I have visited this place a few times for lunch and mid morning/afternoon drinks over the last few years, the staff are really nice and always make you welcome, well worth a visit for brunch or lunch.

Difficult to spot among the souvenir shops but worth looking for! Only 100 yards from the Tube Station, good selection of sandwiches snacks and hot drinks. Abdul the manager is very friendly and visit more than once and you are treated as a friend. Plenty of tables and chairs and free Wi-Fi. Reasonable prices particularly for this area of London. Why give your money to an American mega coffee chain when you can get cheaper, in better surroundings, and help out the Sally Army at the same time!

This is a small cafe which is rather an adjunct to the Regent Hall, the Salvation Army HQ in London on the southern side of Oxford Street just a stone's throw from Oxford Circus towards Bond Street. It serves, in addition to hot and cold beverages, jacket potatoes and particularly good rounds of sandwiches. It's worth lingering here before or after a Friday lunchtime concert. Today as part of a series of piano recitals all featuring music by Beethoven a young French pianist dazzled in his Op.35 Eroica Variations as well as a series of variations by Haydn and excerpts from Debussy's Images and Preludes with either a fishy or a windy theme. Fortunately no dodgy tuna sandwiches on sale in the cafe.

A great, quiet oasis in one of the busiest streets in the country. Probably is of the least expensive placws to boot. Peaceful and quiet and lovely staff. Spend a few quiet minutes in here and relax - it's lovely.

I only asked for extra milk and was told I had to lay. When I said I have always donated to the salvos I was told that the manager Abdul did not work for the army and it was run by him not the salvation army. He then told me he was not a Christian which concerned me as I had chosen to eat there as it was a church. The food was average although nobody work gloves to. Prepare food and the manager had long hair not tied back and jeans. Wouldn't bother going there again

I always make a point of having lunch in Cafe Renew when I'm in London. First of all, the food is simple and freshly-made and very reasonable, and you can sit in peace and enjoy a pot of tea along with sandwiches and home-made cakes that are far better than any of the pre-wrapped kind. Cafe Renew is not what you'd call trendy, but if this doesn't bother you, pay it a visit. Free wi-fi is an extra bounus. #And don't forget to thank the Salvation Army for doing the sort of work that most of us would run a mile from from by slipping something into their donation box. They deal with problematical aspects of our society that most of us don't want even to know about, and they deserve our gratitude.

A haven of tranquility with no pretensions is the discrete street door at 275 Oxford Street. Part of the Salvation Army, not a place I would naturally gravitate to, but worth the visit at the insistence of Mrs Angus A pot of excellent tea for a couple of pounds, air conditioning, quite and free Wi-Fi Food, soup and sandwiches all on offer from the friendly staff If you need somewhere to retreat, have tea and contemplate your excesses on Oxford Street this is the place

Made the mistake of going into a cafe where there were no other customers. I think I now know why. Visited the premises in the Square. Latte and croissant, paid immediately by card, lukewarm coffee, stale croissant then on leaving was accused of not paying. They made a check of their records and voila, it seems I had. Quite embarrassing and won’t be back.

Previously known as Cellar Gascon. Not sure why they changed its name but c'est la vie. I love this place - been coming for over 20 years. Amazing wine menu - some real treats for the cognoscenti, at very reasonably pricing. Staff are very friendly too.

We came in for a couple of coffees and a pastel de nata. The quality of the coffee is excellent and the pastel de nata was delicious. Prices here are much lower than most high quality cafes.
