A very nice place for breakfast

Visited 2021-2022: this is a proper little builder’s cafe. The menu has a great selection and is your typical cooked breakfasts, chips and ham, omelette, burgers etc. Tea/coffee and toast accompany many of the breakfasts. The staff are always pleasant. There’s a toilet. It is not wheelchair accessible inside however there is outside seating which is.

Me and my dad go here every Sunday and they treat us so well and the food is delicious . You also get great value for money coffee and toast come included with the meal of choice

Very little filling (and poor quality) in the sandwiches, which was very surprising as there is a few decent food places close by, this one would be my very last choice in future

Horrendous breakfast every thing is deep fried bacon sausage mushrooms Black pudding. Surprised the egg and beans wasn't deep fried too. £11.50 to taste cooking fat yuck

Went there several times, service is always quick, food is good, service nice. Not wheelchair accessible, but there are seats outside during good weather. Bathroom clean. There are extra seats downstairs, although overall the place is a bit tiny. Worth going to though.

I had the worst curry and rice I have ever had in a cafe and I have been in quite a few. They should visit Tewin Road Cafe to see how it should be done. No flavour, watery rice and hardly any chicken in it.

HORRIBLE FOOD I ordered a roast beef and chips for my son and egg, bacon, sausage for me. A cup of coffee for me and diet coke for the boy. The roast beef was thin, as were the chips. My sausage looked horrible. The bacon was hard and dry. My coffee was served in mis-matching cup and saucer. They gave my son two glasses, one of which was dirty. The price of this was £17 and I had to pay in cash. Horrible place, horrible food, horrible prices

Very convenient location with experienced, welcoming staff. Just what you'd expect on a traditional cafe menu including a lovely pancake, bacon and maple syrup option which is delicious. They're more than happy to adapt plates to suit individuals and charge very reasonable prices.

Fantastic breakfast stop on our way home after weekend away. Both had Brunch Breakfast - lovely large breakfast. Perfectly cooked. Delicious sausages and poached eggs. Really friendly and clean cafe. Definitely recommend and return!

We visited for brunch on a sunny Sunday. The food was excellent and well-priced, and delivered quickly and served hot. But the staff were not welcoming: not a single smile from any of them, and no response at all when we said thank you or goodbye. Perhaps they didn't want the Sunday morning shift! It's a shame, as it would make a good regular stop, but we just didn't feel welcome.

Been here before nice big portions of food. Staff are OK but mainly all Turkish so you can get odd waiter who bit clueless what you're asking for

Pricing is fair, food ok. They have the best butchers in Hertfordshire right across the road, should source better meats

Have had a few pickups and the majority of times orders have been wrong. The last time my sausage was cut up, despite request it wasn't, this made my meal egg and chips. It cost me £6 and no refund for a meal that I was able to eat that cost no more than £1.50! Not coming here anymore

Nice hot coffee great staff clean

From the outside, this is just another unprepossessing cafe.Inside, it is very small but soooo friendly and spotlessly clean.The menu is comprehensive and the food quality superb. Prices are very reasonable, service is quick and efficient.This place will definitely be on the itinerary next time I pass through.

I thought it was very good. We had well cooked food and fresh salad. The prices are extremely reasonable too.

We shared a bacon and egg in a mini roll, which was enough for 2. Coffee ‘n’ tea. Good value. Looks clean and tidy. Staff are friendly and attentive. Recommended.

We are a group of cyclists and this is our regular tea and tea cake stop on a Saturday morning. Lovely staff, great tea and tea cakes at a ridiculously low price. No wonder it is always busy!

Very nice staff, food is fine and lots of it, worth every penny for the amount you pay, need to have s bug appetite. Nice for a catch up with friends, or just, pop in for a cuppa.

Went to this cafe on a Saturday morning with my pregnant wife, son and grandson, we all ordered the traditional breakfast and whilst eating hers my wife noticed a chunk of raw bacon under the cooked bacon!!!Worst part is when confronted the owner of this establishment did not really apologise but simply said “I won’t charge you for the bacon” after a conversation he did not charge us for her breakfast, but quite frankly was disgusted with his attitude, this kind of practice can make you really ill.

Lovely and friendly place good sized portions very reasonably priced.

More like cafe minus. Everything was over cooked. Place is in need of a refurb. Service was minimal. Staff eating in the kitchen. 2 stars because at least it was cheap. Won't go back and can't recommend.

The best breakfast in Hertfordshire fab food frendly and courteous staff

After driving for over 2 hours decided we wanted a cuppa.Parked right outside the cafe and went in and ordered 2 teas.We could not believe the price as it was so reasonable.A lovely big mug at half the price of most places. We sat on the window seats and watched the world go by before continuing our journey. The place was clean and tidy and the waitress bought our drinks to the table quickly.

I have visited Café Plus a number of times over the years- more recently a couple of times at the end of July, and simply the fact that I keep returning is the best recommendation I can give.My sister and I went to Café Plus for lunch, she had omelette and chips, (excellent with plenty of chips) and I had a combination of bacon, egg, sausage, and the best portion of bubble and squeak I've had in ages. The strength of Cafe Plus is the fact that you can order any combination of items to make up an all day breakfast - pure heaven! Well done Cafe Plus - a food oasis in Baldock!

This is a new cafe bar in the town, used to be a gift shop and travel agent. The decor was very good BUT THE COFFEE WAS awful

Have visited this cafe several time and the food is always good. Its a typical high street cafe with a wide selection of all day breakfasts and similar meals. Everything is cooked to order and the place is clean and well kept.

Pancakes were delicious, wouldn't recommend the cherry one but the bacon one was great. Nice staff and great atmosphere.

We generally visit Cafe Plus of a weekend when breakfast at home is too much to organise or the cupboard is bare!

Ahora hemos visitado además de café, unas 4 veces. Esta última visita hoy 22/6/16. Tengo una tortilla de champiñones y judías. preciosa Bien, nada especial que pueda decir. Pero siempre cortés, servicio rápido (cuando tenemos el desayuno no tenemos tiempo para hacer en el momento). Todos los cubiertos, platos, mesas eran extremadamente limpia y la comida buena y caliente. Siento que el tamaño de las porciones son buenas y siempre nos dan una buena taza de té.

Siempre me preocupe cuando un menú tiene fotos, pero esta estaba bien. El desayuno estaba bien, pero la presentación no fue la prioridad. La comida era de buena calidad pero el producto era sub estándar, me sorprendió cuando se quedaron sin pan y tesco trajo pan básico. Personal muy amable y la comida está bien pero recibes lo que pagas

I have come to this cafe many times and I have never left disappointed. Amazing food, amazing coffee and enormous portions. I can't praise this cafe enough. But one thing that makes a visit 50 times better is the amazing customer service and the smelling faces. P.S. im one of the blonde twins

Needed to kill 15mins, so nipped in for a quick hot drink, the staff were very friendly even though they didn't speak much English, lovely hot chocolate!

From start to finish the service was really good and the breakfast was lovely real good value for money and I would recommend it.

We're back again to this lovely local cafe.... We go there often. And the food is still very good for the price, although we can only comment on the all day breakfasts lol. The omelette breakfast is fab value for money...£6 and free coffee/ tea and toast. The coffee is wonderful tooPay it a visit as the staff are hard working and very friendly

i went in here a few weeks ago for a late lunch, well breakfast. i found this cafe very good value for money, good food and very clean, no sticky tables lolothers have dissed the lack of service.....its not a restaurant, its a small cafe so what do u expect?I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS CAFE and baldock is a very nice place

I went in here on a Sunday for a breakfast. It really was nothing special. The order was taken at the till without a smile or a welcome. When it was brought to my table the waitress again had no smile or communication despite my charm of "Thank You Very Much" She just silently dumped the plate down on the table turned and walked away! In fact I didn't see the staff smile or interact all the time that I was there with customers. The decor was old and really was a cramped environment. Dissapointed.

Been to this cafe a 3 times now and the service, standard of food have always been good the cafe is busy but Ive not had any problems getting a table. Price is fair.

A small but busy cafe, we have eaten here several times and it is good value , plenty of chips and quite a big menu. Clean tables and pleasant staff. Always busy too.

Stopped off with a friend as needed to feed my son. First of all couldn't get my pushchair inside so had to fold it up and leave it outside, secondly couldn't see a highchair or at any point get enough attention from the lady to ask. Sat and waited with only two other customers, both were eating and we waited 15 minutes until we had to get the waitresses attention to see us. Ordered and got our food, just placed down in front of us, no words or anything, it was cold and greasy, not appetising. Not sure if I would go in again.

This is a great little cafe. It IS a no frills 'greasy spoon', but it does exactly what it says on the tin. The breakfasts (the only meals I've eaten here) are hot, plentiful, tasty and great value. For less than £6 you get a huge hot breakfast, a tea or coffee, plus toast. In the 'affluent South' that is great value.The staff are friendly and fast. Yes, the decor is not what you'd associate with fine dining, but the cafe doesn't claim to be anything it's not. It's functional, spotlessly clean and I like it for its unpretentiousness. The world needs more cafes like this in it to keep us grounded. I wouldn't change a thing.

On our way home, we had travelled 80 miles and with another 70 to go we needed a stop. We were looking for a nice tea & cake but had difficulty finding somewhere. We parked nearby and thought this cafe looked good from the outside. We walked into the past... 1960's style decor which had seen better days. We should have turned back. We stayed for builders mugs of tea and coffee and we had to change the tea! Tim had chilli & rice - the rice was very wet. I had a Tuna Jacket which was enormous served with a side salad. Not enjoyable though. We were glad to leave.

Cafe plus is a very nice place to go if you want a calm and plesant place to eat, Cafe plus has variety in the menu and everything there is made fresh, so if you want a cafe you can bring someone to, then cafe plus is for you.
