We met our daughter for lunch at cafe pie mash at Keston as she recommended it, they both had pie mash & loved it, I had liver & bacon & again food is delicious, staff all very pleasant & efficient, prices are really good, totally recommend this cafe

I eat here with my friend most weeks and can definitely confirm that it is not a greasy spoon! If you want something light just ask as the staff are super friendly and polite, and the Chef (Omar) is a real character and wears the most unusual hat. Try and get a booth seat and don’t be afraid to ask for what you want as a breakfast combo.

This is a great caffe, very good food, friendly staff and very good service. Never been disappointed since the new owners have taken over. Recommended it

Definitely a greasy spoons, way too much though for us. It is good value for money if that's what you want, but we both left with tummy pains due to the amount of grease. A shame, as we had both been looking forward to a cooked breakfast. Menus definitely need a clean. They certainly aren't cleaned regularly.

Classic food, nice friendly staff - Food is always hot and fresh . The wood benches are awful though. Cripple me when I have sat on them.

Family day out to collect some cars and what a wonderful day this cafe made it! The staff were friendly and helpful. We had 2 pie n mash and 1 corned beef and egg. All of the meals were lovely, we like to consider ourselves ‘pie and mash connoisseurs’ (ha!) and this was good and at a very reasonable price! I’m sure we will visit again.

We ordered pie and mash here for collection and it was by far the worst I’ve had, not even close to what you would traditionally call pie and mash. Dry crusty pies with questionable meat inside, lots of watery brown gravy flowed out of the pies as soon as you cut into them also. Avoid for pie and mash.

Doesn’t matter when you go, the service is always good, friendly and the food is well cooked and great value. Having pie mash too is fantastic. Coming from the Walworth Rd it is great pie and mash just like Arments as I remember.

I’ve made 2 recent visits for lunch due to working locally. Delicious chicken & ham pie with mash & veg. Just a shame the staff aren’t particularly friendly but I’ve sometimes found that with places that have become successful and, in turn, complacent. Why? On both visits the waitress with dark hair seemed particularly full of herself for some odd reason but that pie was so yummy I’ll probably still return whilst the local job is running

It was lovely sitting down in the booth to find chewing gum on the menu, really shows they take hygiene seriously.. and then to be greeted with a grunt from the lovely waitress. She expected our full oder as soon as our arse hit the seat. When we said we didnt know yet she left for two minutes and came back and grunted again. She done this twice till i didnt even wanna eat there anymore. Maybe the amount of lipfiller stopped her getting her words out im not sure but definitely wont be going back.

We had some french visiting for the weekend and decided to do the London tourist sights on the Saturday. I decided to bring them for brunch at our local cafe. They all had a breakfast fry up with toast and coffee. They really enjoyed their food (had never tasted baked beans) and to be honest it was very convenient for me as I didn't have to cook. Quick efficient service and clean loos!

Popped in here for pie and mash, and it was awful! There was hardly no mince inside the pie! It looked like cat food literally. No flavour what so ever. Definitely won’t be going back. It’s should just be a cafe NOT pie and mash as they don’t do it right!

I popped into the Cafe Pie and Mash on a Sunday morning. My friend and I had a busy day ahead and wanted a good breakfast to set us up. We weren't disappointed! The basic breakfast is very reasonably priced at £5.50 including a coffee/tea. The bacon was delicious, the egg cooked exactly the way I like it (yolk still nice and runny, the slices of tomato were grilled, and the mushrooms were plentiful and very tasty. The waiting staff and chefs were super friendly and the service was quick. I would go again. The reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars was that the coffee wasn't that great, but this isn't a coffee shop after all so I can't complain. The first coffee I got was so milky I asked for another one, black with milk on the side. That was way better, but still not amazing.

This is a brilliant cafe. Food is always of good standard. Having pie mash on the menu is an added bonus. It’s as good as manzi’s and Arments p&m

Two of us had the pie and mash after we finally got the waitresses attention. Food came quick though. Pie was hard on outside nice on the inside though. Was ok

I've just had food at this Cafe when I walked in and sat down I was seated not even five seconds and they Eastern European lady came over to me with dark hair ask me and my business partner what We would like to eat my business partner ordered pie mash and a coffee and a Tea I asked if I could have a couple more. Minutes to look into the menu and see what I would like I could not believe when she said in a really abrupt voice if I don't order now our food won't come out together I was made to feel that I was rushed into ordering whatever was on the menu she was very sarcastic very unfriendly Richard across me to get stuff off the table without asking and all in all I'll be very aware if anyone ever eats here again

Primero encontramos este mientras visitaba a un pariente en un hospital cercano. Paramos de camino a casa y el pastel de puré con extra n de licores. Era justo lo que nos recordaba que desde antiguo. Hoy hemos decidido ir en coche simplemente por el pastel n puré pero no pude encontrar ningún aparcamiento, decidí mientras mi coche marido para conseguir una llevar ya habíamos viajado tan lejos. Cuando llegamos a casa me calentado a través y fue encantador. Recomiendo este lugar. El personal era muy amable y muy educado.

But good pie and mash even conjured up some chili vinegar. Busy for a Sunday lunchtime and much more inviting than the golden arches down the road. If you don't fancy a pie the breakfasts and grills looked good as well, will be back

We continually return to this Cafe. Their pie n mash is excellent and we certainly recommend it. The cafe is clean and the staff efficient and polite

Had a tasty house breakfast, great service. I ordered brown bread and changed my mind once it was brought to my table. They changed it to toast without any fuss.

Lovely clean cafe with very friendly staff. The menu is huge with apart from the delicious pie and mash, full english breakfasts plus all the usual cafe fare. They do milkshakes and all sorts of teas and coffees and childrens portions as well. The place is even open on a Sunday - would recommend to all.

Had a good cooked breakfast in here , the pie n mash is expensive and not particularly filling, liquor costs 80p by itself.

This is a very nice cafe which also does very nice pie mash. Nice friendly people, nice and clean and clean toilets. You can go there just for pie mash or a nice breakfast.

Have eaten here on quite a few occasions always good service and food, i normally go for the pie & mash which is great for me, there is a very good varied menu to suit everyone.

My local cafe with a huge menu, lots of options from various breakfasts, grills and rpast dinners . . . plus the pie and mash offerings too. Always good service and quick food delivery. I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal here. It gets busy Saturday lunchtimes.

I have been here 3 times now with my brother in law. Very good pie and mash!The prices seems cheap compared to the good quality. However the staff seemed abit stressed last time as the place was packed. But will be back as it is a lovely little treasure in bromley!

I visit this cafe at least twice a week, the pie and mash is very nice, the roast dinners are also excellent for a cafe. The staff are very friendly.

What an amazing, clean place with really DELICIOUS pie and mash. Didn't want to travel all over London to experience so-called 'real' pie and mash so opted to try here. So pleased I did. Already planning my next visit. Wholly recommended. Ten out of ten.

Nicely presented quality cafe. Also sells Pie and Mash which is just like used to have 50years ago. Took 82 year old mum there who has eaten Pie and Mash since childhood and her praise of the dish says it all. Other food looked good and cooking area spotless. A cut above many cafés have visited.

We live round the corner from this cafe and were delighted when they opened as pie and mash is a firm family favourite. I was bought up on the 'real' stuff in South London from the more famous shops and this cafe certainly holds it's own. The pies are filled nicely with tasty meat and have a good pastry that's crisp on top. The mash is lovely and smooth and seasoned well. The liquor is fantastic. Add chilli vinegar and white pepper and the meal is perfect. They also serve gravy too. The other food on offer is of great quality too. If you're looking for a very decent fry up or burger you can't go wrong. The staff are very friendly and welcome children. All in a very reasonably priced place. Highly recommended.

Lovely little Cafe, clean, excellent service and meal portions are large. Have eaten there many times. Love their fry-ups! Would recommend this place. It is always busy. They are now open on Sundays too.

We are now half way through 2014 and I'm pleased to say the Cafe is still maintaining the high standards it set when it opened. My wife and I have had both breakfasts and lunches here and we've never been disappointed. Good quality food, well cooked and served with a smile (even when busy) Well done keep it up.

Went there primarily for the pie and mash, which was delicious if a little bit pricey. But well worth it if your an addict like me! Was surprised to see what a range of other food they do. Restaurant looked clean and pleasant and staff very helpful.

Been here a few timea staff are very friendly, food is top notch love the pie and mash!Does get very busy at lunch time but thats to be expected from a top notch cafe.

I live round the corner from this cafe and have passed it so many times but never gone in. However before going on a long trip we thought "let's pop in and have a late cooked breakkie" glad we did, much larger inside than you'd think from outside. Very clean and tidy. Excellent food and we couldn't resist a pudding too! They deserve to do well and for the word to spread how good they are for a local cafe. Well done.

As the name suggests this great café does pie and mash and you should try it along with the chilli vinegar! The café is clean and the staff are friendly. I have extensively surveyed many of the cafes in the area and this is the best. The breakfasts are great value and this place uses proper sausages not the normal café sausage. It can get very busy around lunchtime which gives the place a buzzing atmosphere. Go and enjoy!

We have now had 11 meals here, both breakfasts and lunches, and I'm pleased to say the high standards are being maintained.

Have driven past here many times since I noticed it open a few months back. Finally got around to checking it out and pleased to see a very friendly (and pretty!!) familiar face behind the tills, previously from one of the cafes in Locksbottom. Only had a bacon baguette, but very tasty it was. Busy café with the food looking good, will stop by again when I have time for a sit down and will report back with feedback. Good first visit.

Been twice. Loved the food. Everything is good quality - the sausages are excellent, the food is really nicely presented, not greasy like some other cafes.Friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

Bought me bird in here for a bit of lunch, well I can say it was very nice. I went for the pie and mash option, which is recommended. Very filly very nice. The place is very clean and modern feel. It tops it off with the staff being so friendly with service and banter. Will definitely come back as the prices were pretty cheap too. Worth coming here. Cheers

Bromley common has needed a high quality cafe for the 30 years I have been living there. The Cafe Pie & Mash opened its doors in early 2013 and did not disappoint anybody. The cafe is situated on the Hastings Road opposite the Shell Garage on the A21 about half a mile from Locksbottom. It is conveniently set back in a small parade of shops. Free parking outside, or in Knowle Road, Jackson Road, the Shell garage and even the Macdonald's a 100 yards away.My title sets the scene for you to understand how special this cafe is "Cleanest and Highest Quality Cafe". Let me start by telling you about the fixtures and fittings, they are 1st class. The toilets are as good as a 4 star hotel, the tables and chairs are the best you will find, better than most expensive restaurants. The cleanliness of the cafe is second to none, the staff properly clean down each table after use, ready for the next diners. Now let me tell you about the food, they use only top quality ingredients prepared and cooked by a man who is simply a genius. I have eaten there a few dozen times and I will continue to do so because of the quality and variety on offer. Nowhere in all my travels have I found such good quality food, cooked and served so professionally at such a reasonable price. This cafe specialises in Pie & Mash, a traditional English meal. They have a dedicated on site chef making just the pie & mash, I have eaten the pie & mash a few times, the pies have no fat inside them, just pure mince beef. The pastry is also home made and a beautiful golden brown of the highest quality. The mash is perfect, not full of salt, you can always add salt to your liking. My favourite meal at the moment is part of their Italian range, in particular, the Lasagne and salad. I have also eaten some of their huge specials, the Liver & Bacon meal is just awesome. They do steak & chips, baked potato meals, salads, burgers, and remember, everything they create, can all be taken away. The cafe has a top quality coffee machine, serving a variety of coffees better than I have had in town, several different types of tea are also on offer, enough to satisfy all ... What else can I say about the best cafe the world today ? I just wish they stayed open later than 4pm Monday to Saturday, and 1pm on a Sunday.
