Chipping Norton is a beautiful Cotswold Village, full of beautiful and historical Cottages on winding roads. Beautiful Market Town with many historical places to visit, great shops, restaurants and Tea rooms. My sisters and I walked by the Cafe Rendezvous and opt to eat here. We were not disappointed. Though we only had an Afternoon Cream Tea, cake, scones and coffee, it was all very tasty and fresh! The Cafe was really cute and the service was good!

As this is practically on my doorstep I'm down there on a regular basis. Lovely tea rooms which also serve light hot and cold snacks when you've finished browsing all the antique stalls contained inside. Really lovely place to visit - any day of the week!

Admittedly the cafe before (who did great bacon sandwiches) made the place smelling but especially in the winter you want some hot food. As stated the service is strange.you never feel welcome when you go? BUT it is a place to read the paper while the other half wonders around a great Antiques Centre. The food, cakes and salads are excellent. I agree the menu seems complicated..we have never been offered a coffee top up.

My friend had a pot of tea, excellent, lots of choice . I had coffee, very goo too. A lovely place in a great setting for afternoon tea.

my 18 year old daughter always asks me to bring her here for lunch as she loves the Brie and cranberry toastie! The cafe is the best thing about Station Mill (though I love a browse too). The menu is extensive and unpretentious, food is fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. Staff are lovely. All in all, it's way better than you'd expect from a cafe in an antiques centre. Clearly many people, like us, come specially for the cafe! Also it's easy to park, unlike the rest of Chippy.

I had lunch while visiting the antique centre where the cafe is located. Although simple, the food was wonderful with huge portions. Truly delicious homemade tomato soup with a large ham + cheese toastie on lovely granary bread. Highly recommended. Note: you can only pay with cash.

Met the Grandparents for a morning coffee and cake. Cakes were good and coffees were good also especially that free top ups are offered which is a nice touch. Staff friendly and helpful. The only off-putting thing is that they charge extra if you wish to share anything! Never seen this anywhere else. Cash only is also strange so take some before you go!

We tour many many antiques centres and have often struggled for anything other than an average tea or coffee and a piece of cake but at Station Mill we were more than pleasantly surprised. Its not a trip out for a big Sunday lunch but its not supposed to be - what it is, is a pleasant environment with some imaginative sandwiches and platters, well prepared with quality produce, prepared and served by people who are bright and cheery and obviously enjoy what they do.It was an added pleasure on our visit, and yes - enough of a pleasure tp make a detour that way again....so many other centres could learn from this, not least the quiet woman down the road!!

MORE AT TripAdvisor

We visited the Antiques Centre and saw the Café in the back and thought it looked quite nice for a bite to eat that afternoon. We sat down and looked at the menu which is quite clumsy, lots of pages of text explaining all about the foods rather than having a one-page view of the list of items. They had a blackboard up advertising an afternoon tea for Mothers Day in a couple of weeks so we asked if they did the afternoon tea that day and they looked at us with a blank expression. We said "The afternoon tea like on the blackboard", they said no that's only on Mothers Day in quite an obnoxious way. So... We ordered a sandwich, cream scones and a pot of tea separately (sandwiches + cream scones + tea = Afternoon Tea!! Not Rocket Science really)We ate then left quite disgruntled, food was ok but service needs a bit of a review! One other thing that annoyed us was that there was an old lady struggling to walk and find a seat so we were about to leave and offered her our seat. The café owners promptly told her not to sit down till they had cleared the table. The poor old dear was tired on her feet, what problems would it have given the staff if she had sat down and rested her feet, they were wanting to wipe the table not the chair we had sat on!!The Antiques Centre is good but we wont go to the café again.

Cafe Rendezvous is a great tea room situated inside Station Mill Antiques centre in Chipping Norton which has become a destination in its own right. It serves delicious lunches, coffee and pastries and teas with homemade cakes. We have been a number of times now either meeting friends for coffee or for lunch. Service is friendly and helpful, lunches are great. Whilst the cafe is in the antique centre, it has a very modern, contemporary feel, with an inventive menu and daily specials. Lots of free parking right outside which is a bonus as the town centre can get very busy at weekends.

This is a really welcome, beautifully renovated addition to the area. A warm and friendly local with stone walls and open fires. Food is very good, modern pub style at a very reasonable price for The Cotswolds. Staff are very friendly and efficient and the clientele are a great combination of locals at the bar, people eating and walkers, cyclists etc calling in for a pint. Been several times since it reopened and all have been good.

Served a Biarra Moretti, didn’t look right, went back to the bar to complain, was told there was nothing wrong with the pint and no chance of changing. Batman very rude.

We had a stay for two nights with two rooms, dinner on evening one and two breakfasts. Positive Points 1. Quality steak 2. Delicious mackerel starter Negative Points 1. Cold and unwelcoming 2. Dirty tables and cutlery 3. Very long wait for food and nobody checked if everything was ok 4. Different change for same drinks every time. 5. No staff....one person does everything! 6. Filthy bedrooms, thick with dust and cobwebs 7. Rooms full of broken items ...mirrors, blinds 8. No slip mat provided for elderly people, so unable to have a shower (my mum was told to throw a towel in the bath!) 9. Extremely old mattress, lumpy and uncomfortable, old duvet with lumps and bumps 10. Linen bundles and beer barrels left outside rooms and at bottom of the stairs...huge fire and safety risk 11. Limited breakfast and very small quantity 12. Coffee and tea not restocked, dirty cups left in room and bed not made 13. Bathroom was rusty, filthy and hadn't been cleaned. Toilets were still dirty from previous guests.
