Disappointing visit today after reading the positive reviews and walking out of our way to eat here. Food was basically what you’d make at home for yourself with little to no effort made which was such a shame. In my opinion, it wouldn’t have taken much to improve it - maybe just a nicer bit of salad even or just real butter perhaps instead of margarine. The cakes were delicious though and the coffee was good too. Only outdoor seating too which I didn’t realise but was great on a warm day.

Dropped in here for cakes and drinks. You have to go to a window hatch to place an order. There seemed to be just one person taking the orders and sorting out the food and although it was not busy - just three people in total, it all seemed a bit of a faff and an effort for them. The cakes and drinks arrived and were okay - the scones were a bit dry but they often are and there was enough cream and jam to moisten them up a bit. Big sign on the door stating there were no toilets on the premises but there were some on the prom apparently - no directions or anything helpful to guide a visitor perhaps. So, the café could have been a bit more welcoming, could have been a little less ramshackle and could have had a loo. Probably would not return.

I needed to stop for something to eat and found this amazing cafe, the lady was so helpful and ensured the regulations for COVD19 were implemented with social distancing and sanitising everything, which impressed me as we had been or other places and this was never implemented, we sat down, chose off the menu and waited for the food, the garden is lovely and it’s so peaceful especially when you walk in and just sit down and relax, it’s beautiful, I had a delicious baguette followed by a home made cream tea with the best coffee I had ever tasted, the server came and talked at a social distance and was really lovely and couldn’t do enough. A truly lovely place to just chill out from the hustle and bustle of the outside world! We love on London and we are definately coming back, thank you for making our weekend break a lovely one! Great homemade food and great service, we walked in as customers and left as friends, thank you!!!!

we visited here today, as a family of 8 prepared to separate. We had two prams - one child with severe medical and learning difficulties. We were made to feel extremely unwelcome, we tried to accommodate there requirements by putting 1 pram to one side - something dropped off the pram and ended up snapping a common overgrown twig from a bush. The lady behind the counter was shouting and made us feel awful. As locals we will never return, this is very sad as we wanted to support local business but you've made this impossible for us. I think you need to appreciate the difficulties travelling with children with severe additional needs, you have no compassion!!!!

At the end of a week camping in Paignton, we knew we had to get a Devonshire cream tea. We found a place and walked along the promenade to find it, but stumbled upon this cafe instead! Absolutely lovely, with gorgeous tables and chairs in the front garden of a friendly, helpful host. We stayed for well over an hour, having plenty of tea refills. Locally baked scones served warm with the perfect cream and jam and cute pots and cups for the tea - and so cheap!!!! For two people our bill came to £13, but we wouldn’t take change from a £20. Sat basically in someone's front garden, which they have transformed into a peaceful outdoor tearoom, where sat in the right spot you get a nice view of the coastline. A nice cream tea, at a good price (3.95) which included a mug of tea, two homemade scones, clotted cream and Jam. The kids had a cheesy chips to share, which was massive and smothered in cheese, which proved very filling and at £3.50 was also good value. Only negatives would be that there wasn't any butter for the scones and we didn't like the tea being seved in mugs, as it just doesn't make a good cup of tea. Also, not really a negative, but something to note, there isn't a toilet however there are public toilets very close by. Overall a nice setting, and not bad value.

Nice relaxed atmosphere, with good choice of food. A group of 6 of us had a range of choices to eat, with wine and pretty good standard overall. Personally, I found the jerk chicken little more than a chargrilled chicken bread, with no authentic jerk heat, but with the rice etc, it was a nice meal. Just not what I had hoped. The other 5 were happy with there choices though, the salmon getting particular praise.

EXCELLENT COFFEE & BISCUIT WITH THE COFFEE, so nice we stayed for two cups!! Very dog friendly staff made lots of fuss of our dog as did other customers coming in making a fuss of him. TREATS AVAILABLE FOR DOGS TOO which was a lovely thought and deserving of business. BEING NEW TO THE AREA AND HAVING BEEN TURNED AWAY FROM OTHER NOT AS NICE CAFES NOT DOG FRIENDLY it was nice to find a genuine dog friendly cafe. There is a step into the cafe which makes it inaccessible for disabled people and unsure if there is a portable ramp, didnt see a sticker on window saying there is one available? Something that can be addressed and advertised on website by owner which would allow us to come back with other members of our family and Im sure bring in other customers/tourists looking for accessible cafes.
