Brilliant cafe! Great food, welcoming staff and atmosphere.

This is an amazing looking place. Completely unique. The nexus is interesting and everything is reasonably priced, especially considering its location. Ate here today. Quirky relaxed dining area, with reasonably priced food for the location.

I saw a review saying it was a cafe inside a church, so I went there out of curiosity. I visited around 1 o'clock during lunch time, and it was quite crowded. I ordered the Cheeser Chicken Salad Plate and the Ricotta Cheese Pancake with Chocolate. Each one was quite delicious. If it's not crowded, there's no problem relaxing with coffee and dessert. It's a cafe inside a church, so it's recommended for people who want to enjoy a slightly unusual atmosphere.

I love this place for a delicious work lunch. It feels like such a hidden gem below the church. I've been here at least three times and each time there has been a different menu, generally middle eastern/Mediterranean style food. If they have homemade juice available to accompany your meal, I would highly recommend it! I've never been disappointed here and the prices are in line with the quality of the meal. The service is always friendly and down to earth.

We were a group of 14 for lunch. From the initial booking to the service and food, everything was fast and easy. My friends loved the food and the unusual location. Staff was very nice and patient.

Cafe Below is a find, it Is lovely. Located in the norman crypt of the famous St.Mary-le-Bow church, founded in 1080, the Cafe Below offers an excellent reasonabley priced menu. The service is friendly, quick and efficient and the clientele -comprised of city folk and the occasional tourist -rarely leave anything but happy. It's open for breakfast, lunch or dinner, offering 'homemade food in the heart of the City.' Gve it a go, you will not regret it.

Excellent lunch spot for a lovely and filling salad and a nice glass of wine to go with it. Off the beaten track for tourists so you can relax in good company.

Naans were forgotten but the guys sorted it out really quickly and dropped them off. Great food and great service!

Food was twice delayed and arrived 25 minutes from original estimate. However food was very nice although not particularly hot. Portions were smaller than some other takeaways.

We just ended up here and had a delicious cappuccino. A hidden spot, but I don't think it's that hidden, all tables were reserved.

I found the restaurant Anyone suggest your "café below, and I will search there. When I look at your presence on Google, I see that your website is not strong or good. It's much tougher to find menus and much more. I will suggest you make your website with perfection

This is a lovery venue and the food and menu are good for vegaterian and vegan options as well as regular dinners. Service is attentive and quick. The acoustics of the main dinning room in the crypt are the only drawback, but if that is a problem (as it is for me) you could ask for a table in the bar which has much less background noise.

Great service and menu choices for breakfast were satisfying. This is a great location with interesting and quiet ambiance.

Pretty average food. Got veg samosas rather than the meat ones ordered, either that or they had no meat in them. Chicken Tikka Masala sauce wasn't very flavoursome or thick. One poppadom was soft, a big no no. Disappointing overall.

It’s taken me way too long to eat here, a wonderful light dining experience beneath St Mary le Bow Church. Excellent fare served efficiently from a varied and well priced menu. Perfect for a single course lunch at under £20, keen to return for more next time. Cafe Below is a great antidote to the usual City eateries. Recommended.

Lamb chops are great however the lamb briyani tastes like just tomatoe soup, no spicy also just has two slices of meat. Not worthy restaurant.

The lamb curry was lovely meat soft no fat or grisly bits will be ordering again.

We loved Cafe Below. It was a very very nice lunch in a very different place. The service was nice and the food delicious. Just a little bit of small portions specially when you are traveling with youngsters. Great vegetarian menu. Would definitely repeat!!

Food was cold and bland. There was very little meat in the railway curry and the keema nan had very little meat in it.

Fabulous homemade food with an interesting menu, veggie options and helpful when booking gluten free. Cafe Below is also an atmospheric venue, a crypt in Wren church only 100m from Bank Tube. It also serves breakfast from 7 to 10am, something we're yet to try - but want to! Also, it's bookable for private functions and I'd suggest that it's well worth considering, both for a special private celebration or an important work event. This was about my 4th visit, and I've already booked a Twelfth Night lunch for six friends to catch up after a while. Perfect!

What a beautiful venue, with stunning fresh homemade food, served with a smile. One of the hidden gems on the London restaurant scene. Definitely worth a visit.

Got my main wrong and sent a starter that was just one butterfly prawn, couldn’t eat due to the breadcrumbs and I’m allergic. The rest of the food was very bland and I actually just ended up throwing it away.

So-so, not great and not bad. Did not find a great reason to return. The coffee looks good in the picture but the coffee was very disappointing everywhere we went in London. What's up with that?

I have been using this restaurant for years and they have never disappointed, either through there takeaway or eating in their restaurant a top spot if you love a curry

Very misleading pricing. Be careful, the prices displayed on the wall are for takeaway, for eating in add another 50%!

We had a quick lunch at the beginning of September on a Tuesday at the "Café Below". We took a main and a dessert each. That was pretty good and original. A bit on the expensive side though I would say, as the prices were not the same than mentioned at the entrance. Nice atmosphere, as this is in a kind of crypt under a church. Of course this is well renovated.

Delicious lunch and pleasant attentive service. I just stumbled across this cafe, noticed their little sign while visiting St Mary-le-Bow. Nice menu — I had the lamb stew — and their fresh, homemade lemonade was a treat.

We have been using the Rag for a few months and although the curry is good we have noticed the portion in the curry box seems to be getting less and less so will go back to using the railway for now

The food is completely forgetable, the service is basic but efficient, and despite being underground, the fact you are below a church has some wow factor.
