This is a great cantina! The staff is super friendly, the space and music are great and the food is delicious. We had the chips and salsa, the chicken fajitas, which were grilled perfectly, and the burrito especial with chicken. Everything is delicious. We will definitely return here for another meal during our short visit to London. The staff is super nice as well. Oh, the tequila selection and cocktails are great too. Plus Carlos, the owner, is very friendly, welcoming and fun. Go!

The food was great and the service excellent. Some dishes were a bit overpriced but in general positive experience. One thing that we would like was the background music to be a bit lower sometimes.

TL;DR: Great food! B i g portions. Tucked away eatery in covent garden with great mexican food, and great gluten free options. A good choice for a casual ambience (good music, nice decor). Food has great flavours - I've been many times and can recommend essentially everything on the menu. One note is that food portions are large compared to other restaurants in London at a similar price point. Order less, or be prepared to take some home!

There’s a bone inside the chimichanga, told the staff and heard nothing back. Never tried the item before, but I’d expect it to be hotter than lukewarm considering it was fried.

Bit loud but the service and food were fantastic! We had lunch and was just superb.

Best Mexican food in London I have tested!

Great for gluten free options, they had options available that are not always available in Mexicans which was a nice treat. We are both coeliac and had a great time eating here. It was obvious to our waiter we had a good allergy before we sat down as there was a little note on our table. Food was super tasty, along with the cocktails! Customer service was good & friendly!

A fun restaurant for evening tacos and margaritas. We tried the chicken chimichanga and then the street tacos (five different corn tortillas). The first was quite nice but the tacos were mostly average and some were quite dry and could’ve done with more sauce / seasoning.

Lovely atmosphere, transported to another place - you wouldn’t believe you were in London. Looking quite inconspicuous down a side street this restaurant served the most amazing Mexican food at a reasonable price! Would highly recommend

Lively atmosphere, in a quirky and hip Authentic Mexican Restaurant. The restaurant is incredibly popular so you will need to book in advance. I wasn't a fan of the mixed taco street food dishes but definitely recommend the Empanadas and Taco Al Pastor which were amazing! The drinks selection was great and would definitely recommend one of the Authentic Mexican drinks.

First visit to the restaurant and although the atmosphere is nice and the food was middle-of-the-road, the service at the bar was awful. The bartender ignored my wife and I for a good 10 minutes from the start. Considering there were only 5 people at the bar this was already off to a bad start. After we finally placed our food and drink orders that was the last we saw of the bartender. Occasionally we caught sight of him playing on his phone or twirling an empty glass but certainly not servicing the customers. No eye contact. No “how is your food or drinks”. No water refills (not a good idea for a Mexican restaurant). My wife and I will usually have 2-3 margaritas over the course of a dinner while (especially while on vacation) we had one round and that was due largely to being ignored. Also ordered guacamole that never showed up. All in all a fairly poor experience and the food wasn’t good enough to give them another shot. Hostess that closed out the tab seemed uninterested in our concerns.

We ordered a few dishes and drinks. Apart from tacos, we were satisfied with the food and service. I guess they changed the brand of their tacos as it wasn’t very crispy as I experienced before:( For me, it’s still one of the best Mexican for restaurants in London. Hope they will consider my opinion about tacos. In the meantime, their espresso martini was so good😊

Came here on Tuesday for my brother’s birthday as we always pass the restaurant and were craving Mexican. The food did not disappoint! We were sat near the live band and bar so it was a bit loud for my elderly mother and we found ourselves shouting through conversation, though not a huge deal and it was positive vibes all around! Our server Karina deserves a special mention as she was really helpful with mine and my mum’s food preferences and enabled us to enjoy our entire meal through brilliant recommendations. Also cannot forget to mention the delicious tres leches dessert. I’ve been wanting to try it for ages and glad I did - we all loved it! Will definitely be coming back!

Well located near Covent Garden and useful for lunch. Burritos were tasty and the service good. The downside was noise level, not helped by the hard surfaces everywhere. Perhaps that’s what makes it authentic. Plenty of other restaurants nearby unless you’re particular about Mexican.

I tried the nachos, empanadas, baja tacos, and Birria tacos and I like the nachos and birria tacos the most.

This place is a disgrace, it is old, tacky, the food is greasy and really not up to the level and on top of it it is super expensive for the garbage they dare to serve.

Always consistently good ! Service is always very attentive and food always great. Been coming here with my family for many years. Sometimes a little noisy at busy times. But still my fav restaurant in london.

Severely overpriced for average (at best) Mexican-inspired food. This is the place for you if you want to spend £20 for 2 tacos flavourless tacos (you waited 20min for). Some of the drinks were good according to others, but not the classic Margarita: somehow both too strong and watery at the same time. The only plus side is that it is easy to find a table last minute (but I now see why).

Omg what’s happened to cafe Pacifico!? This used to be one of my favourite Mexicans but it’s honestly gone down hill. Inedible nachos because the cheese was barely melted, el pastor sooo chewy with stale bits of flat bread. The service was sooo bad. Why is your service staff so miserable? Then automatically adds a 13% service charge (out of your mind!). The food cost £45 each which I still regret paying. Has this been taken over by new management? Can only guess the positive reviews are coming from tourists that are happy to not be sitting at an Angus steak house!

Probably the most boring Mexican food I've had. Perfectly edible but generic and overpriced. Nice space for a drink though.

Always a great experience at this fantastic historic Mexican restaurant very close to Covent Garden

Went out for a joint birthday dinner with me and my partner yesterday (7/7/24) and spent £110 for abysmal service and cold, inedible and bland food. All poultry and meat dishes came either cold or lukewarm, the rice was severely overcooked and the starters they didn’t even bother to attempt to warm these or melt the cheese atop of it. Rude servers rushing you through your meal and the drinks were very very poor. They also have the audacity to charge you for the tap water they forcefully place on your table. Would not recommend not even to my worst enemy.

There is a really nice vibe here. the staff are friendly and happy to recommend dishes. We ordered 2 mocktails which were yummy and the vegetarian Fajitas. the fajitas were enough to share and they top up the tortilla wraps if you need more. it was nice but could have done with a little more seasoning I wasn't a fan of the breaded jalapenos we ordered on the side

First visit since lockdown, and what a disappointment. Have been visiting this establishment regularly for 40 years, but moved away from London a while ago. Dropped in tonight for dinner, and the food had zero spice or flavour. Not only that, but the fajitas - which were always sizzling hot when delivered - were lukewarm and made with poor quality stewing beef, rather than the steak we always used to get. Apparently, the restaurant was taken over by new owners a few years ago. They’re obviously managing for cost rather than quality, which is why we won’t be coming back again.

Unable to give a full review due to problems in the kitchen. Told our main would not arrive until over an hour after we arrived by, I think, the manager who was obviously guessing. The disappointing part for me was the table behind us who arrived a long time after we arrived received their mains before us. We had to get to a show, couldn't wait around on the basis that our food might arrive within 20 minutes (well over an hour after we arrived) when the manager obviously had no idea how long it would be. The service staff were brilliant, only gets 3 stars because of them. Managers who shrug their shoulders get scores reduced.

I had the best service from start to finish! The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The cocktails were fantastic! Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Everything was really nice, especially the chilli topped nachos, the pulled pork tacos were REALLY salty, we didn't enjoy those as much.

Delicious! Best mexican food I've ever had

This is the third time we have visited on various trips to London, and I would go back again. Staff are always friendly, food is always great and served quickly. The only let down is that I don’t drink alcohol, and in 2024 I would expect places to have at least some form of alcohol free selection of drinks.

Good was good, not great. We had the nachos which were reasonable but just cheese and chips. Fajhita chicken was so dry and almost inedible. Tacos were good. Cocktails were not good, and surely it’s difficult to get a margarita and martini wrong? Way too much syrup / sugar! Service was good and friendly but no atmosphere at all.

We have eaten at the restaurant loads of times in the past and it’s a favourite of ours however after not going for a while today we drove into London just to go and it was absolutely awful. I had chicken and prawn fajita’s and the chicken tasted as though it had been cooked then re-cooked so very tough. My other half now has a bad stomach 🤦‍♀️

We had a lovely pre theatre meal at Cafe Pacifico. The service was fantastic with friendly staff. We enjoyed our meal (shared nachos and 2 tasty chicken enchiladas) but the rice and refried beans that come with it were pretty bland. The mojitos were very good. It was busy with a lively ambience. Price is good for central London. We will come here again.

Atmosphere absolutely classic Mexican grill bar and is ok for me. Chimichanga was so good. Tacos and quesadillas were almost perfect. Pomelo was incredibly awesome. I strongly recommend here

Fantastic service and food, would highly recommend

Went to a theatre down the road, and fancies Mexican. There is a great vibe in here and the decor is fun. Service was quick and friendly and the food was delicious. Relatively pricey, but quite standard for the area. The michelada was the best I've had in a while, highly recommend that.

Amazing food, perfect service (came at good times when necessary), and the atmosphere was brilliant. This was a recommendation from a Mexican friend who said it was the best in London and they're probably right.

Staff was very nice and helpful and they found us a table even though we did not book. Service was fast and precise. We ordered chips and guacamole and I was slightly disappointed to get the chips I can get from the supermarket (other chains offered less processed options for a lower price). The food was ok, but again the price was too much. As noted by other review, service is at 13% - never seen in London before.

We came for an early dinner and it was already quite lively. The drinks is very affordable- £10 for a drink. But the food is all around 20 quid. We loved the butter asparagus and guacamole. And the pull pork taco comes with a lot of side dishes. Services has a funny vibe because they are not very energetic. Maybe it’s a Sunday night but they are still very nice and get our orders right.

Had lunch at this nice Mexican restaurant today...here are my thoughts: Ambiance is nice. The restaurant is busy and lively but not too noisy which is great. Service is friendly and food comes out quickly. Food itself is very good for the most part. Love the veggie tacos and my husband liked his chicken fajitas. Quantity is decent. Prices are a bit on the high side but not terrible. We'll definitely return!

Food was good but there were a few negatives… Room was very loud, hard to even hear the people I was with. Service was rush, our mains came out before we had finished our starter. The food was expensive for what we got, it didn’t feel very good value for money. This last one was compounded by the 12.99% service charge which we thought was a bit steep!

We had a great family meal here, the service was excellent and the food was super tasty. It could improve the number of gluten free options, it really limited one person where other mexican restaurants certainly offer a wider choice. Well worth a visit though and we all enjoyed it.

They have a LOT of different tequila available. Very authentic mexican food and drink and the staff are relaxed and friendly. Nice place to chill and have a few drinks or go for a great meal with friends or work colleagues.

Very tasty Mexican food, good but limited vegan options

Food was nice and fresh. Was a little bit loud but it had atmosphere. Great location in-between covent garden and Leicester Square station.

5 out of 10 Great place to go with friend on a night out, as the music and the vibe of the place set the mood for a fun night. I had great expectations as I saw some good reviews and place was full when we arrived. Service is good and quick. However, I am disappointed with the menu and the food. We ordered Nachos as starter and vegetarian tacos as main with plantain as side. The nachos were tasty, a little bit salty but definitely not home made. The vegetarian options were very limited and vegan even worse. Considering the few options I at least expected them to be good, but the vegetarian tacos were simple and nothing special, the rice was surprisingly plain. I loved the plantain though. I consider the place to be expensive considering the size and quality of the food. However we had a £20 discount with the fork that made it worthy. To sum up, I loved the place but food was disappointing. I strongly recommend to review the vegetarian/vegan options of the menu as it can be easily improved and it would make a huge difference.

A really excellent visit here for dinner last night to celebrate a birthday. The food was very tasty, and the cocktails were delicious too - I especially loved the spicy margarita! The service was quick and efficient, and pleasant at the same time. It was very busy on a Wednesday night which made for a good ambiance. Overall, I highly recommend this place for some excellent Mexican food. Thank you very much

Best Mexican I’ve found in London!

Been here a few times but on this occasion I was slightly disappointed. The waiter was extremely pushy and got to the point where he was a bit arrogant trying to rush us with everything. Spent only an hour in the restaurant. Furthermore, the prawn fajitas were more like onion fajitas - so so many onions and just a few bits of peppers and then a few prawns! Disappointing to say the least. Went back since and of course, the costs have gone up and portion size reduced!! We spent £37 each (6 of us) with £23 service charge! And all we had was 1 starter to share 1 mains each and 1 soft drink each!!! Very disappointing

Came here since I saw good things online and wanted to come here with my husband. I like to try new places since I’m a chef but regretted it pretty quickly. Service was decent, food came out quick but we did feel a little rushed since we were only there literally for an hour and ate 3 courses. Starters were ok, nachos were nice but very oily, jalapeño poppers were nothing to write home about. Mains came quickly after. My husband had prawn fajitas, he wanted to try something different and regretted it. Prawns were hard as bullets, quite small and came in a hot skillet so I would have cooked them less since they would have cooked with the residual heat as well. The rice was luke warm and tasted like play doh, like fake uncle bens microwave rice. I ordered the birria tacos, wanted to also try something different and it was like eating grease. I will admit the beef was tender but it had no flavour. The broth they claimed it was cooked in barely had flavour too and didn’t really taste of the beef it was supposedly cooked in. Same issue with the rice. The other condiments both dishes came with were decent but it’s hard to mess up guacamole, salsas and sour cream. Last course we shared a churros. Texture was good and nice amount of sugar covering them, sauce was very runny and had no chilli inside so was just a very watery chocolate sauce, was kind of expecting a warm ganache sort of consistency. We ordered 2 cokes each, both very flat. The water jug, which came in an old tequila bottle looked dirty so we didn’t feel comfortable drinking from it. With service charge being 13% the bill came to around £100 for 2 people. We definitely felt like we wasted money coming here. Be careful watching influencers going to these kinds of places and hyping them up. Definitely won’t be coming back.

A very disappointing experience We visited the restaurant based on the reviews but were very disappointed. We had to return a main course ( should have been mixed roasted veg but was 99.5% onion!) and they still included it on the bill, until we mentioned it ...then it was removed,no problem. We waited nearly 40 minutes between starter amd main course, which is too long.

The food and the service were absolutely lovely. The staff was very energetic and positive. We ordered different types of dishes, which is excellent when you can share. They accommodated our friend's dietary requirements very well too

Came here as part of a work meal, wasn't too sure at first. Totally blown away, easily some of the best Mexican food I've had in a very long time. Will be back!

Overall, we were happy with food & drinks. Food was delicious but very overpriced. But service was not good, we had to wait sooo long for them to serve us. They won’t come to your table unless you ask a few times!

Having booked through First Table, I assumed the food would be better than average but Cafe Pacifico was distinctly average. The food was okay; it wasn’t offensive or bad. It was something to eat before a theatre show. The cocktails were nice and very drinkable but the house Rosé wasn’t a great one. The service was good and staff friendly but given it’s a fairly sizable restaurant, there was only one ladies toilet and this was closed “for cleaning” and the staff couldn’t say when it would reopen. All in all, I feel fairly ambivalent towards it: it was nice enough but definitely not a culinary experience.

Visited for dinner yesterday, everything is either covered in cheese or filled with cheese . Our mains were cold and had to be sent back, the waiter offered to have them remade unfortunately not much better when they arrived . Rice was cold both times. No flavour.

I really wanted to like the food here, unfortunately it was awful. I treated my cousin to a meal here for his birthday and it was more like a punishment and to add insult to injury I paid over £150. The food was SO bland. I was expecting so much more flavour and variety but it was lacking. The textures were awful, mushy and slimy. I love mexican food and would say avoid the food here if you dont want Mexican food ruined for you. The fajita chicken was so tough and rubbery and the enchiladas were a particular low point. The only thing I ate that I would rate more than a 4/10 was the guac and the churros. While the food was horrendous, the service could not have been better!! All staff were incredibly friendly and I cannot fault their service, especially as it was so busy.
