The food was wonderful and the service was excellent!

Fantastic food, superb story. We ate here prior to a concert, and it’s definitely one Of like to re-visit. Great service too; present without being overbearing.

I want to share my experience of visiting this restaurant. 1. In my opinion, it is incredibly and unreasonably expensive and this high cost is not justified by anything, neither the quality nor the sophistication of food and drinks, absolutely nothing. For example, a cup of tea costs 4 pounds, despite the fact that it is not some kind of loose large-leaf tea brewed in a special way (for example, in Japanese, Chinese, etc.), but a cheap simple bag of tasteless tea from a box with 20 or 30 tea bags, which was thrown into your cup and poured with boiling water. 2. The quality of the food is not the highest, it is ordinary, homemade cuisine, unremarkable and completely undeserving of the price that is set in this restaurant. I could agree that this food has such a high price in this restaurant because it is prepared exquisitely, subtly, but this is not the case, because the food is the most ordinary, the level of home cooking of the layman and the taste of the food does not justify its excessively high price. The quality and simplicity of the food do not correspond to the restaurant class. 3. The portions of food are very, very small. It is impossible for an adult to eat such portions. Liquid hot dishes are poured into tiny cups, which correspond in volume to coffee mugs. At the same time, even such a cup is not filled with soup to the brim. I even felt ashamed and uncomfortable when I saw the meager portions. Why aren't the owners ashamed to serve such tiny portions for a lot of money? Surprisingly. 3. Pickled cucumbers contain too much vinegar, so they are unpleasant. These cucumbers are probably very, very small gherkins. I don't understand why a Polish restaurant doesn't serve normal sized pickled cucumbers. 4. The physiognomies of the waiters and the receptionist are gloomy, aloof, cold, dry, formal, as if they are doing their job under duress or only for the purpose of profit. Passing by me from behind, the waiter touched me sensitively, causing concern, but pretended that nothing had happened and did not even apologize. 5. The serving speed is not bad, dishes are served within 20 minutes after ordering. The table setting is not bad. 6. The furnishings and interior are not bad, but there is little free space. Tables are too close to each other, which violates the privacy of visitors' conversations-customers sitting at the next table are listening to your conversation. In addition, the waiters have to wade between the tables and hit the customers. The outdoor terrace, where the tables are located, is covered with plastic wrap, which eliminates the access of fresh air. 7. There was no live music at the time of my visit. 8. There is no ramp at the main entrance to the restaurant for disabled customers in wheelchairs and with crutches and for customers with baby strollers. There is no special staff who would provide assistance to such a category of clients. Conclusion: I will never go to this restaurant again, which does not justify its name and prices of dishes. IT IS EXCESSIVELY, UNJUSTIFIABLY AND UNREASONABLY EXPENSIVE AND THESE PRICES DO NOT CORRESPOND TO THE QUALITY OF FOOD AND SERVICE.

came here for birthday celebration, the atmosphere is great and the food are nice. However, some staff are unfriendly and it felt like we’re not welcomed. They also damaged the birthday cake, and put some other whipped cream over to cover it and the cake looked very different from the original… I can’t comprehend how a restaurant could make such an mistake, and they didn’t compensate or apologise at all

Incredible Polish restaurant, where the taste of tradition has not disappeared—in fact, it is very strong—and is complemented by a modern touch, with absolutely perfect combinations. You can enjoy all the Polish specialties, impeccably prepared. The atmosphere is very beautiful and peaceful, suitable for gatherings with friends and for families. All the staff are absolutely kind and highly competent. Thanks to Ewa and Patryk for inviting me for my birthday and for discovering this gem in London. Absolutely recommended.

As an early birthday treat this spot did not disappoint! As a half pole this place really made me feel proud! From the breathtaking interior to the decadent food and smooth vodka everything was sublime. The dirty vodka martini hit the spot and the raspberry vodka as part of our desert was easily sunken. We got the lunch time menu. 3 courses for £29 feels like we’re sat on a dirty secret as it satisfied the taste buds extremely. Definitely recommend! I’m putting the price range as 40-50 as you can’t leave without trying their range of vodkas, especially as I hear they have an in house distillery!

This is one of my favorite restaurants ever! Some of the greatest service/atmosphere and amazing polish food! I’ve been brought by friends initially but every time since have had the best time here and have never left disappointed! I love the all of the placki, especially the chicken liver! The herring (starter) is delicious and the golabki + the lamb are always solid choices. This time we also had the fried kopytka and the kopytka in mushroom sauce and it was maybe my favorite dish! I can’t fault a single thing we had. Great for every occasion, small groups, bringing family or large dinner celebrations. Keep up the great work!! :)

This is my first time at this restaurant, so much history in this establishment and the food is amazing true Polish cuisine reminds me of my Polish auntie’s cooking. I had pierogi’s to start which was delicious followed by garlic chicken with pickles for mains , the service was excellent and the atmosphere was great . A very comprehensive menu with drinks are available. Booking is advised as it can get busy.

Very mixed feelings about this restaurant. On the positives, this is a lovely building with a lively dining room and extended area to the rear garden. Very busy service that suggests a loyal following. On the negatives, the food and levels of service did not match the environment. Service was very slow. Some of our diners had finished their main courses before others had received theirs. Ordering drinks was tough, we weren't allowed a pre meal drink at the bar and then waited an eternity to be served at the table. The food was generally fine but nothing to get excited about.

O Ognisko oferece o melhor da culinária polonesa sem ocidentalização. Pedi pato assado com cereais, maçãs caramelizadas e molho de beterraba e estava divino. Salsichas polonesas com picles de entrada e um delicioso vinho georgiano pra acompanhar. Não pedi sobremesa. Aviso que o restaurante não é barato, mas vale muito a pena. Se morasse em Londres iria sempre.

Both were delicious, but I personally preferred the duck leg — crispy on the outside, tender inside. The atmosphere was fabulous; we were seated on the terrace, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and a little bit fancy. Service was also excellent — friendly and attentive without being overbearing. A lovely spot for a relaxed afternoon.

Very nice looking interior with a great food and nice stuff. But there were also some thing that we (coming from Poland) consider utterly wrong. First they offer you a water that they will later charge 4.5£ ?!? When u order dumplings from menu they will encourage you to take larger portion - which they do not show in the menu and it is almost as double priced as the standard portion. Finaly they add 13% for service in the final bill without telling you anything. Overall very good food but keep in mind it will cost u 30% more than you initially think.

This was my second time at Ognisko and I was not disappointed! Karolina served us and her approach to the client was fantastic! When our first table did not meet our expectations, she quickly placed us in a great spot. She took care of us for the rest of the evening. We sat in the garden area, which was beautiful. The staff were mediocre, but that may have been due to the number of tables they were responsible for serving. The food was HORRIBLE!!!! This is definitely NOT traditional Polish food. We are from Poland and so we know. Even if we were not expecting traditional food, it was just terrible food in general and far from upscale. £165 for 3 people and we feel very ripped off and disappointed. I do not mind paying that amount if we enjoy our meals, but everything was sub-par. All dishes ordered were way too salty and strange combinations that no Polish person would use. French fries with steak tartare!!??! Steak tartare that arrives pre-mixed!!?!? Do not waste your money!!! This restaurant should be ashamed of the food they are serving and the way they are falsely marketing their establishment. Now we understand why there were no other Polish people dining there - they know it is not real Polish food and are avoiding this restaurant. Lesson learned. YUCK!!!!!! ***UPDATE*** sick all night after dining in this restaurant***

Absolutely loved our experience at Ognisko! We visited the day after completing the London Marathon and were welcomed with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional — we even got to snap a few memorable photos with them! The food was outstanding — full of flavor and beautifully presented. As a special celebration, we tried a few shots of their unique vodka, which was the perfect touch. We couldn’t resist their desserts and coffee either — they looked amazing and tasted even better! I had my wedding meal here earlier this month. Absolutely faultless from start to finish. Every guest who had never been here before was astounded with quality, and the returning guests were equally pleased with upheld standards. The staff were excellent hosts. I couldn't recommend this place more.

We loved the Polish food. The menu is expansive and should satisfy anyone that's looking for a taste from Poland. The location is excellent, with the outside terrace being a requirement if you're going to eat here in spring or summer.

If you are craving for Polish food in London then you should definitely visit this restaurant. It’s more than just restaurant, this is a place with decades of tradition, place where even the Queen and other royals ate. Food is amazing, though portions aren’t big so if you want to be full start with appetizers. The only thing which absolutely disgusted me and in my opinion was totally outrageous was inserting Ukrainian flag on the menu etc., older generations of Poles who were victims of Ukrainians during Second World War will perfectly understand my point. Therefore I don’t give full five stars for bringing “politics” into the sphere of Polish restaurant.

The dumplings were tasty. Since we ordered "only" dumplings (50 pounds for 2 portions), we (2 people) were seated at a tiny table that could barely fit our plates.

Came here for dinner ahead of a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. Delicious dumplings and pierogis, would highly recommend those to share. Flavorful and authentic. Their cocktails are also absolutely out-of-this-world delicious! Main courses were tasty, albeit fairly normal dishes. Tasted like really good home-cooked Polish food. Would recommend eating here, and will come again.

Entre los edificios que representan gran parte de Europa y frente al edificio de la Universidad se encuentra este lugar, a un tiro de piedra del Royal Albert Hall y el mejor lugar para cenar. Hoy es después de un museo y antes de un evento teatral, así que el tiempo corre. Todo, desde el vodka de rábano picante casero con la patada que quería hasta el Schnitzel de cerdo con huevo en la parte superior y pequeñas patatas nuevas, sobresalió y le daría al Gymanasium alemán una carrera para el mejor schnitzel. Came here for lunch on Sunday 12:45, we were able to get a table in the marquee in the sun which was nice but the marquee very quickly filled up by 1pm! We ordered appetizers, starters, mains, sides, desserts, cocktails and vodka shots and we seriously loved the food (the classic pierogi’s are awesome as are the blinis but the best thing for sure is the potato salad that came with the sausage is just wow! Highly recommended to come here for lunch or for dinner. The place is so grand and the service is swift.

We came here on a Sunday afternoon. It is situated in the heart of South Kensington, in a beautiful building. I found that the late Queen was dining here before too. What an honour. The lunch set is really good value. I ordered the beetroot salad, confit duck leg and Chocolate Marquise with Vanilla Ice Cream and Cherry Sauce. Salad of golden and red Beetroots with Goat's Curd & Roast Seeds (v) : it is definitely an interesting taste at the first bite. The sauce is so spicy with the garlic taste, and with strong onion taste. It grew on me, I dipped the bread with the sauce. The beetroot is very sweet and refreshing. Confit duck leg with caramelised apple and red cabbage: I thought it would be like the French version. It came with red cabbage and cooked apple. The sweetness from the garnish is working very well with the duck leg. The leg is very flavourful, a bit salty. But the sweet and sour garnish went very well with the leg. Chocolate marquise: it is a really good dessert. It is not like chocolate mousse, it is hard like a chocolate ice cream cake. The sweetness is just about right. Pan fried sea bream: my partner said it was really good. It looked very healthy too with lots of veggies underneath. Rosé: I had the house Rosé for £8. It is very reasonably priced. Perfect for sunny weather. It is a posh looking restaurant but It is also child friendly. There are many families with babies eating here on the weekends.

Meat eaters were pleased with their choices. But as a vegetarian this place is harder to enjoy. Incorrect bill (not in our favour) given first. But quickly rectified upon query. Still, this was unpleasant. The service is otherwise quick. Our waitress was nice and answered questions promptly.

Service is so slow. Been here over an hour and still not had our main meal. Had to remind them what we ordered. Very busy place. It’s great food but we have a booking at the Albert Hall in 30mins. No time for desert or coffee which was a real shame. They were apologetic and we were compensated for the delay.

Went there again on a Saturday afternoon, when the kitchen was closed, but fortunately the bar area was still open with a limited choices. Got the pierogi - my all times fav😍 would recommend going there for lunch/ dinner for the lovely outdoor seats!

Yesterday I visited a restaurant. Just delighted. Good atmosphere, clean everywhere, friendly waiters and delicious food.

We went for dinner last night - a belated birthday celebration. A really excellent meal - I had the kolduny - lamb dumplings in a broth - which was something new for me and I really enjoyed. We also had some placki to start, which was full of flavour. Service was friendly and pretty efficient. A couple of things prevent this being a 5 star review. Most obviously this restaurant has a wonderful, quite formal dining room - but we weren't in it. We were put in the tent out the back. Pretty, but a bit chilly (out table was against the canvas wall) and not at all as attractive. That's something that should be made clear at booking - plenty of restaurants let you choose a type of table, so this isn't difficult to get right. Second, note that the menu online isn't exactly what you'll get - it does evolve. It was about 90% accurate, but didn't have the fish I'd planned to have, though on the other hand it did have the kolduny which isn't mentioned online. The online menu is dated from mid February - it really shouldn't be difficult to keep this updated more frequently. Finally, I do see from the reviews that they have been having a thing with fake reviews. Tip: always sort reviews by most recent, not the default view - it's really informative. There's a lot of reviews recently with no detail that are 5s and really don't look like the restaurant's demographic. So while this is showing up as a 4.7 - which would place it really high up the rankings - that may be misleading. The management had said this is a scam, but it's not clear what's going on.

We booked a table for our anniversary on February 16th and found the online reservation process to be quick and easy. Arriving around the 1:00PM, luckily, found a parking space close to the restaurant.

This place is a real hidden gem - the food is incredible and you will experience authentic polish flavours and delicacies. The duck confit and everything it comes with is a particular favourite of mine. Then, of course, you have icy clean vodka to wash it all down with - perfect. Reservations are essential as walk-ins are usually turned away (although a couple of times, I have been turned away only to return 15 mins later after making a booking online).

Atmospheric and intimate restaurant, thoroughly enjoyable date night would highly recommend

We booked a table for our anniversary on February 16th and found the online reservation process to be quick and easy. Arriving around 1:00 PM, luckily found a parking space close to the restaurant. For our meal, we ordered the steak tartare, which had a unique taste—different from what we expected but still flavorful and an interesting experience. The roast chicken was excellent, with great taste and seasoning. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Since we were dining with our four-month-old baby, we needed a bit more space for the stroller. Fortunately, they helped arrange a larger seating area, which we had also requested during the online booking process. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant, making for a nice dining experience overall. However, our experience took a turn at the end. As we left the table and moved to the lobby to feed our baby—allowing them to prepare the table for the next guests—one of the staff members abruptly came out and tossed a baby sock into our stroller without saying a word before walking back inside. While I acknowledged it with a “thanks,” the manner in which it was done felt quite rude and left a negative impression. Overall, we had a mostly great experience with delicious food and good service, but that final interaction soured the experience a bit.

The first time we visited this place was great. The second time was a big disappointment and we were very disappointed with the attitude of the staff. They don't listen to the customer, they have their own agenda, like robots, not people. Too many staff who contribute nothing and are very useless. The principle is simple: I pay and I demand it. Cosmic bills for zero standard. We chose you for the special day of the child's graduation, hoping that we would celebrate everything with a gala dinner. It ended up being a big flop. The Polish waitress did not understand the order in Polish, but she did a great favor to serve us. The number of tables is overwhelming and one sits on the back of the other like in a communist bar. Tightness. While sitting at a table in the middle of the room, someone regularly bumped my chair. I couldn't eat in peace. The food wasn't astonishing in taste either, and it didn't wow me to stay in the memory of the guests. I've been to places with less fuss and pomp, the food and atmosphere were great. Very bad impression and I highly do not recommend this restaurant.

Great food, really great food and good cocktails. The staff are more than pleasant, courteous, polite and helpful, though a little slow. The only thing to mar the experience was that the acoustics in the room make it very difficult to hear convivial conversation with one's table guests. This can easily be solved with a few acoustic panels strategically and harmoniously placed. Perhaps and hopefully the management will read this and take up this suggestion. It will hugely improve the dining experience.

We went for dinner as a group of 3. Ordered steak tartar, pierogi, placki and half duck, all to share. All of them were amazing, especially pierogi. Finished with 2 deserts (sernik could have been sweeter) and were more than full. Overall great experience.

Had an amazing meal here. My first time eating authentic Polish cuisine and I was very impressed. The rain outside the terrace was made for a very nice vibe. Have recommended it to friends and will be back soon!

Booked a table, and was greeted with “yeah?” And the table was not available and offered to sit outside. The service is beyond poor. It’s our third and last time here. The food is really expensive but does not reflect the taste or value. Staff are miserable, and do not attend to you. We were offered wine and told we were non-drinkers and no offer of soft drinks or other, and the server just walked off. Felt uncomfortable, chairs were broken. Overall, an awful experience.

I love this place. It's my third time dining there. The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming. The food and the choice is always excellent. The service is friendly and professional and quite fast! I will come back there for sure!
