Used to be a big fan of this cafe but not anymore. last 2 visits were a negative experience. 2nd last visit I became invisible by standing next to the “ wait to be seated” sign. staff were not particularly busy and a polite acknowledgment as they walked to within feet of me would have been the way to go . Waited long enough then walked out. Gave it another go last night , pizza came without the extra topping I ordered . No big deal and so I ate it. Did point it out when the girl came to collect the empty plates. However message came back from the chef that he had indeed put the extra on. Did they think I was at it and lying?! That’s the impression I got . Now chefs are drama -queens and don’t like to be criticised I know but for the message to be relayed back was poor show. Sorry folks I will find somewhere else in future .

Food was alright, pizza crust disintegrated as soon as you touch it, the moment I sat down, the two young men in the kitchen leaned out and I could audibly hear them ridiculing my looks and cursing nonstop, wanted to get up and leave then and there but figured I'd give the food a chance, but those two through the back kept leaning around the corner to peer and laugh at me. Just be decent human beings, you're in the business of hospitality, pathetic hipsters, grow up

Fantastic food here! Open all day so great for us after getting off ferry in Uig - homemade meatballs with delicious tomato sauce were fabulous. Their seafood chowder is also wonderful - We stop here every time we go to the islands each September and it’s consistently very very good. Would highly recommend!

Poor value for money. The soup came with one very small heel of bread, not big enough to support the two pats of butter that came with it, so I asked for another piece. When the bill came, I was stunned to see that I had been charged 3 pounds for the extra piece of bread! It would be good to either serve enough bread in the first place, or inform customers that they will be charged quite a bit for an extra piece. Also it was hard to get the servers’ attention because they were always so busy chatting with each other and looking at their phones. Would not go back.

We were on Skye working for a couple of days at Broadford Hospital. We had worked through lunch and were leaving the hospital around 4pm. We were thirsty and hungry but didn't want to eat too much as we had arranged dinner for 7.30pm elsewhere. Cafe Sia is at the bottom of the road to the hospital so we decided to give it a go and share a pizza between us. Right from the minute we walked in the door we were made to feel very welcome. We were shown to our table and the menu was explained. We asked if it we could share a pizza and were told no problem so we ordered the 12 inch margarita and it arrived in no time at all along with cups of tea and a raspberry milkshake - which was so refreshing and light. The pizza was delicious and authentic as a margarita should be, light and full of flavour from the three toppings—basil, mozzarella, and tomato. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Just a pity we are heading back to Glasgow tomorrow as I'd loved to have gone back again for dinner tomorrow - that will have to be a treat we reserve till next visit.

My hubby & I stopped here for a late lunch on the way up to Portree as we were passing through Broadford. My hubby ordered a seafood pizza, which had prawns, mussels, fresh anchovies, smoked salmon, capers, and seaweed. He also had a latte, both of which he said were lovely. I had the veggie pizza with sunblush tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers, olives with vegan cheese - absolutely delicious pizza. I had a pot of earl grey tea with oat milk (I have a dairy intolerance). I would definitely recommend this restaurant, the food was very tasty and the staff were very friendly and efficient. Our bill was £38, which was very reasonable for 2 x woodfire baked 12" Pizzas & drinks.

Called today with my daughter and small grandson for lunch. We ordered pizzas with chips and side salad. The place was busy with only one waitress serving.......the rest were standing around behind the counter! When our food arrived, everything was fine apart from the salad which consisted of only lettuce (which wasn't very fresh) with a pesto dressing - disappointing to say the least! When I complained to the 4 staff standing behind the counter they looked at me as if I had two heads. At a cost of £4.95 for a few bits of lettuce, I told them I thought this was shocking. When I returned to my table, we could hear the staff talking and laughing about my dissatisfaction. I feel that this should have been dealt with in a more professional manner as no apology was offered and my daughter had to ask for this to be deducted from the bill. I have called here many times over the years as we are local to the area but I certainly wont be in a hurry to return.

This review is for Siaway fish and chips, not cafe Sia. In the past their food was very good but having a late lunch is a bad idea here. The chips were reheated and were hard and dry. The same was true for the burger - hard and no moisture. The bread bun crumbled and very dry. We needed to drink copious amounts of water to be able to swallow the food. I'm hoping this is not the new norm - getting rid of excess food from lunchtime. Always ask if the food is freshly made!

We popped in without booking because the guy in the tourist info said that would be OK and we couldn't see anywhere else... but, that's fine before 5pm! After that it's best to book and. with covid precautions, they were fairly busy. This is a pizza specialist and if you do not want pizza the selection is very limited. Thankfully there was a 'specials' menu which is not on the webpage and that had another 3 choices one of which was 'steak'. The staff did not know which steak it was nor asked how I would like it... and did not return to tell me. But I ordered it anyway! My Wife had a fish finger bap which was actually a whole piece of battered fish in a bap. My steak was great! It was served medium rare and was, I think, sirloin. With a great beer and a sparkling water the bill was just over £40.00. Couple of suggestions- better staff training on the menu, get the menus off the table please- trying to read them sideways (they are taped down) is very difficult and actually discriminates against anyone with mobility or sight issues.

We visited Cafe Sia restaurant for meal on our last night in Skye. We have since tried to contact the owner by email to tell him about our experience but have had no reply so decided to review here. The food itself was fine, but it was a terrible service experience. We were told the toilets were closed because 'the police told them to', meaning there are no facilities available for customers eating and drinking and obviously no hand washing. Some customers were disregarding the closed sign on the toilets and were going in anyway, but we decided against doing that knowing that the toilets wouldn't have been cleaned by staff if they were 'closed'.We had to get replacement cutlery because a knife was dirty, which normally wouldn't be an issue but at the moment you would hope cleanliness would be a number one priority. We were basically told off by a waitress (who was quite rude throughout) for not wearing our masks for the 2 metre walk to our table. We then watched all staff constantly fiddling with their masks and touching their faces whilst serving us food and drink- not ideal. Overall we were very disappointed with the service after having enjoyed our takeaway food earlier in our holiday. We felt the story about the police telling them to close the toilets was made up and an excuse for them to not have to keep them clean. Would recommend avoiding this restaurant.

Wood fired pizza my arse. The ovens are clearly electric, you can see them. The price quality ratio makes the pizza extortionate.Relatively expensive and dreadful quality. The dough wasn’t properly proven and so ended up much more like an unleavened bread or cracker with far too much cheese on. The service is like a parody of surly teenage service. If you can get them to notice you over their friends they just stare at you gormlessly before eventually grunting.

Thin crust base and a distinct lack of quality toppings. Base was a little undercooked and the toppings were bland but not so bad it couldn’t be eaten. The restaurant is well segregated for Covid but I question the effectiveness of the cleaning, I also noticed they continually touch their masks and then serve food & drinks but I’ve noticed that in most restaurants. As is the case in most Skye restaurants, it’s expensive for pretty average food.

Ordered three takeaway pizzas from cafe sia, and generally we were impressed, nice thin base with a decent amount of toppings on, and they tasted good too. Only things to note were that - friends that went into the restaurant to use the toilet commented that the music wasn't particularly family friendly and I order the deamon pizza....which is spicy....so spicy infact that after completing the first slice I started to sweat, the sweat stung my forehead and then ran into my eyes, which also stung... however it did taste nice and I powered on and completed the pizza. When finished my stomach felt like I had eaten lava and my voice had gone croaky...anyway my symptoms improved as we drove home and it wasn't until I visited the toilet the next day that I realised just how hot it was...I cried, this is first time I have cried in a very long time....so to summarise, pizza tasted good, restaurant music has swearing in it and the deamon pizza is very very very spicey.

I liked this place. I only had coffee but husband ate and liked his food. It’s lovely and clean. Staff are nice. I enjoyed the Metallica music but must say I don’t think it suits the type of place it is or the other diners that had been in.

Just avoid, the outside staff were passive aggressive, felt like they were unhappy having customers, Simple questions were answered so rudely. Waited a while for our pizza when it was just us ordering, we ordered the Deamham pizza and did not taste the chilli oil and there were no peppers, the sauce and toppings were minimal and unappetising. Completely disappointed and horrible service from the staff. I don’t usually leave reviews but it was that bad. Waste of money and was not a good ending of our trip to Skye

We passed Cafe Sia the day before our visit when we arrived on the island, the weather was hot & people were sitting inside and out, also queuing to enter which we took as a good sign. We visited the following day in the pouring rain arriving about 1300, we were seated inside straight away and the COVID-19 restrictions explained. After much deliberation of the menu choices we placed our food & drinks order with staff who were very helpful (3 x pizza, dough balls and Halloumi sticks). Our food arrived quickly, was piping hot and delicious. Daughter informs me her milkshake was amazing & served in a metal milkshake holder. We didn’t have room for dessert. On leaving a queue was already forming & the Sia take away was busy. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the island and would visit again if we have the opportunity.

Pizza is tasteless, nothing to do with "Italian" pizza. Waiters don't bring you plate or napkin, even after reminding them. You end up leaving a mess on the table

I visited Cafe Sia recently and had the best pizza ever. Cooked by Jacob, the base was thin and crispy, and the toppings were generous. I had the vegetarian option but with a helping of Scottish venison salami which is far nicer than the usual salami served on pizzas. Everything was cooked to perfection. All the staff were friendly and helpful and had made great efforts with managing the Covid rules as required.I will be back!

My sister and I called in for a pizza last week. I had the cheese, cheese and more cheese one and she had a veggie pizza with salami (don't ask). Both were served quickly and piping hot. They were great. Tasty crispy base and lots of topping. The Strathdon Blue cheese on mine was fab. Best I've had from them. I understand that Jacob was the chef that night. Well done Jacob. Great service as well from Amy and Kian.

Each year, we visit Cafe Sia in some way - breakfast, evening meal, coffee and have up until now been happy with the experience. This year, during COVID easing, we decided to order 4 takeaway pizzas - pepperoni x 3 plus one margherita. Around the £10-£12 mark each. 3 out of the 4 pizzas were close to burnt. One was burnt and returned - how theses pizzas got out to customers I really don't know. These pizzas were bettered by the local Co-op supermarket's pizzas 3 nights before, at £3.50 each. The pizzas were very crispy, in fact over-crispy. Pizzas should be soft, succulent and melt in your mouth. These pizzas presented all the ingredients congealed together into one. We're not pizza snobs but come on, at £11.95 you guys need to improve your game. Quality of pizza is unacceptable at this price. It's a bad day when a whole family say the local supermarket pizzas are better. It's time for you to change your pizza base flour. There is no competition for you in Skye, but don't think you can continue to serve this year's pizzas at those prices for much longer. That's bad customer service and takes customer loyalty for granted. Not good.

Arrived in Skye from Aberdeen and was searching for a place to eat close to our hotel in Broadford. With other resteraunts closed Cafe Sia managed to squeeze us and our 8 month old son in for a reservation at a convenient time.Despite Covid Restrictions, the service was as good as expected, and the food was excellent! Highly recommend booking as this appeared a popular venue and some people were turned away from sit in to the take away option.Very impressed how accommodating they were with young children, despite the changing facility floor being damp. But given what is going on we were very impressed overall. Thanks again to the staff who went above and beyond in this strange times to offer both excellent service and food

Good meat and vegan options for both pizza and full breakfasts. Cafe well used by locals and visitors. Excellent coffee. Service can be a bit chaotic in the summmer because it is so busy and young seasonal staff are learning on the job; but they are lovely.

Great Pizza on the way. Stop here twice already and planing always when visiting Skye with Family or Friends. Would recommend to anyone who is looking out for a good food on the way. Try the Zucchini fries, something unusual but still great 🤤

Went for dinner, cosy , welcoming atmosphere on a cold March evening. Everything looked amazing and caters for allergies lots of GF options ( which my daughter would appreciate) Hubby had steak special , braised melt in the mouth. I had F & C , best ever even better than Whitby!!!Most of the fare locally sourced . Definitely a must visit if you go to Skye, even if it’s just for a coffee ..

Me and my husband met a friend for a chat on a very wet day. I had never met my friend in person but been Facebook friends for 6 years. We were visiting Skye and my friend lived there. We arranged to meet at that cafe. Plenty off road parking lovely cafe / restaurant. Nice warm welcome. Turns out we spent four and a half hours chatting drinking coffees teas and milkshakes. We were never rushed or felt in the way. We will definitely be back

I 'found' this cafe on way home from the Western Isles after one of the worst ferry trips I've ever had. However, I was starving, it was easy to park and so I stopped for lunch, and I suspect I shall be stopping here many times again in the future. The cafe was very busy and service was correspondingly a tad slow but this did not detract from the excellent grub! The coffee was very good and I opted for the trio of 'mini' burgers. I was not disappointed.Overall a gem of a cafe in a beautiful setting. Highly recommended.

The Fish and Chip Shop is in our experience is without a doubt the BEST IN CAITHNESS AND SUTHERLAND! The fish was white and flakes. fried in beautiful crispy batter and the chips were perfect. We have experienced other Chip Shops in Wick,Thurso and Helmsdale, plus Mobile Chip Vans in Lybsterand Dunbeath and this has been the best so far too. We travelled around 30 miles to eat here and would do so again. THANK YOU.

After poor experiences in Oban and Fort William this place restored our faith in a Scottish breakfast and hospitality. Great service, even better breakfast made with quality ingredients.
