it was well-lit - as it had so much natural light coming from the large windows all over! Breakfast and lunch menu selection was not a lot, but options were sufficient to cater to any palate. They also served a variety of sweet treats (near the till) to have with your coffee or tea if you just want to chill out. For the ordering process, the menus are set on the table, and you just order what you want at the till. They ask you where you are seated, and they bring the food over while you people watch and wait. 🥰 The food was served fresh, and piping hot! Today, I had the soup of the day - potato and leek soup - served with sourdough bread an butter on the side. It was *chef's kiss*! I also ordered a piece of carrot cake - heaven! My friend had the tuna melt sandwich, and she gave us a little to try, OMG. I can't explain how this visit made me so happy! I now have a new place to frequent whenever I am at the High Street! Update: The Potato and Leek soup and Tuna Melt are still as delicious as ever! Went to have something to eat last week with my husband after a GP appointment nearby and it honestly made us feel really warm and fuzzy and felt a lot better after a poorly week! It was my husband's first time there, and tasting your amazing Potato and Leek soup has made him a fan!

Limited menu in this branch. Fast service but not clean. Wouldn’t recommend this branch. Very overpriced felt like I should have went Costa across the road and saved money.bad quality food.

I found this cafe to be untidy, tables, cushions and throw over sofa were dirty. Also expensive. Won't be back

Lovely coffee latte and scone in relaxed friendly atmosphere

First time I've been here,I had lovely lunch with my 2 granddaughters.Food was very nice.

I had the vegan breakfast bánh mi. It was so yummy! The staff is very friendly. Travelling with a dog we took a table outside the cafe - then one of the waitresses came around with a treat for the dog! Lovely 💕!

Kinda grimy and run down when I last visited. I don't think some of the pictures on here are really representative of what it's like now, gives rec centre caf vibes. Lots of people with kids go here so it's not really a relaxing place if you don't have kids and you're looking for a chilled cup of coffee because it can be noisy and full of buggies. Also the ice cream we bought was really not good, the other food can be nice.

We came here for breakfast which was really nice. The avocado smash was so good and definitely worth the cost. We also got two coffees. The place itself looks a lot more spacious than it does from the outside. I definitely want to come back to try the cakes!

Visited this lovely Cafe twice on our recent trip to Newcastle. The first time late on a Saturday afternoon, the second, for breakfast on a Monday. Yes, they are open on a Monday. Food is great. It's a very popular place so a thirty minute wait for our breakfast, but it was worth it.

Food is incredible but staff are not, I asked for black Americano and got given a coffee with milk which is very annoying as I have an allergy, I drive all the way to the cafe to be told they are not serving food. Even though they don’t shut for a few hours.

The worst customers service I’ve ever experienced, I place an order and I’m sat waiting 30 minutes to be told when I go to collect the food that they don’t have what’s I’ve ordered. Staff are clueless and unprofessional and I won’t be returning to this cafe again. + get some lids for your takeout coffee cups.

Service was great. Food is generous , but it is rather on the pricey side.

Had a nice lunch here in this beautiful cafe. there is a lovely ornate column inside with stained glass which reminds me of sagrada familia Nice varied menu and good selection of drinks.i had the vegan banh mi which was generous and deliciously cooked.comes with salad. This meal and my fentimans lemonade came to around £13 which is fairly standard for this area. Nice place for a catch up. Lovely bright and airy inside. Nice ladies running the place. Some Spaces inside at lunch when we mid week in March

Nice food and drinks Prices a bit high but overall defo will be back.

Comfortable for a snack here. Not crowded usually. Have got a Kids menu too.

I didnt have food only coffee which was perfect. Staff were so helpful with our large group too. I went with a meetup group with the man himself Lee Ridley (lost voice guy), organising this. What a wonderful afternoon with people from many different background. Lee had plenty to say when he could get a word in but i think his comedy title needs to change on these meetups to the one finger typist lol i know i speak for everyone Lee when i say thank you for making our day. You are an amazing guy. Lee has a book out and a crazy audible podcast too. He is so busy all over the country. What a likable guy

Please note although they state dog friendly on their website we got informed that due to it being part of the church they aren't dog friendly. So cross as we had travelled some distance as it stated dog friendly.

Not a great experience. The menu is limited. My daughter is vegan and couldn't have the sandwich she wanted. She was told they had ran out of tofu the day before. She found something else to order. They told her to order it a certain way as it would work out cheaper. Unfortunately no one told the kitchen and the wrong food came to the table. I ordered a jacket potato with cheese and beans. When the waitress passed me my plate my hands got covered in the sauce from the beans that had been spilled onto the side of the plate. The potato was on the hard side and the beans had been watered down. I won't be visiting the cafe again.

Gorgeous cafe. Me and my Daughter called in on a Sunday afternoon. I had a lovely latte and a Scone. The Scone was delicious.

On Saturday morning I walked into the Caffe 1901 looking for some brunch. I went to the counter and asked the girl for a table, she said sit anywhere. I perused the menu, made my choice and waited to have my order taken. Just about every member of staff walked past me but not once did they ask me what I'd like to eat. After waiting 20 minutes I got up and left. It's shocking that serving staff aren't given any training in how to look after customers once they walk into their establishments. They must lose a lot of customers that way. Needless to say I won't be back.

We went there for lunch. Very limited menu but food ok. I had a baked potato and my husband had a cheese melt. What could you do wrong with them. However, we were still in covid measures and although the staff member took away the previous cups she did not clean the table and it was filthy. We had to call her over to to clean it. Also very busy, no thought about limiting numbers, I felt quite unsafe. I would not go back. There are better places to eat on gosforth high street

Amazing place. Staff spot on, very nice and friendly. Food and drinks are amazing. Particularly recommend the scones.

This place has had many changes of ownership and style.The present one is good. Scones very good. Clientele varies from 8 weeks to 80 years

Not a great experience. We kept it simple. A couple of breakfast butties. It was inedible. The sausage was bland and the egg so rubbery it would have survived a game of squash. This is what you get out of a microwave. The bread was over toasted and tasteless. The one star is for a half decent cup of coffee.

Stopped in for a drink and to hide from the rain while out shopping; ended up staying for lunch. Wonderful atmosphere, great one-way system, and delicious food. Thoroughly reccomend the chorizo club sandwich (pictured). Staff were friendly and helpful, all wore masks and I could see that every empty table had been recently wiped and sanitized. I'll be bringing my mother-in-law back here when she's in town, it's the perfect quaint little deli cafe!

Very good coffee and hearty sausage sandwich at outside tables. But, sadly, the sausages had those thick plasticy skins which human teeth are not designed to bite through. Change supplier and all will be well.

There is just enough seating outside for customers who don't want the takeaway option, but on a sunny Saturday morning it was busy and my friend and I had to wait for a table to become available. It was worth it. The tables and chairs are arranged in a sheltered corner against the church which is out of the wind but was in full sunlight. They are far enough from the road to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet while still feeling part of flow. I had a flat white coffee, which was good. My friend had a chocolate milkshake which she confirmed was one of the best she's had. She also had a sausage bap, which surpassed expectations since it contained no fewer than three good quality sausages, and came with grilled haloumi and some chilli jam as an extra. Good quality and a generous portion, so good value for money in our opinion. The staff were very busy, but were making sure that everyone felt looked after and valued.

Nice coffee shop, some vegan options, Does a really nice flat white. Lots of social distancing markers and hand sanitizer. Good for a grab and go coffee.

Lovely staff and excellent service and food

Overpriced, nothing in comparison to the 1901 Jesmond, disappointed with food, tasted like it was pre made and reheated, which for the price was not worth it. Staff were friendly.

Very poor,coffee was awful and the lunch was so small with tiny amount of salad no slaw but menu said with slaw ,I like this place and one in Jesmond but that's now twice I've been disappointed and it's not cheap ,it's ok for cake and tea but that's all ,it's s pity but I won't go back now anymore.U like to support independent places but still want nice food and drink and not be ripped of with cost .

Staff are super friendly Coffee is great. So often coffee is scalded and milk is too hot, but not here! Great berry booster shakes with almond or soya or oat milk too. It's a shame it's pretty chilly inside and a bit canteen like, but it's the best coffee on the high street.

Really lovely brunch! Sourdough bacon and avocado, yummy and a nice decaf latte, lots of yummy looking alternatives too. Quite a fair price for the amount of food you get. I will be back soon for more hot drinks and to try the cakes

I've been here numerous times and find that the staff are very helpful and really good food..... I also find that the cafe attracts good clientele 10 out of 10 in my book

Dogs only allowed outside unlike the Jesmond branch, the Jesmond one is much better
