Tomas: "the secret is in the sauce". What a great waiter! Oh WOW - what a difference - this was so delicious and every detail. The Beef Wellington was perfect, the potatoes and beans were cooked and seasoned beautifully. The sauce that was prepared at the table is great - as the waiter aptly said "the secret is in the sauce". If you would like to eat a great beef wellington, you can only recommend this place. The day before we went to see Gordon Ramsay, but that was an absolute failure.

The service used to be great here, this was my first visit since 2020. It was pretty poor this evening, badly organised, unprofessional staff. Our waitress clearly couldn’t be bothered to be there, such an inappropriate attitude to have at a high end restaurant. The food was good, yes a bit salty as other reviewers have commented on. Very expensive considering the service, such a shame as I remember it being good years ago.

After eating out all the entire week in London in restaurants around Mayfair, Knightsbridge, Belgravia and Covent Garden, 2 or 3 times daily, I can say with confidence and 100% honesty that this restaurant is the BEST of them all in terms of quality, portion, service, atmosphere. We are always satisfied every time we visit, mostly for dinners . I read reviews about prices, but these are all in line with other central London restaurants, even as ‘far’ as Battersea and Richmond. At least here in 45 Jermyn, you get great value . Also, to note , because I am fussy, I liked that they have separate gents and ladies washrooms, well-kept and heavenly Bamford hand soap. And no, this place is not for Instagram freaks aka Sketch, but you go here to eat good food and not to pose for photos.

Had a really good experience here. Food was very good. We both chose the £45 set pre theatre menu with cocktail because that was what we were doing ! But even for a limited menu the food was great. I can throughly recommend the smoked salmon from their own smoke house if they have it. Our waiter was friendly and attentive without being overly so as some seem to have become. I’d go back again when I’m in town.

My parents often say I live a charmed life, and so to prove them right I decided to grab lunch to recover from the hell that is Fortnum’s ground floor at Christmas. I ordered the roast beef and some chips and carrots. What I wasn’t told either by the menu or staff is that the beef comes with roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese and parsnips and cabbage. I can only imagine how gluttonous I must have looked like to the other diners. The beef was lovely and tender, given the choice of rare or well done I obviously went rare. The roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were a bit of a letdown for me, I felt they weren’t anywhere near the standard and my dad can do better. The carrots were decent and the cauliflower was really nice and creamy. The chips were really good and needed to make up for the lacklustre roast potatoes. I didn’t touch the other veg as it’s not my thing so lucky I ordered the carrots. I think to make the main 10/10, it needed another slice of beef, a choice on the veg to stop waste and maybe another potato or two so another side would be unnecessary. This main with extras therefore came to roughly £50 inc service. I then had the apple crumble coupe to finish which was light and exactly what was needed to finish the roast before. Overall, the food was really good, but I felt the sides were unnecessary and necessary at the same time. They could easily have been incorporated in the headline price yet meant I spent another £15, which left me feeling like Rob Reiner in the Wolf of Wall Street.

Should be so much better than it is. The details should be perfect but they are lacking. The veg is too salty, everything else is not salty enough. The staff are ill trained and all over the shop. It's just a hugely disappointing experience. With crisp execution in and out of the kitchen it could be great. But at these prices it's miles off.

This was a late lunch after a long walk across Richmond Park, an old haunt of my wife and I. We hadn't booked, but the service was superb from start to finish. The beef wellington was as good as my wife's, and so we're the desserts. We are quite fussy and critical where it comes to restaurants, but 45 was exceptionally good on all counts and we hope to return when we next visit London.

Been here today for breakfast. Having checked out some of the reviews here, I was a little skeptical for the service. I read some people commenting about it being unfriendly. My experience was completely opposite of that. Women at the entrance were very friendly and chatty both for when I arrived and left. Service personnel were very professional, always smiling, keeping a close eye on our table topping up our drinks and asking if we want anything extra without bothering us by asking too often. Food was good. I had a Greek yogurt granola which was a very generous portion as well as tasty. The only thing for me was that it was a busy morning and the place was loud with everyone chatting away but there is nothing they can do about it. It in fact only shows it’s a busy and popular space. Verdict: I’d go back!

I very much enjoyed my experience at 45 Jermyn St. Located right down the street from my hotel and theaters, you enter into a very elegant setting with super-attentive staff. I was quickly seated at a nice 2-top (I was alone) in a row of bench seating. Since nobody was ever seated near me during my stay, I had this area of the restaurant to myself -- which was fine. I went with the pre-theatre menu, since I was attending a show later. I started with the smoked salmon, then had the seabass for my main, and the eton mess coupe for dessert. The smoked salmon was delicious and served with soda bread and three accompaniments (eg., capers etc). Yummy. The seabass was one portion size, and was more than enough for my appetite (I've been to restaurants where they serve two and that's just too much for me). It was perfectly cooked, but I wished it came with a nice white wine reduction or something similar as it had no sauce. (The menu says it comes with sauce vierge, but if mine had that, I totally missed enjoying any.) I should've asked about it at the time, but didn't realize it was missing something until about halfway through. It had the other elements of "sauce vierge," so maybe it was just reduced down too much and lacked any of the actual sauce. This was the one off note to an otherwise enjoyable meal. Service was impeccable, always attentive without being intrusive. The dessert was delicious too! Highly recommended. The dinner was served in a timely manner, giving me plenty of time to make my show. (I made 5:30 reservations for a 7:30 showtime.)

What a disappointment. The hype leading up to my booking was something - I booked well in advance for the famous 45 Jermyn St breakfast and purposefully left the airport amidst a really complicated transit to experience the eggs royale. Well, please do yourself a favor and, unless you happen to be walking past, don’t go out of your way. I was dining as a single diner (with hand luggage and airplane hair) and it was the generic experience that is spoken of - hide her and get her out. The website describes long, leisurely brunches alone or with friends. Wrong. I ordered the highly anticipated Eggs Royal (I was STARVING and lo and behold, I thought they were kidding when my bennie was dropped off. One tiny egg on a tiny English muffin with a blob of hollandaise. Thankfully it looked a little more delightful with a bit of cracked black pepper on it! I needed somewhere to stay for the hour so ordered another beverage and although the restaurant was at around - maybe a 10 percent capacity? It wasn’t the most welcoming. Pity.

We booked this restaurant for Sunday morning breakfast. It looks fabulous and we were excited to try it out. The welcome was very warm and efficient, we were quickly shown to our table. Our server arrived promptly and our order taken. My partner ordered pancakes, these were disappointingly thick & dense. I ordered the full English,. Both dishes arrived in good time and both as hot as expected. Unfortunately, the quality of the food wasn’t as high as I’d expected from such an high end restaurant. I’ve had better tasting & quality of sausage in a countryside B&B. It felt like it was all a bit style over substance! It’s not cheap, but I wasn’t expecting it to be but I was expecting the food quality to be commensurate with the price, sadly it wasn’t. Not terrible but certainly not as good as I’d hoped.

I went to this restaurant a long time ago and I will never go back. I ordered risotto with asparagus and morels. As soon as I finished the dish I started to feel strange and had to go home cancelling my plans for the rest of the evening. I was vomiting all night and had to call the doctor. The doctor asked me what food I had eaten. The doctor was sure that the reason for my illness was morel poisoning as they are very toxic and that I would be taken to the hospital if the symptoms got worse. I did not know that morels were toxic when I ordered the dish especially if they are not cooked properly. The doctor advised me to call the restaurant and report it. I informed the restaurant and they said they would investigate but they did not and they ignored me for weeks without answering my calls or emails.

My wife and I booked this while on our honeymoon trip to try a beef wellington for the first time and have some caviar. I saw online that the restaurant did table side service for both, so we booked it the day of our reservation. I was concerned a little about how we'd be received, since we were Americans visiting without having super dressy clothes since it sounded fancy. Ultimately there was no dress code and we were treated extremely well by all of the staff. Our waiter was great and super friendly throughout dinner. We ordered the caviar for table side service which exceeded expectations, as the scrambled eggs were made in front of us, which were probably the best scrambled eggs we've ever had, along with the other great accompaniments that came with the caviar for us to enjoy. We both got cocktails throughout dinner, which were also great. We got the beef wellington for two, with the sauce being flambéed tableside and the server cutting the beef wellington for us. The presentation was great and the food was even better. The beef wellington for two was arguably too much food for us on its own with the green beans and au gratin coming as sides, but all were delicious. It was everything we'd hoped it would be, and the staff was amazing to us. We'd definitely come back again in the future to try their other dishes after having tried the main event. It was certainly an experience and meal fit for a special honeymoon moment in London.

We eat here 2 or 3 times each year and it never fails to impress. The menu is pleasingly small containing some classics such as lobster linguine (theatrically finished with some pyrotechnics at the table!), beef wellington and several excellent fish dishes some of which are novel and very successful such as the mackerel tacos, with some seasonal variations (a range of 5 or 6 asparagus dishes at this time of the year). Each dish is perfectly executed. Wines are of excellent quality (including by the glass). Service is attentive but not intrusive. The atmosphere and interior design of the restaurant is smart, a bit glamorous but also informal and fun. On our last visit we had the privilege of being served by Dali who made us feel very welcome and also shared a little of his sense of humour with us, making the evening a thoroughly delightful experience.

Extremely disappointed by the kegeree served here. It was dry and quite tasteless, definitely not worth the price. The decor itself was splendid, but not enough to make up for the food.

Don’t be stupid! How do I avoid being stupid? You ask. Here’s how: Don’t even THINK of dining here and NOT ordering the Beef Wellington. Period. It’s for two people and you should order it even if you’re dining alone! It’s simply perfect (well ours was!) and worth every minute of the 45 spent preparing it. Everything else here was delicious and sophisticated as well, including an amazing knikerbocker glory dessert. But the Wellington was amazing, with the perfectly-made pastry topped with gravy made right at the table. Go there. Eat that. Cheers

I need to understand that London is expensive and we went looking for the beef Wellington experience: it was really good including the service. It is recommended.

Went for breakfast as a family of four. Hadn’t been in a few years but always enjoyed it in the past. Sadly the place has become a completely mediocre tourist trap. Home are the white table cloths, gone are the silver decanters, gone is the exquisite and knowledgeable service. The food was incredibly poor quality. I could taste the vinegar on the eggs benedict. The toast was random sliced. If I’d paid £5 for each of the dishes ima local greasy spoon, I would have been annoyed but at £20+ per dish - this was a sad joke. They also add an *optional* 12% service charge without mentioning or asking. Sad to say this was a terrible experience and another great London establishment down the drain…

Attentive, friendly staff with a relaxed informal dining experience. The raw Cornish mackerel tacos were fantastic. I was hoping for more from the lobster linguine although it comes with quite a show being prepared and flambéed at the table was not as tasty as it could have been.

This is a great spot for breakfast. The scrambled eggs were one of the best I’ve ever had. The seating is comfortable and the staff are friendly. Nice fresh juices, although the serving of them could be improved (too small).

I was in Jermyn Street buying some new shirts and I thought I would have some lunch. I called in at '45'. I would say the experience was 'okay'. The starter, Oxtail soup, was a little bland, the main course, which was liver and bacon was very good. I messed up and ordered lettuce instead of cabbage, as a side, but the waiter was polite and didn't laugh. The main issue was the 45 minute wait between courses. I know the restaurant is called 45 , but I didn't think that also equated to the waiting time between courses. There were certainly plenty of staff on duty, but the two I spoke to were unable to explain the reason for the delay. I guess that will have to remain one of lives great mysteries, as the restraint wasn't busy. It did give me time to watch the Gueridon waiter cook on a nearby table, which I enjoyed.

Dopo parecchi anni sono tornato alle. Origini il. Primo locale in cui ho lavorato nel. 2012 appena arrivato a Londra. Locale sempre carino su due piani il. Secondo piano usato per feste e il. Primo come bar e ristorante. Se non sbaglio è anche cambiata la proprietà non ho visto la manager che c'era prima e Devo dire che meglio così. Cibo non male servizio cordiale. Prezzi un po' alti ma a Londra di non caro non esiste niente.

Previously known as Cellar Gascon. Not sure why they changed its name but c'est la vie. I love this place - been coming for over 20 years. Amazing wine menu - some real treats for the cognoscenti, at very reasonably pricing. Staff are very friendly too.

We came in for a couple of coffees and a pastel de nata. The quality of the coffee is excellent and the pastel de nata was delicious. Prices here are much lower than most high quality cafes.

The food at the restaurant is good, but the noise level is astronomical. The tables are packed very close together and it is impossible to have a conversation with your dining partners because there is so much loud conversation going on around you. We were really not able to enjoy our meal nor hear each other.
