So the sushi is amazing. Salmon sashimi was sooo tender it melts in your mouth! However my daughter doesn't eat sushi or spicy food (i know, why did we go there) so we ordered some non spicy chicken which we got 4 nuggets for £7.10 😳 and a portion of chips £4.95 😲.... and 2 of us left still hungry. Bill total £47 for about 6 plates!! So its not the cheapest meal out, but worth it if everyone in your party likes sushi 👍. (The service was a bit lacking too)... im going to try other sushi options before i go back. Oh but they have got a cool robotic cat delivers your order to your table...

Good concept ruined by a pay-up-front ordering system. Ruins the meals flow. Edit: came back here after a few years. The system is fixed, but still terribly overpriced and the food was all around terrible. Soggy noodles, off-tasting mushrooms and salmon that tasted boiled and looked more like Mackerel. We spent our entire walk to the bus station looking at all the places we would've rather went. Terrible!

The ladies who were taking orders were lovely! Sadly the food was so bad I couldn't even finish my meal (veggie gyoza ramen, the noodles were soggy and bland, the mushrooms too artificially strong, and the gyozas overfried with no taste - maybe they're frozen?) It was my birthday meal so we were so disappointed, £50 we won't get back :( Should've gone to Dojo or even Wagamama instead. The food here is just so overpriced too, especially if you take stuff from the conveyor belt. The booths are tight, chairs uncomfortable and music lame so you feel panicked that you're overspending from the moment you choose a dish. The atmosphere is clinical. Sorry for leaving such an honest review but we really felt robbed for the low quality of food received!

Although the food was decent, the table, the glasses and the water jug were really dirty, saw the employee repacking the already displayed prawn crackers back to their bag. The soya sauce and wasabi bowls were dirty and seemed used. And there was only one waiter taking orders for the whole restaurant.

Went to visit this place today with my son. He really wanted to go and we were looking at the menu etc last night. Turns out this place is card only with absolutely NO signs up anywhere in the store or online. I only had cash on me. My son has additional needs and does not do well with sudden unexpected changes so a meltdown ensued. Should be cash and card, or at the VERY least have signs up in the shop and online so those of us who live the sen life can be prepared for these sort of things. If there was a sign in the door I could of went and put cash in the bank but after doing a full order then dealing with a meltdown there simply wasn't time. Won't be returning as I don't believe in forcing people to use card only. Some of us like to use cash so we can see what we are spending.

Loved the food and the experience of having fresh and yummy food at this place. Everything was spot on and the staff were helpful as this was our first time and took the time to explain how to order. The food comes on the belt, you can select your chosen meal as per your choice the colour denotes the price as per the menu. You also can order first using QR code and pay once your meal is done.

My parents ordered food and it arrived faster than I would normally expected. After my parents finished their meal, my food hasn’t arrived after 20 mins of waiting. Very disappointed. Staff was good but not many. Service was alright but could do a lot more faster. Would reconsider to come back 30% /100%. They apologised after we asked twice.

The food as always is great! however this review is about the horrible staff behaviour. The restaurant was clearly understaffed - which I completely sympathise with. There was two members of wait staff, a light haired boy and a blue haired woman. The blonde boy was absolutely lovely and was running the whole place!! Whilst the blue haired woman was doing nothing to help. The boy was hosting the restaurant, cleaning tables, managing takeout orders, giving out bills and serving customers all whilst dealing with a tech issue in the ordering system. All by himself!!!! The woman on the other hand was chatting with her friends, messing around by distracting both the kitchen staff and the blonde server (both overrun with orders), on her phone and wandering around the tables ignoring everyone’s attempts to grab her attention as no-ones drinks had been served by her. I feel for that poor boy that was left to run the full restaurant by himself whilst his colleague did nothing. The way that women behaved in this restaurant today is unacceptable and rude, something needs to be done!

We took a family member here as a treat because we enjoyed our last visit so much. Unfortunately, a few things have been changed since then, and it was a disappointing experience this time. No soy sauce, ginger, or other amendments on the table, and the food didn’t come along the conveyor belt like before, which was a shame. Changes had been made to buying on the app (which we’d used successfully before), and a glitch in the app meant that our entire bill DOUBLED itself, and since you can now no longer pay as you go or even split the bill, we would have ended up with a bill of around £150+. Other items were duplicated in the bill for no apparent reason. It was a stressful experience and took ages to sort out. On top of this, the place no longer accepts cash. To be clear, the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant, and did their best with a glitchy system. Despite their hard work, our trip to yo sushi was disappointing, underwhelming, and a little embarrassing after we’d spoken so highly of the restaurant before. We won’t be back, I’m afraid.

I've been coming to Yo! Sushi for years, since it was in Fenwick's. They've removed the service buttons in some kind of attempt to streamline the service, but just ends up making everything take 20 minutes longer. The food, when it finally arrives, is still nice but what a pain in the hoop to order it.

This YO!Sushi branch has both friendly and speedy service from the host staff, great food with no mistakes made, and everything was made and served quickly. Got both food off the converyer belt and to order hot food and was happy with all of it. It's had been a while since I last went to YO! and it's nice to see the menu changes, there's a lot more vegan friendly items, making dining with others easier. But I'm sad to see tamago nigiri is not on the belt or menu. RIP my favourite item. Edit: Been a few years again but about the same. Although having to use a QR scanner seemed annoying but it worked fine even with my awful phone.

Hair in sushi! Woman at door passive aggressive and condescending. Said they'd make a fresh one however they just washed the salmon and put it atop of the rice. Although i was fine with this - most wouldn't be. I just wasn't prepared to remove a hair myself. Male chefs don't look like people you'd want preparing your food.

Worst sushi I’ve had in a long time. Takeaway order didnt even come with any basic stuff like wasabi/soy sauce/ginger. The pieces were falling apart and tasted bland. Even supermarket sushi is better. Katsu pumpkin was quite nice but served with some vegetables that clearly didn’t look fresh. Terribly overpriced for what they’re offering.

Hey visited this place with a fried few weeks back. The conveyor belt sushi experience was great. We tried almost everything from each section and loved all the sushi rolls, the duck fries, the pancakes. Food was great. The whole experience was new but we throughly enjoyed it. The system is flawless and everything arrived on time. It’s a must try for all sushi fans and people who like to experiment and experience different things. Staff were really polite and welcoming too. There is a little robo that goes around collections used plates and trash. It’s FUN !!

Always love Yo Sushi - very consistent food, and this one was no exception. I was there on a very quiet Monday evening so the service was quick and the food very hot and fresh when it got to me. Disappointing to say the least. Poor signal in the place so you can barely load the menu, wifi isn’t much better, then it doesn’t let you check out as a guest. Made an account and then it still wouldn’t work. Tried to order with one of the staff and they said you can only use bluelight through the online ordering. Ended up leaving and going else where. Nudo across the road is much better. A person takes your order then brings it to you. Nice and simple.

The food is tasty however we were off put by the cleanliness of the restaurant. The hanging lights above the table were thick with what looked to be weeks worth of dust that could have fallen off in clumps into someone’s food at any second. The tables also hadn’t been cleaned properly on arrival and were still sticky after further requested cleaning took place (the soy sauce table bottle looked as if it gets a wipe down after every 100+ guests). It’s also annoying that there is no internal door between the main entrance as the constant arrival of delivery drivers let a persistent wave of 1C cold air from outside and we were sat opposite this entrance with coats on. Overall a shame considering the premium you pay and the standard of other Yo restaurants.

Lovely food however not the best inside experience. We were sat on the bar stools opposite the chefs area and all we could hear was her complaining about her job, how many hours she worked and details around her handing her notice in and what happened afterwards! Not professional at all and she was slamming the the dishes down once they were made. Most likely won’t return to this branch now if this is the type of experience you get.

This place was rank. It used to be really good in 2019-2020 and I used to visit regularly but I decided to go today. Bad idea. Firstly, I was given a glass that was discusting, obviously hadn’t been even wiped or cleaned. Then I found out they didn’t actually have any of the “ new food” that they advertised eg,duck yo! Fries. Also not the mention the fact my chicken was pink! Bright pink!!! When I complained the surver then told me that the chicken isn’t even cooked in the kitchen! It comes to them pre cooked! Absolutely rank won’t be going there again very disappointed

Ordered click and collect 1/12/22 at 4:30pm. 1 floor staff member working, who didn't even greet me with a 'hello' or 'Can I help?' just a pointed 'Yes?' I work in customer service myself and am always polite and friendly, no matter how long my shift has been. Front of house staff are your first impression of a business, and I was made to feel like I was interrupting the member of staff's work. Food I ordered was not bagged up and ready to go, the 'Plant Power' platter was retrieved from the nearby to go section, so goodness knows how long it had been sat there. I'm just really disappointed, this particular store used to be thriving, with friendly staff, and now eating in or taking away just ends for a really disappointing experience.

The katsu came after about 15 minutes, 15 mins later my partner is still waiting for their food. food is overpriced for the amount you get , but visiting here has gave me the opportunity to try new things which I enjoyed. Our server was lovely and attentive however , the chefs should be more considerate when having conversations with one another knowing it’s an open kitchen. The whole time we were sat , they were complaining about a table of 6 that had booked at 8pm , and then also complaining about having to make food for delivery’s aswell as customers in general. I understand the hassle of working hospitality but this made myself feel unwelcome and almost like a burden.

Quality of food is way below standard. Can't be considered as Japanese food served in a restaurant. Sushi is only on par with those available from supermarkets. Waiting time can be as long as 45 minutes+ during peak hour.

Very slow service when ordering food and you still have to order via a website which takes an age to load due to the bad signal in the building. The free wifi asks for your life story just to use it and the food itself took half an hour to come on an order of 3 plates even though the restaurant was relatively quiet. Disappointing considering Yo sushi used to be pretty decent and you could justify the overpriced food because of the novelty of the on the belt style dining experience - but now it’s just over priced, slow and out to data mine you for you life story just to order. 🚫🍣

Big fan of Yo! Sushi as a restaurant and love their food. Menu was in stock and featured some additional bits that I don't find in other restaurants. Also had a cool robot roaming around the restaurant to place empty dishes. Other aspects are quite standard to all Yo! restaurants. Was not a fan of the kitchen being located in the centre of the room and all tables located around the kitchen. Sometimes felt a bit too close to the chefs.

On FIVE separate occasions during the same meal, I witnessed who I believe is the manager putting ginger - which is served to 95% of customers - onto plates with his bare hands. This same member of staff was also cleaning tables, handling dirty plates and handing out menus to arriving customers without obviously cleaning his hands. All other members of staff rightfully wear gloves when preparing food. Have been going to this location on a regular basis for many years, and there’s a fantastic team working here, but I was shocked and disappointed to see this basic point of food safety not followed by what I assume was the manager.

Visited for take out . The digital order screen is a dream and allowed me to take my time to order . It was a quiet time in the resturant with a few happy customers . Very stylish and I loved the robot that goes around collecting dishes . The food took some time but I didn't mind as they cooked the whole order from fresh . Nicely packaged and survived a buss journey home .no need to reheat as I got home about 45 mins journey . Nice portion sizes , I got small everything but it was enough . My only criticism is that the terriaki chicken was so salt heavy it was a little difficult to take the rest of the flavours . Otherwise good and would recommend .

At 11.30am we were turned away because even though the doors were open they needed more time to prep for service. The service was okay. It felt like the lady at the front desk had to deal with too many Deliveroo/Just Eat take away orders in order to attend to seated guests, which ruined the experience of eating at Yo! I think they need more staff at the front of house to assist seated guests and TakeOut. The food was okay but the orders came when ready and there was a long delay with the kids bento box which meant my hungry child ate my dish and I ended up eating his kids meal. Maybe they also need more staff in behind the kitchen counter. The handles down the stairs to the toilet need a good clean as they were very sticky and gross.

I always avoid raw fish just to be safe anyways so today I ordered some veggie rice/gyoza and it wasn’t long till I had to race home being violently ill. I had been completely fine before visiting and I can confidently say it was from whatever was served- would not recommend it was a waste of money and I have lost the whole day to being sick

This place used to be a favourite but it's gone down hill in the past year. We walk in now and again on the hope that things have improved but we end up walking out again disappointed that nothing has changed. When you go to a restaurant you expect the food that's on the menu to be available. I find it hard to believe that they run out of stock that much with how many times we have been in and wonder if it's more a case of staff not preparing the food. Disappointed. I don't think there is any management in this place and this needs sorted asap

Stood for a long time waiting to be seated. Tables were not clean. Staff were not exactly friendly. Food was OK but very over priced. Would have expected more for the price we paid.

Delicious food & a great selection (for now, the majority of vegetarian & vegan options always seem to disappear after a little while). TINY portions. Paid £5.60 for 4 dragon rolls, expecting them to be the size of a california roll, for example (as that's the size they used to be), and when I received them, they were TINY. Not much bigger than the avocado maki. There have been multiple times where items ordered have been forgotten, sometimes waiting 40 minutes to receive an item because we've waited the usual time for food & then when we realise something is wrong, they then have to make it fresh meaning we're waiting at least double the time we should be. This isn't fair for those who suffer with mental health problems, such as anxiety. As well as those with autism as often times people who suffer with these won't bring it up to the staff, meaning they've paid for something that's not been received. The staff are always lovely, but having items forgotten or more occasions than not is a pretty big problem especially when it's not even particularly busy. Not like being busy should ever be an excuse for not receiving items paid for. It never used to be this way, YO! used to be the place to go for sushi but in recent months it's gone so downhill.. Used to be my favourite but now? Not so much.
