This is a great little cafe the staff are superb food is extremely well priced absolute banging sausages and coffee is spot on would recommend any dish I've tried all the breakfasts and the brunch is the one to go for and you can mix it up as you like get down there 😋 parking is adequate as its in the high st

Breakfast was really poor. I've had breakfasts all over the place and I've come to accept if you use cheep ingredients you get cheep taste. All breakfasts £8. The pictures look good but when it's on a plate then it all changes. More and more caffs are down sizing the portions and using cheep ingredients. This breakfast was tasteless, scrambled eggs were really poor. Bacon small but passes, Toast was over buttered and the bread was too thick, so it didn't work. The kitchen needs a rethink on how to cook and present to improve on what they have. But today I see unhealthy over weight people just wolf down what's on the plate unfortunately and that's where caffs carry on making a living. Score 3/10

5 star, couldn't be better breakfast brunch. Everything well cooked and tasty (2 eggs, 2 sausages, bacon, lots of mushrooms, tomatoes, 2 slices (4 pieces) of magnificent fried bread, and a cup of cappuccino. All for 8 pounds....8 POUNDS!!!!! Wonderful!!

We needed breakfast on our way down from Cambridge to Dorset so decided to find out if it was anything good in Baldock. We came across this place which is a fantastic “greasy spoon“. I had a brilliant breakfast – bacon, sausage, mushrooms, beans, hashbrowns, black pudding and bubble and squeak plus good coffee and toast all for £9! Imagine what that would’ve cost in a motorway services and much less good quality. Lovely people too - the place has been run by the same family for 21 years and is clearly a hit with the locals. Been here a few times now for lunch and food is always decent. The people running the place are always happy and pleased to serve you compared to other cafes in Baldock.

Me and my mates go here fairly regularly (all the time ;) ) Love the service and food very good quality. Staff are friendly and great to see how inclusive they are.

Visited 2021-2022: this is a proper little builder’s cafe. The menu has a great selection and is your typical cooked breakfasts, chips and ham, omelette, burgers etc. Tea/coffee and toast accompany many of the breakfasts. The staff are always pleasant. There’s a toilet. It is not wheelchair accessible inside however there is outside seating which is.

Me and my dad go here every Sunday and they treat us so well and the food is delicious . You also get great value for money coffee and toast come included with the meal of choice

Cafe Plus is living proof that there are still some places you can get a decent, filling meal at a decent price. The food was fresh and plentiful and most of all served with a smile. Keep it up!!! Thank you!!!

Very little filling (and poor quality) in the sandwiches, which was very surprising as there is a few decent food places close by, this one would be my very last choice in future

If you look at my previous review of Cafe Plus you will see I praise the generosity of the portions sadly on our visit today (the first in a while) we found these have been slashed! I understand that costs have risen in the past months and businesses need to make a profit but to slash the previous good portions and substantially increase prices at the sametime is a real shame. The food is still of reasonable quantity ( in fact the catering quantity sausage is improved) and freshly prepared, however with the smaller portions and increased costs this is nonetheless VFM option as before, maybe time to look at the other venues offering breakfast in the town???

Horrendous breakfast every thing is deep fried bacon sausage mushrooms Black pudding. Surprised the egg and beans wasn't deep fried too. £11.50 to taste cooking fat yuck

Have visited this cafe a few times over the last twelve months The service has always been good, looks basic but don’t let that deceive you Good sized portions, inexpensive and friendly staff

Went there several times, service is always quick, food is good, service nice. Not wheelchair accessible, but there are seats outside during good weather. Bathroom clean. There are extra seats downstairs, although overall the place is a bit tiny. Worth going to though.

I had the worst curry and rice I have ever had in a cafe and I have been in quite a few. They should visit Tewin Road Cafe to see how it should be done. No flavour, watery rice and hardly any chicken in it.

HORRIBLE FOOD I ordered a roast beef and chips for my son and egg, bacon, sausage for me. A cup of coffee for me and diet coke for the boy. The roast beef was thin, as were the chips. My sausage looked horrible. The bacon was hard and dry. My coffee was served in mis-matching cup and saucer. They gave my son two glasses, one of which was dirty. The price of this was £17 and I had to pay in cash. Horrible place, horrible food, horrible prices

I needed to kill some time this morning, went to Cafe Plus for a Tea to take away. The lady working there came outside to take my order which was great. Made the tea 100% perfect. Really friendly and helpful. Thanks.

Very convenient location with experienced, welcoming staff. Just what you'd expect on a traditional cafe menu including a lovely pancake, bacon and maple syrup option which is delicious. They're more than happy to adapt plates to suit individuals and charge very reasonable prices.

Fantastic breakfast stop on our way home after weekend away. Both had Brunch Breakfast - lovely large breakfast. Perfectly cooked. Delicious sausages and poached eggs. Really friendly and clean cafe. Definitely recommend and return!

We visited for brunch on a sunny Sunday. The food was excellent and well-priced, and delivered quickly and served hot. But the staff were not welcoming: not a single smile from any of them, and no response at all when we said thank you or goodbye. Perhaps they didn't want the Sunday morning shift! It's a shame, as it would make a good regular stop, but we just didn't feel welcome.

Been here before nice big portions of food. Staff are OK but mainly all Turkish so you can get odd waiter who bit clueless what you're asking for

Pricing is fair, food ok. They have the best butchers in Hertfordshire right across the road, should source better meats

Have had a few pickups and the majority of times orders have been wrong. The last time my sausage was cut up, despite request it wasn't, this made my meal egg and chips. It cost me £6 and no refund for a meal that I was able to eat that cost no more than £1.50! Not coming here anymore

Nice hot coffee great staff clean

From the outside, this is just another unprepossessing cafe. Inside, it is very small but soooo friendly and spotlessly clean. The menu is comprehensive and the food quality superb. Prices are very reasonable, service is quick and efficient. This place will definitely be on the itinerary next time I pass through.

I thought it was very good. We had well cooked food and fresh salad. The prices are extremely reasonable too.

We shared a bacon and egg in a mini roll, which was enough for 2. Coffee ‘n’ tea. Good value. Looks clean and tidy. Staff are friendly and attentive. Recommended.

We are a group of cyclists and this is our regular tea and tea cake stop on a Saturday morning. Lovely staff, great tea and tea cakes at a ridiculously low price. No wonder it is always busy!

Very nice staff, food is fine and lots of it, worth every penny for the amount you pay, need to have s bug appetite. Nice for a catch up with friends, or just, pop in for a cuppa.

Went to this cafe on a Saturday morning with my pregnant wife, son and grandson, we all ordered the traditional breakfast and whilst eating hers my wife noticed a chunk of raw bacon under the cooked bacon!!! Worst part is when confronted the owner of this establishment did not really apologise but simply said “I won’t charge you for the bacon” after a conversation he did not charge us for her breakfast, but quite frankly was disgusted with his attitude, this kind of practice can make you really ill.

More like cafe minus. Everything was over cooked. Place is in need of a refurb. Service was minimal. Staff eating in the kitchen. 2 stars because at least it was cheap. Won't go back and can't recommend.

The best breakfast in Hertfordshire fab food frendly and courteous staff

After driving for over 2 hours decided we wanted a cuppa.Parked right outside the cafe and went in and ordered 2 teas.We could not believe the price as it was so reasonable.A lovely big mug at half the price of most places. We sat on the window seats and watched the world go by before continuing our journey. The place was clean and tidy and the waitress bought our drinks to the table quickly.

I have visited Café Plus a number of times over the years- more recently a couple of times at the end of July, and simply the fact that I keep returning is the best recommendation I can give.My sister and I went to Café Plus for lunch, she had omelette and chips, (excellent with plenty of chips) and I had a combination of bacon, egg, sausage, and the best portion of bubble and squeak I've had in ages. The strength of Cafe Plus is the fact that you can order any combination of items to make up an all day breakfast - pure heaven! Well done Cafe Plus - a food oasis in Baldock!

This is a new cafe bar in the town, used to be a gift shop and travel agent. The decor was very good BUT THE COFFEE WAS awful

Have visited this cafe several time and the food is always good. Its a typical high street cafe with a wide selection of all day breakfasts and similar meals. Everything is cooked to order and the place is clean and well kept.

Pancakes were delicious, wouldn't recommend the cherry one but the bacon one was great. Nice staff and great atmosphere.

We generally visit Cafe Plus of a weekend when breakfast at home is too much to organise or the cupboard is bare!

Ahora hemos visitado además de café, unas 4 veces. Esta última visita hoy 22/6/16. Tengo una tortilla de champiñones y judías. preciosa Bien, nada especial que pueda decir. Pero siempre cortés, servicio rápido (cuando tenemos el desayuno no tenemos tiempo para hacer en el momento). Todos los cubiertos, platos, mesas eran extremadamente limpia y la comida buena y caliente. Siento que el tamaño de las porciones son buenas y siempre nos dan una buena taza de té.

Siempre me preocupe cuando un menú tiene fotos, pero esta estaba bien. El desayuno estaba bien, pero la presentación no fue la prioridad. La comida era de buena calidad pero el producto era sub estándar, me sorprendió cuando se quedaron sin pan y tesco trajo pan básico. Personal muy amable y la comida está bien pero recibes lo que pagas

I have come to this cafe many times and I have never left disappointed. Amazing food, amazing coffee and enormous portions. I can't praise this cafe enough. But one thing that makes a visit 50 times better is the amazing customer service and the smelling faces. P.S. im one of the blonde twins

Needed to kill 15mins, so nipped in for a quick hot drink, the staff were very friendly even though they didn't speak much English, lovely hot chocolate!

From start to finish the service was really good and the breakfast was lovely real good value for money and I would recommend it.

We're back again to this lovely local cafe.... We go there often. And the food is still very good for the price, although we can only comment on the all day breakfasts lol. The omelette breakfast is fab value for money...£6 and free coffee/ tea and toast. The coffee is wonderful tooPay it a visit as the staff are hard working and very friendly
