Had lunch here on three occasions and have to say what a pleasant surprise! The welcome from the hostess was warm and friendly - I took tables outside so I could enjoy a nice Havana Cigar post meal. The food was great on all occasions the Taco and Risotto perfectly cooked. The staff are all lovely but I have to say Joanna was amazing taking time to explain the menu and provided a sense of fun whilst retaining that air of professionalism throughout - well done and I will definitely be back!

We came here for our anniversary. We had the fish taco and rarebit as starters, both delicious. We had the beef wellington to share for main, it really was incredible. Was a bigger portion than I was expecting. The gratin potatoes were divine. The service & recommendations we received from Kieren our waiter was second to none. It felt like very genuine recommendations, and he was very knowledgeable about the menu. A very likeable guy, who was professional and hard working. Made our evening very relaxed and enjoyable. We would love Kieren to be recognised for his hard work and delightful nature!

I very much enjoyed my experience at 45 Jermyn St. Located right down the street from my hotel and theaters, you enter into a very elegant setting with super-attentive staff. I was quickly seated at a nice 2-top (I was alone) in a row of bench seating. Since nobody was ever seated near me during my stay, I had this area of the restaurant to myself -- which was fine. I went with the pre-theatre menu, since I was attending a show later. I started with the smoked salmon, then had the seabass for my main, and the eton mess coupe for dessert. The smoked salmon was delicious and served with soda bread and three accompaniments (eg., capers etc). Yummy. The seabass was one portion size, and was more than enough for my appetite (I've been to restaurants where they serve two and that's just too much for me). It was perfectly cooked, but I wished it came with a nice white wine reduction or something similar as it had no sauce. (The menu says it comes with sauce vierge, but if mine had that, I totally missed enjoying any.) I should've asked about it at the time, but didn't realize it was missing something until about halfway through. It had the other elements of "sauce vierge," so maybe it was just reduced down too much and lacked any of the actual sauce. This was the one off note to an otherwise enjoyable meal. Service was impeccable, always attentive without being intrusive. The dessert was delicious too! Highly recommended. The dinner was served in a timely manner, giving me plenty of time to make my show. (I made 5:30 reservations for a 7:30 showtime.)

What a disappointment. The hype leading up to my booking was something - I booked well in advance for the famous 45 Jermyn St breakfast and purposefully left the airport amidst a really complicated transit to experience the eggs royale. Well, please do yourself a favor and, unless you happen to be walking past, don’t go out of your way. I was dining as a single diner (with hand luggage and airplane hair) and it was the generic experience that is spoken of - hide her and get her out. The website describes long, leisurely brunches alone or with friends. Wrong. I ordered the highly anticipated Eggs Royal (I was STARVING and lo and behold, I thought they were kidding when my bennie was dropped off. One tiny egg on a tiny English muffin with a blob of hollandaise. Thankfully it looked a little more delightful with a bit of cracked black pepper on it! I needed somewhere to stay for the hour so ordered another beverage and although the restaurant was at around - maybe a 10 percent capacity? It wasn’t the most welcoming. Pity.

We booked this restaurant for Sunday morning breakfast. It looks fabulous and we were excited to try it out. The welcome was very warm and efficient, we were quickly shown to our table. Our server arrived promptly and our order taken. My partner ordered pancakes, these were disappointingly thick & dense. I ordered the full English,. Both dishes arrived in good time and both as hot as expected. Unfortunately, the quality of the food wasn’t as high as I’d expected from such an high end restaurant. I’ve had better tasting & quality of sausage in a countryside B&B. It felt like it was all a bit style over substance! It’s not cheap, but I wasn’t expecting it to be but I was expecting the food quality to be commensurate with the price, sadly it wasn’t. Not terrible but certainly not as good as I’d hoped.

I went to this restaurant a long time ago and I will never go back. I ordered risotto with asparagus and morels. As soon as I finished the dish I started to feel strange and had to go home cancelling my plans for the rest of the evening. I was vomiting all night and had to call the doctor. The doctor asked me what food I had eaten. The doctor was sure that the reason for my illness was morel poisoning as they are very toxic and that I would be taken to the hospital if the symptoms got worse. I did not know that morels were toxic when I ordered the dish especially if they are not cooked properly. The doctor advised me to call the restaurant and report it. I informed the restaurant and they said they would investigate but they did not and they ignored me for weeks without answering my calls or emails.

My wife and I booked this while on our honeymoon trip to try a beef wellington for the first time and have some caviar. I saw online that the restaurant did table side service for both, so we booked it the day of our reservation. I was concerned a little about how we'd be received, since we were Americans visiting without having super dressy clothes since it sounded fancy. Ultimately there was no dress code and we were treated extremely well by all of the staff. Our waiter was great and super friendly throughout dinner. We ordered the caviar for table side service which exceeded expectations, as the scrambled eggs were made in front of us, which were probably the best scrambled eggs we've ever had, along with the other great accompaniments that came with the caviar for us to enjoy. We both got cocktails throughout dinner, which were also great. We got the beef wellington for two, with the sauce being flambéed tableside and the server cutting the beef wellington for us. The presentation was great and the food was even better. The beef wellington for two was arguably too much food for us on its own with the green beans and au gratin coming as sides, but all were delicious. It was everything we'd hoped it would be, and the staff was amazing to us. We'd definitely come back again in the future to try their other dishes after having tried the main event. It was certainly an experience and meal fit for a special honeymoon moment in London.

We eat here 2 or 3 times each year and it never fails to impress. The menu is pleasingly small containing some classics such as lobster linguine (theatrically finished with some pyrotechnics at the table!), beef wellington and several excellent fish dishes some of which are novel and very successful such as the mackerel tacos, with some seasonal variations (a range of 5 or 6 asparagus dishes at this time of the year). Each dish is perfectly executed. Wines are of excellent quality (including by the glass). Service is attentive but not intrusive. The atmosphere and interior design of the restaurant is smart, a bit glamorous but also informal and fun. On our last visit we had the privilege of being served by Dali who made us feel very welcome and also shared a little of his sense of humour with us, making the evening a thoroughly delightful experience.

Home are the white table cloths, gone are the silver decanters, gone is the exquisite and knowledgeable service. The food was incredibly poor quality. I could taste the vinegar on the eggs benedict. The toast was random sliced. If I’d paid £5 for each of the dishes ima local greasy spoon, I would have been annoyed but at £20+ per dish - this was a sad joke. They also add an *optional* 12% service charge without mentioning or asking. Sad to say this was a terrible experience and another great London establishment down the drain…

I was in Jermyn Street buying some new shirts and I thought I would have some lunch. I called in at '45'. I would say the experience was 'okay'. The starter, Oxtail soup, was a little bland, the main course, which was liver and bacon was very good. I messed up and ordered lettuce instead of cabbage, as a side, but the waiter was polite and didn't laugh. The main issue was the 45 minute wait between courses. I know the restaurant is called 45 , but I didn't think that also equated to the waiting time between courses. There were certainly plenty of staff on duty, but the two I spoke to were unable to explain the reason for the delay. I guess that will have to remain one of lives great mysteries, as the restraint wasn't busy. It did give me time to watch the Gueridon waiter cook on a nearby table, which I enjoyed.

Truly an awful experience. I’ve never felt so uncomfortable in a restaurant. The maitre d’ was rude as we entered and were it for the fact we had pre booked this particularly restaurant we would have left at that point. The service was curt and abrupt to the point of rudeness. Basically made to feel inferior if you aren’t spending big bucks. I guess our mistake was asking for the ‘Pre Theatre Menu’ which they eventually admitted they had and reluctantly gave us. Why offer a set menu if you are going to have a huff if people try to order from it? We felt it was really underhand and they effectively wanted us to pay more on the standard menu for exactly the same food. The service staff were cold and uninterested and had the audacity to add a hefty service charge. The food was ok but not exactly ‘wow.’ Totally ruined our 5th wedding anniversary meal. Would never even consider booking here again. We both left kind of sad as if we had wasted a special occasion at this horrible restaurant.

We ordered a simple meal with glasses of wine rather than expensive bottles. Our friends even shared their main course. The service was excellent and our food was fine and simple. Each of us only had two courses. I was horrified to see that the meal had cost us just over £410 that included a service charge of over £40. This is madness and simply not worth the money. To have paid more than £100 each for such a modest meal makes no sense and must damage the restaurant's chance of entertaining the average Londoner.

It is very very expensive (so much so that I was worried the food wouldn’t be worth the price when I went for an expensive option on this occasion), however, the dishes were all tasty and properly cooked. We eat here quite often and the food is usually fairly good to very good but the truffle menu was really fantastic. I loved the champagne risotto and wish that there was always a vegetarian option like this available (it would be best if the truffle was optional in my opinion). The restaurant does seem to often offer all or mostly vegan options and little to no vegetarian dishes with eggs, cheese and butter but more recently there seems to be more of a good balance. This is good for me as I think these things tend to make tastier food that feels more of a treat/leaves you full when eating out. I do like the carrot salad from the vegan options. I hope the truffle menu sticks around a little longer (I generally like the little specials options on the top left of the menu). Drinks very good too! I do miss the lime rickey ice cream on the dessert menu though! Service was good.

Some restaurants get it just right and this is one of them. We’ve been coming here for years, the beef Wellington is one by which all others are judged. Excellent service, we even returned for breakfast this trip and usual great food and service.

This is a great place. But they did make a big mistake saying there was no sesame in a dish when there was and our guest had an allergic reaction and had to leave early with her partner. Not good for an otherwise amazing place.

We came here on New Years Day for dinner and it was amazing. We had several starters followed by the Beef Wellington (highly recommend). Special shout out to David, who served us all evening and made the experience even more enjoyable. Will be going again soon!

Went by chance as waiting for Fortnum to open and loved it. Breakfast was reasonably priced for quality products and service exceptional, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience and look forward to returning. Really recommend a visit

Decent food, the service was unbelievably rushed. They were asking us if we wanted pudding when they served our main course and the bill when we ordered dessert. A bit weird.

Came here for breakfast before having a look at the Christmas display in Fortnums and elsewhere. Smoked Salmon and scrambled eggs were excellent, a good portion size which can be lacking in good restaurants. Would recommend for a sophisticated breakfast to start your day right
