Cafe Zest House of Fraser in Cardiff

El lugar estaba frío al igual que toda la tienda, tuve que esperar a que sirviera una chica y luego servil. El café no era sabroso y el café con leche estaba frío. Dar este lugar un miss. Mejor conversión a hotel boutique.

Me gusta probar diferentes cafés y cafeterías en la ciudad cuando tengo que entrar, así que me tomé la molestia de buscar a Caf Zest después de haber visto el nombre en un anuncio en el reverso de un boleto de autobús. Esta concesión en la tienda de café, que es propiedad de una familia italiana llamada Massarella, está escondida justo en el frente del primer piso de la tienda Howells. Hay poca o ninguna señalización que lo ayude a encontrarlo. Esa es probablemente la razón por la que estaba casi vacío. Pero al haberlo encontrado, genial, imaginé que una taza de café más grande pasaría algún tiempo, así que pedí un café con leche grande. Mal error. Si pide un café con leche grande, la mayoría de los lugares ponen dos tazas de espresso, y en algunos lugares incluso obtiene tres. Pero parece que no en Massarella Catering Group Zest Caf s. Una pequeña foto de café desagradable débil, por lo que básicamente se obtiene una taza de leche de color marrón claro con un toque amargo. La señora que estaba detrás del mostrador fue muy amable e incluso puso otra toma gratis en una taza pequeña separada, y así fue como se pudo saber qué tan delgado, débil y desagradable es el café en Zest. Incluso con el segundo trago de café débil que se vierte a través del café, el café con leche me resultaba imbebible. Estuve más que feliz de ponerlo en la experiencia y simplemente ir, pero el gerente de comprensión muy agradable insistió en dar un reembolso. No compró ningún alimento, quién sabe, puede ser bueno. Pero nunca lo descubriré porque este no es un lugar al que regresaría. Basándonos en el pobre café que se sirve en Zest, probablemente intentaremos evitar todas las otras marcas de Massarella Catering en la tienda (Angélica, Botanico y Wild Mint) también en el futuro. Es una verdadera pena porque el café en los cafés de propiedad italiana suele ser muy bueno.

El servicio aquí fue amable y los huevos para el desayuno de 5 elementos se hicieron a la orden, que encontré mejor que cuando por lo general se dejan bajo las lámparas de calor para secar en otros cafés.

Larga espera por la decepción. Esperaron siglos para descubrir que no tenían panecillos cruzados calientes antes del feriado bancario de Pascua. El café podría haber sido mucho más caliente. No correré hacia atrás, LO SIENTO. No solo yo, sino otros que esperaban no estaban impresionados.

Me gustaría decir algo bueno sobre Cafe Zest, pero estoy luchando por hacerlo. Primero que nada, Lipstick en mi vaso. No reemplazado, a pesar de una disculpa, tuve que beber de la botella. Mi sopa de tomate y albahaca era lo suficientemente sabrosa, pero cálido en el mejor de los casos, no caliente. No había crotones caseros como se anuncia, ni hubo un rollo fresco, según el menú. Nadie lo mencionó Mi tostado era bueno, pero estaba acompañado simplemente por lechuga de bordes marrones, que parecía estar lejos de ser fresco. Mi compañero tenía un café y patatas de chaqueta, que dijo que estaba bien, nada especial. El total de la factura 19 pero yo había tenido un cupón de descuento del 20% lamentablemente esto se había pasado por alto y no se dedujo. Lo señalé al personal que con la ayuda de una calculadora me devolvió 3. 30. Debería haber sido 3. 80. Nunca tuve el extra de 50 p. No estaba ocupado allí, eso no era excusa. Todo lo que puedo atribuir a esto es la falta de gestión en el día junto con el personal despreocupado, que no muestran ningún orgullo por lo que hacen. Perdón por ser tan directo, pero de eso se tratan las reseñas. . . .

We stopped here for coffee while shopping in cardiff. A delicious caramel latte and their cakes are amazing!! My fussy partner liked his hot chocolate too saying it was one of the best

Cafe Zest is pleasant enough and the snacks tasty. The staff have always been friendly. It could do with a bit of a revamp though as the menu has been the same for years.

We happened upon Cafe Zest while visiting Cardiff and had the most wonderful brunch there. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and the selection of food was not only excellent but delicious and well priced. A very enjoyable break.

Went in for a quick lunch, there was plenty of seating I had the soup and a roll which was very nice and very reasonablely priced. The menu is limited with mainly snacks the staff were very friendly and helpful.

My Mum often chooses to pop into Zest cafe when we are out shopping and don't have time for a leisurely lunch. There is often a good range of sandwiches and cakes which we can pick up for a quick sit down. It's pleasant enough and the staff are always friendly.

Called into Cafe Zest on Saturday afternoon for a quick coffee and some lunch. To be honest, I'm seldom impressed by the service proffered nowadays in shops and cafes but ...credit where it's due…I have to say a huge thank you and 'well done' to Grace (I took special note of her ID badge!) for such great customer focus . You were engaging, polite and attentive and I genuinely felt valued as a customer… and my coffee and ham/cheese croissant was lovely too.

We regularly go Cafe Zest. We like the food and we have always found the staff to be incredibly pleasant and helpful. But on this last occasion we encountered I can only assume was a supervisor/manager who when we were selecting our 6 or 8 item breakfast proceeded to interupt the member of staff who was dealing with us so well. To inform toast was included and toast was not included in one or the other. Then proceeded to tell my husband to make his choice in a manor we are not used to being spoken to. I would not like to work with her. The embarressed young girl serving could only apologise - for getting it wrong and for the staff member who had made such an issue of it. Its such a shame as my husband although loved his visits to Cafe Zest has said never again as he wont be spoken to in the rude manor he was by anybody.

An early start to shopping - so we decided to have a cooked brekkie first. Have to say it was lovely, cooked really well and not greasy at all (scrambled egg was deelish)... was worth getting up early on a Saturday for lol

Went here today with a friend as we had a 20% off ticket. We asked if we could use it in the restaurant instead of the cafe as we wanted something hot. I had the breakfast which they were just about to close to start the lunch selection but, it is still no excuse for what we were served. My bacon could not be cut my mushroom was dry and the egg which I was told would be freshly cooked came out dry and hard and you could tell it had not just been cooked. My friend asked for her egg to be flipped it came out rock hard!! If I was asked when the plates were cleared if every thing was ok I would have told them. Not good at all.

We both had afternoon tea yesterday at this pleasant cafe. Lovely time spent, served by attentive staff. Our only disappointment was no scones but alternative offer was lemon cake, lovely. We often call in here after work and always feel welcome. Thank you Cafe Zest.....

Primer día en Cardiff ya estar allí hace 50 años. Visitamos La Casa de Fraser (que solía ser James Howell cuando vivía en Cardiff!!), y un salto arriba a su Café cosas ácidas. Hay mucho espacio para sillas de ruedas vía el ascensor. Buena comida, pero no demasiada variedad. Café y sopa también encantador.

I popped in here just for a cuppa, as I used to visit all the time, but haven't been for years. I was so surprised to see a choice of gluten free cakes - including that very, very rare beast...pastry!! So I just had to buy a lemon tart. It was delicious. I don't know what the other reviewers are on about - my server was excellent, the tea was perfect (I was offered extra hot water, but didn't need it) and that tart...! Yum.

Only visited because I had been given a 20% discount voucher. And now I know why. Rugby international day, the 'Diff was packed and this place was eerily quiet. Visited for breakfast but no breakfast items on. Only a few cakes and scones and the promise of paninis and jackets. My scone was overbaked (yes I watch Bake Off) and had seen better days. Tea in a pot with extra water OK. Hence the 2 stars. Poor.

Afternoon drink and cake, but a little like being sat in Grace Brothers.Quite expensive, not very appealing but a worthy refreshment.

My friend and I fancied a Friday afternoon treat of fresh scone, cream and strawberry. What a disappointment stale scone, synthetic cream and an absent strawberry. To make matters worse the woman behind the counter was completely disinterested and sullenly insisted she had made the scones fresh that morning. To add insult to injury no refund but two free scones to take home where even the dog turned them down.

Visited Cafe Zest on Monday 29/7/13, ordered the above panini cost £4.99.Consisted of panini. a small piece of onion and yellow pepper and enough thinly cut meat to cover 2 postage stamps. Complaining to Lisa she commented "we have had complaints but that is the way we have been told to make them", and offered a refund, which I accepted.
